2:41 Mucky by the by the sounds of it yeah it sounds like it's the last couple of episodes next week because what five people will be eliminated next episode and then there's only five people left so it's gonna be like two episodes yeah I can't believe it well one was done that's kind of how reality TV Works in Australia right they just like throw it all on us like two three episodes a week you know within say a space of four to six weeks the whole Show's done they don't you know do the one episode a week type of thing so we're kind of used to it because that's what they do with Australian Survivor that's what they're doing with a lot of the other reality TV shows that are coming out now as well and I've got a little bit of a bone to pick with reality TV over in Australia you know I'm really annoyed that they did not you know do a better job at promoting rush because I'm like way behind on that show now and I'm really enjoying it but that's probably a podcast for a different day let's get into million dollar Island here for this week but before we do that let's sell it to a few people here in the live audience Danica is just dropped she's just dropped her husband off over I think in the states then okay you like to correct me if I'm wrong and she's listening to us in the car we really appreciate you being with us Jonathan welcome back good evening to you as well good sir alternator back

4:01 As well say we want Kahuna we know we all want Kahuna of alternator we all want to but you know hopefully he'll be back next week to break down the final week here I do know that he has been keeping a very close eye on the channel you know he's been you know looking at what we've been saying last week and at some point you know he'll tell us how wrong we were about everything but we'll just we'll you know yeah we'll just you know ignore that we're always right here exactly well listen this is this was fun this was a fun week we started off with 24 players we started off with tests being in power and I thought Tess played her week of power or her episode of Power very well she went over to the camp with all the food Vine Camp wanting to make a deal to keep them safe for food but little did she know that they were going to offer her food to be thrown into the challenge what did you think about that Mucky I was like bro that's nuts that's so nuts like just wait for the Grand Final week you know and then put yourself and because like three people have gone three out of four people from Vine have lived as a poor mat just standing yeah so I would have just waited for another while like maybe if you if you put in like

5:21 One person then that's fine because it's still got more numbers to like fend for yourself in for your camp but not like everyone you know what I mean I thought this was nuts but it was bizarre and it was it was such a freebie for tests because again there's like no backlash for her from at least the vine Camp because they wanted to go and so they feel like she did them a favor at the end of the day throwing them in there and yeah it was just bizarre because we just had people who just survived the previous round got out of it like Jack who wanted to go back in there again and then in the very next round one of those players who survived Chloe who wanted to be thrown in big not to go in so yeah exactly it's like you know we all love the idea of being in a dangerous tense situation but once you see death right in the eye you see the face of elimination you want to get far away from it as possible yeah it must have really scared of that one time that her life was in danger in the game and then the next round she didn't want to go back in so it made no sense to me let's say hello to a few more people here Joy welcome back George always good to have you here the cast today what you

6:41 Could say the cast the way that they had to name twice the castle is so nice they named her twice there you go the Fury tiger I think this is the first time we've had you in the live here for the season it's great to have you back I've noticed your comments coming out this week as well it's actually been a while I feel like the last time we had you commenting was like way back in Australian Survivor so it's good to know that you're also watching million dollar Island saying hello everyone thanks for the awesome coverage wow anyone whose number comes up off the ren will completely loses it and the power goes to their head big time oh we're going to be talking about a bit you know the big moves and the power going to the head of someone very soon here I thought Tess did a really good job and she also didn't throw herself in there she didn't feel like she needed to prove herself I think she's only got like one or two she must have two bracelets because she was safe in finals week but she didn't go for the power immediately she's willing to wait it out and sort of see what the game has to offer in finals week yeah exactly I mean I think at this point like it was early in the game I'd be like why not throw yourself in right because there's so much time to wait like because if you win did you get all the bracelets if you lose what would you get to have a nice hot shower and a lot of food well this close screen to find this week like you know has been confirmed you're

