Survivor 50 | Finale Recap | Winner Reaction

Podcast episode · 23 May 2026 · 1 hr 7 min

Who won Survivor 50?

Aubry Bracco won Survivor 50, beating runner-up Jonathan Young at the final Tribal Council. Joe Hunter finished third.

Episode summary

Chris and Andre react to the Survivor 50 finale, where Aubry is the winner. Jonathan finishes second and Joe third. Both hosts say Jonathan played the better strategic game, though Chris says the jury decides and Aubry should be happy with $2 million and a car. They ask whether her four seasons and her friendships with Cirie and others gave her an edge, and Andre calls it a legacy win. They think Jonathan lost the social game, and that Chrissy and Stephenie pushing for him hurt him. They compare Rizo’s legacy to Malcolm, argue about Tiffany’s thin edit, and cover Joe and the live finale, which they found rushed. They talk about Cirie’s trophy, Rick Devens as a future host, Cirie as a possible jury influence, and who could take over from Jeff Probst. The fantasy draft ends with Chris on 146 and TNT community on 108. They finish on the Survivor 51 open era and the twists they want back.

0:02 [music] [music] [music] >> Hello everyone.

0:53 Welcome back to the channel here on the Nullified Take channel. You've got myself, Chris, and Andre back for one final time to talk about Survivor 50. it's been finale week. We've missed a week of covering the show together. Plenty and plenty of things to catch up on, but Andre, I know you're a busy man as well. How have you been? >> I miss you guys. I absolutely know it's been good. cold. So, it's kind of good to sort of kick back on a on a Saturday morning with the with the heater on and just talk some Survivor. >> Yeah, it's cold in Melbourne as well. I've just got the heat cranking in the house right now. So, that's why I'm in a t-shirt rather than a hoodie like yourself, Andre. but, you know, I'm glad to hear that you've enjoyed the season. You've enjoyed coming on to the Nullified Take channel, you know, once a listener, someone who's followed from the sidelines.

1:43 You've come on board. You've covered the season. What has that been like for you being a part of the community in a completely different way this season? Do you Did you like it? Like overall, it was a good experience? >> Yeah, it was super fun. Like I always love to just pop in sort of when you used to get when you used to be doing it with Aubry and the and the and the crew. But yeah, it's good to actually voice some of my opinions because I think sometimes I have hot takes. So, it's kind of good to get on the record that I'm pro wrong most of the time. So, that's been really fun. >> [laughter] >> It's one of the fun things about the season has been that there that we've had consensus on a lot of things, but we've also seen the game differently sometimes. Like, we've played devil's advocate to each other's devil's advocate in some of the episodes. And that's been fun. I think what makes it sometimes boring is when you come on to the show and you just have the same take.

2:35 And I think that Survivor 50 is a great example of how divided the fans can be sometimes because Aubry's first season she goes out there. She plays a phenomenal strategic game. People a lot of people thought she should have won that game instead of Michelle. And then she comes back a couple of times doesn't have the same sort of game or couldn't kind of quite repeat what she did the first time around. And then people kind of cool down on her a little bit. And then she comes in on this season, wins the season. And I'm hearing a lot of the opposite where Jonathan is potentially the Aubry of this season. And Aubry's potentially the Michelle of this season. It just shows you how divided we as a fandom can be and how we all have our own hot takes and opinions about how a season should play out. But ultimately, what matters is what the jury thinks at the end, Andre. >> Yeah. It reminds me of that meme where it's like you know, Aubry haters and Tony lovers I can both agree that Michelle deserves to come second.

3:28 >> [laughter] >> It's kind of the same way with Aubry. So, it's I'll be interested a little bit later to talk about the reputation and where this in the grand scheme of things. But yeah, I mean my take with the winner, I guess I think we're both in agreement she did not have a good start to the season. So, we kind of sort of and you can kind of clock on, you know, if she doesn't get voted off and she starts off really badly. This is kind of like the story line where it's kind of like the ugly duckling that turns into a swan type of arc, which you could sort of see with a, you know, halfway through the season. Although it was a generally a satisfying sort of winner. Probably the best out of the final five. Probably should have won. But the middle the middle game was a little bit rough there for us, I feel. >> I think we're going to disagree in the finale. I think Jonathan played a better game and I think he probably should have won, but it doesn't matter.

4:22 >> I think he did as well, but, you know, >> But it doesn't But it doesn't matter what I think and it doesn't matter what you think. The jury didn't agree with us and I think and I don't want to take away from Aubry. Like, you know, I know that a lot of the Survivor players look at the content that people put out there. They're probably not going to come across our little podcast, but I don't want to add and pile on whatever the sentiment is out there on the internet about her win, you know. For me, at the end of the day, if you win, you win and you should be happy that you've got $2 million and a freaking car that you can take home after this. I mean, she's the big winner and she should be happy. It doesn't really matter what you or me think, but we still have opinions as fans. We watch the show and we've got a take and we'll talk about that here in this live recap. So, let's say hello to a few people. Chris is in the live saying this season was something. I feel like we should elaborate on that something, Chris. And then Jay is saying this season is such a let down, but congrats to Aubry.

5:13 So happy for her. And you can be happy for Aubry. I mean, if I look at her and we'll talk about legacy and things like that, it does feel satisfying when you don't just look at the season in isolation, but if you look at her body of work across the four seasons that she's played. Christian is saying hello. She should not have won. Kaoh Rong Michelle deserved it. See, so the school of fans are very divided on this. Congrats to Aubry. I thought she thinks she thinks I won the season. Coming in hot. Coming in hot here on >> She was last on our drafts, so >> [laughter] >> Yeah, that's true. this is sucks May winner Survivor 50 Aubry deserved the win and Jonathan facing multiple time player. Hello everyone. Hey Georgette. Aubry was it was a Debbie Downer her strategy was to kiss up to production so she gets invited over and over again.

6:03 By something I mean that it had some fun highs but a ton of draining lows. I've missed a lot of the lives from Yul so I don't know your thoughts but I felt so exhausted by the season. I'm sorry to hear that Chris. Like I [clears throat] think for the most part And this is a great topic to get into Andre. Like does the winner ultimately matter? Like does a season become better or worse based on the outcome of the season in your mind? And obviously everybody's got their own take on that but do you think that if the winner is an controversial winner that the season sort of goes down? >> It I think it makes a big difference. Me and we're not want to admit it but like let's be honest like season 40 wasn't the greatest season in the world if Tony hadn't won. Right? Like we would not have enjoyed it as much if someone else had won if maybe Natalie Anderson won. We probably would have been like ah it was okay.

6:54 It was good but you know winners but you know that probably would bring it down. I think it's the same thing here. I mean I'm not a fan I'm not a fan of Aubry. I think that her win comes out as more of a win that's based around her like her history. So the fact that she has all this history legacy. It's like a kind of like a legacy win. It's kind of like oh Aubry quote unquote should have won her season even though you know the person that wins should win, right? I think that her calling out sort of the past winners and saying Sandra told me this, you know, Sarah told me this. Chris Underwood told me this. I think that was like a kind of like a legacy win for there and it kind of like it answers the questions like should Aubry should have won her season? The answer is no, because Michelle won, but then you can't go ahead and be like, you know, Aubry shouldn't have won this season.

7:47 Well, she won. Jonathan might have played a technically better game, but I think that sort of closes that question in my opinion. >> Wow. Very interesting to see some of the comments coming in here in the live, and I agree with you, by the way, on your take there. putting Aubry, and I haven't really thought about this, in the bottom four winners of all time with Chris Underwood, which people love the Chris Underwood win. I feel like you can't rank Chris Underwood against the rest of the winners. He played such a different game, being able to come back, and he played the best game that he could have played with the Edge of Extinction being in play, basically. >> My question is, did they know that Edge of Extinction was in play? They didn't know until sort of they went there, right? >> Mhm. >> I think that's why a lot of people Like, if it was if like Natalie Anderson, and Natalie Anderson's like, "I don't care, I'm going to win anyway." She knew the Edge of Extinction was going to come back, and if she had won, she would be a better sort of winner than Chris Underwood.

