Australian Survivor HvV: Final Top 5 Takes

0:00 Welcome back to the nullified Tech channel here on YouTube where I've got the TNT takes for you on Australian Survivor Heroes vs villains finale week that's right I'm doing my final takeaways here on the channel and if you've loved the content if you've been watching it uncertain if you wanted to subscribe to it I hope today is the day that I do earn that subscription because there's gonna be plenty more content coming up on the channel we're currently covering Survivor 44 and also the challenge and I'm also going to be doing some more Australian Survivor content in the off season so if you do like the content please hit that subscribe button it is the best way to support this Channel and best of all it is absolutely free let's get into the final takeaways here take away number one we have a final three instead of a final two we talked about it quite a bit on the podcast we thought due to the way that the jury was being set up that we would have a final two and I think also the contestants spoke about the potential of going to a final two for quite a long time so for those of you that are kind of conspiracy theorists and maybe are suspicious about the fact that there's a final three I had some of those same suspicions myself I found a very interesting that we changed to a final three here last minute I know they did have a final three the previous season as well so maybe we shouldn't be as surprised but I did wonder if they kept it a secret and if they made it a final three this

1:20 Close to the end to give George a better opportunity to get to the end you can't really blame them if they did because let's be honest George was the only impressive player by the end lift in the game it would have been the best player to win in my opinion I think it's Undisputed that George has made this season what it is and making it a final three meant that he was one step away from potentially getting to the end game takeaway number two I really don't like the jury vote that Matt ended up winning in that first episode that is something that I believe when a jury member makes it to the jury they've earned they stay there until the end of the game they earned the ability to see who is going to win the season so I had a chat with LaRue Botha who's the producer of Survivor South Africa about a year ago where I said to him and I hope he remembers this because obviously a lot of people come at him with different information I said to him if they ever wanted to remove a jury member in the future again because they did it in immunity Island over in South Africa rather bring back the nullifier and nullify a jury vote at the end after all the questions have been asked and after the jury has voted because in that case you still get the same effect where there's one least vote in contention but at least that person gets to sit through the end game so not a big fan of it hats off to Matt though for playing the game for the first time

2:40 This whole season not wanting to budge when George wanted to vote Simon out because Simon was someone that potentially he thought wouldn't vote for him I thought Simon may have respected him but I mean obviously I'm not out there I don't know the hurt feelings that are between the two of them and we only get to see a snippet of what actually happened on the island but I thought Simon kind of admitted he was the only person who played the game so I don't think Simon would have wanted to be a bitter jury if he was on the jury but Matt does recognize that Shawnee isn't a vote for both of him and Jerry and that Shawnee would automatically vote for Liz if Liz did make it to the final three which was always Matt's plan so I was surprised that Matt didn't bring this up when they were asking him when did you make your own move because Liz made her own move very late in the game similar to how may Matt similar to how Matt made this own move very late in the game I would have thought that it would have been comparable but he really found it at the end game and we'll talk about that in a little bit takeaway number three George the king you know Glory or death he ended up going by death at the end of the day and he didn't win this game but he hung in there and for someone that's not great at challenges he gave that final immunity a red hot crack it was a torture device with them having to be up on the small little foothold at the bottom with but pretty much only fitted their heels on it and they had this thing that they had to crank up with spikes

4:00 Getting into their back making it harder and harder Liz continuing to wanting to up the ante I do think that this definitely fitted a smaller person so Liz is definitely someone that it would have helped with quite a lot I mean she would have probably been lighter than all of the others there so less weight on those heels if she was on the probably smaller feet easier to sit on that you know Contraption for a little bit longer than the rest of them and this is the counter argument where I've seen an article come out this week to say that the game was rigged one of the Australian producers came out apparently and spoke on so dramatic podcast about it that the game was rigged for George but if they wanted to rig the game for George even more they could have made this last one a puzzle or something different but I think it would have been too obvious if that was the case so maybe I'll talk about that article a little bit later on I do think it's interesting I do want to find out who that person is that said that it was rigged and if it was an actual producer or not I heard some Rumblings about this a couple of weeks ago but I've kept it off the podcast as much as I could but now that it's out there on Public Information I might talk about that a little bit later on as a separate video so let me know if you do want me to get into the potential rigging of Australian Survivor if that is a thing or not but hats off to George did a pretty good job here hanging in for I believe over three hours we all know endurance is not a

5:20 Thing we all know challenges is not his thing and it was really cool to see Cara go out there as his loved one I love this friendship that they have I love the fact that has stayed true after the game I mean she was willing to put her own life in the game same at Jeopardy for George in the first season that they played so it's great to see that this has become a real friendship outside of the game takeaway number four and this is a difficult one because I think jury is probably the nicest guy outside of the game and I would probably have the meanest conversations with him but it as a fan as a Survivor fan as someone that wants to see people fight until the end of the game to try and win this game for themselves it was very hard to see Jerry at the Final Four go and say listen I'll Follow My Sword I like you all too much I don't want to vote against either Matt or George in this moment I don't feel like I've got a chance to win let me bow out in what world did he make a case there for Matt and Liz to take him out they both know that George is going to win the game most likely if he gets to the end they were never going to go that direction but it was disappointing to see him wanting to fall on a sword just like I was disappointed when Ben driebergen wanted to do that for Sarah Lucina and winners at War so very disappointed of that but Matt does have a separate plan again he goes against George in this moment and he says no we need to take George our

