Podcast episode · 21 Feb 2026 · 2 hr 6 min

Episode summary

In their first Survivor 50 show, Chris and Andre explain how they met, talk about the new season and run a snake draft with the audience, which the community calls TNT community. They set simple points: one for surviving, three for immunity, three for an advantage, minus five for a vote out, ten for the final and thirty for the win, plus add-ons for iconic quotes, lies, big moves and meltdowns. Chris opens with Coach, Andre takes Christian, and the audience takes Cirie and Chrissy. The hosts then pick Q, Joe, Dee, Genevieve, Jonathan, Tiffany, Rick Devens, Colby, Stephenie and Jenna Lewis, and go through the rest of the 24. They talk about Rob C and Earl missing from the cast, Amanda missing out, Mike White taking Rob’s spot, and Aubry falling to the last pick.

Now we're [music] stepping inside. Time didn't break us. Sharpen the blade. History's calling. LEGENDS REMAIN. We're back from the void. Hear the battle cry. [music] Let the truth from the ashes [music] rise. Feel the light. Survival of 50. [music] We don't just watch, we thrive [music] back.

1:08 [music] 50 seasons deep. Every move under fire. [music] Idols and alliances. Ambition and wire. From first boot to the final breed. Every blind side it goes. Every legacy blades. We're back from the void. Hear the battle [music] cry. Not the fight. >> [music] >> Let the truth survive from the aes lie. Survival [music] of 50.

1:58 We don't just watch, we thrive. [music] Torch is lit. The games alive. Now [music] I take season 50. We arrive. >> [music] >> Welcome to the nullified tech channel on YouTube. I'm your host Chris back from the void and I've brought some manpower with me. My good friend Andre is with me on the podcast and we'll be co-hosting Survivor 50 coverage here on the channel.

2:48 Andre, how are you doing? >> Yeah, doing really well. super excited for this new season. nice to be on the show finally. I've been a long time listener, first- time caller, I guess. >> Yeah, I guess. for those people who would have never met you before, obviously I've always done content with some of the other co-hosts here on the Nullify Tech channel. Andre and I became friends I feel like maybe three years ago now easily. Like the first time I was still in New Zealand, we started talking about Survivor. We met in person a couple of times and we just connected on some stuff outside of the game as well on a personal note. and then always kept talking about Survivor and I would say Andre, you're a big reason why I'm doing this podcast because a lot of people that I used to talk to about Survivor, you know, when I left the whole sort of content creation thing for the last year to focus on some personal things and what I wanted to do in my personal life.

3:39 I think you were the only person who kept like reaching out to me, you should do more content. What's are you watching Survivor Australia Versus the World? Are you what are your thoughts about the episode? So, you always ask me. So you every time I try to get myself out of the survival world to focus on work, you kind of drag me back in. And now you've dragged me back into podcasting. >> It does run deep. I think I've been a fan since Borneo. So dating myself maybe about 10 years old. what merge episode and Borneo I remember sort of. And I haven't missed a season since then. I guess I guess I did miss Marasis because it wasn't airing in Australia. yeah, watched every single season since then. and it's like the old adage that, you know, survivors like pizza. Even when it's bad, it's still pretty good. yeah, may maybe lately it's been pretty wet, soggy pizza, but it's still pretty good. I'll still eat it.

4:29 >> Yeah. Before I say hello to those who are already in the live, which I can see you there. I appreciate you, Willie. I appreciate you, Chris, jumping into the live. you know, I said to you, I got kind of got to the point on Survivor US towards the end where I felt like a lot of people I were talking to, especially on the podcast as well, they were quite negative about it. We constantly compared it to Australian Survivor, which it's two different shows, should be looked at as two different shows really in my mind. and it kind of got me in a negative space about The New Era, which The New Era is definitely not as good as Classic Survivor. We all can agree to that, but I've had to like speed watch season 49, watch the whole season in preparation for 50. I watched about half of 48 before I came into this. So, I'm a little bit unprepared, but I've got a pretty good feeling of what the players are going to be like that are coming back from that season. and I actually, you know, hot take, I kind of enjoyed it. And I think having had that break from Survivor, coming back with a different lens on it, kind of reignited a little bit of that passion for the show.