8:42 But I think the fact that she he got voted off without knowing, you can never say. I think that's probably the reason why they have him as number one. >> Yeah, prob- probably. And I mean, Rick Devens came back, and people loved Rick Devens that season. And if he won, I think people would have said he was deserving still, because he came back in the mid- midway point of that season, rather than right at the end, which they definitely shouldn't have had a second person come back in what was it, like final six or final five or something. >> asterisk. It's definitely an asterisk win, for sure. >> 100% so Natalie White, Aubry, and Amber Mariano all also being put into this. Do you think this is fair, or are we >> I think the Amber take is a little bit harsh. I think that there's others, like Fabio probably didn't win as well as Amber did, to be honest, cuz Amber did kind of run the game with Boston Rob. And she knew she was going to go to the end with him, too. So, I think it's maybe a little bit harsh on Amber.

9:33 >> Yeah, I think it's been harsh on Aubry to a certain degree, as well. Like, Zooderman here says, "You also have people like Bob, Fabio, and Ben. I enjoyed Fabio's win personally, but there were times that he was absolutely clueless as to what was going on in the game." >> Mike, I also want to add Mike there, too. >> Yeah, you see it and for me, I don't agree that Ben and Mike are bottom winners. I actually really enjoyed their wins. I don't take away from them getting idols or winning immunities. I actually mark them up because of that. But it's again, it's how the fans were divided. >> Wait, I think with Mike for me, it was the fact that he I he isolated himself so badly during the auction. That was just like such a unforced error. >> Yeah, that's a fair call. so, Chris's win just pissed me off. How are you going 75% of the season? That was crazy. A lot of people talking about other seasons, I guess here, and how it turned out. But let's talk a little bit about the Aubry win because we have gone straight into it.

10:25 We may as well address it. do you feel like she had this massive leg up compared to Jonathan and Joe who were new school players that haven't played with any of these other players before? There was no history there. There was no like basically Jonathan as a two-time player went up against Aubry, who has played four times, and potentially players like Cirie and Ozzy and these legends of the game that have played multiple times. They didn't look at this season in isolation. They looked at it, "This is Aubry. This is a friend." Like apparently Cirie and Aubry are very close outside of the game. They've been to each other's house. All those kind of things obviously played a massive impact, and we know how influential Cirie could be on a jury to turn people around. Like her aura, like we saw it on the island. And there's a game that is played in the jury house as well that we didn't see potentially this season.

11:16 Do you think that there was just never a chance for a Jonathan or a Joe to come in here and take this win because Aubry just had this body of work that they could not compete with, and it wasn't about this season. This was about Survivor legacy. >> No, well, first of all, like Joe was never going to win. So, it really a two-horse race. if you think about and I'm thinking specifically about the Jonathan and Tiffany relationship and there were things that you we didn't see. It's all hearsay, but there was some sort of like there was a lot of controversy there. If you take it in that lens where there might have been like Tiffany just hated Jonathan because of some things he said or it was kind of like maybe a little rough. Jonathan could have run like run the perfect strategic game. I would argue he probably played a close to a good strategic game as he possibly could, but I think he lost out on the social. you know, he deliberately instigated D. he said some off-color things to Tiffany.

12:07 Or so she says, but you know, you at this stage you kind of have to believe her cuz she was on the jury. So, it's like it gets to a stage where I don't think it was like the oh, you know, Aubry won because she's friends with a few of these people. I think she's like it's just that Jonathan was a little bit too rough around the edges. It's very similar to the Boston Rob win sorry, loss in All-Stars, right? There's a lot of parallels there where, you know, he rubbed a few people the wrong way and there was kind of like some pretty harsh words said to him about him on the jury. It's you know, and it's the reason I'm making that comparison is Boston Rob kind of trained Jonathan this season. So, I thought that the parallels was really interesting. So, no, I like I like I said, I think he played a really good strategic game, but socially he like he clearly fell short. >> Yeah. The one thing that I think the edit in the show and it's so hard to your point there's conversations that are happening that we're not aware of.

13:03 We don't know what happened in the moments that we didn't see on camera between Tiff and Jonathan and other players on the on the beach as well. And obviously at the end of the day it is a social game. People vote for the person they like at the end more so than the person who was the strategic mastermind. We saw this all the way back in Samoa and it's been true ever since, right? if you don't make people feel good about your win and it doesn't feel like a win to them with you winning, they're not going to vote for you know? And I think a lot of people looked at Aubry as a as a winner that would almost feel like a win to them as well because the big alpha male Jonathan guy who ate rice before and put his hands in the dirty hands in the rice before went into the pot. Those little things do matter. Even if you played like a perfect strategic game, which Jonathan didn't play. I thought he played the strongest strategic game out of the three that were there at the end because he did control he was in on most of the votes.

13:54 He didn't control all of it, but he was definitely more in control of the flow of votes and in most cases voted correctly compared to an Aubry who was zigging and zagging throughout the game and sort of went where all the power was, but never really had almost felt like influence. But she did definitely have a really good point on the Ozzy vote. I think she kind of nullified, you know, pun intended there, the whole Ozzy conversation about Jonathan being the one who drove that vote. I thought that went really well. And then another thing that was interesting for me on this finale, Andre, was how much Chrissy and Stephanie like >> Stephanie >> really pushed Jonathan for the win. They didn't even ask questions. And if I was a jury member, that would put me off. Like if I was sitting there and I had someone so much advocating so hard for this one person about why they're so great, they're the full package, and all these things.

14:47 I felt like both of them, and especially Stephanie, probably did more damage to Jonathan's chances at the end than good with that sort of pitch. >> Yeah. I mean, I think we've seen that historically as well, right? Wasn't like Spencer really, I think it was Spencer, was really talking up Tony and Cass. Like, I don't even want to vote for Tony because Spencer is sticking up for him. So, I kind of makes sense. I mean, as a jury member, I probably wouldn't be swayed by somebody else like really advocating. I'll vote for whoever I wanted to vote. And I wouldn't let other jury members sort of like influence you. And that's just me. And you know, if you have someone like Cirie that's sort of like, you know, it's Cirie sort of advocating for somebody, we've seen her play the game. She's going to be the same way on the jury. She's going to She's going to sort of basically get whoever she wants to win to win. And actually, what would be quite interesting, of every single season that Cirie has played, how many times did she vote for the winner?

15:43 Is my question. I think I feel like it's been every single time, right? >> Well, it makes you wonder how much of an influence Cirie has on the jury to be able to always win for the or vote for the winner because I think that Cirie she just because she's not in the game, she's playing the game. She's playing the game at the jury. Like she's playing it there with people trying to gather votes, let's vote for this person. I think they played a good game because of X, Y, and Z. We've seen her do it on the island. I think we would be naive to think that game isn't playing out in a jury villa basically after the game. >> Very interesting question. If Rizo was there instead of Aubry Anna, that wouldn't have happened cuz Rizo would have win. but if Rizo was there instead of Aubry, does Rizo win? Because it's like in the in the point of Cirie, would Cirie want Rizo to win at that stage or would she >> It's a really It's a really good question and I haven't thought about that before we came on the live because >> [snorts] >> in my mind Rizo was never going to make the finale.

