1:21 As well Kahuna welcome back to the channel thank you Chris good to see you Mucky I think the word massive is the key term there Chris [Laughter] yeah I'm a big Survivor fan I've been watching Survivor since Survivor one us and all the seasons of Australia and everything between maybe except for South Africa and New Zealand Australia and US strong but survive Survivor I use here is versus Villains and I'm stoked to be here with you guys yeah well excited to hear your takes and we will definitely ask you everything especially the drafts I know you've watched that you know what's your take on the drafts do you think that mucky's got a punt his shot at this thing monkey's got about as much as winning this thing as Road [Laughter] glasses today special tributes because that pick was also for a number one pick I'm not I'm not digging he's going well but I think lucky he's probably got him mate Mucky how are you doing mate how you doing I've been so good man you know I just I just can't wait for the secret edge of Extinction to come out here the Rope will make your way back in and sleep and broke up too

2:41 Don't wish that upon anybody out there on the island I'm sure none of them want to see Rogue back after she was voted out so we don't want I want to see it right that's more important for the chaos you're for the chaos now I know Mucky you've been you know wanting to talk about Survivor this whole week you've been checking out the top five takeaways and telling me how I've been getting it all wrong and you know you've got the magic you've got the blueprint you've got the blueprint I thought it's gonna win the season I do yeah what we should take about you know see this book it's just filled with notes about this one week all right it's just one week now I am I actually think that probably like my biggest thing against your hot text Chris is that I think Sean is not in good of a position is that I think you and anyone else listen that's it he's out of the show we're not we're not we're not leaving him on the show anymore you know you never ever go after the guy who controls the button on the podcast that was the taking in of itself to be honest now listen great week great week for Sean overall I think you know this week the edit was all around him wait who's got Sean again

4:03 I do have Sean you've got Simon you've got the other Beefcake the one that's yeah I've got Steve all right he's one going toe to token Steve's coming up man he's winning friends he's making like he's acting all sweet and kind of winning Australia over at this point well according to Tom here in the live he's saying Stevie would have been on winners at War should have been on winners at War well as far as I'm aware Tom Stevie's got a win at first before you can go to winners at War hence the title winner said war is what our hearts crosses it's just like Rupa and All Stars he's going to win the one million dollar fan favorite champion yeah who's Luke because Steve you know yeah step aside Luke step aside Gabe welcome back to the live as well saying yeah Sean is in the best position on the heroes being set up like JT and U.S version hopefully ends better if Sean is JT then who is his Fishback at this stage that's what I would be asking because I do feel like Sean is going at it a little bit on his own the person that it looks like he's kind of gravitating to at the moment kuna is Fleck we saw him talking to flick a few times there on that tribe and obviously he's got the boys who kind of think that he's in with them as well let's talk about Sean's

5:24 Game a little bit throughout this week because he came in as a hero he came in as the Golden Boy but he learned from the golden god that sometimes you've got to you know be a little bit more villainous and he's going to change his you know Stripes coming into this season do you think this is a good strategy for Sean and have you been impressed by the gameplay we've seen here from this week very much so I think I like Sean from the get-go because of the I don't know maybe because I'm not a physical specimen at all when I see these large god-like men just like dominating I go okay it's very impressive but it's usually not backed up with a lot of the strategy and stuff to go along with it they try to just hero their way through it like in air quotes and thinking that the physical will get through and it didn't work for him last time he's seeing the error of his ways and he's trying to be more like the people that beat him you know like if they can act kind of thing or it looks okay and he's trying to do the villain stuff behind the scenes and I think paired with his physical we know that at the moment he's probably Untouchable unless someone wants to get a bit you know jump the gun a little bit too much but once you get to merge usually they're gone so he needs to go on a street but he's trying to set himself up now so that's not the case when it gets there and I dig that I think to be able to mix that

