I watched Deal or No Deal Island 2 and here's my honest thoughts

0:00 Hello everyone welcome back to the channel I am back with another short video I've actually been enjoying doing these short videos quite a lot it's creatively refreshing compared to doing some of the podcast longer format shows that we've been doing on the channel predominantly and it's easier to schedule easier to watch episodes and just quickly get my thoughts out there and on this specific video I'm going to talk a little bit about a new show on the channel Deal or No Deal Island we've never covered it here on the nullified Channel but I always like to explore and watch different shows as they come out and I did watch Deal or No Deal Island season one at a time where there wasn't much other shows going on and I was curious to see what it was about because every time I looked at Tik Tok I would see Boston Rob on the show and shorts of some of the moves that he was making in season one and that kind of got me interested in the show I've never been Boston Rob's number one fan because I've always believed he's got many fans when it comes to the survival world that has given him his flowers so I didn't necessarily think I needed to do that from my end I've got other favorites but I've got to say last Season watching Deal or No Deal iseland season 1 it really made me once again appreciate Boston Rob as a competitor a reality TV character

1:20 And especially after seeing winners at War I think a lot of people thought that Boston Rob didn't have it anymore but him during that season showing that he still has it makes me also excited to watch traitors I just think that in survivor he's run out of some Runway and maybe that's a discussion we could have separately I do think Deal or No Deal island is a new show it's a New Concept based on the very famous Deal or No Deal TV show a competition show that used to play out many years ago that hoe I believe was the original host for it he was yes so let me just have a look here hoe mandal was the original host for that show and he was the banker last season and won't be the banker this season which was one of the big twists of this episode but I think deal and no deal island is a great show for people who have kind of gotten bored with Survivor in recent Seasons I definitely count myself into that category where I just feel like the show is stagnated the characters for me have become less interesting to watch or I just don't feel like they cast people with the same level of backbone like they used to on Survivor and a lot of these other shows like traitors and Deal or No Deal Island they've really benefited I think from Survivor dropping the ball when it comes to Casting and

2:41 Just inviting some of these characters back to come and play the show so if you look at this season for instance it's got pavi who's one of the best to ever play some people will argue that she is the goat I don't think she's the goat personally That's Tony for me but you know pav is coming back to play this season and she's great she was great in Traders as well when she did that for season 2 in the US and then David gnut who many people myself included believe is the best to ever win an Australian Survivor is also on this season and then another reason I wanted to watch the episode was the fact that I don't know how many people are aware of this but my favorite TV character of all time even more so cuz people who've been following this channel for a long time know that I'm a big Tony blor fan two-time winner of Survivor but my favorite character of all time is Will Kirby and will Kirby coming back somebody who won Big Brother in season two he was kind of to Big Brother what Richard Hatch was for Survivor he kind of invented the game a lot of great winners after him kind of modeled certain aspects of his game and strategy when they came on board if you think about someone like Dan for instance who gave a lot of shout out to chilltown and things like that which was the alliance of will

4:01 Kirby when he played big brother so obviously knowing that will Kirby is coming in knowing he's going to be this massive player got me really excited to watch this and then obviously also having people like David gnut and then py on it so what's my thoughts on the first episode was a lot of fun we started it off with the big pyramid scheme challenge that they had to go and do and in the pyramid scheme they had a different routes of getting to the pyramid so the red cases are back this season and the red cases basically means that you can steal from someone and then obviously one of those cases is the lowest value similar to the first season and then there is a new twist that we've now heard about in this season which is going to be swapping your case for someone else's case and that will bring a different Dynamic to the game as well so doing that you had to go down the zip line which a couple of people ended up going for that it was Luke David and I believe who was the girl what was her name sell which by the way love sell I think sell is going to be someone that's going to be controversial this season because she's got a bit of a bite to her a little bit of a backbone that's like she's one of those characters that I mean when I talk about Survivor not really casting people like this anymore that doesn't

5:21 She doesn't mind like just being herself like and being a little bit maybe aggressive towards other cast members and having strong Backbone in an opinion I just think for reality TV and competitive reality TV it's such a needed sort of casting Choice she's kind of villainous already in some ways and you know sell and David and Luke they do go for the risky option and David I think did a calculated risk here where he tried to get both of them together to help him look out to see who was going to get the highest value case and they both being new to the competitive reality TV landscap Cape absolutely messed this up by just going out immediately to go select the first two cases and they had no idea like there's no benefit in rushing down there to get those cases they had no idea if they were going to get the lowest value if they were going to get the steel or if they were going to get the Swap and David was adamant that they needed to swap the million dollars from the high value team to actually have the highest average and not be at the bottom so that they wouldn't go in to face the banker and for some other reason these two just did not do it which was mindblowing seeing that play out and then pavy she was in the high the team that went for the high case numbers they had to go over a couple of floating