5:24 Is there still things that I hope that Survivor is going to do different in its 50s? 100%. But we'll probably get into that as we cover the show in its entirety. I'm just excited to be back. I'm excited to see some old school legends coming back playing the game as well. So, let's say hello to a few people here on the live. We've got Willoolly in the live. Welcome to the live. Chris, so good to see you in the live as well. Chris says, "Likewise, I've been watching since Borneo." Same. Yeah. and we've also got Gabe. Gabe is a big supporter also of the channel, especially for Australian survivor content. I feel like Gabe, you're always on as well. so Andre, the season is called in the hands of the fans and you know, there's a lot of controversy. I've seen it online. People were kind of like, we didn't get to vote on enough things, enough aspects of the game. I don't actually even know what they got to vote on.

6:15 >> What did they get to vote on, Andre? You're kind of like my I'm hearing it from you. I don't know if you're even up to up to date with what I think it was. >> Not really. Yeah, it was like tribe colors and like a couple of like I don't even know if they we were able to vote on the amount of days or anything like that. I think maybe the comments were able to sort of I remember that they weren't like useful things are like I think the only useful thing was if firemaking was going to come back or not. I think I think I'm most interested to know that and I want to know if the players are going to know exactly what is what the rules of the game are before they actually start playing because I think that's the most important thing that I don't care about tribe colors or anything like that. I checked out of tribe colors. It's maybe like took jeans. >> Yes. Hey Sandy, welcome back to the live as well. Good to see you here. so because this you know I guess we're doing a bit of and it's and it's going to be fun today.

7:06 We just got to have fun. Both myself and Andre said we're going to do a draft. Let's talk about these players. We didn't overly prepare for it. So, it's all off the dome. Whatever we can remember about these players and where we think they will stack up. I didn't do much preseason prep in regards to who's going to get targeted early or anything like that, but you know, I'm sure our audience did do that prep and you know, and we definitely need to get the audience involved. This is in the hands of the fans. So, we're going to have our audience be a part of the draft today. I think that's something that I really wanted to make sure we captured. So, let's see how it's going to We've got a wheel that I'm sharing right now. It's got all of our names on it. It's got the audience name on it as well there. So, depending on who it drops on, that will be the team that will select first. and we're just going to go into the chat. Whoever spams once, please, everybody. I just want people to spam once per person.

7:58 A specific person will put them into the audience's team for the draft. So, here we go. We'll roll the wheel. Let's see what the order will look like. So, oh, I was going to say it almost was appropriate with us starting with the audience, but it does look like I will be the first person to select. And now it's between Andre and the audience for the next spot here. Let's see where we land. Andre, you're beating out our audience as well. >> We've already got it pretty much prepared. >> One thing I did want to ask while you're doing this, is it going to be a snake draft? >> Yeah, it'll just be a snake draft. So, we'll go all the way down and then the TNT community will get the third and fourth vote. You'll get the fifth one, I'll get the sixth and seventh, and so forth, and we'll go through it.

8:52 So, it might and in a season where there's so many players coming back and there's so many possible outcomes for where the season's going to go, I don't know how much really value there is in picking first. our audience may just have the best picks because they get third and fourth, which I think is a pretty strong spot to be in. >> Yeah, absolutely. >> Yeah, we've already got Willie here saying we've got to beat Chris and Andre. okay, audience, we need to have a good draft. Oh, yeah. >> >> let's just see here. Some people talking about Mr. Beast being on the island. Yeah. Like what the hell? [laughter] I saw that as well. Are you a Mr. Beast fan, Andre? >> I haven't watched a one video of Mr. Beast. I couldn't care less about Mr. Beast. [laughter] >> And we've got what a Billy Eyish boomerang idol or something like that in it as well. >> Jimmy or something like that.

9:45 >> Craziness. Okay. So, I'm going to do my best here to I guess maximize slightly so we can have a bit of a better view of who is up for grabs. and I think we're just going to get into it. We're just because there's a lot of people to get through here that we need to select for the draft. I did not prepare for being the first person. But you know what? This is a season that I want to love seeing the people like in my draft that I'm going to. And in fact, I've got to backtrack. You can tell I'm rusty. I got to backtrack one step. I got to talk about how the points are going to work. >> Points. Yes. >> And the points is going to be super simple for this draft team. >> I don't want to spend countless and countless of times checking how many confessionals there were and things like that. But we're going to have five rules only as the main points. So the first one's going to be survive the episode. You get one point if your character survives the episode. The second one is going to be if that person wins immunity, be it individual or team immunity, they will get three points.