6:44 Combination of physical strength he seems to be very popular he's very social seems to be getting along and if he can then put the strategy behind that and tie it all together in a nice bow he's setting himself up he is yeah listen I fully agree with you on that and we've got a question coming in here that I just want to quickly address while it's in there and then we'll come back to Sean obviously and talk more about him but we've got a question coming in here from Marcus asking as Mucky as a sneaky Steve number one fan bought sneaky Steve Merchant so a little bit of a free advertisement here for sneaky Steve on the channel sneaky Steve it'll cost you later on mate but you know only I don't know what should I ask villains have you gotten your have you gotten your sneaky Steve t-shirt or merch yet I have actually it's on this way you see I'm a man was like I'll say something they're so outrageous and I'll do it you know 1.2910 like we were into like the school Camp right and there's like this Mass

8:04 Like massive storm had gone pie and there's quite rough rivers and I was like gosh I'd love to go for a swim and everyone's like oh no you know it's too dirty and 10 seconds later [ __ ] off and I was in and it was like you know now I know you'll be drafted exactly jumped in shirt off because dive straight in I'm bringing I'm bringing Mucky to all my drafts in the future I want I want all the drives to go this way it wasn't as easy when I had to draft again Chantelle and Drew on the challenge All-Stars this weekend if I was doing season 43 draft which I recall you did ask me to caress I would have picked like gabler first and oh yeah that would have worked out that would have worked out really well for you that was the case yeah people would have thought you were spoiled probably if that was the case now listen getting back to Sean here I've been impressed as well this week with him obviously like you said there a lot of the times you get these big beefy guys there are previous sports stars you know there are these recruits that production bring onto the show but they don't really get the game and they're not necessarily fans of the game either they believe in the makeshift and fairness and let's let the best person win who contributes the most at camp and does the best and the challenges but Sean he even impressed me in his first season he looked like he had some strategy behind him but he just never got an opportunity to really get a roll on

9:24 Because he went up against two juggernauts two Titans of Australian Survivor and I mean if you're gonna do that you're probably gonna come second or third in most of those scenarios but coming into the season monkey what's impressed me is that you know he had add the bullet in the chamber and he was pointing the gun at Haley he had an opportunity to take the shot and he didn't do it now I know a lot of people are going to say when you've got a big Target like Haley in the game you've got to take the shot take it out so that you can become the alpha or the big person in the game and the Lesser player probably would have done that but Sean realized that he needed Haley's Target in front of him and again because physically he just stands out above anybody else and he probably wouldn't be a merge boot again if he gets to the merge so having Hayley there and having other big threats there may buy him a vote or two in the game when it comes to the merge so I was very impressed by Sean as well what was your thoughts on Sean here this one it's typically quite mixed you know I believe I've spoken about this with You Chris as well is that I think he's put himself in a tough situation where you know he's gone so much momentum after Haley but then he stopped it as I bet that momentum is still there you know it's like right at the at the Finish Line what they need to do is just execute it you know and I think that's really frustrating Sam and David you

10:45 Know what I mean and so I think that eventually what's going to happen is that you know it's probably Dimitri is actually gone for the punch or Not by flipping on him but they're just going to make the move without it you know because he put so much momentum behind it he stopped it mostly I think it's mostly because of Rogue which is why he stopped it you know the way it work was that tribal to sort of stopped that plan from happening and then he realized actually it's kind of good if I have her as a shield but there's still so much momentum behind it that I think while yes he is at the top he is at the top it's going to be very hard to sort of maintain that I know we'll kind of keeper as a shield strategy because there's already so many people at the gun about to take her out yeah interesting we'll talk about Rogan a little bit because obviously that's going to be a whole conversation on its own another thing that we didn't mention here was Sean using Sam and Sam has just proven to me this first couple of weeks being back in the game he's not the greatest survivor player top bloke I probably rated him a little bit too high on my tier rankings of the returnees and I'll put my hands that's completely understandable there's any season since he's had lots of examples to look at and he's still about mateship it's frustrating you know I was like this guy played with great players in the flick of his season

12:05 And Brooke and he was aligned with them and he saw you know Matt how his brain worked in regards to playing the game and I thought he was going to come back and understand that it's not about mateship but again you give him the hero's title he feels like he needs to live up to being this hero out there and you know great guy puts himself last every single time like even when they got the reward you know choosing to take the least and then giving the most to other people great strategy strategic move but you know he's too open wanting to show the clue to everybody wanting to work with him and Sean uses that to his benefit and ends up finding an idol in the game a very powerful tool and he does Kahuna but I always want people to do when they get a freaking Idol in the game keep your mouth shut don't tell anybody about it and he actually does that how impressive is it to see Sean actually doing the right thing here I mean the dude like David grenade is the Golden God but this guy has a golden horse show up his ass first of all Not only was he born and blessed the way that he is right he's also Mr Megan Gale and that's number one first of all he's one million dollars well over but then now he's coming across Idols he's dominated the competition like he's doing the right things and he's put himself in the right spot and Mucky makes a really good point like once you put yourself in a really good spot people