16:40 I just couldn't see him winning. Fire. we didn't know Fire was going to be a thing, but I thought somehow I just >> immunity though, somehow. >> Yeah, but if yeah, if Rizo was in the final, and let's say Rizo sits next to Jonathan and Joe. I think yes. I think Rizo could have won that. But Ozzy wasn't happy with Rizo, but I felt like Cirie understood the game move behind why Rizo had to take him out. Rizo did a really good job at diffusing the whole situation with Cirie after the fact. So, I think she could have brought Ozzy down and could have get it him on board with voting that way. Yeah, and then I think that a lot of them just didn't want I feel like this was a vote against Ozzy for I not Ozzy against Jonathan for a lot of them as well. I think a lot of them there's this thing about I think intrinsically if you see a guy that's he's a good looking guy, he's tall, he's muscular, he's this alpha guy, plus he's a bit he was a little bit braggy at times.

17:40 I can't like the you know like just the way he comes across it's almost like you're already winning at exactly not just on the belt. I think that people don't necessarily want to see a Goliath win. They want the David to win. And I felt like Rizo would have been the David. He would have been the underdog. Like I don't know which podcast I listened to after the finale where they said this is the era of the underdogs. I think it was Rob Cesternino said we're going through an era of underdogs. Like the winners of Survivor in the new era are normally the underdogs. It's not the Goliaths. And I felt like Rizo would have fallen into that very well. But if Rizo and Aubry went against each other I think Aubry still wins. >> Yes. >> no I I better the question is where did like does Rizo replace Joe or does Rizo replace Jonathan? Cuz Jonathan and Aubry could have split votes because and then so yeah there's there could have been that would have been actually a very interesting sort of final where it's like Jonathan, Rizo, and Aubry.

18:33 I mean so Aubry probably would have won most of them. But I mean Joe's at that stage Joe's just dead weight. He's kind of like Troyzan in game changers where he's like now nobody wants to talk to me. >> Yeah. Yeah, Jay's saying pretty much the same thing as us. Most of the jury wouldn't have voted for him if Aubry was there, but if it was against Joe and Jonathan he would have had a better chance. And yeah, like what's your thoughts on I guess since we're talking about Rizo we can touch on him very briefly here. Two-time fire loser, fire making loser. Where does this leave Rizo's legacy in the game? Like do you think that it seems like Jeff really loves him? Like Jeff talking to him saying, "Hey, there's an eight-year-old eight-year-old kid that's watching you play right now and it's going to get inspired by you." Where do you think he sits? Do we see Rizo becoming the first three-time player of the new era?

19:24 Do you think that's pretty much a lock at this stage? Cuz no season 52 potentially could be another returning season. >> I think it's either Q or Rizo. I don't see anybody else. I mean, maybe Kyle might be playing a game because he But anyway, I think >> Tiff? >> I could see Tiff. I'm I'm good with Tiff for now, but you know, I guess it's up to it's up to Jeff, I guess, at this stage. I think Rizo's legacy sort of fits somewhere below Amanda and will definitely Rupert. Cuz sort of like you've got Rupert, Amanda, and I guess Russell Hantz and Malcolm. So, probably around sort of like maybe just below that tier, like probably very close to where Malcolm was in terms of his legacy. Cuz like well, Malcolm and Rizo kind of like they're not I mean, they're not similar players, but they had a kind of like similar arc where Malcolm kind of lost like lost the last immunity challenge and got basically destroyed by everyone else.

20:26 What was it? The shaky and it was like I just saw a lot of parallels there. So, I think his legacy is good and really I think it's his third time playing which will really cement where he ends up. He could like end up with like Malcolm where he doesn't really like go that far in his third season and then we kind of go back >> be like Russell. Could be like Russell or could be like Russell Hantz played Russell Hantz played his third time, people know what it knew what his game was about, they just didn't let him sit there and I find it difficult to believe that any smart But I mean, the one thing Rizo's got that Russell didn't have is like I think Rizo actually, even though he's annoying, people do like him and they do see him as like a little brother. They'd be wanting to work with him to a certain degree. So, he might be able to skate by the first couple of Like he had a lot of heat coming in season 50. Like he had no friends. People didn't know about his game. They didn't know if he was going to be this devious player. Like I felt like him getting this deep in the game is actually quite impressive.

21:19 Like I've got to give him his flowers because he could have easily been out pre-merge. but I'd be very interested to see what happens in the third time around. Now that people have seen him play, like how does he >> without an immunity idol, too, because both of his sea- both of his seasons actually were very similar where early on I gave it around like the merge like Ricard kind of like he was in a bit of trouble actually cuz he was voted in the alliance where then he got the idol and then they he kind of rode out that idol and one could argue that people just let him by because they didn't think that Ricard was a threat. I see That's why I wanted Ricard to be at the end cuz I wanted to see if Ricard was a threat. And I'll be happy like I'll be happy not to see Ricard in a while. I'll be happy if like Meaning I want to see Ricard in like 10 years time when he's like a 35-year-old and is a little bit more mature, maybe isn't like super skinny where he like loses all this energy by the end of the game.

22:12 I want to see him like a jacked Ricard. Like a 35-jacked Ricard cuz I think that player would be like probably like an all-time great player. It's just that I think this is too early to see Ricard. >> Jay agrees with you. Says Malcolm he's going to be like Malcolm. He's going to be invited back every couple of seasons. Chris believes that there won't be many returning seasons, so it's not a priority anymore. I think Jeff came out recently and said we're doing it sooner rather than later. And since then there's been speculation that 52 might be another returning season. So, I do hope that Jeff looked at this season because even though the outcome of it, the winner, was kind of disappointing for some and I do want to acknowledge that there is a lot of Aubry fans out there as well who's probably really happy that she finally got this win. I actually liked her in her first season and I actually do I'm still happy for her that she got it across the line, but it could have been a I don't know, like would a Jonathan wouldn't have been better?

23:04 Debatable, you know, at this stage. Like >> I think Tice should have won. >> Yeah, exactly. He's Tice should have definitely won the first season. Robbed. >> By the way, what about him coming back? >> Yeah. >> Bring him back. >> The ship may have The ship may have sailed on him. I don't know how old Tice would be by now, but Yeah, I was going to say I'm hoping that there is more returnee seasons because I do think returnee seasons bring a different element. People play their game play is elevated. They have scars from previous seasons. People want to right the wrongs. There's these redemption arcs. It is just more juicy. It is just more fun for me personally to watch returning seasons because we've got this history with these players. And in some ways I was very happy like even though I was like, I don't know if I like this winner that much. I was There was a part of me under it that was actually really happy for Aubry. I can only imagine how much this would have meant for her. Losing the game so many years ago and finally getting the W in this season.

23:56 Like that must be satisfying. >> Yeah, it's been 10 years, right? Like we've been watching we've been watching for this long for more than that this long and I think we're all here debating whether or not like you know, Aubry should have won or if Shonee should have won. So it's actually kind of it's satisfying in a way that sort of you watch a TV show for like a series for 10 years you finally see what's under the hatch and Lost or something like that. It's kind of like the same way where it's like we actually got a very satisfying conclusion to that question. It's like everybody is satisfied because you think that Aubry shouldn't have won, then it's consistent. Aubry should have won this time because she did win, right? But if you're a contrarian, you can never say the reverse. So it's kind of like it's balanced. It's yin yang. It's perfectly balanced as things should be, right? >> Yeah. Now, I do want to touch on something because my ears perked up when you said this.

24:48 You don't seem to me like you're a Tiffany fan. Talk to us about it. What what's the consensus here when it comes to Tiffany, her game plan, how she played this season, how she went out cuz I know she was a bit spicy going out, but I don't blame her for that. >> Yeah, well, I want to clarify that I'm not a fan of Tiffany as a character, as a TV character, not as a person. Like, that's I don't know what Tiffany is like and that's my point. >> like that I feel like that's the good I feel like that's the really good thing about us because we don't follow these players on social media afterwards. We don't know them as people and even their social media personalities, we don't even know if that's the real them, right? So, we're talking about the game plan and the character for sure. >> Yeah. And the portrayal. So, the point is that we didn't see her in the first part of the season and that's nothing against Tiffany, it's against the editors, right? We didn't know anything about her game play and it didn't seem like she had like the biggest the best game play in the world.

