Survivor 44: Who's Winning? Power Ranking

0:00 Welcome back to the nullified Tech channel here on YouTube where both Kahuna and I have got the TNT takes for you on Survivor 44 yes we've had episode seven we've had a guest on the channel today and we're recording this on the very same day over here in the evening so it's been a Survivor heavy day for me and we're going to be going into Power Rankings but who know I'm really excited do you know why I'm excited about this power rankings why is that because we got one out of one right when it came to predicting who's on the edge you know I know a lot of people a lot of sadness online about Matt going home and the way that he went home so maybe let's have a quick chat about Matt dear Young in love Matt that had googly eyes for only one person out there you know he does end up falling on his sword he maybe went out differently to how we predicted I mean who could have seen this twist coming Survivor doing Survivor things again just twist after twist after twist I like how like we've talked about it before but like they're like no we're gonna keep the exact same challenges exact same puzzles exact same everything we'll just change twists that's all we need to do like we don't have to worry about that stuff we'll just do this stuff and there's some they threw some out there today there was like tweception it was like Twist on top of twist on top of a Twist what do we have like I think it was four I

1:21 Lose count I talked to gabler about it when he was on the podcast with me earlier today and we said that you know when we're throwing twists in there and we're doing these things it's getting to the point now where you physically need as a casual viewer to get a notepad out and you need to start writing down who's called what type of twists happen because it's just not as easy to follow anymore I feel like for the Casual viewer I mean we the super fans the people who dissect and are crazy enough to try and analyze and predict what's going to happen each season we're finding it hard to follow and somehow Jeff is just loving all of this you know craziness that he's bringing into the game which to me is just a little bit too full-on I hear all the noise out there on Twitter and on Reddit I didn't really read a lot of that before I spoke to gabler so I didn't realize how low some people online were on the episode and obviously there was this big love for Matt because of the mad and friendly relationship and that just got his vote back una in this episode he only just started playing Survivor because prior to this he wasn't really in the game and sadly we predicted it right he goes out here big rookie mistake by him kuna leaving his bag at camp but who would have known he wasn't able to go back and go to go fetch his shot in the dark and

2:41 His fake Idol produces one on that one they're like that you never know what's going to happen and Matt really just continuing the not as bad as like a Simon in a Survivor Australia but he did have that he's lucky he had the relationship that really buoyed his character because for the longest time and I think it's almost endearing it's unlike Simon where it felt like you know it was just funny that he kept missing all the time with Matt he's so likable and the fact that he got two vote he got two tribal councils with no vote and then like he just kept yeah and he said it in all his pre-season stuff that you know I'm probably the Eric reichen back and have the goofy edit of the season and he kind of did but he kind of won the big prize with Franny even though he doesn't get a million dollars he's got a million dollars in his heart I'm sure just before we get into the power rankings here I saw a bit of commenting online with people getting tired of the SOB stories they're like what's going on like every time there's these SOB stories now survivor's been doing this for a long time and it's not the first reality TV show to bring in the backstories and the SOB stories and things like that but I think what make people maybe a little bit tired of it was the fact that we've almost gotten every single mad episode like sometimes he would get five

4:01 Or six on average confessionals one of those confessionals was about his broken heart about where he came from trying to find himself did we maybe did Survivor maybe oversell that a little bit too much for us like should they maybe just show us once or twice the whole season because it felt like with him especially they wanted to really get us to feel sad for him leaving but I'll be honest I'm not a Maddie hater I think Matty is cool I think he'd be interesting on another season but the Madden for any relationship towards the end I was like I'm kind of over it like I wasn't overly sad to see him go either when he started talking into the papaya I was like that's it for me I'm out on this guy poor man like I thought he was really sweet and endearing but and I was entertained from that perspective it wasn't like hitting my like Survivor bone like you know what I mean it wasn't like oh this is like great Survivor television it was just a really sweet thing between two people which was interesting and fun to watch it was entertaining but it's not Survivor like when we've had these discussions before about the dating reality scene and how that's not what we're into we're into competition reality and it just you know pushed in a little bit the romance side and it was kind of fun at that thing but you're right if it went for too much longer and focus

