00 [Music] welcome back to the nullify tech where we've got the tnt takes for you on survivor 42 episode three just before we get into the top five talking points here for this video i would like to thank everybody that have been watching these videos and that have subscribed to the channel and have commented and left a like on the comments we've just reached our first major milestone here on the channel of hitting 500 subs so because of that i am gonna make an australian survivor merge buff from last season available to one of the listeners of this channel and i will have a separate video up that will thank everybody as well and again just to reiterate the rules i'll put that up to let people know how to take part in this but basically just like the video comment below and subscribe to the channel and you will go into a draw to potentially win this buff and we'll be doing a live draw so everybody has a chance to win this so thank you so much for that and without further ado let's get into the top five talking points for this episode so right in the beginning of this episode we see that marianne feels the pressure having just escaped the previous tribal council she knows there's only four people left in that tribe and she must feel that her butt is on the line because she goes out and looks for an idol with the likes of omar
21 Lindsay is very aware of marianne as a potential threat and that she already looked for that idol in the previous episode so she's gonna continue to keep an eye on marianne as well and it seems like at some point if there is gonna be a break in this chain for this taku tribe it might be lindsay that is gonna gun for marianne or vice versa i don't think marianne is as aware that lindsay's got her eyes on her as probably she should be but she gets this beware advantage in this episode and she is extremely nervous to open it she doesn't know what the consequences is going to be but she finds out after opening this in front of omar believe it or not that she is going to lose her vote until all three idols are activated before the merge now marianne gets the phrase that it's another classic case of the bunny rabbit having dinner in the mailbox jeff where are you coming up with these ideas for your phrasing it's crazy and she somehow finds a way to actually make it sound kind of believable within the reward challenge immunity challenge i think that people probably just looked at marianne in the episode and thought yeah sounds like something marianne would say she's a little bit out there full of energy so maybe it's just something that is getting lost in translation but
41 I don't think anybody thought too much of it but obviously that is going to give mike the heads up and obviously a lot of the people in mike strive that green tribe that marianne is the person with the idol because that information has been freely shared amongst i believe four of them at least in that tribe so very interesting scenario here for marianne she's gonna play very hard which i love but i do feel like she's going to burn out at some point clearly i mean omar knowing about the idol is another massive risk for marianne in this tribe he knows that she doesn't have a vote he knows how dangerous the idol can be when it gets activated so again omar is the person with all the power here which is quite interesting to see now take away number two for the first time in survivor history we see a challenge midway through the challenge gets stopped by jeff probst himself he says that he's never had to do this before because the current out there was so strong where people were struggling to swim out from the platform that they were on collect this massively heavy ladder and collect what i believe was keys throughout it they had to go all the way through to the end where they had to throw sandbags onto a podium or little podium slots that they had on a pole but a lot of people were just struggling getting out of the ocean to
01 Begin with and it did look brutal there was one person who stood out massively in this specific challenge and that was jonathan he's clearly a challenge beast he's clearly standing out as the most physical and athletic person of the season and on this specific episode he carries his tribe again on his back literally saving their lives out there pulling them out of it and doing the whole challenge pretty much on his own and jeff does say at the end of this performance that it's one of the most dominant performances that he's ever seen in survivors so if the target couldn't get any bigger jeff probes made sure that he would even amplify that more so for jonathan so you've got to wonder you know i love seeing jonathan be this dominant physically specimen that capable specimen out there doing those challenges but how much of the threat is this putting on jonathan now when it comes to the merge do you get rid of him prior to the merch did you get rid of him very early on at the merch because clearly he is just that much better than a lot of the people that are in this game i'm a little bit fearful for jonathan and how much of a target this pudding is putting in his back moving forward and it's really sad to see it because i actually like jonathan even just as a person he is someone i was low on coming into the season and he's continued to just slam it out of the park
22 You've got to also ask yourself how much of this has got to do with the fact that jonathan is the only really big alpha type of male i feel like out there mike is also but he's a little bit older now so does this actually make him stand out even more so compared to what he would have done in a normal season which was one of the reasons i drafted him quite low in my picks because i thought he would stand out because of these reasons now takeaway number three omar and chanel connects at shipwreck island or ship wheel island whatever you want to call it the tribe that wins here obviously the orange tribe wins out right in the immunity challenge they get to choose one person from the losing tribe which is the green tribe here to go out to the island to go make a decision they can either choose to send two people from a different tribe down there or one of themselves and then one from the losing tribe they choose chanel to go there and omar very smartly says i will go out there as well they also have the information because omar has already heard from marianne what's going to happen in regards to the choice so omar chanel as they walk up to the peak the summit here they get to talk and find out each other's motivations they immediately feel like they've got a connection and that they could work well together i can see it they both seem to be very