25:38 Like, it was for me it was jarring that they said, "Oh, Tiffany is like a big threat." I'm like, "What?" What are you talking about? Like, I didn't see any of that stuff. but yeah, I think the thing that I referenced before was I think it was like a I saw her like a short clip by Jonathan. Oh no, it was Tiffany it was Tiffany that was saying this. Tiffany said that he said some very sexist things and that's why she was like really upset. so, it was in the I felt like she was pretty abrasive in the tribal council. and she was like, you know, I think she was even clapping back at like Stephanie, which I you know, I get, you know, it was kind of annoying, but I just found it more annoying that Steph that Tiffany was like, "Are you going to ask a question?" But I under that context it sort of made a lot of a lot of sense. So, for me it was kind of like this weird character that we didn't understand anything about and then all of a sudden she comes up as a threat and then it just it makes the entire arc of the entire season not make any sense at all.

26:33 If we had seen Tiffany early on being a very good social player, not just, you know, being a good social player to like three. It's actually one episode. I think we that would have been a lot more interesting considering that she was like she was like the fallen angel, right? So, I was just a lot upset by the like the lack of the lack of editing. I think the entire season we were saying Tiffany's not going to win. Tiffany's no way Tiffany can win. >> Yeah, we kind of discounted her. >> Exactly. And it just made this entire finale just kind of like lackluster cuz like if Tiffany's not going to win, Joe's not going to win. Jonathan might win, but probably not. It's going to be Aubry. So really I don't understand what they were thinking what the editors were thinking. Like did what did it what did Tiffany do to Tiffany do to piss off the editors? >> Yeah. And it's interesting like for me personally I really like Tiffany. I think she brings a different kind of and again I'm not going to like I don't know about the comment about the sexism and things like that.

27:29 And I don't even know if it's true. It might be true. Who knows? Like did he say similar things to other women out there or was it just towards her because if it's only one person that's saying that >> Apparently on 42 there were rumors of him saying stuff like that. >> Yeah, so maybe there is some truth to it. And we will never know. We weren't out there. She had an experience so we got to take that for what it's worth. But I want to take that out of the account and I just want to look at what she brings to the show as a character. I think she does bring something very different Andre to the show where she does wear her heart on her sleeve. Like when she got voted out she was bitter. And I definitely don't want 12 Tiffany's out there. But I think she's got a role to play in the biggest scheme of things when it comes to making an entertaining show. I don't want everybody to be exactly the same. I also don't want 12 Tiffany's out there. I don't want 12 Chrissy's out there. I don't want 12 coaches out there. I feel like she's got a niche and I do think that the competitive side that we saw in her, the one that won like three individual immunities, is also there the clap back side of her, the one that feels like she's still fighting very hard towards the end.

28:30 And she will mature. She will come back and play a couple of times and understand that this is part of Survivor. This was the second time ever playing. Probably felt really betrayed at the end there. And that and I from a lot of the things that I'm hearing from you it to me feels like your real gripe isn't with Tiffany that much. >> No, I liked her. >> I liked her in 46. Her and what's her >> production. >> good character. Yeah, exactly. I think it's Yeah, exactly. If we would have seen 46, Tiffany, I would have liked it, you know, her trying to manage Q. She seemed like the most sane person out of alliance. >> Well, I mean, >> you know, 46 was full of insane people, so it's kind of like not a high bar, but you get my point, right? It's like if we had seen that Tiffany, I would and I think that Tiffany was out there. We just didn't see it. I think Chris is really, right here. That's like that's my gripe. It's the under editing of her. I'm sure that there are parts of Tiffany that we should have seen where if we had seen her relationship with Cirie a little bit more, I think everyone would have loved her a lot more and they would have actually considered her a real threat to win it.

29:27 It would have added some suspense into the emotion. I knew when they were doing the emotion, I knew who was going to win. Like this wasn't interesting to me. So it's kind of like a lot of a lot of the good the good aspects of the finale was just taken away from me because specifically of the under editing of Tiffany. >> Yeah, there were there was definitely things, like Zudu says here with her being blindsided with D but still found a way to the top five. I think there's parts of her game that on purpose we weren't shown. Like we know it's show they need to show. They need to make it appealing, for us to root for Jonathan at the end, for us to root for Aubry potentially at the end. They probably focused more on some of the moves that those characters might cuz they were ultimately going to get there, but we also know that Tiffany and Aubry had some sort of working relationship that started in the pre-merge and that they were checking in with each other throughout the time. I think there was talks about this in the off season already that they that they did do that, but there's lots of things we didn't see throughout the show.

30:20 I just like Tiffany because I do think she's a great narrator. I do find some of the comments that she makes about other players and situations in the game funny. Like when I look at her stuff, it's like, ah, she's got a great personality. And I do think that we were robbed of more Tiffany this season. But also to give the production team a little bit of grace here, they did turn around and start giving us more and more tip content as we got to the merge portion of the game. There were 24 players out there this season, Andre. It is very difficult to give everybody their justice. Like if we had to compare the Australian season 50 production team against what I can't talk about the last Australian Survivor season, but if I talk about how Australian Survivor has been edited historically also with 24 players, I actually think Survivor 50 in the US did a much better job this season at giving way more people an edit than what the Australian Survivor season normally does cuz in Australian Survivor, they normally focus on the four top players and that's it.

31:16 You almost never There's certain players that you never hear from. It's very one-sided editing. >> There is a difference though in that the Australian Survivor sometimes people outside the top four will win. So there is still And you know, it's not as satisfying. I totally agree with it, but I think every Australian Survivor season finale always ends with a banger. Where it's like you don't know who's going to win. It's like completely up in the air. And they often have people like I'm thinking George's second season, right? The winner there. Right? Like it's a you never you would never see that coming. Whereas here it's like if someone doesn't get an edit, they're not going to win. Like even Chris Underwood on Edge of Extinction, for some reason they would pan to him and he would be fighting with like Reem or something. You're like, why we're watching Chris Underwood fight with Reem? Like what It's kind of like in the finale you think back to that and you're like, oh well, Chris Underwood can definitely win cuz we saw a lot of him on Edge of Extinction.

32:10 So I think that's the difference between American Survivor and Australian Survivor. Whereas like American Survivor they do try to edit a little bit more balanced, but they will never edit a winner like without There's always going to be like the Michelle, I won't be carried, bro, you know? Like that moment where it's like that is a winner's quote, right? They don't really have that in Australian Survivor, which is, you know, pros and cons, I guess. >> Yeah. Zukerman saying I have to watch Redemption. It was very good. So now that Survivor US is finished, I'll try and see if I can circle back and go and watch that season and especially cuz it's Dave's first season as host. I'm really interested to see how he goes. Lots of rumors out there for Australian Survivor as well at the moment, but we won't go on too much on into that >> Maybe a different podcast. >> Maybe a different podcast cuz we don't want to we don't want to sidetrack the conversation. But okay, so who have we spoken about? We've spoken about Aubry, we've spoken about we've spoken about Romeo.

33:05 We've spoken a little bit about Jonathan. Is there anything else you wanted to add on Jonathan, the runner-up for this season? Anything that you feel like should be said, I guess in regards to his game? >> I think we I think we covered it. Like yeah, he did make the comment it's like third time's a charm. So, we're probably going to see him back sooner rather than later as well. And I think that Jeff wants him back, too. I think >> Can I make a Can I Can I Can I give a hot take on Jonathan? And I'd be happy to be wrong about this. I don't think Jonathan ever makes it to the final. Again, I think this was his season to win. Like he's just too big of a threat. I just can't see future season players that will want to play with him, but it's going to be the classic thing as soon as it gets to the merge there's going to be let's cut him. >> Yeah, interesting. I think I think he does get to I think he can get to the end. Like statistically I don't know if he can, like statistically speaking, but I think he has the capability to.