5:21 On it too much more I probably would have been out as well but for now I love Matt and Franny I'm happy for them like it was fun to watch on TV especially when you consider like some of the other stuff going on the show maybe they could have shown us more interesting things as far as strategy goes and all that but they chose to show us the relationship for a long time and a lot of it and it was nice and sweet while we had it but you're I'm with you I'm okay with it being done as well yeah well last thing before we move on from Maddie and start ranking the players in our power rankings gabler kind of pointed it out he definitely had instincts for the game he sniffed out the fact that he probably had a fake Idol and he's now tipped off a lot of people on the island that Dany most likely has the actual Idol and he's obviously got that spot on so because of that when we talk about Danny that may affect his chances in the game moving forward because he now has a Target on his back and I just wanted to give him some props as well for being able to sniff that out because a lesser player may have not been able to put two and two together now how the ranking is yeah you go ahead would you say I met was Swiss screwed yes but I will and I think that's why a lot of people are angry at what happened because of Matt ended up on the other tribe or a Franny was in the losing tribe like it could even have been friendly she could have been the collateral damage that they

6:42 Take out because they don't want soca's numbers and especially an alliance as strong as their Reliance to still remain in the game the only thing I will say to that is I have seen like I know people don't like the fact that half of the tribe didn't get to vote I actually kind of like the fact that if you've got safety in this spot because so many people were safe you know you don't get a vote I actually quite like that where only the people that are in danger get the vote but I also wanted to say Matt's screw will be getting screwed here it's not that different compared to like almost a tribe swap to be honest it's just we're just seeing it later on in the game yeah well the fact that you said there was the winning tribe in the losing tribe I think is one of the things that sat out it stood out for me in this episode is that we still haven't actually merged yeah it's like it doesn't feel like it well it's two separate tribes for the challenge and kept as separate tribes for Tribal Council and I don't know why Survivor goes we like the small tribe thing we don't want anyone to be able to make any moves we want it predictable as hell and we want five or six people maximum to ever play your part in this so just I don't know why they've got them there's you get all these opportunities for different scenarios to play out different ways to think but it came down to five people which was just the most predictable possible scenario between jam and Matt and Matt got twistered

8:02 Yeah so I saw this tweet earlier on when I posted about the interview that I did or the recap that I did and it's from Adam Klein it's a person who I have said I've given Adam not that he needs a shout out but I've given him a shout out on the Russell muscle TV podcast that we did a couple of weeks ago and I said why doesn't Jeff listen to players like Adam Klein or other greats of by the minds that have played this game before when it comes to bringing in twists in the game and he says and Adam is not a controversial guy like he's not a controversial guy at all but even he's calling up production in the spot and he's saying please Survivor Gods can we just have one normal vote where everyone gets to participate is there too much to ask for no disrespect to the cast for reasons out of their control this season is a mess Let the players play in caps leave hashtag expect the unexpected to the other show which is big brother and Adam is speaking for all of us by the way like this is how I feel about it like I get why people are annoyed I just thought ultimately there was other things that Matt could have done better you know half people been tribe screwed in the past by swapping into a tribe that shouldn't be in a hundred percent but this isn't the Survivor that we fell in love with and I don't want to make this whole power ranking around at Jeff because I don't want to be a broken

9:22 Record but Jeff has got this opinion that the more crazy stuff he throws in there the faster he spins that hamster wheel that is what people find entertaining which he's just missing it's not why we watch the show there's like I'm also a big fan of I mean this isn't this is not revolutionary I think everyone enjoys television and good television whether it's reality or scripted and I like when there's a TV show that's doing really well and I remember specifically and this is a very obscure reference but there's a TV show called oh man I don't even remember what it was called a couple years ago but the first season was so great and the reason was because the writers actually said we weren't sure if we were going to get a second season and we ended up putting three seasons worth of plot into the first season is it a Netflix show no it was a I really enjoyed the first season and it just went off the rails for me second and third season I watched the second season I was out by the third season because the writing just got so bad and I was just yeah I'm out you know well I've not watched you but I've heard this season is a bit of a reset he