10:40 So if they're in a winning tribe and they win immunity and this will be to outright win immunity. So we won't go for the second place immunity team. They have to be the winning immunity tribe. So number one >> recently I've been doing like a one male and one female win. So that count as an outright a right outright win even if they come second and >> Yes. >> Yeah. Okay. >> Yes. Yeah. Yeah. I think we do it that way. if they find and play an advant find or play an advantage, they get three points. So, we won't go and penalize them if they play it incorrectly in this draft. It is just a fun draft. But if they find it and play it, we'll give them three points. If they get voted out, it's minus five points. So, those that get voted out early, it will hurt in this draft. If they win the game, 10 bonus points and then some fun and chaos add-ons that we will add to this one just to make it interesting. We want to be able to laugh at this season. If you want it to be a bit more entertaining, we'll add this here.

11:33 Two points if they say something iconic, right? and we'll have to agree between Yumi, Andre, and the audience that it was an iconic moment in the show, but I think we can be we can play fair and have some fun. We've got some iconic characters coming back. So, I'm sure there will be some iconic confessionals. If they get caught lying, it'll be two points, right? So, for Messi players, they might get some points here. This is not >> That's a lot of points. That's a lot of points. [laughter] two points if they make a big move and agree the group agrees life that it was their move. They made this big move in the episode and then minus two points if they have a bar moment out there and have a meltdown. [laughter] So, lots and lots of fun to be had on this one for the season. We're going to keep it fun.

12:24 And >> I do have a proposal. I do have a proposal. I think that winning an having 10 points for winning seems a little bit low. I feel like we might need to add a few more points for winning because I feel like that is like that's the aim of the game, right? So, I propose something like 20 bonus points. >> So, let's go final tribal council if they make the final three >> or final trial because I don't know if it's a final three and then we'll go let's go plus 30 points if they win. Okay, that make that makes things a lot better because it I think this is a good now this is a good sort of balance between entertainment but also there's a decent amount of points for actually winning or making it far. no nothing for confessionals this time. So it's a bit it takes a bit of time to do all the confessional points throughout the season.

13:18 I'm not going to stay on top of it, but we're going to keep it a little bit more just fun for this one. Jeff keeps talking about, you know, the new era of Survivor is about fun. He brought fun characters and in the essence of having fun on Survivor. [laughter] we're gonna we're going to switch wigs up a little bit here on the draft. Okay, so I don't want to waste more time on this. Let's go into my first pick. And was there ever going to be any doubt that I'm going to take the Dragon Slayer? I mean, you got to take the Dragon Slayer off the rip. I never thought, Andre, that we would see Coach Wade come back to play Survivor. >> He is an iconic legendary player of this game. He's going to have plenty of iconic moments on the show, I'm sure. And for some other reason, I just feel like people are going to want to play with coach. The legend of coach has aged extremely well. If this was South Pacific, coach coming into this after Heroes versus in fact, he did really well that season.

14:12 He did extremely well that season, but after South Pacific, I feel like people would have been very wary of him. But I just I don't know why between you and me, Andre, I'm high on coach coming back. I'm excited to see him. Already in the in the previews and the intros, we already see him being the main narrator of the intro as they walk on the air strip there and things like that. So >> the first iconic quote >> exactly. So I get my first two points there for the first episode. but I just wanted to say I want a team of people I want to shout for this season and I want to like I want coach to win. So, I'm going to throw all my money behind coach, >> and I think coach has a good chance of winning. I will go out on a limb and say that coach's game in South Pacific is actually one of the better or probably one of the best runner-up games. It's definitely obviously it's not a winning game, but I feel like all he needed to do was admit his faults. And I think he's learned that lesson at the very end of the season, and he probably would have won.

15:08 And I think that the fact that Sophie beat him in the context of winner winners at War makes him actually seem like a lot better player than he probably actually is. so I'm high on coach. he's one of the he is the goat character of Survivor. If there's any character in the history of Survivor that it's coach like he's number one with a with a bullet. I can't think of anyone better. So yeah he was he was high on my list. I wouldn't say he was number one. Thank god. But I see that Willie is pretty upset [laughter] that the audience didn't get coached. >> I did see it. It made me feel better when Willie was like, "Damn it." Yeah, [laughter] I got one over the audience at least. Okay, Andre, over to you. Who do you have as your number one? >> Oh, this one this one was my number one pick. it's an easy one. It's Christian. >> Christian. All right, talk to us about Christian and why you're putting him as your numero uno.