6:42 Punon to get out there and actually collect the cases and I've got to say pavy got one over David Gat here early on if we're keeping score it's pavy one David zero because she did notice that he was sitting back watching them to see who was going to get the high value case and you know well done to her obviously also a serious player and somebody that's done this for a long time they swapped the cases as soon as they're out of visibility for David and David should have seen this coming he's going up against one of the best he says he's a fan and he's fanboying this episode as well but for some other reason he couldn't think that maybe py would be smart enough to notice him staying up there and that they would switch the cases as they went around because the girl who was in love with him in this episode Sydney tried to give him a bone and tried to say hey we will do a deal with you and give you the 750 kks that way you guys are not at the bottom we're not going to take the risk of not being the number one team and he didn't listen to her and thought that he knew who had it and then completely chose wrong the other team had to go for the middle path but that was kind of the more boring part of it I would say the only other controversial thing here early on was that you had lukee

8:02 Choose to take one of he chose one of the lower valued cases which was another mindboggling Mistake by Him Luke was just from beginning to end he had a story that to me was kind of heartfelt talking about the fact that he just got divorced his dad who's been Blue Collar his whole life had to go back to work to support him and yeah like listen the guy made one bad decision after another this episode and that was Jeff the first of many bad decisions to come throughout the episode so as they go back to their accommodation and to the island pav very interesting strategy she is choosing not to tell people who she is and different people are coming to her individually talking about the fact that they know that she's a Survivor player and that she's won before and who she is her reputation so Philip is one of those players who I think is going to be very capable this season he's noticed that early on then obviously they've got the young fellow who they bond with as well what's his name again sorry I'm going to be bad with names especially after the first episode so Dixon I believe Dixon has done some sort of Online orc type of gaming and stuff like that as well I saw something on the Internet about that so I think he strategically might be quite sound but he knew

9:22 Who she is and he's sort of said you know I had a crush on you when I was younger and pver is sort of yeah trying to get every single player to not tell the others and I think there is some strategy to that because if they do let the secret let the cat out of the bag she now knows who she can trust and who she can't trust in the game but probably the biggest part of this episode and it is very definitely very David gut heavy and very py heavy because I just don't know who of the other players at this stage sort of even stands out that's the disadvantage when you've got a bunch of new players coming up against people who have played some sort of a competitive of reality TV show before is that they're firstly going to have to fight for the attention of the fans so that they'll get noticed above these players who already have a reputation and a following and then secondly it's just they're going to be behind it's going to take them a round or two to catch on to what the likes of PTY and David's doing in the game but biggest shock this is what I was going to say the biggest shock for me was David and P coming together and working together cuz those are two big personalities and sometimes with that comes a big ego I think with poverty probably being the person who would have less of that ego and that would be able to amend to David a bit more but David as well wanted to work with poverty and it kind of makes sense when you're going

10:42 Up against so many new players you've got this younger crew who are all sort of already banding together you do need some numbers this is still a game of some social numbers and having to get people to have your back in the game because whoever is number one will shoes who goes in and if you want to control your fate like David said in this episode you probably want to go in and face the banker you don't want to leave it up for chance and I think David's strategy this episode completely sound trying to get himself to go in he didn't get any kind of confirmation from Luke that Luke wasn't going to eliminate him from the game if he won the game against the bankers so completely sound you don't want to leave anything up for chance that's like one of the downfalls or not the downfalls but one of the downsides of this game is that there are certain times that the game is kind of out of your control and he wanted to take some control back but Sydney being so in love with him just couldn't throw him in at the end and then ultimately you know Luke just having an absolute shocker and having two lowercase numbers still in play one high case which was $500 from memory he ended up not taking the deal when it was on offer I think it was like $300 or something on offer and then two low numbers and he ends up going out on a 50/50 where he

12:02 Does end up with the $1 what's the chances of $1 being in his case and going home so very interesting first episode I am very excited to see that will Kirby will be in the game from The Next Episode onwards and you know I don't know if he can win this game because will Kirby if you think David canut is highrisk if you think him doing like these risky things in the first episode was ballsy Dr wool is another level of that so he's going to play this game very aggressive and I think he's going to play with house money when he comes in and it's potentially going to blow up in his face but I can guarantee you this if we have him for one episode if we have him for two episodes it's going to be fun and entertaining TV I'm sort of interested to know is anybody else watching Deal or No Deal Island what's your thoughts on the season so far are you liking it do you think that this is a great alternative to Survivor for people that maybe are a little bit jaded or just want to watch something else and how many of you are actually familiar with David as well because it was quite interesting to see that nobody else on the cast knew who he was except for pver so that's a powerful little bit of information that P is sitting on so if the heat gets too hot in the kitchen she can always throw him under the bus he seems to be quite sincere when he's saying that he wants to work with her but we all know that