10:42 Like moves to London and then starts killing people over there so there's a spoiler alert for everyone but oh even have you watched The Last of Us I saw the first three episodes and then after the first three episodes I was out yeah but I do need to go back there is one episode and it's not necessarily spoiler because it's in the game and it's just what the plot of the episode and you'll see that any review right because every TV show you get like the monster of the week or the bad guy of the week or whatever right and in this particular episode of The Last of Us they go find the bad guy of the week who happens to be a Christian pastor who is a pedophile and a cannibal and a candle and I was like oh they could have done three different Bad Guys across three different episodes in you know what I mean you don't need to put all of it in once and I feel like survivors like we've got all these great ideas I think they're really good let's just Jam them all into one season rather than saying no like a few tweaks here and there a couple of extra bits a Twist here and there really keeps us on our toes but it feels like it's just like Manic and you just like when they say expect the unexpected there's literally nothing you can expect because it's just you're constantly barraging us Jeff is so nervous right now to let players play the game and he feels like he has to manufacture moments and shocking things that get people excited about the

12:02 Show but this is for a whole different podcast but we can definitely we can we can go into this for a long time because I have had a few opportunities to rant about it and I definitely don't want to board the audience with that maybe let us know in the comments below if you want us to do a full podcast on how to fix Survivor maybe I'll get a couple of great minds onto the show and see if we can get like a bunch of different content creators to talk about it as well but moving on to the first person here that we're going to be talking yeah moving on to the first person we're going to be talking to two and it's going to be Lauren right so we're going to start from the bottom I was very low on Lauren coming into this week I felt like she could easily be chopped off because she is so close to Brandon and just knowing that she's got that extra vote which by the way she did not use in this episode she was targeted by Heidi in this episode so I feel like there could be a rivalry between the two of them which could still leave her in danger at this point in the game and I'm not overly convinced that she's got longevity in the game the one thing I do like though is that she has spoken to yam in this episode and yamyam and hers seem to have formed some sort of a connection she's now saved gam yam in this spot Carolyn and Carson knows that Heidi wanted to go against them so maybe

13:22 There are some numbers that are going to form around Lauren so maybe we can start looking at moving her away from the edge I could be open to moving her towards the bottom of spice Shack because it looks like there's some runway for her the only fear that I have is that she still has that extra advantage that everybody knows about so where would you put it there you're kind of on the edge of Splash Circle still I feel like at the bottom I feel like I personally feel like I probably at this stage if I look at the people that are ahead of her I would actually move her ahead of Jamie I would move her ahead of Brandon at this stage and I could be tempted to move up to spy Shack but that's up to you what do you think I've actually got her in the bottom spot dead last because Lauren being with Brandon and being in that ratsu trap I don't know who else she has beyond that so she was she is in that bottom group for me but because of the advantage and she's already been targeted a couple times and when you say she got that talk with Jam that was good but for me I put that as a Plus on Jam Slide the way he approached it rather than her you know initiating or doing anything so you still haven't seen too much from her and she's a Target because of that extra vote so you honestly believe Jam was drawing dead here he was he was drawing