33:58 He's not like a He's not Cirie, right? When nobody's ever going to let Cirie get to the end ever in >> [snorts] >> and he can win. Yeah. So, and plus like losing the finals, I think that losing the finals actually increases the chances you're going to get to the final again cuz people know nobody's going to vote for this guy, right? Like if I'm if I'm playing with like Troyzan, Jonathan, you know, these people in this like, you know, Joe. If you if you play Russell, right? You always bring Russell to the end, right? Because you know that you Russell's never going to win. So, I think that's kind of like the same logic applies. >> So I don't want to see like I like Jonathan. I've got no problems with him. I think he's great like a great survivor, competitor. He changed his game this season, it should be said. I know some people said that he didn't learn from his last mistakes.

34:50 And I think there's certain personality things that probably he is still who he is, but I thought he played a much more strategic game this season. He kept the door open with a lot more players throughout the season. He didn't just lock himself in with his two or three people, you know, like he was willing to work with the likes of an Aubry and other people throughout the season, even when he was losing cuz we should also mention that he lost most of his close alliance members heading in towards the end. So, I thought he was much more flexible this season, which was good to see and all of that, but there's like I mean, if they bring Jonathan back for another time and they don't bring him back Dom, then what are we doing, Andre? Like I mean, there's other players that have been close that deserves to come back more so than Jonathan. I don't I think similar to Rizo. I don't need to see Jonathan until season what? 60? Like maybe 58 or something like that. Give it some time. >> Brains versus Brawn 2 or something called Brains versus Brawn, BBB, you know, he's clearly a brawn.

35:43 If they ever have it like another theme where it's like Brains versus Brawns or BBB. >> David versus Goliath David versus Goliath 2 and the Goliath's are the winners, David's are the runner-ups. Let's get them out there. Let's Let Jonathan be a David. I feel like that would be what we need to see out there, you know. Let him be a David in a season against Goliath's who are former winners of the game. >> [laughter] >> Yeah, that would that wouldn't be too bad, actually. I would I think the irony there. >> You see this big guy with the day tribe David and the brawn. That would be amazing. But, no, I think like I like Jonathan. I wouldn't mind seeing him again, but I think let's give it some time. Joe, what can we talk about when it comes to Joe in this game? Like I think Joe's a great human being outside of the game, and I think his moral compass is great for the real world, and I'm sure like as a human being outside of this game, he's the kind of like model citizen you would like to live up to be.

36:38 Joe's not made for Survivor, though. Like I feel like we don't need to see Joe again, surely. >> No, we don't. But like I wanted to talk more about with Joe, like why how can he keep on like I don't even say he's controlling the game, but why does people everybody have to babysit Joe? Why do they need to combat? Just vote Joe out. I don't understand. It's like if you had somebody like Yul or something, you would get rid of Joe straight away cuz it's like no, we can't like this is not this is a variable we can't keep around, you know? I just didn't get it, especially in season 50. Why would you keep Joe around where it's like he's so like in malleable, if that's a word? Like why Like I just find that like that's a fascinating case study on like on psychology on why do you keep Joe around in any of these situations? Is it that they think Look, [snorts] Joe's never going to win, let's keep him around.

37:29 But still, you don't want him to be dictating. And he did dictate a lot of the votes in both 48 and 50. So I just didn't understand that at all. There's something there. >> I think that's I think it's this whole thing that people believe that like in a in a new era of Survivor where alliances aren't really a thing anymore, and people feel like they need to backstab and betray their closest ally to have a resume and sit at the end and win the game. I feel like you almost are looking for people like Joe where you're like he's clearly preaching loyalty to the end, old school style. If I keep him in the vote, if I can cater to his beliefs in the game, and I can get him on board with how we need to move in the game, at least he's not going to turn against me, and I know that there's a bunch of other sharks out here who would love the opportunity to take a stab to say I've taken out my number one or my number two.

38:23 So, I've got the resume to win the game. You know, like cuz that's a narrative that I feel like in the new era was quite strong and it's starting to disappear a little bit now as we get towards the end of the 50s and going into the new era of Survivor, but maybe that is something that is out there where people just feel like they can trust them and they feel like even though he's difficult to deal with, he's not going to turn against them. Even though this season he did turn against a lot of people and it was >> He turned against everybody. >> Yeah, and it was good it was good to see him earn that. It was good for him. I thought he did well in the finale by saying, yes, I didn't stick to my moral compass of the first season that I played basically, you know. >> Yeah. I think it was Johnny Fairplay that was saying Yeah, I think it was Johnny Fairplay that was saying on his podcast something to the tune of you don't like even though he owned everything we you kind of don't know if he's telling the truth if he actually believes it.

39:17 It's kind of like the Chris from Survivor from Vanuatu where he was like just kissing everybody's ass. You don't know if Joe was just saying, look, I lied. I own it and it's like, do you really, Joe? We don't really believe you here. So, it to me it came across a little bit disingenuous to be to be honest. I you know he was never going to win and I think what was it Chris in the comments was saying that it's because he's easy to you know to take to the end and beat. I agree he's easy to beat against in the end. But I would push back on the fact that he's easy to take because if he disagrees with you once he's probably not going to vote with you. Like that's the thing. That's what I have the hesitation about. If I'm like Rick Devens I'll be trying to get out vote every like Joe every single vote because I know that Joe is never going to be on my side ever.

40:10 Like he would out of principle vote again vote the opposite of me just out of principle. So, that's that was my point. It's kind of like it doesn't seem in the game rational, if that makes sense. >> Yeah. Yeah. what did you think of the finale? Did you like seeing the live finale again after so many years? you know, I know Jeff came out and said he's not going to be doing more live finales. I feel like he might be scarred from >> I wonder why. Is he going senile? Like what's going on here? I think it's Colin Stone had a conspiracy theory that actually kind of makes sense where that was a stage. Like that was staged because it's like historically one of the most lopsided fire making challenges. It's not Everybody knew who was going to win like immediately. so, nobody really cared about the outcome. And it was like it kind of felt like they were manufacturing a viral moment because that's what Like that is like the iconic moment of the finale of maybe of the season.

41:05 So, everybody's talking about that. So, it actually like if you think about it, actually it's pretty savvy to be like, "Oh, let's put together this like this mess up by Jeff." And it's like how can they even mess something like that up? Surely you have people in the ear saying, "Why even bring out Rizz to begin with?" before >> Yeah. Doesn't make any sense. Doesn't make any sense. >> I'm pretty sure I'm pretty sure it was like set up. >> How many years has it been since he's done a live finale? Has it been like how many years? >> 39. >> 39 was the last time? >> Yeah, it was before Winners at War. >> So, like 6 years at least? >> Yeah, cuz Winners at War was supposed to be. So, it would have been 2019, yeah. So, like 6 and 1/2 years or so. >> Yeah. I feel like he's out of practice. I feel like he's out of practice when it comes to the live the finale the live for me as well. I don't know how you felt about it, but it did feel really rushed. Like it didn't really feel like we >> 5 minutes long, yeah.

41:56 It wasn't It wasn't a reunion. They should have just like just kept the immersion in. Don't cut back and forth between Jeff and just have the reunion at the end. I mean, you know, going back to Australian Survivor, the Australian Survivor reunion was really good cuz he got Cirie David on a on a motorcycle and everything. That's a real reunion. We need to, you know, in front of the Sydney Opera House. It was amazing. This is This is like change >> Until David Genat jumps out of a plane like Jeff did in Vanuatu, you know, paragliding into a desert to get on the >> to do it next season. I guarantee you. >> [laughter] >> Jeff used to be an adventure adventurous person at heart. He's just not like that anymore. He's slowed down. He's older now, you know, so >> his age, yeah. >> He's showing his age. But yeah, I think that the finale just felt really rushed. We didn't get to spend a lot of time with a lot of people. The pre-jury was there.