6:41 Jury he is going to win the game we've got to vote him out and Liz has got that same plan and Liz claims this move that she took out George but I don't know I mean listen I don't think this was her taking out George I think this was a collective decision for once and I do think that the power structure here was within Jerry and Matt to make the move because even if Liz wanted to take out George in the end if Jerry or Matt turn on each other with George she wouldn't have had the power to do so I don't know if she could really claim the king Slayer title in this moment but this clearly is the thing that made the jury vote for her in the end all right takeaway number five here congratulations to Liz she is the latest Australian Survivor winner no one can say that she wasn't a bachelor throughout the season she hung in me she came in as a newbie player and that's the crazy thing we ended up with three newbie players at the end of the game The Returning players really dropped the ball and maybe it's because George was such a disruptive force in the game and he just didn't think about the numbers in that way and he did think that he could manipulate these newbie players all the way until the end and he almost did so you can't blame him for trying to take that route because he was one round away from potentially getting into a final and potentially winning the season but we do have Liz get to the end by being this solid Alliance member

8:01 To George throughout the game keeping her cool in times where George turned against there he betrayed her about three times in the game she always kept close to him always kept him comfortable with her so a really good gameplay by her and she fought really hard on the challenges who did extremely well in the challenges and no one can say that Liz is not a fighter in this game strategically she even admitted it in the final Tribal Council she wasn't the biggest strategic force and I like to see a player that has a combination of everything that's my favorite types of winners that's my favorite types of players so can I say hand on heart that I feel fulfilled with how this season has ended no can I say that this has happened to me before in Survivor 100 this is Survivor your favorite does not always win but you've got to respect the win and you've got to respect the jury's decision to vote for Liz to win and I have to say between the three of them sitting there at the end she was the better choice because I do feel like Matt and Jerry deadly I don't feel like they ever really questioned or went up against George Toe to Toe like Liz did and she explained it extremely well in the final Tribal Council she had the most coherent Journey from the start to the end for the jury to follow and understand because remember they don't get to see the editor TV show like we do so she actually explained the game from the beginning to the end and to have so many of the heroes vote for her above one of the OG

9:21 Heroes really he was telling at the end I also wanted to bring up that you know Jerry not even knowing that Sean had hobbies that he had showed really the lack of Interest Jerry had in that original Heroes tribe and maybe why he was on the outs in the beginning maybe he felt like he couldn't jive with him as well because he is 30 years older but like Sean said you know he's a an approachable guy and I think Sean is an approachable guy and I think he would have made the time to talk to Jerry because clearly he took enough interest in Jerry's life to understand what his Hobbies was and yeah bad on Jerry for that bad on Matt for not being able to claim a move or even try and put up a fight in this final Tribal Council I don't know what he was thinking going in there they were never going to give him the money freely and I do think that people may have been undecided at that point in regards to where they were going to put their vote but hats off like I said to Liz well done great one for you the season my final takeaways for this season is just talking about the theme itself I was very low on Heroes vs villains coming into this season I was worried that it was a step too far for Australian Survivor to take because the Heroes vs villains theme is a very popular one that a lot of people still look at now and say it's the best U.S Survivor season we've ever had did it live up to the Euros versus Villains season for me of Survivor years I don't think so I think that there is going to be a lot of recency bias

10:41 I think there's going to be a lot of people that are going to say this is one of the top five seasons of all time for me I don't know if it is like I'm really happy for George that he came in he conquered he saw he conquered you know he did extremely well but I would have liked to have seen a few more great players there like you know for me to be a great season George needed to go up against good players and I do think there were some good players with some potential this season but they kind of went very early Jordy went early his mind wasn't fully in the game Haley she obviously is at George's level she's won the game before but she really never had the alliance members around her or the right Heroes to form this counter group that could go against the Spice Girls and the shiz and whatever alliances you know was on the villain side of the game and for me I just have to think about what could have been like if they had a proper Heroes versus villain season David Gannett was out there Luke Toki was out there Jericho was out there yeah you know all these other great players maybe even the Godmother maybe Matt Rogers bring some big players to play in a big season such as Heroes as villains I think it would have been a better season for me it's not as enjoyable to see one person run circles around everyone and I do think Australian Survivor maybe is realizing this a little bit now as well because they

12:01 Have gone back out to the public this time to get people to cast on the show they're not necessarily just going to get Instagram influences or people recruited into the game you have to have that balance between recruits and people who actually understand the game so you can get interesting gameplay and it isn't as straightforward like there was no for me personally there was no mystery in regards to how this season was going to end I felt like I knew George was going to go deep from the start and then it got to that point where I was like okay well George is playing himself into fourth or third good spot here because no one's going to sit next to him in the final Tribal Council anyways overall that is my takeaways here for this season if you like this content like I said earlier please support the channel by subscribing but for now grab your torches head back to Camp I'll catch you guys next time bye