13:26 Try to take you down right and maybe that's going to be the case but he's doing the right things to protect himself he's got an idol he's trying to work with Haley like he's doing all these things that are like putting himself in that position he's got a solid four if they do solid group sorry but if they do turn on him he's got that oil in his back pocket like you know unless it's a complete and utter Blind Side he's at least got that protection yeah and not only that he's also created doubt in people's minds by being observed like observing Haley's Behavior around Camp seeing her look for an idol you know putting the blame on Haley for potentially finding an idol so people aren't even looking at him so that's great gameplay from him overall it's Shifting the target once again away from him so I'm a little bit less worried about him being necessarily the next Target and I do think he's still got a reasonable amount of control when it comes to his own tribe at this stage because he does end up in the vote after that still you know he convinces people not to vote for Haley even in that Tribal Council but we'll talk about that in a little bit before that monkey I want to talk about Haley because Haley came into this week she had the Winner's curse on her she's one of the best players to ever play Australian Survivor and all of us thought she would probably be the first person out similar to George coming back into this game now Haley didn't have Shawnee out there to help her

14:46 You know Haley had to do all of this work herself what did you think about Haley's game during this week being able to shift that Target away and how lucky was she that she had Rogue you know if Jericho or Shang had you know a rogue in their tribe coming back maybe things would have been a little bit different does that mean that puts an asterisk behind her for being able to save herself or were you impressed by how she played here this week oh I was extremely impressed you know because there's a strong difference between Hayley and George at the moment George has an alliance Haley's got people she can work with but nothing is set in stone you know George is very tight with Sean and verito with Liz and so Apple took it like me and other people on board you know to take out Michael and then obviously you know everything since then like we're still talking to a lot of people but she's never said all right Sean was my number one you know Sean's my Ally it's all just about surviving vote after vote after vote until she reaches a swap or eventually the merge and I think with Haley it's different very impressive because like yeah she's different the biggest threat out there everyone recognizes that everyone's is wanting her out but she's still able to just really highlight the weaknesses of Rogue and also broke also stuff on clothing as well to actually get a you know not through one vote but through the

16:06 Next vote which she wasn't even really I mean she was on a chopping block but once again even when the twist came up her name still wasn't even mentioned yeah so yeah that's why I doubt I wonder how much of that was in the edit like if Haley was truly actually in danger at all of Channel 10 kind of put a bit of bit of salt on that because Rogue seems like she was such an a standout pick and a consensus pick for everyone like I don't know like and then as you said Haley wasn't even depict the next day so what like obviously there's always going to be talk about someone like Haley and of someone of Hayden's stature there has to be talk because she's so dangerous but was she truly in danger then I'd with a rogue there that's just being all roguish I don't know if Haley was really going to go home or not or if Channel 10 gave us that like will she won't she I don't know I have questions yeah I think Gabe here in the live does sort of agree with that he says the second vote impressed me more because Haley you know had Rogue in that first vote and I think that also proves how bad of a player Rogue was at this game and we'll come back to talking about Rogue in a minute one of the things I did notice with Haley coming into this season it's a very different Haley from the one that we saw play in brain Services brawl now she

17:26 Comes in with this Legacy you know I always look at Sandra as a two-time winner that I didn't necessarily enjoy her first one I didn't think it was the most entertaining I didn't necessarily enjoy her second one as much as other people did I didn't think it was entertaining I actually became a really big Sandra fan after she became a two-time winner every time she came back she owned up to that title and she was playing at a different level compared to the first couple of times she played because she had to she's been forced to play at a higher level because of the Target that she brings in the Legacy she brings into the game Haley for me have at times it felt like she's cracked under the pressure and she's been a bit frantic when it comes to talking to different people being desperate to get those numbers but I can't blame her because literally who does she have around her the other biggest Target in the game is Sean and Sean wasn't known to be a mastermind in his season he was just a physical specimen you know and flick is the same she's not she's maybe made the final three but she wasn't necessarily a strategic Mastermind so she's really got nowhere to hide she stands out so it's made her very nervous in the game at this point for me Mucky exactly it's quite interesting you know I just watch the third episode with Dad actually just tonight and both George and Haley are doing what they need to do to stay in the game George is not you know running