42:47 I don't think they had a single question for them. It felt a bit rushed. And what did you think of Cirie's trophy? Did you Did you like the trophy? >> That was so cheap as well. It's like what I thought I thought the trophy was going to be It's like the hardest survivor so I hardest survive 50. I'm like, surely you give her a trophy the best to never win, right? I thought that's what it was going to be. It's like, you know, Cirie, we admit you're the best player to never win. This is official. But now it's like the spirit of survivor. It's like, no. That's not the trophy she should be getting. This is not the flowers that she deserves. So And then like, well, at least it wasn't a t-shirt like they get to Ozzy. >> [laughter] >> The t-shirt was funny. yeah, it was an interesting It was an interesting finale. Like I do still want to see more live finales. Like I know I'll say it's probably not going to happen. Jeff believes that people are a lot more in the moment. He's got more time with people probably because it's a lot more controlled and he can choose what he wants to cut out and keep in the cutting board.

43:40 And there's no chances for errors. It's less cost. We know that Survivor is all about Yeah, reducing the cost of the show. >> It is a good point that they're in the moment. It's kind of cool to see them in the moment. And I would actually like devil's advocate, the fact that we got so much social media and sort of you know, interviews after the fact and all this stuff. we probably actually don't need as much of the live finale reunion as we once did. Like in 2003, yeah, show me the, you know, the Pearl Islands reunion, right? Cuz we didn't have Instagram. But I mean, if you want if you want to seek those things out, you can probably do that, but you can never really seek out because we don't have Ponderosa anymore. You can never really seek out what people are thinking like right after the game. So, if you're into that stuff, I'm sure that like that balance would actually be quite good to play devil's advocate. >> Yeah. I'm with Chris.

44:30 Like I don't like the vote happening straight after. I like for people to decompress. I like for them to take some time to come back and talk about it, but I will say If I if I had to choose and it pains me to say this, but if I had to choose between the finale that we saw this season and then and just after season vote reveal and then a chat, maybe the season's live finale wasn't that good. And it's just because of it felt it felt a bit rushed. Didn't feel like we got to spend a lot of time with people out there. And then we had like a car being given to Aubry who already won $2 million. Like what was that about, Andrea? Like it felt like they were given this extra prize that they didn't know what to do with and they're like, "Oh, how do we work with this prize? Do we just give it to the winner?" Like surely it would have been better to give it to the fan favorite or something. They only got $100,000. Like >> She didn't need to get a car like the Rick Devens of the season, right? It's like clearly not the three, but yeah, I just don't get that.

45:24 Like and also by the way, didn't Amber get given the car anyway in All-Stars? Like am I missing something? I know she didn't win it. I think she was given to her by Boston Rob, but they the car curse isn't really a thing anymore, right? Like >> Yeah. There's no there's no there's no difference between them gifting Aubry like the whole reason that the car curse was a thing is because someone won the car in the middle of the season and people got salty about it. And they're like, "Oh, well, that person already won something." Exactly. So you can't break the curse by giving it after the game. The game is not in effect anymore, you know? So like you're not breaking anything with this, Jeff, basically. >> They're probably like, "Damn, wait, why did we do this? This was such a waste of a car. >> Yeah. Did you want to talk a little bit about Cirie and Devon's like you didn't get an opportunity to talk about them last week on the show?

46:15 >> Yeah, that was that was pretty I mean actually last I liked last episode and I know that's a very unpopular opinion but I thought look this was just straight survivor it was pure maybe not enough time it was a little bit boring but honestly I would I mean every so often I don't want to say that I prefer boring survivor but I prefer vanilla survivor I just want to see people play cuz we actually did see Aubry outplay Cirie and you never see anybody outplay Cirie ever in the history of survivor. I think this is the first time that Cirie has ever been voted out by majority. And it's just like that's what you want to see and like it's a bit of a shame that we saw Rick Devens go out the way that he did but you know >> Did Aubry Did Aubry really outplay Cirie or was they just know that she Cirie was the obvious choice at this stage? Again legacy people knew she could have sit at the end.

47:06 Like did she really outplay her? Like she did get one over her she did defend Cirie's onslaught that Cirie had against Aubry saying that she's the one who leaked the information for instance and I thought it was interesting to see how they did. Okay. >> No, she outplayed Cirie because like yes everybody knows that Cirie's a threat and yes but at the end it's Cirie, right? It's like Cirie had ammunition. Cirie is the greatest of all time to never win but maybe one of the greatest of all time to ever play. >> Yeah. >> Just to just to be able to get the majority to vote out Cirie and like she even failed to get like Tiffany to vote out Cirie, right? So it's like it's not it wasn't set in stone. But I that was like pure gameplay which was actually really great to watch in my opinion. I know that's an unpopular opinion because of people like that's boring. >> Yeah. >> It was like you know Cirie get voted off and I you know I get that but it's like you know it's the love of the game it's not the love of the result, it's the love of the game.

47:59 And it's like pure survivor, you can't beat pure survivor in my opinion. So, that's my unpopular opinion. >> Yeah. Yeah, fair enough. it was it was interesting to see I was you know, I was amazed by how Cirie was still throwing haymakers on the way out and how it nearly stuck with Jonathan, you know, about Aubry not being able to be trusted and things like that. I do think Rizo had a really big role to play in Cirie's blindside as well. Like I don't know if it was purely Aubry. That's why I just don't know if I can give credit to Aubry for being the one who outplayed her cuz I think Rizo ultimately also backstabbed her in the moment cuz if Rizo had any time >> [snorts] >> had Cirie's back in that moment, it could have been a little bit different, right? Like if he was to talk to Jonathan because it sounded like this is the other relationship we didn't really see much between Rizo, Jonathan, and Joe, but apparently they were very close throughout the season as well. which is kind of weird in a >> with the Riz Rizo and Cirie of the thing of it all, did Cirie make a mistake like bringing Rizo as her third?

48:56 Would it Would she have been better if she had sort of like had either a Christian or a maybe Devens as her third? Cuz actually one of the interesting sort of underrated stories that we had was like Devens, for example, being the most loyal of all of the players on the it despite him having this very big reputation, he was the most loyal. He was 10 times more loyal than Joe ever was, right? >> Yes. >> If Cirie had Devens and by extension Emily and Christian in her alliance and had Devens, for example, as the third, would she have maybe even won rather than Rizo who clearly backstabbed her like twice, but once with Ozzy and then once with her. Like I don't think she made a mistake. >> I don't think Devens or like Cirie came in with a handicap playing this season. I don't think like Devens or Christian would have wanted to sit next to Cirie at the end just like Rizo didn't want to, but I think >> Yeah. Yeah.

49:49 >> Cirie was in a bad spot where she had to choose someone and this kid who said that he's a fan that show saw her once before even played the game and a photo taken. She probably just thought the fan boy in him would play with her type of thing. So, she was really like outside of Ozzy, I don't think there was anybody else who was willing to take her to the end this season. The fact that she got as deep as she did this season to me is amazing. Like I think legendary status solidified herself. She was already the best in ever win before she came into the season. She just put a rubber stamp on it as well. Dreadful Ruby, it's so good to see you back. it's been a while. we have been covering the season the whole season here but glad you found us again, you know. So, keep an eye on the channel. We are back after a bit of a hiatus. We're back and we're doing more content here on the channel. So, the other person that we wanted to talk about a little bit was Devens because you didn't get an opportunity to talk about Devens last week either.