14:43 Blanks he needed people to help him in this spot you don't believe that this is Enough from Jam to say I've had zero people this whole game outside of Carson and Carolyn who don't openly want to admit Carson doesn't at least want to openly admit he's got Jam jams back I've now got someone who has shown me that they have my back and they will vote with me you think that he won't value that enough to want to drag her along next episode I don't think it's going to be his choice when you say drag her along I think Jam being in the position that he's been in is going to be happy to not be in that position if that's the case and we'll go along with what other people say at the moment and I think she's not going to be in that equation like I don't so let me let me keep selling this to you because we're talking numbers here at this point you've had an upset Carolyn who told Heidi not to go against yamim Heidi is openly targeted yam in any case some pissed off Carolyn in the process there was a close-up on Carolyn's face you've got Carson who's got a bond with ratu because he's been on the ratu tribe right and you've got Carolyn so you don't think Carson and Carolyn in that spot were sort of outvoted by Danny and Heidi and I guess Franny you know which was The Soca group I feel like The Soca group's on the outs more so than the ratu droop at this point I don't think there's no there's no what's the incentive for Carson to go over to tosoka

16:03 He's got no allegiances to them no but this is where like because of the way the vote played out this episode with Matt going out soccer and Tikka now have three each and ratsu have four left and I think if Soca and Tikka look at the numbers and go hey they've got four we've got six right maybe they do something because [Music] yeah that's why I don't see it that way the reason I don't see it that way is because Danny has an idol and that needs to be dealt with at some point so I think that the target is going to be personally and I know this might spoil it for ahead but we're talking about this openly I do think Danny and Heidi and I really feel bad for hiding after this week because that's what screwed her more than almost anybody else this specific episode so we're going to talk about that when we get to her but I feel happy with her staying on the edge because I wasn't feeling strong enough about moving her from the edge so we'll leave it for now in my mind at the top of edge but we have to talk about the two that's behind her first let's talk about Jamie how do you feel do you feel Jamie did enough this episode to move from The Edge because I didn't see it Tammy didn't do anything I think she had a couple of like when Jam was telling his story about growing up in Puerto Rico they showed

17:24 Her close-up and the tears in her eyes and she got that moment but there's nothing they're still doing the edit where she's only had light-hearted like almost mocking like the witch thing and the magical thing like it's not serious and they haven't really shown her in a serious light beyond that little shot of her crying so I don't see her getting out of the edge she's not necessarily a threat like a branded would be but she's not also being able to do anything to get out of that spot I don't think plus again open Advantage she doesn't have an advantage she thinks she's got an idol and Carson is aware of this so when Carson thinks about his next move it's either do I take out Danny with an idol or do I take out Jaime with an idol because in Carson's mind and I say Carson because at this point he's at the top of Soul Survivor and we think that he's running things with the groups that he's working with there those groups have to think about who's the person we want to get out and you want to Blindside one of the people that you think has got an idol in the game so I'm with you on that I'm happy for Jamie to stay Rock Bottom at this stage and not move up from where she is Brandon interesting episode for Brandon obviously he continues to grow the Target on his back winning an individual immunity the specific episode so people know that he's someone physical that they do need to deal with he

18:44 Does look like a loyal guy that you can work with though there is that bit of friction between Kane and Brandon and that sometimes comes more from Brandon towards Kane where Kane is probably aware that it's not much he can do to make that up to Brandon so at some point those two are going to go head to head and Carson looks like he's close with Brandon as well based on last week's Scene we didn't see them interact this week but I don't know if I saw enough from Brandon to feel comfortable about moving him out of the edge like he didn't do anything for me this week to elevate his position except shows that he can win individual immunities but I don't think that's enough yeah and I agree with you I didn't think we saw too much from him beyond the physical challenge which puts a big attack on his back and then also the thing we saw two episodes with Danny about being like the meat Alliance and really protecting the strong ones who are usually the target early on has done nothing since I haven't seen any interaction with them so yeah I don't know and I feel like I feel like that's even more at risk now that Brendan like everybody else has found out Danny's got an idol and I don't think Danny told Brandon because he told all of us that he wasn't going to tell anyone about that so that makes Dany look not trustworthy and again this is a manufactured twist that has created