18:46 Around being all villainous and strategizing he's saying that for the confessionals he's instead trying to build more social points which we'll definitely talk about later on in this podcast and he's building those tight relationships like with Shawnee like with Liz who are willing to bat for him to try and save him and same thing with Haley she can't go around strategizing yeah because then that's just proving their point I regular how he's just she's a mastermind look too strategizing now look she's looking for another now so she just has to lay as low as she can until yeah until she reaches the swap yeah because she can't be seen doing anything because even just the smallest thing she could breathe in they're like oh the deer goes highly again you get us and it's interesting you mentioned that I do want to say and I know you probably have something to say on this as well but I do want to say it's really interesting to see Haley have the self-control at the reward and immunity challenges not to put herself in the hero role every single time because you know physically she's capable of probably beating most of the woman on the other tribe but she's on purpose not putting herself out there to continue to make people aware that she's actually playing this game Kuna yeah she's doing a great job of changing it up as well like you said not being there Frankie not trying to strategize but also building the relationships the way she really sort of brought Paige in and then the way she's like she's got that previous

20:06 Relationship with flick but she's building the relationship not the strategy and she's trying to get in on a personal level and not say hey this is what we need to do strategy because that will especially in a tribe like the heroes I feel like that will put them off if she mentions anything to Sam he'll probably like clutch his pearls and like faint at the sheer mention of strategy so yeah so I don't know like she's doing a good job of focusing on other areas because like Mucky said she's doing what she needs to do to stay in this game and I think that's impressive as hell yeah no I completely agree it will change to be able to adapt and realize is huge so yeah kudos just want to go back here to some of the comments I haven't read yet the fairy tiger wolf says hey everyone really fun season so far can we watch the villain stripe forever please yeah the village tribe have been entertaining I know we haven't spoken about them as of yet but I'm sure we will get into that as we continue here another really big thing for me here probably in this first episode that I wanted to bring up as well was we see a little bit of jordy's game he's kind of been undercover for a lot a lot of the first week we didn't see much of what he was doing he was just seen as like the right-hand man to Simon which is interesting because we know Geordie went further than Simon in his first season and probably proved

21:27 Himself a little bit more but it kind of looked like he was happy to be the two I see to Simon and let Simon be that out in front leader so he's a shield in front of him which is a great strategy but Mucky we do see Jordy Reaching Across the aisle and talking to George here this week to try and make sure that they both keep each other's name out of the votes should they go to Tribal Council what do you think of jordy's game as we start to learn a little bit more about him here in this week Jordy has really impressed me you know something I found at the start of blood versus water is that he was really good socially you know he was and on everything socially and he's doing the exact same thing and yeah and Heroes versus Villains I almost forgot what the names system was but yeah it's like yeah he's doing so well he's part of every plan you know he's sort of like the group morale you know he sort of brings everyone together which is contrasting to Simon where someone's trying to break everyone apart yeah you know he's wanting to go after George go after the big players even if it means doing it by himself like in episode three you know plan ID or nullify everyone's votes so that he can get his weight whereas Jordy doesn't really want that and it's quite interesting because I'm not sure if either of you have watched this but on talking tribal George and Hayley did a for blood versus water and George