50:44 Devens as well didn't do himself any he didn't do any injustice to his to his potential opportunity to come back and play this game again in the future. I think that as many times as Devens says yes, Survivor would have him back, right? And it's crazy to me to think that Devens was an alternative coming into the season. >> Yeah. Well, is Devens being teed up to be Jeff's replacement is my question. Cuz like how many how many years does Jeff have left? I think we spoke about this. Jeff's like what is he? 60 or 65? >> Yeah, he's 60 I think he's 66 actually for some other reason. I can have a quick look. >> Yeah, so I mean what? Jeff Probst only has like 5 to 10 years left. Jeff Probst's age, let's see. Yeah, so he's 64. So, 60 years. >> Yeah. >> We spoke about this earlier in the season but I that was I think that's probably why he was the alternate. I think it's cuz like no, we want to kind of keep Devens. He might be the sort of the >> But you need to keep him but you need but you need to keep Devens I feel like fresh in people's minds.

51:38 If you do want to bring a player in to be a host in the future. I actually nobody's ever spoken that much about Rick Devens as a potential host. I do think that he could pull it off. Like he's got the TV experience to be able to do that. And I thought he was it was kind of funny seeing him on the finale where Jeff was talking to him. Obviously spoke to Cirie and that, like he spoke to the Christian and him at the same time. Devens has got that news anchor personality kind of thing when he's there. So, not impossible. Like because we want Survivor too. I like I feel like Jeff's biggest legacy and what people are going to remember Jeff for at the end is he going to take Survivor down with him or is he going to mentor and get somebody ready to take over from him? Like when he leaves this thing so that it outlives him, you know? Because I think that I think it might be one of the failures. I think it would be failure if the show doesn't go on without him. >> Yeah, 100%. I think it's one of those things where and I was thinking about this a lot actually when David took over Australian Survivor and it brings me back to the to deal on the deal island when he was talking to Dr.

52:38 Will and he was talking Dr. Will saying, "Hey David, you have you haven't got a lot of media training. I can tell." And then I something about that media training that seems like David had in spades. Seems like Rick Devens has it in spades cuz he's worked in TV as well. Savannah probably has that as well. There's like there's a certain it's a certain skill that you can be trained at. It's not necessarily like how big your personality or what do you It proves that like David is not the golden god when he is when he's hosting. He's David, right? >> Yeah. And he's very well media trained. I think you kind of need somebody that is media trained. It can't just be like, "Oh, I liked him as a winner." Like Boston Rob was a great winner. >> But was is Boston Rob really media trained? Maybe not. But it's like you need somebody who's worked in TV before in the past I feel or has that experience. I think that Devens probably has that. Whether or not you like him as a character or as a if you like his voice or the way that he like that's a different question.

53:32 But does he have like the It's kind of like going to work. It's it is a it's a job, right? It's like if you going to hire somebody for a job, you look at their experience. You see what is their capability and then you can mold them into who you want them to be, I feel. And I think that's sort of like the path. >> we've got I totally agree with you. We've got after here jumping in and saying "JLP is a picnic." Oh, he's not. He's for the big boys like Crocodile Dundee. JLP would be perfect. JLP was at the finale. I don't know if you saw the photos for that. He >> them. >> He was there with his >> Whenever you hear JLP in an interview, he always speaks with an American accent, which is really jarring. But I'm thinking that's actually quite perfect. He would If he would run like American Survivor, his natural accent's American. Like it would totally play. >> Yeah, but I think like JLP is not that much younger than Jeff, and that's probably why. >> 55. Yeah. >> Yeah.

54:22 That's still a few years. I mean, you with the way that they shoot Survivor over in America, you could get like a good 10 seasons out of him. You know, so it's not bad. He could be like an intermediate host or something. whoever's going to take over from Jeff is going to have a massive job. Like we all know that. It's not going to be an easy task. >> JLP is 56, so he's 10 years younger. So he's got an extra 10 years if he wants to take over. Which is I mean, that's decent. That's like He could do like 30 seasons. 30 seasons if he wanted to. >> He could slot in. He already has the experience, and it would be seamless while they actually look for the long-term replacement. That Like if they if they actually do want to take this thing far, you know, in the future. But what else was there that I wanted to talk about? we obviously still have the points that we need to go into. Is there anything from the finale that you feel like we didn't touch on? Anything that sort of stood out for you? >> No, I mean, not really. It was kind of like a boring finale if I'm being 100% honest.

55:13 >> Ah, well, we did well to do 55 minutes of to [laughter] talking about the to talking about it. >> It's a 2-hour long finale, isn't it? >> Yeah, we do need to go into the points, and obviously going into this, you were already out by the time that this came around, so not much in it for you, but myself and the I guess the Nullified Take community, we had players left on the board. So, we had Tiff, Jonathan, and Rizo for TNT community. Joe and Aubry were still in the game for me. ultimately, we see here in this episode Tiffany going out and we see Rizo going out. So, in the finale, we have three players left. Leading into the fantasy rankings this week, we actually had Get this over here. We actually had I think it was like a two-point difference between the likes of myself and the nullify take community.

56:10 So, there wasn't that much points between us. Not used to having a mic in my hand and doing this with the little mouse laptop thingy. Okay. So, total points leading into this, we were had two points between us. But, ultimately, two players this week being sort of taken out from the TNT community meant minus 10 points. Jonathan did survive, so he got a point. He overall got second place, which was 10 points. we also gave him a point for Oh, why did I give that? I don't know. It was a big move. Did he have a big move in this week? I don't think so. So, remove that. So, he got 10 points and 1.11 points and then minus five, so for two of the players. So, ultimately minus four points for TNT community this week, which put them at 108 points and runner-ups for this specific draft.

57:05 You had both Aubry and Joe survive this week. Both got a point. There Joe won an immunity. I gave the points to Joe for winning an immunity. I got I gave points as well for Aubry winning the last immunity. And all up, that gave me 20 points for her win, five points for Joe coming in at third place with 30 points this week, 146 points in total for me. So, I do take it out and it is pretty crazy to think that this is only I've done this for a long time, Andre. I've done the draft for a very long time. We've had hundreds of videos or lives here on the Nullified Take channel. And this is only the second time ever that a last pick draft person won the season. The only other time this has ever happened was on The Challenge All-Stars season 1, where Yes was the last pick player of that draft by Shantel, I believe it was, who did it from Reality Realness, and she won that draft.

58:02 So, only the second time in many drafts that we've done have we done this. And I think it's great evidence that we were unspoiled on the season. We had absolutely no clue what was going to happen. >> me in particular. >> [laughter] >> Yeah, you I didn't even mention your points in the end. But, this was your first This was your first This was your first draft, Andre. I feel like you're going to come in much better prepared for the second one that we do. >> I don't want to be prepared. I think it's more fun to just tell what your honest opinion is without being completely spoiled or anything. >> Yeah. no, well, you guys got second. I had a total of 146 and then the Nullified Take team had a total of 108 in the end. So, the win actually did make a really big difference in the end. Sorry if it was a bit confusing. the minus 10 for being voted out is too high for future drafts.

58:55 Yeah, fair enough. The minus fives cuz at the at the end of the day it kind of catches up to you. and we'll rethink the points, but you had a lot of players still left to lose towards the end, which was kind of an Achilles' heel going into the finale. We might make the win a little bit more give it a bit more points. I don't know. I feel like the win actually did end up giving me that boost and having two players in the finale. And then I've got to say Joe all season long has been He wasn't good TV, but he was good for my draft because he kept winning these individual immunities and he was getting me a lot of points on that. So, and then the other big player for you that kept you Well, two players that kept you in the game under for a lot a large period of that was Rick Devens and Christian Uki obviously had a had a big season. >> Yeah, for sure. He got a lot of like for what for where Christian went out, he got the massive edit and he did a lot of things. So, yeah, hopefully we'll see him back actually. >> Yeah.