8:01 Winning for a share of a million dollars you might as well just wait it out to finals and not throw something so yeah you're also participated pretty much perfectly I reckon power she had I've been impressed by Tess this whole season and clearly The Producers liked her they gave her a reasonable amount of screen time and I think we even spoke about this probably last week in the life and we said there's very few players that we followed the journey from the start and she was one of those players that we followed from the start which is even more shocking for me because at the end of the week we do see her lose out in a survival challenge and not making it to the next round were you similar to me were you thinking Tess was going to survive that round because the whole time I was just like okay this is this is Taste of survival when she's going to get through the edit has been sort of supporting her but they threw a bit of a blind side on us yeah no it's one of those things where it's like with the edit before the episode I was like oh she's had a good editor but it wasn't really that made me think she was going to stay it was the initials getting during the challenges we kept on seeing that how she's not gonna give up she's not going to give up we saw that with Chloe as well that she's not going to give up and then she went to the survival challenge right you know we keep seeing it time and time again with people who win the

9:22 Survival challenge or the main challenge is how they're not going to give up they're doing it for their family they really amp up that sort of emotional feeling in them so when they win you feel that sense of happiness and that's what I generally thought were tears I kept hearing from her I was just not giving up she's giving it everything she's got she's doing it for her family for her kids and she had that backstory like the classic reality TV backstory where they want you to get behind their winner in most cases like you know they want you to feel good about this person winning the money so when you have someone out there and they're telling you about the family that they're doing it for and all the kids that are waiting at home depending on her to come back with the bag you kind of feel like this is your main character or one of your main characters for the season that you need to get behind so it caught me a little bit off guard when she didn't make it past that certain point in the game but I do want to talk a little bit about the uniqueness of Texas week here in power she did have to nominate a few players here more than usual she nominated Jack Jordan Chloe Sabrina Alex Brianna who had a an amazing story as well I can only imagine the adversity she's gone through in life and you know she's a strong woman like I was kind of getting behind her as well in this episode and then Alice and Lisa gets no breaks either back down they're in the nominations and she was able to also get

10:42 The pairs set up with each other so who was going to verse who in the first round that's a lot of power monkey for someone when it comes to nomination she actually could influence even the Challenge on the day yeah no it was so much power but like all the more credit to test on how perfectly she played it she accurately you know put people together so they didn't break out between Jack and Jordy on how she kind of wanted that to go but I feel like for most of the matchups you did kind of get her way on who she wanted to win she specifically put people together so one person would easily be the other and yeah it was really interesting strategy and I don't think it's strategy we see often in survivors especially when it comes to those Exile Island Redemption Island like challenges where you have to face someone off in the jewel like I'm thinking of Sandra and Del Sur how's that sort of get to face each other off and whatnot there's no real strategy in there but like because there was and I feel like tis played it like to the best she could have yeah I just feel like again this shows also why Vine really missed the beat this episode because they could have gone to test and said listen we're happy to give you food we want to go in and pick who we go up against that would have been the deal right I didn't

12:02 Ask for that so they only half-assed like listen can you throw us in there we don't care who we're going up against and then you get a person like Jordan being thrown down there yes granted he's been struggling with food the whole time while he's been out there but he also proved that when it comes down to him having to knuckle down and do well he can perform and then this challenge really from the start when I saw Jordan get up I thought maybe Jack if he has like a slight chance because Jordan is just that weak he can win this and then go all the way but Jordan had the reach he was kind of Built For This challenge where they had to get the flag from the other person and stay on this wobbly balancing beam Out on the Ocean which I like the challenge again it's a challenge like we've seen this performance Survivor but it has a little bit of a Twist to it right yeah exactly expecting it to be like similar to how they're doing this transfer with they have like the thing like spinning constantly you have to try like yeah bounce your weight on it but I like the fact that it was just like a kind of Rocky sort of platform you understand on because it really comes down to like the 1v1 rather than trying to balance if that makes sense yeah I wonder what would have happened if like both of them fell into the water and they didn't get each other's flag like would it have counted for who went down first that

13:22 Wasn't really explained to us the only thing they said is that you had to come up with the flag of the other person because if it didn't matter then I probably would have just gone straight for the Old South African dive you know and just try to tackle them down and go for the flag you know like I would have played very dirty in this situation Mucky yeah that was a very interesting challenge all the challenges even the survival ones I found really just fun and exciting to watch and like something that you don't often see every day with the reality TV shows that the challenge is often like way but boring or not the entertaining but I personally feel like every challenge has been really entertaining to watch I think the reason that we're finding it entertaining to watch and for me personally the survival challenges have been very interesting to watch is because when we watch shows like Survivor they've done it for like 50 plus seasons over so many different franchises that we've kind of almost seen everything and I don't feel like they're innovating them anymore we're with million dollar Island yes there is some similarities but they all have a Twist to them and then even the survival challenge here in this episode ends up being a cooking challenge which I would have absolutely sucked at I said in the