22:47 Hated jaw this game and always talked so badly about Geordie and I always kind of thought that might be like something that could potentially drift them apart at the start since the two most recent stars of the season so maybe that could like sort of affect their relationship but now that they're very interesting I find that quite interesting yeah but I think I think it's a very different Geordie that we're seeing play this game compared to the previous one he looks a lot more controlled Kahuna he's not just out there to create chaos yet I think that will come out at the merge should he make it that far but maybe because he's playing the game a little bit differently and George is getting to know him on a personal note that maybe has played into them having a bit of a better relationship or being able to you know look out for each other in the game at least yeah I mean similar to what we talked about Haley I think George is in a similar position where their reputation is huge and they're playing a very controlled subtle game and like you mentioned before sometimes that restraint is the difficulty especially when you're a joker when you're literally The Joker and he has this chaos thing to be able to keep it inside for a while at least while it serves you best is one of the biggest tools that people don't know how to play in Survivor straight away like look at Michael coming out so hot and we see it every time on Survivor that the rookies there's gonna be one

24:07 That's just like I'm going balls to the wall like so hardcore but I'm going to change this game up like no one's seen it in 40 seasons and well right they think they're going to do all this stuff but now we're seeing the veterans come in and say look you know that I can do this chaos stuff but I'm going to play a controlled restrain game and I bet he's gonna unleash craziness when he needs to but right now like you said stay staying in the shadows of Simon letting him take all this all the shine all the spotlight and all the target for whatever might come their way he's playing a subtle game and I think it's brilliant yeah one more thing I wanted to address before we go into the Rogue of it all for this first episode was a really funny scene where Simon was talking to George about his hat and George just couldn't care less and you could just see the life leave Simon's eyes because he was like I did this big thing and I'm gonna annoy George and you know he it's so funny because I feel like Simon's rivalry with George is one-sided you know George was in his not even in his tribe he was there for two seconds to vote him out he didn't even lead the vote against them but Simon has this big thing against them and this is no shape to Simon's reached out to me before he seems like a nice guy obviously we're talking about the edit and how things are new he seems right so he's also taking all of the criticism I've seen so far

25:27 That people are throwing at him and he's been a pretty good sport about it which I think is also really important when you put yourself out there and I will say this and Simon's defense because I've seen people say oh you know I'm tired of Simon he's so full of himself he's so cocky and you know some people are like yeah but I'm tired of George and I'm like well if you didn't have George and Simon and you didn't have this rivalry within that specific tribe what we have been talking about for the first couple of weeks you know do you want everybody just to come by ya and just sit there and be boring like I love the fact that he's coming swinging the season maybe he's not finishing the job but at least he's giving us some entertainment you know he's like Robbie Williams out there saying you know Let Me Entertain You so you know I and I'm being good today for that man keep going oh you didn't see that guy maybe The Voice Australia should be Eucharist honestly but yeah I'm enjoying I'm enjoying seeing the chaos that's in that building stripe but none of this could have prepared us for the chaos that Rogue was going to bring to Australia Survivor I've watched 50 plus seasons of Survivor and never ever have I seen a player and I tried to

26:47 Not go too hard on the people behind the players so it was very hard for me when I did my takeaways but she must be the worst player I've ever seen Mucky in any season of Survivor is there anybody worse than her Mucky Russell mate don't go after Russell Swan he nearly died in one of those reward challenges I don't know why you guys are so low on Rogue you know sure enough for four episodes you know she I don't think she knew what she was going on to she said there's an actual hero thing that she was she thought it was a PR thing she could get like more people to know she is and sell some of her videos or I did see that she's consummation a documentary on Netflix that she's directing so maybe that was a part of it I was honestly Rogue should be on Game Changers you know she's the she's the only one to walk into Tribal Council and make sure that she gets voted out absolute genius mate you know she completely ran their Tribal Council from beginning she did she ran that tribe to make sure she got voted out okay you can't fire me

28:07 I quit exactly this is just one of those moments where I just have to name and shame here you know we had Rogue as your second woman pick of the Season Mucky yeah exactly she's at the top and as I said you know she was The Mastermind of her own vote yeah and she can't criticize [Laughter] gymnastics yeah let's have a look let's have a look here at Marcus's comment he's saying let's call the spider Spade Rogue decided to quit a tribal as she couldn't handle the head and was super oblivious and I think a lot of that came down to the fact that she only started realizing at Tribal Council that nobody liked her and everybody just tired of her and you know Nina had a moment at Tribal Council to say listen let me just say you know you're calling all of us none of us are heroes because you know they don't care about the planet enough they don't you know do all this stuff for conservation and all that type of stuff because these days it's all about you know the image of doing all that stuff it's all good work but you know it doesn't mean other people can't be less of a hero I understood what people said by saying hey you showing up for me and being a good friend you could be a hero in my life like there's different Heroes you get Heroes that are you know it doesn't have to be you're saving someone's life and this is a TV