42 Cool calm and collected and strategic people in this game and a lot of survivor is based on vibes like do you vibe with someone do you think you can trust them how do they make you feel and clearly they are on the same wavelength and funny enough when it comes to the decision even though chanel said to omar that she cannot risk her vote she cannot lose her vote because of the numbers and specifically i don't think she told omar this but she knows that one of the people in her alliance mike does not have a vote she goes and takes a risk while omar thinks there's no way she's taking the risk they misread each other and they both lose their vote so a lot of new things happen happening here this season that we did not see in the original season with both people risking their vote and both losing a vote so it's really exciting actually seeing some of these twists that maybe a lot of people were low on in the previous season but there's different outcomes to it this time so it makes it interesting to see how the cast itself can actually change your views on some of the twists that we're seeing within this season so chanel obviously loses her vote having to go back to camp and that's gonna become very interesting when it comes to voting time takeaway number four daniel continues to come across as a very sloppy player he's
02 Clearly a very intelligent and smart guy he can crunch the numbers but a few things this episode made me really worried for daniel in this game firstly daniel very early on in this episode goes to mike and jenny and says to mike listen i want to see the rules again to your idol and mike feels very uncomfortable with this because he's nearly lost that idol in the previous episode but he does not want to lose daniel as an alliance member so he does show him the rules again so daniel gets to go and walk off on his own read the rules gets to see all the phrases and everything he goes back to mike and suddenly mike realizes that again the idol is missing and also the instructions on how to play it absolutely insane how many times this idol has been lost i would not be shocked if we don't even see this idol make its way to the merch and if it's a casualty prior to going to the merch just based on how sloppy the player's been here from both mike and daniel but you know daniel at the end of the day is not in my opinion instilling a lot of confidence in someone like mike here to continue to work with him long term based on the fact that he could lose something like this and it did look dodgy like if i was out there and someone suddenly lost both the idol and the clue i would be thinking this guy's trying to get one over me they're trying to steal my idol or keep it away from me i would be very
22 Very worried about the alliance members that i've chosen in this game now he also makes some really questionable decisions at tribal council and point number five is tribal council that i want to go into so i guess point number four and five kind of talks to each other and it is that ultimately high saves lydia here early on in this season and where is this going to leave both hai and lydia for the long game i feel like hai came to play and really arrived in this episode clearly we had a factions of you know daniel and chanel they were very close you had a faction of hai and lydia being close and then mike and jenny being close in this tribe as well they were always going to stick to the person that they're closest to in this game but coming into this it was one of the craziest tribal councils i've ever seen because only two people ultimately at the end got to vote for who they wanted to and four people had an actual vote with two people losing their vote mike didn't have a vote chanel didn't have a vote chanel did tell daniel that she may lose that vote due to the decision that she made and it made for one of the most interesting tribal councils ever because the whole tribe wanted lydia
42 Gone haye was the only one that wanted to stay with lydia but because we got to a full person vote and high reading the lips it looked like it was lip reading seeing that chanel said to daniel vote for lydia and he observed that within tribal council i think he switched this vote from splitting it like both chanel and daniel tried to get them to do which would have been a smart move to get lydia and daniel to split their vote so that one vote goes for a different person each and that means that their two votes ultimately would mean more in this case but it does not go down that way with two votes lydia two votes jenny and then re-voting and the same thing happens and jeff having to reveal who's got no votes in this episode and then it came down to a classic game of chicken and daniel folded like crazy here trying to move the target away from himself onto chanel saying she's the one who wanted to get lydia out i was thinking i'm doing chanel a favor in the game and i think he made the biggest mistake changing his gears here unless he can continue to play a really good game and paint that target on chanel i feel like chanel is gonna come across as more trustworthy than daniel he comes a little bit he comes across there's something about his vibe that comes across
02 In a way where it's not trusting and i wouldn't trust him he doesn't have a calmness about him i think chanel does have that even though i kind of read prior to this tribal council that she was a little bit more edgy than usual i think hai will probably go back to work with her maybe a mic even on top of it but you can also say daniel has the information about mike having an idol which i don't think high in lydia knows at this stage so that could change things a little bit in the dynamic there as well but high stays firm here reads it correctly that you know daniel says many a times he doesn't want to go to rocks this early in the game and hi they're saying i'm gonna keep my vote to save my ally lydia you guys have to change it and they change it so i salute what a move by you to stand your ground very firmly here in this episode and saving your alliance member those are my five takeaways for this specific episode who are your favorite players at the moment do you think i came to play and is here for the long run or do you think daniel can recover let me know in the comments below and like always catch you guys next time bye