14:42 Top five monkey that I use all-purpose in spice for all purposes I use it for my fish my steak and apparently you shouldn't be doing that apparently there's different spices one of my Mates is like he's like a real foodie and he was disgusted by me using all-purposing spice for everything oh Chris I mean to be fair I used like garlic and everything like not just like a tiny bit but like a large portion of it like pasta and rice and like steak like meat like everything and even in just like vegetable dish still just chucking a dessert spoonful of garlic so I definitely get what you're coming from when you have a flavor you like it just Chuck it into everything you know let's have a look at some of the comments Jonathan is saying you would have had Carla Kali and Georgie calling for your head Chris that's probably if I spear tackled someone from the obstacle course JoJo is saying Ed would say to us you can be at zero percent and always find another 10 per side 10 inside of you Jordan was so flat that morning and you really dug deep on a natural high and we haven't spoken about this yet before we get into the survival challenge which we kind of teased a little bit but thinking about the specific day Jordan actually before

16:03 The challenge went out to Jack to ask him for food and that was like the whole next time on million dollar Island bit that we saw we spoke about this a little bit last week but we didn't know that Jordan was literally going to be Jack's competition going into it which makes it even worse like Jack did 100 the right thing by not giving them that food like why feed your competition out there like that this person you're gonna versus you're gonna versus him and I think they knew it by that time yeah exactly they're definitely would have known it by that time because Jordan was saying how it's for the competition he wants a few of the competition but since Japanese is going up against him if he gives him the extra food and then he loses it's like then there's a dumb move right at least like by starving him out that way he's much better shot of taking out the challenge but if Jordan was not like versing Jack do you think it would have been a good move to kill him some food it feels not he wouldn't have I don't think he I just think that the way Vine looked at it and they were all looking out for each other and they were like saying and again you have to put yourself I understand that you know and again I understand up to a certain you know as far as I can I wasn't out there starving myself but I understand that it must be tough and you're trying everything to get food in your bellies and that will make you do some things that you probably wouldn't do normally out there and we'll talk about that

17:23 A little bit later on but you know at the end of the day Vine had only one thing they did not have the numbers they did not have the bracelets so what could they bite it with and that was food that was their power in the game where log Camp had numbers which Vine didn't have in regards to bracelets and things like that and similar with top Camp so I 100 again feel like it was the right thing for them not to give the food and I don't think they would have done anything differently even if he wasn't going to verse him in this next stage let's just go back to the live real quick here a hangout room welcome to the live always good to have you here our good friend Zoe and my co-host for Survivor South Africa hoping that comes back soon there's been no news Jonathan gray says Jordan's been a challenge Beast tied for most challenge wins with two equals with Chelsea and Brett yeah no he deserves his spot he deserves his spot yeah Jonathan gray says the only person to win an arena and a survival challenge at this point which is going to be valuable experience going into finals weeks you don't know how that's going to work but it's probably good to have a little bit of experience of both parts of the game Chelsea and Brett have never had to go in and do a survival challenge which is a little bit different JoJo says if you saw him before you would be mind blown he was a proper sloth mode no energy so drained and the challenges it was wild to watch we have him extras we gave him an extra snails that day yeah and

18:43 Again it's good on you guys for looking out for him and boosting but obviously being somebody with a lot of bracelets he was valuable to the camp you'd want him to come back and you know bring those bracelets back to Camp instead of the bracelets going to another camp out there so that makes 100 sense to me but yeah so we do see the survival challenge what did you think of it did you like the fact that it was a cooking challenge that you like that you know Jordan was the judge at the end coming in as the guest judge yeah I did I absolutely loved it because I was trying to think what could the survival challenge like of being that we haven't seen before you know we've seen you know Gathering Seafood making a fire building a shelter now thinking you know like what about like cooking like in the wild like can we've ever seen anything like that we just lost you there for a second sorry mate you said what could the survival challenge be oh yes I was thinking like what could it be it's like one thing we haven't seen is how we can cook in the wild yeah with like natural ingredients limited amount of supplies and one of the one of the things to me was kind of like I was wondering like again this is where you know we as fans sometimes like we say okay