59:45 Yeah, I think we'll redo the draft in the future guys. We'll rethink the points, but I really liked having the TNT community be a part of the draft this season. It was the first time we've ever done it. I think we absolutely will do it in the next one again. We'll keep it between you, me, Andre if we do season 51, we'll have TNT community also draft. Are you excited for season 51? Did the did the promo kind of get you excited for it? >> Yeah, I mean let's talk about it. What was really interesting was Well, there's a few things. The first one is like Jeff was saying it's the open era. I don't even know what that means. Like what did that even mean? I think what they're implying is that they're implying that anything is on the table. Anything every twist is open and I think what it seemed like was it seemed like they're putting in every single twist that ever existed. >> Yeah, so we're going to see mutiny? We're going to see mutiny again? >> Probably a mutiny, probably a schoolyard pick. They're clearly doing the medallion of power.

1:00:37 The medallion of power is coming back this season. >> power was not a bad twist. [laughter] I mean people give it a bad rap, but it's like actually kind of makes sense because if you have a medallion of power and then you choose to give it away, it kind of rebalances it. It's much better than the new twist that they have. The new twist is they take away the they take away the strength. So, the medallion of power is like a self-correcting mechanism that allows there to be more balance in the in the tribe and it also seems like they're doing like two tribes of 10. I feel >> Yeah. Yeah, it feels like it. Hopefully they do the hourglass twist before the merge this time at least. Like if they could do it at least cuz since they're bringing every single twist back, like I'm just hoping that the bad ones are going to be early in the season. Yeah. What you know, I think Is it Is it marketing Andre? Do you feel like they'll actually bring every twist back, or is it a bit of marketing? >> There's no way they can possibly do every single twist. >> Yeah, what about the Age of Extinction?

1:01:28 Is the Age of Extinction back next season? >> Yeah, Age of Extinction and Redemption Island. And Redemption Island. Yeah. And Exile Island. They're all in just one other >> [laughter] >> I'm excited to see what they do for But it's like they've got to hype it up. It's it sounds interesting. The open era Let's see what it's about. Like I'm keen like I'm keen for the chaos in some ways, and then in other ways I'm a little bit afraid because it seems like they're thinking, "How can we one-up the 40s, and how can we go even more crazy?" And it's >> there is a there is a seed of a good idea. Well, the seed of an idea good idea is in the history of Survivor, we've had a lot of twists. We know which twists suck and which twists are good. Let's just do the good twists. But they're not going to do that, right? They're going to do the worst twists. And we know this about Jeff, so >> I'm ready I'm ready to see the nullifier back.

1:02:20 I mean, this channel was inspired by the nullifier. So, we need to see the nullifier come back. >> a really good moment, though. Like >> Yeah, can the nullifier can the nullifier like nullify knowledge's power? Like, if the nullifier can nullify knowledge's power, that would be interesting because then you might have someone that's an ally of yours with an advantage that you don't want them to lose. Someone says, "Hey, I've got the knowledge of power. I want to take this from you." You say, "I'm playing the reverse Uno card on you. Nope, it's not happening." >> I think it originally it was originally it was just for a immunity idol, but I they should be able to expand the rule because the nullifier happened before all these crazy twists happened. So, it's just like anything to nullify some of this stuff. And by the way, don't bring back the Billie Eilish idol. We don't need to see that again. Kind of put the wind out of the second half of the half the game there. >> Yeah. Okay, let's see what Zudoman says here. He'll bring us back to earth. He keeps us on track. He says, "I don't think it's very or every twist this season it's any twist from all the seasons that can happen basically going back to what Survivor used to be." so, yeah, so anything is open, anything can come back but not necessarily everything in the same season.

1:03:22 >> You know, it could be it could be like >> Isn't that just like any season? Isn't that just like any >> What I think it could be, I think it could be like the island of What was it? The island Ghost Island where it's like you can go to an island. >> Or like the Immunity Island in Survivor South Africa. >> Yeah, and it's like somebody goes there and they can choose which twist they want to run. It's like, "Okay, well >> that. >> I want I want a mutiny this episode cuz it's like, "All right, I'm going to mutiny." So I think that'll be pretty cool. It's like you've got like 20 twists and you're like, "Mutiny, let's do this." So that'll be cool. >> I love that. I absolutely love that. That would be cool. I think like Survivor South Africa Immunity Island had a very similar It was not just about immunity. It was you actually went to the island, you would compete and if you won the competition, you had immunity item of twists and things you could choose from. >> And they also did something similar in Island of Idols as well.

1:04:13 I know we shouldn't be talking about that season. They cut it to the same thing with what Dean DK Chillin. >> Yes, 100%. I just want to I want themes and two tribes back personally. It's way too hard to keep track and of the 40s. I want the two tribes as well basically because I think that it's much more interesting when votes play out in bigger tribes. I don't like six-person tribes where the votes are just you just get locked into a certain vote and you just have to stick with it. >> it's 10-10. I think I think they heard us. >> Yeah. The 40s were cookie-cutter. They should just do some of their better themes again like Brains versus Brawn, Beauty, Blood versus Water. Yeah, and Heroes versus Healers versus >> They should definitely borrow Redemption and I also think they should do >> Outcasts. Oh, what was it? What was Return of the Outcasts from Survivor South Africa where it's like pre-merge versus post-merge?

1:05:06 >> And Australia versus the America versus the world. They should do America versus of Like that was a good season. I feel like, okay, the American audience probably wouldn't understand who like George is. But I mean, pretty sure. Yeah, pretty sure. >> Yeah. >> Luke Toki, George, get David to come out and play one more time. >> George? Why not? >> Yeah. I think it'd be fun. Zuderman saying exactly, I don't know why he's marketing it as revolutionary concept when it's just what Survivor always was before the new era. Unless it is like we said that island where they go and they've got this menu. I think that's it here for this week and all the coverage and Andre, it's been a lot of fun and I've got to say once again, thank you so much for doing this with me this season. I know how much of a commitment it is. I know you've got a really busy life and you've got lots going on. I know Survivor is a passion of yours and you do watch it and hopefully you've had a lot of fun at being able to creatively have an outlet and share with the community.

1:05:58 I am biased but I think we've got a great community in the Nullified Take that every week comes here. They take part in the conversations. They make us think and ask questions and sort of always say that the third person in the podcast. So, also wanted to thank the community for sticking with us this season as we recapped. I know I've been away for over a year before I did this again and it was really good to see old faces, old names coming back and taking part in the conversation every week. we will be back. you know, hopefully Andre enjoyed it enough that we get him back for 51 as well but we definitely I'll be back. I'll talk about Survivor. I'll see about the challenge if I can do some short form content on the challenge and if it works with my schedule but Survivor's definitely locked in. I'll come back. I want to see what 51 is about. I want to see what the new era is going to look like moving forward and potentially Andre, you know, if you've got time in the next couple of weeks, maybe we'll take a couple of weeks off and then come back and do a little bit of off season content about twists that we'd like to see come back.

1:06:53 Just more fan content in general, talk about Survivor in total and what we'd like to see and sort of I don't I don't know, we continue to have this conversation about where we would like to see Survivor go in the future, you know, with the twists and the players we'd like to see return. Maybe rank the legacies of the players that played this season, where they were prior to the season, where they ended up. I feel like there's lots that we can still talk about, and I've had fun talking to you. I think this works really well. But thanks everyone, thanks team and the live. Thanks Andre for coming back and talking to us. >> You're very welcome. I'll be back. >> Amazing. Well, everyone grab your torches, head back to camp. Keep an eye on the channel in the coming weeks. We might have one or two off season lives coming up as well if our schedules can permit it. But it's been a lot of fun, a bit of a bit of a downer of a of a finale, but I think ultimately we can all agree that, you know, for Aubry we're very happy that her legacy turned out and she right the wrongs of the past, her wrongs of the past, and she did end up winning this season.

1:07:49 Thank you so much everybody. Have a great day, great weekend, and we'll talk soon. Bye. >> Bye.