20:04 This drama and has blown up dany's game but Jake my co-host for the normal Recaps actually brought up a good point and he said that shows that there were different ways to deal with that fake Idol and obviously Matthew who went to go hide it somewhere in the jungle probably that was the better thing instead of putting it back in the cage because it was too easy for them to compare notes when they got together so there's a way Danny could have played for it's just we've never seen this twist play out on you know on the island so who knows if you're out there you're getting this twist for the very first time it's easy to think from the comfort of her own home we would make the right decision but coming back to Brandon and Danny I don't fully trust that there's enough trust between the two of them at this stage I haven't seen them looking to work together at this stage so yeah happy with that so I'm happy with lots of food at the bottom there for now yeah me too and also Brandon I think if it was me he's probably pissed off the producers as well by spoiling the fake Idol to Matt I know they would have been like just salivating at the thought of Matt playing that fake Idol and if he still had the impression that it was a genuine one maybe he didn't leave his bag and the producers were like Brandon spoiled that we didn't get I think he would have played yeah I think he would have played it he would have played it he would have played it regardless that's why he was so that's why he was so annoyed that he left his bag

21:24 At Camp because he I mean you gotta play it even if you think it's a fake idle what if it is like you got it you've got to go For Broke there's no there's no shame like the it used to be funny when someone created an idol that looked like Josh's Idol and they played it you know that used to be funny because like how can they think that beads from tree metal is an actual Idol now there's no shame in it because it's got the note it's got a replica of other Idols that are in the game it looks real I mean yeah like yeah we got a way better moment from it the better moment was the fact that he left his bag at camp and did the JT we didn't take the idol to trouble Council almost you know yeah it's not as bad as JT but still you know that was probably the better moment the fact that he didn't take his bag with him which now is going to create more drama for people in the future I mentioned that on the earlier Recaps like you know you've got to have to look at people now and say oh that person's bringing their back to immunity so maybe there's something in that bag yeah great Point great Point all right I want to move on so let's get into Franny was at the bottom of spy Shack we had her on the Edge at one point before we kind of made that last minute swap with her Franny for me is one of the bigger winners which kind of sounds weird for me this week with losing that because yes she lost her Shield yes she possibly didn't

22:45 Make a great decision and not throwing the immunity challenge because she was already immune and she could have saved Matt in that spot which a lot of people like I mean if we look at that gameplay wise I know Gable has said today that she's a champion he respects that the bitter gameplay move the better Champion move is to say listen even though I'm capable I am willing to throw it to keep an ally in the game I think she should have thrown it personally but I'm not going to Mark her down on that because I think without Matt in the game which was so clearly a number two to I heard two I see in the game she's now open for business so I do think she's got options in the game and I do think that she's got a great strategic brain so I feel like she may move her way towards the middle or top of spyshack at this stage yeah after this episode I actually had her at the top of spy Shack so I have moved her up within the same tier at least and for like you said I think not having Matt there although is an a loyal Ally that will absolutely do anything for you that's really hard to kind of discount but now she isn't seen as the couple or the relationship or that we have to break up and she can she can actually play a little bit I also really like the fact that I don't know if how like how it came across if maybe she was just that desperate or whatever but the

24:05 Fact that Heidi chose to go with her plan over Danny who had been traditionally her closest Ally says a lot about the relationship that Franny can have with people and how she gets people on there on her side and we saw Heidi like Franny was the first person Heidi told not Danny about her power thing like the controller vote power so there's there was something there in front he's obviously you know she's likable she's nice she's she doesn't seem to put anyone offside especially now that she's not sneaking off on real you know with her boyfriend on the island so she can now build those relationships even more which she's shown to be pretty good at so far yeah and I think she's going to fit in well with I've said it a few times some of the more geeky type of personalities that are out there you know the castence of the wall the carolyns of the world yam potentially I don't know how he's going to feel about you know I don't think yamyam even is going to hold this against her because yeah meow will get it I mean he was up against Matt so it's all like yeah mium's gonna have hurt feelings that she tried to save her boo out there you know all right moving on to Kane we didn't really get anything from Kane this episode like he was kind of missing on the edit based on that alone I'm actually happy with them remaining at the bottom of spy Shack I don't have much to add about his game really for this week that's actually where I had him exactly as well because

