Australian Survivor BvW: Episode 13 Top 5 talking points

0:01 Welcome back to the nullified tech where i've got the tnt takes for you on australian survivor blood versus water episode 13 and this was the merch episode that we just watched tonight i'm coming to you straight after watching it myself i've got five points i want to talk about and the first one is that it's the merge so let's get into it we get to the merch with four pairs and five individuals overall there's going to be 13 players that gets to this point in the game and we find out that the reward challenge is going to be unlike any other reward challenge that we've seen on australian survivor there's actually going to be cash up for grabs sixty thousand dollars which is an insane amount i mean jordy mentions in the middle of this challenge that is three times the amount that jesse and jordy actually made the previous year so a lot of them are really nervous about the fact that they could potentially win this much money and the challenge itself is a rope that they have to hold on to and walk back and forth to collect puzzle pieces and they have to keep tension on the rope because if they lose that tension then their puzzle keeps tumbling down so obviously a little bit of a learning curve here to doing this challenge correctly and it's a very popular challenge that we've seen in many survivors in the usa many seasons and obviously even in the australian

1:21 Version and south african version but ultimately khan is going to come and win this challenge just continuing to grow a massive target on his back you know and i will give this to him if i was out there i've always said that challenge wins i think early in the merge is not the smartest thing to do especially and i mean you never know if you're really safe in the game but if you've got a good hold of a good foot all on the game and you've got a good alliance you don't want to win the first couple of challenges because immediately you come in as a threat but i don't know if i would have been able to have the self-control to not go out there and win it i mean he's got sixty thousand dollars and from what we understand an australian survivor there isn't a lot of prize money i mean even second place from what the fans know don't actually get anything it's either you get first you get the prize money or you get what everybody else gets so you know you're not guaranteed when there's 13 players in the game left that you're gonna get to the end and actually win some money so you know i don't blame him too much for getting this but you know and going hard and getting this cash and i'm very happy for khan because he was one of my favorites this season i'm sad to see him go obviously but you know ultimately gets the 60 000 and well done to him for doing that but his target is massive after this because he's also got an idol and they know that he can win challenges number two mark and sam finally get together at the merch but they both have

2:42 Very different ideas as to how they want to play this game which made for a very interesting episode because clearly these two people care a lot for each other but the way that they see the game and how they want to move forward is different and it's funny because in the beginning of the episode mark said that you know we're going to get sam with her alliance coming in and i'm going to have my alliance coming in and we're going to meet in the middle and we're going to work together but sam here wants to save khan in this episode who is a part of her alliance it's someone that she trusts but mark does not want to have a bar of it he sees khan as too much of a threat you know his name means king in arabic or you know i think that's what he said and obviously he's won some endurance challenges he's got an idol in his hand he's very good socially you can see how he interacts with other people and people like him so he knows that khan is to go because he says if you sit next to khan at the end you're gonna get taken out so that in itself is very interesting seeing it plays out because you know he's okay with sam bringing jesse in as her as her only alliance member to this group but he wants to keep the boys which he's had for a while together so it's basically a male alliance with sam is a tag on to that and i can fully appreciate why sam at this point is reluctant to do that because what kind of power does this give sam in the game she's basically relying on mark to

4:02 Ingratiate her into that alliance and then jesse but she becomes a c player or a passenger in this case she's not running the game and i think that if she gets to the end with that group how does she fight to say this is why i deserve to win the game i made the moves i was the one that was in control of my own fight i think that she realizes that this does not put her individually in a very good spot but for mark i understand it he feels like he's got his boys he's got a good group going there and they work well together so he wants to move in that direction and ultimately mark is going to win out here which was very interesting to see i mean sam did try very hard to go the other way she ended up trying to convince jesse to move the other way but also jordi wants to go for khan so clearly that boys lines that came from the blood tribe they were very thick you know and in this case blood was thicker than water you know because they ultimately beat out the water part of the alliance that came in which i do think they want to work with so i think that's a six people alliance six person alliance that's gonna be very strong here in the merge this third part of the five takeaways is that jesse and jordy wants to use the this boy alliance as a bit of a shield in the game so they want to use them in the beginning to hide behind and then make their moves and be remembered they want to be legends in the game i think they're the snake in the grass or

5:22 The snakes in the grass in this case and both jordy and jesse are both extremely capable players so i'm very interested to see how that's going to work out and at the merge jordy talks to jesse he says immediately to jesse he shares that information that mark has got an idol and jesse says great that's awesome i'm really good friends with sam like we're working together well so if you and mark are together that's a tight four which i kind of predicted last week we spoke about it in the podcast with way i think i may have brought it up in some of my takeaways as well that i think those four are going to end up together and work very strongly together in the merge section of this game and i think that josh and jordan are going to be the outer layer of that six person alliance and we may even see a little bit of that going into next episode because we saw some josh and jordan content coming up for next episode but you know it's interesting because sam approaches jordy to also try and you know get a feel for who jordy is as a person because she's so close to jesse so she now needs to make new bonds with the tagalong alliance that mark's got at this point but what's interesting to see here is that jordy tells her that mark has got an idol and she is shocked and she can't even hide that she doesn't know it in front of geordie and you know if i was sam i would have been pursed i mean this is