20:03 They plan these things way out in advance but how difficult is it to get them to do a cooking challenge in the exact survival challenge that a chef is in danger and you know Alex she started off this day with a little bit of you know it was an interesting Dynamic test betrayed her through her in there because they thought that she was too close to log camp and we've got some log people here in the live it'll be interesting to know how close Alex actually was to log camp but if it was a little bit you know I think overplayed by top cam so they could just throw it out and maybe they just didn't get along with her but you know she also had this big thing where she went over to vine Camp to say top Camp was stealing for them and then there was this blow up Becca top Camp so I was kind of rooting for Alex as well so I wasn't too angry that it was a cooking survival challenge because it would have been cool to see Alex go back just for the drama of her being back and even though I like Tess like taste was being a little bit hypocritical here because she's like how can you betray us like this and how can you know go and tell and dab on us with the other camp but Tess just betrayed her how can she say that exactly there was a lot of hypocrisy across these two episodes I loved it so much like seeing people

25:24 I would have been the worst judge because I'm not a foodie either like I like eating food but you know I'm like it all tastes good you know I'm like not a picky eater at all so if I had to like make a decision it would have been so much pressure but when Jordan did choose who won that which was Chloe at the end and Chloe obviously being a mother which you know she obviously has to provide all the time for her kids and cook some things like for her to be the chef out there I'm sure that's bragging right she'll keep with her going back home Pro reminds the kids every day Mommy beat a chef out there so you better not complain about the food I'm cooking but Jordan did say that he tried to like he was hoping that someone from his Camp would win that obviously it didn't play out that way for them I did want to talk a little bit about you know we've got someone here in the life that did give her bracelet away this week so joy decided to give her bracelet away to Kylie by the end of this week so JoJo it'd be amazing for us to have a little bit of info behind the scenes on why you chose Kylie over Carla because I know you were close to both of them and you know what sort of drove you to make that decision at the end of the day I know it's been quite a while since every since anybody is really like I think the previous round there was Jonathan at some point as well but I feel like less and less people have

29:25 Cold hot and humid in Florida today 24 Celsius but it will be 34 92 later I'm about to put ice in my coffee yeah it's winter over here in South Africa right now that's why I'm like I'm feeling it like it's the weirdest weather right now Mucky like we're getting snow in Johannesburg snow in Cape Town like we never get snow in South Africa it's like what's going on yeah it's weird it's cold let's have a look here horse dentist John was also a medic with dislocated a knee didn't know that interesting campfire cooking is also pretty different to normal cooking yeah that's true that's true you don't have the ability to regulate the heat as well as you would if you're out in a kitchen look at me talking like I'm a chef I don't know anything about making food I can barbecue though Georgia says Carly was my soul mate we were the perfect yin and yang she was there for all my bad days she kept me going every single day I was really sick from the start and she was my strength and that's fine like I mean at the end of the day if you've got that bond with someone and you can help then you know you give that break and this again this is why the I call it the begging part it's probably not right but like going out there and asking for bracelets to me it's like I don't know it's the it's the part that I like the least

30:45 About it like I would hate to go out there and have to go you know ask or beg for a bracelet in the game because at the end of the day people are going to give their bracelets to whoever they had the best connection with out there in my mind exactly which is why now he's like nothing thank you Jonathan that sounds a lot better than what I'm using campaigning it's campaigning thank you yeah here's a cheeky campaigning strategy don't ask for bracelets just put on a great show you know get the whole Camp to do a really fun game you know just be super likely super charming and then everyone's like oh Chris he's so likable you know it's so funny if I'm thinking of quitting I might just come up both the term because he's a while I'll just be like this if I can't get a bracelet of my camp but I'm like not confident I'd go over to a camp such as log and I would say listen if you what if you are close to quitting you want to quit the game I will turn code on My Tribe and I will come every night and bring you food and I'll be that guy I'll be the double agent so you're buying food with this save right that's how you can pay man like but then again maybe only Jordan would have taken me up on it I don't know like the rest seem like they didn't want to play that game but then you know times got desperate in this next episode which we'll definitely talk about I