25:25 Yeah I didn't see much from him but he's not at the bottom with the others for me simply because there is that gig thing going on with Carson and that could potentially be a path but it's not a strong clear one so he's at the bottom of smashack for me yep no I think we're in agreement there so yam one of the people that continue to be the main storyline and I don't know who I spoke to I think it might have been Mucky earlier today or someone that I spoke to off air and we said yum is an interesting one because there's such a big story around him and I don't know where to place him because I don't see like I see little bits of his game going out there having a conversation with Lauren to try and save himself throw some information out there that Danny is coming for her really good gameplay so clearly he's got some game and gamemanship in the game the problem that I have for Yam is I still don't see the path right now kuna because he's continuing to be thrown out as an option and as long as yamim is an option and he continues to get votes you've got to feel like he's at risk of going home so I can't see him being above spy Shack and I can't see him being too high I do think one thing I will say at this point and my personal opinion is definitely above Heidi we'll talk about her next but I kind of feel comfortable with him being just below Franny at this point in spy

26:46 Shack this is one of the ones we disagree on after last week we were I was happy to keep him in spy Shack but this week I put him back up to top tier for me for to solve Survivor to you all right what is he doing that is giving you that impression that he's playing a winning game right now maybe I'm just one of those you know people that are influenced by the edit and what you see and stuff and they're just showing him in such a good light he comes back from Tribal Council after being on the chopping block and narrowly avoiding and he's just funny and charming and charismatic and that's what you should do when you come back from a travel Council where you're on the outs and he's like just in case you thought it was going to be awkward it is you know all that stuff and it's he's a great character yeah he's amazing and then like he tried to call the tribe Jam for someone who's on the outs who literally just nearly got voted out and said call the tribe my name is so genius and then he actually did get the tribe to call vava which was his and I actually heard that he had in pre-season interviews he called that he wanted to name the tribe when it came to merge and he actually had vava planned from the get-go that's why he knew it was Fijian for four so the fact that he did all that and they're showing it I thought was great and then as I said I like that he was

28:06 The one that approached Lauren called out Danny like putting Danny's name out there like making Lauren doubt Danny making Lauren doubt Matt and then when like he even went to Matt and said hey we should vote for that like he's just putting everything off him and considering that he's been playing from the bottom for a number of weeks now he had a couple of missteps and misspoke and approached the wrong person in Danny last week about what we're gonna do I think this week they showed him although he was at the bottom there wasn't much he could actually really do the vote was going to go the way it was going to go and he didn't really influence it I do think that they're showing he's on an upward trajectory like I said last week and he actually agreed making any steps this week I agree with you I don't think he did much wrong I think he damaged controlled really well my problem remains in the fact that I am looking if I look at the edit alone I would say yes he's a top three edited person on the show right now but I'm looking at the gameplay and where he's sitting currently with the numbers and I just don't see it like if he survives maybe one or two more votes I think he automatically jumps into Soul Survivor but I see a lot of scenarios right now where yam could still be the vote like Tikka does not have the control of this game yet there are only three does he be does he look like when you when you see him next to a lot of people considering that he's