29:27 Show you know they've look at game changers like 80 of the cast wasn't really game changers people take stretches sometimes when it comes to these shows but any case I digress Nina finally got an opportunity to at least direct some of that comments that she made back at it and say this is why you're struggling to connect with us and Kahuna I feel like something must have been cut out of there because we didn't get the whole conversation about her calling herself more African-American than her which I was not happy about that internet wasn't happy about that was the worst part and yeah I feel like Nina must have brought it up but maybe do you think the editors didn't show it because you know Rogue had a lot of heat that was coming her way after that first week and maybe they decided to spare her oh well they kept it there or maybe because they did show it the first time and realize how bad it was even like Sandra and calling her out on social media and all that sort of thing so it could be but I mean by that point she's kind of done enough haven't she blank I feel like and I don't know if this is the case because I just got the it felt like a throw it felt like she was taking a dive the way she not only in the tribal council itself but leading up to her where she's like this tribe isn't Heroes like what are you doing like wait a way to make friends and influence people right like she's

30:48 Just [ __ ] on them right in front of them to their face and expecting them to what like I don't I don't know how what expect like what do you expect to come out of a scenario like that where you're just talking crap to people's face right in front of them I have no idea what she thought how that was going to play out like I can't see any possible scenario so I don't know if she like you said maybe it was a publicity stunt or maybe she genuinely went in I have a feeling like she thought it was a different reality show like maybe like a Naked and Afraid or something where it was going to be genuine Heroes yeah trying to survive in the wild I don't know like has she seen this show before I'm a celebrity get me out of here or whatever I don't know what it was but she really gone down to the hero a bit and she loved the fact that she got called that and if no one else was going to live up to her expectations we found out later like I don't know if you want to go into this controversial topic but after the fact the page thing kind of was a bit funny as well so maybe that was a part of it but she got in there genuinely saying these people are not legitimate Heroes as in they do not save the world every single day therefore I'm out of here like I saw I saw a little bit of what was happening with the page thing I'll

32:08 Be honest Marcus here in the Life asking can we bring up the real controversy which is Rogue business page that happened off the show now I don't normally get too involved in some of the toxic fan stuff that happened outside of just the norm because sometimes the Fan's going pretty hard I saw a post this week from Michelle who also podcasts on the nullified take she couldn't be here this week but we all have it on in the future and she said the page got death threats because of the fact that she he does hunting and stuff I don't know exactly what the reason for that is obviously you know Rogue tries to save animals that's why she had that animal fur coat that she had on there as well she's you know above killing animals and stuff like that but I don't know exactly what happened with Paige outside of the game and you know if she's a hunter or not if she yeah there's she's a dealer route she's a literal cowgirl that lives in the outback and like wild boars and stuff are a legitimate pest for some of these people and there's a lot of dead ones on hers which in and of itself to some people is bad enough then there's some videos of her hunting dogs taking down a wild pig and she seemed to be enjoying it a little bit too much for people and like it doesn't sit well

33:28 With me either but the one thing that kind of pushed it over the edge I think is that there is a photo of her traveling to South Africa or not Southern but Africa for trophy hunting and there's a big picture of her with a is it a kudu or some like chicken or something yeah and so she's done that level but like that's one of those things that's like it's different culture like she doesn't she's from a world that doesn't think like that it's very different kind of thing and you're not allowed to think differently you're not allowed to think differently yeah it doesn't sit cool with me either I'm not that type of person either I don't know in the world people exist like this and it's fine right yeah like I mean I don't hunt firstly I don't like I've I fired a gun a few times growing up in South Africa you get taught from a very young age how to handle a gun because you never know when you're gonna need it South Africa crime can be at a level that sometimes you know we can't appreciate living in New Zealand or in Australia but I've never hunted myself I don't I don't find guns I don't find guns to be something that I really get into myself as well so I don't understand the world that she's in but I also you know I feel like it's a very slippery slope when this stuff comes