6:42 My partner in life and he hasn't told me about this yet he's had an opportunity they've had a conversation from what we could see on the tv show and they might have edited it's slightly out of the correct order of how things happen but it looked like he had a conversation with her didn't tell her anything about the idol and i mean that must make your head spin in a game such as survivor where you already don't trust anyone and then the one person you think i know outside of the game someone i should trust they haven't even given me that information so she goes back to mark and gives him a hard time about it and you know for very good reason like i think sam was in the right there i don't understand mark's logic about i can't just tell you everything from the start like listen mate you're not dating her anymore you've already got her i know that when you're dating a girl sometimes there's this game like i'll keep her guessing that's you're past that at this point so what is going on like i mean love mark but i don't understand his logic in this specific scenario point number four khan is voted out with an idol in his pocket we've seen many great players in the past voted able for an idol in their pocket and i think that you know at the end of the day he just became too big of a threat he won that challenge again the sixty thousand dollars socially he was good around camp i mean there was a funny scene with him walking up to mark and sam where they were arguing about voting him out and immediately he wanted to be the therapist

8:02 You know and talk them through their issues not knowing that he is the issue he's the elephant in the room talking to them and you know i'm sad to see khan go because i think he was a great character i think he's got a good heart i would love to see khan come back and play this game again it sounded like he was somewhat of a fan because he said you know that much at the end i don't know how big of a fan he was but i feel like khan is one of those players that has a lot of potential and if he does come back maybe wouldn't trust people as easily and the big thing for me is when you've got an idol in your pocket and this is where i wonder how big of a fan he is because i think that he overestimated his own ability to hold on to that thing for way too long like i mean people were always going to come for you they were never going to let you know if you've got an idol if you're a future player people are not going to let you know when they come for you so you've got to get rid of that thing at some point and trust in yourself to have the ability to go search for it again and find it again since you've already done so once i guess in his case he was kind of given it at a reward challenge and held on to it for a very long or reward and held on to it for a very long time but you know like play it get rid of the things so that bogey isn't on your back anymore people don't want to get rid of you based on an idol because the idol plus all the other things that he had in his toolbox just made him way too big of a threat so

9:23 You know the last thing i wanted to talk about here i guess point five the twins finally get some screen time now i know twitter has been going off they've been messaging the production team of australian survivors saying why have we not gotten male content you know why have we not seen more with michelle and i wonder if the reason we got some more content was always planned or if they're starting to cave in a little bit to some of that pressure online and people really being upset about them not having seen much from them but again even though we get content from them this season there's a little bit of you know the type of twins that they are and you know how identical they are and how happy they are to be together and play this game together now and they can strategize together but we don't really get to hear much about this strategy like what was your focus up until this point like i mean we were told that mel is close to mark but we never really see that even here mark is more than willing to have her as the potential second vote of khan plays an idol he's happy to lose her so clearly he's not that absolutely she sorry she's not that close to mark because otherwise mark would have stepped in and would have just cut that short you know and i'm wondering with the twins now moving forward like is it just because they didn't really have a strategic game that we haven't seen much of them and now that we do see of some of what they're saying it's just what are they thinking like i mean if you're a player

10:43 Out there you're mal you've cop votes twice now you know you've been voted basically out of the game and by them by the grace of god have survived and have stayed in the game like you've got to start mixing things up and you know there's going to be four individuals left in the game at this point yourself and your sister pull the four individuals together i know some of them are like even you know clashing heads because you've got kj and shay that potentially want to go at each other chrissy who knows what she's going to do she's a true wild card at this point you know juicy dave he's kind of with the boys you know and we didn't really see him with the boys at that point which is interesting you know he wasn't with the pair when mark was talking about that but i feel like you need to do something at least attempt to try and get some of those individuals together with you so that you can have six people in your side and potentially go against the other sex i know it's hard to criticize it's or i should say it's easy to criticize because we get to see the full picture but i don't see mel nervous at this point that she's continuing to get votes like clearly the people you think are tight with you and care for you don't care for you so try and mix it up that's kind of my points for this specific episode we'll catch you tomorrow night when i do the next takeaways as well and we will see you later thanks for watching put a like on it please subscribe and all that good stuff i really appreciate support and also comment let me know what you agree with and what you don't disagree well what you agree and disagree with on this video chat to you guys later