29:26 Been on the bottom and kind of being batted around a little bit I don't think he feels like a threat to the other guys at the moment or through the rest of the players well he is they're really doing a great job at highlighting his social game which is the thing that you're pulling on to as well but it's also really dangerous because you've got people out there saying Yum is so freaking likable so they clearly know this about it and that to me makes him still a threat because not only is he a likable guy that if he gets to the end probably wins the money because everybody loves him and that's a threat he's already copying votes on him and he's an option he's in people's minds as a potential vote So based on what I've seen like I love gam yam as much as you do I just don't see him above spice check I could I could see him potentially being above Franny but for me he's not but based on what you're saying based on what you're saying you wanted to put him in Soul Survivor I think that we compromise and we put him we put him above for any because this is what we do you know we're moving one up I just don't see him like I said I feel like that's a fair spot he's definitely him and Freddie are like at the point where depending on where the next episode or two go I think they can break into Soul Survivor in the game yeah I'm fine with that as well when I say he was a soul survivor for me he was at the bottom of self survive so anyone that's like border is you know plus one minus one it's kind of fine for me I think yeah I think we're seeing we're seeing the same things okay so the last person we need to talk about here is Heidi

30:46 And this is one where we may defer yeah again where for me she's clearly on the edge right now after this week and I think that what happened with this Advantage where she's been playing like we spoke about this with gabler today she's been playing an under the radar game no one was looking at her she was Denny's right-hand person in the game now suddenly people know Danny's got an idol she suddenly has popped up and she had to make a very bold statement try and I don't think that Lauren is the kind of person that's going to take likely to the fact that Heidi took her vote from her the right that she had to vote for someone that she wanted and dictated where that vote had to go and she's pissed off yamyam in the process who she could have had that Puerto Rican alliance with the Synergy that you saw and manifested in your head was nearly there Kahuna so I feel really bad for her chances after this week I feel like she showed her hand and if people can't take Danny out whether splitting the vote they're taking our Danny's right-hand person in the game and Heidi so I'm really worried for her I strongly feel she is on the edge maybe towards the top of the edge but definitely on the edge I still have her in spyshack and I've actually I'm probably a little bit too optimistic because I do think it was just before just before you make that call I really want us to be able to

34:46 Cap Jam and Matt like she said and then it's a very different scenario so it wasn't good but what sat with me was that she seemed to they showed her taking this incredibly seriously she looked at all the angles she tried to really kind of do the right thing and I think she actually went against her instincts in voting for like getting rid of Matt in order to getting rid of yeah Matt saving Matt was against her instincts and she did it for Franny exactly yeah and Friendly's not going to get that blow back but it's going to go somewhere but people understand Freddy's motivations I think that she's showing that she's close with Franny she went to her first she did what Franny wanted against what Danny wanted they were the absolute you know opposite he wanted Lauren out so her number one in the game she went against and helped Franny so Franny goes on her like Kill Bill list and now that she's pissed off that Matt's gone and actually tries to take out aratu and she goes and hooks up with Carson and Carolyn then Heidi is a good link there as well maybe she does have that they drop that line in there I don't want to invert Out jam I have a sweet spot for him the Puerto Rican connection is something that may still be a thing

36:06 Maybe she does like I see I genuinely think that and in the in the next week on next week's episode we saw Danny and this might be the opposite thing that they do where they show something it means they're probably not going to work or they're going to get voted out but we saw Danny going to Franny we need to get some rid of some of these ratu and I think the way they're going to be able to do that is keeping circus strong and using Tikka in order to start getting the numbers from ratu off yeah I mean listen it's very hypothetical the problem that we have is that we see the game differently at the moment I think that Tikka definitely at this point you know they're three of them so they're very close to evening out the numbers you look at ratu at this point that on paper it looks like there's four of them but we know Kane's not really and with the other three we know Kanis actually take us strong we know that Carson can bring him in there's four people hiding and playing daylight right there so the bigger worry for me at the moment I think is well I guess it's hard because you can look at Jamie and Danny and say you've got to vote for both of them they both got Idols but who's more likely to win individual immunities as well as having an idol and that's Danny so I just I feel like the storyline the way that they've set it up with us finding out Danny's got that Idol you know now that's public information even Freddie might have to deal with that you know at some point

40:07 Where the game's going or nothing that stood out in any case from this episode so I really feel like Danny at this point unless he suddenly comes back in the next episode and starts doing some crazy stuff I don't think he's winning this I think he's somewhere in spy Shack I'm happy with where you put him we've got to talk about the two people at the top though do we keep the rankings the way they are how do you feel about Carson and Carolyn in the game right now it's funny that we put them at the top and we probably both agree that they should remain at the top but this was an episode where they didn't really have much power or any power and not much of an edit either for Carson anyway he was you know he still hasn't put a foot wrong like they're not showing anything going incorrectly or anything like that it just wasn't not a lot in this episode beyond the first little meeting where he reassured Jan jam and Carolyn that you know we're not a Target here like Soca and ratsu are going to go at each other so like yeah he's still fine but how it didn't show much in here to demote him either right there was nothing positive that would have pushed him he can't push him further but there's nothing that would have brought him down I am worried about the preview for next week though that was sort of very scary so at the moment after this current episode number seven I'm fine with him where he is

41:28 Yeah I listen I can't add much to that Carolyn did continue to have an edit she did continue to talk about how she felt helpless and trying to save yamyam and we can see that relationship is a strong relationship even though they sometimes butt heads and they're both crazy passionate people you know they do love each other out there and they have become this close family and I still think that Carolyn gets to the end man she wants the money edit wise like I don't see and again just by that I feel like Carson's got all these webs and different connections and he gets people to like him but I have to say if Carson and Carolyn sits next to each other at the end I could see Caroline winning I could see I have like the really good in jury speech and telling people about the game she's played that no one is seeing right now that's the problem that I would have with it is that she may come across as Jerry as talking up a game that they didn't see as much I think she gets looked down upon ignored overlooked too much but what the editors are showing us is a well-rounded character not only she has the craziness she has the facial expressions and the funny stuff that makes us laugh and that first episode just made us seem so out there but now they're rounding it out with like a full range of emotions she's not one note like Jamie where it's just one thing over and over again they're playing up that relationship

44:08 Underestimated even by you as an audience member at this point because I think that the one thing that people don't realize about her is she's played these online games she understands what she needs to say at the end she's a fan of the shows she would be good even though I do think Carson would be good as well the one thing the one problem I have of Carson still is I think people may take it personally when he cuts them starts cutting them because he's got these deep connections with people but we haven't seen him cut anyone yet so that might be an unfair assessment at this point it might be something that I'm making up in my head yeah what like no because that's a very valid concern someone who says yes to everyone eventually has to lie right so but so far he's not really they haven't shown us like him building relationships to the point where it would feel like a massive betrayal right he would they showed a couple weeks ago he was super close with Matthew who's gone out he's obviously very close with Kane and I'm wondering if like when these Cuts do have to happen he may be able to keep his hands clean a little and let the other people take do the dirty work or at least cop the blame for it as well so yeah not sure so I think I think we leave it I think we leave it for now but I'm pretty happy with that ranking it's interesting looking at it right now we've got the Tikka 3 right at the top and then we've got two soccer members we've got one ratu Three

45:28 Rod two members at the bottom and that's definitely I'll take the blame for that if I end up being completely wrong this season but I feel low on some of these players moving deep into the game I do think next week some of them could be in danger immediately but I'm kind of putting it out there I think Heidi's in trouble and if Heidi does survive for next week hats off to her hats off to her no one can tell by the way that these seasons are edited these days because we see so little of the camp life we see so little of the social dynamics we're literally talking about five minutes or 10 minutes an episode that we're reading these things into and then we talk about it for nearly 50 minutes so it's very difficult to predict where it's going to go what do you think about as we sort of finish it off here what do you think about the 90 minute episodes for Survivor years I know we spoke about it on the breaking news podcast we did but for those that didn't watch it what do you think about it yeah great absolutely like more Survivor because they're throwing so much into the show that we don't like you just said we don't get much of the camp life we don't get those little discussions and the strategy and stuff we just get you know show like producer everything is driven by production with the twist with the Challenger because of the 26 days they're doing something every single day now it's not like every second day