16:00 >> So, Christian is a really good character. He is very quoteworthy, but I think he has a really good chance of winning. with the amount of I guess threats in this game, I think his threat level will be decreased a little bit. he's very social. He's very good at the game as we saw in his first season. And his threat level compared to others is actually quite low because he's only played once. He didn't really make it to the end, but I think he had the potential of doing that. plus you want to root for him. So there's three components here. Rootability, chance to win, and also character. And I think that in terms of balance and in terms of being like highly balanced in all three, I think that Christian has the best frankly. And I think that he's probably going to be one of the major characters. I am factoring a little bit the preview. You know, he was pretty he was pretty active in the preview as well.

16:51 And I'm sure that he's going to have a lot of quote worthy moments too. >> Geette, welcome to the live saying March. Just got home. Welcome back Chris and hello Andre. yes, so Andre is a longtime listener of the channel. We became friends about 3 years ago, Geette, and kept talking about Survivor over the last year and then when I had to come back and talk about Survivor 50. Andre is just such a you're really positive about Surv like you acknowledge the flaws of New Era, but you're I feel like you're one of the more positive people when it comes to talking about Survivor US. So I just wanted someone that I can come in here and have fun with for this season and I reached out. Andre is a busy person, so I'm feeling very fortunate to have him do this with me and to have him on the channel and I'm you know, I'm sure everybody's going to like his insights. He's a true fan of the show. So, Christian, very solid pick. can't fault you on that one. Played a really good game in David Biz Goliath.

17:41 It's a shame that it's taken this long for David Biz Goliath to have more returnee players. In fact, there's probably people who didn't make it that could have made it because it was such a strong cast. But, yeah, I'm excited to see how he goes. And he's got two other players from his season on the show as well. if they make it deep into the game, who knows? Maybe some friends there that he can work with >> on that. It's been long enough for people to kind of have forgotten his game as well. And I think that's just been just bad timing, you know, with Jeff being Jeff and you know, not really allowing that many sort of returnees over the last like 10 seasons. I think that yeah, Christian has a massive chance. And we see that time and time again that when somebody has taken like five I don't know how many years he's been off six years he's probably he's been thinking about the game quite a bit and I think he's a very cerebral type of person. If we if we had him on the podcast I'm sure he'd be able to go deep into the numbers. Yeah. And the strategy.

18:31 So I'm very high on him. >> Speaking about busy people, we've got Angel Cake Vers in the channel. Drew Angelman here in the channel. Drew, thank you for dropping in and saying hello. I know you've got a busy schedule covering all of the challenge on your channel, but we're very happy to have you here. and you're just in time to be a part of the audience vote. So, I'm very interested to know who's the audience going to go for. Please guys, put one only one comment in for who you want and I'll try and be both myself and Andre will try and be as good as we can to make sure you get your pick as the next one. It's now in the hands of the fans of Survivor to choose this next one. so >> D. >> Yeah, C1 D potentially. I'd pick D, but she wasn't that big of a deal on challenge to pass over her for this round. Okay, so not D. so who do we have? Audience, we're going to give you a little bit of time here to >> If no one says anything, we might have to just pick D.

19:23 [laughter] >> We might have to. Yeah, Chris, get your actual vote in there because if no one actually puts anybody in there, we might have to pick D because that's the only name we've seen. >> Okay, so Si's coming in with an actual vote. We've got a Si in there. Chris is coming in with a Si as well. So that's two for her so far. I feel like Si's going to be a she is a fan favorite. you know, so I wouldn't be surprised if she's the first pick here. >> Angel Cake V going in for Si. So, it's a landslide. I feel like we are going down that direction and Si is the first pick here. I like this pick for the fans of Survivor, you know, the listeners of the nullified take channel. Andre and probably I think both of us would have picked Cirie kind of high coming into this season. She literally just played Australian Survivor. made it extremely big deep into that game. Like I mean >> when you talk about Mount Rushmore, she is in the Mount Rushmore of players who have not won this game.

20:17 And in some ways it would just feel right if Cirie came back and won Survivor 50. Would you agree? >> I would definitely agree. I think she's not on the round Mount Matt Rushmore of players that haven't won. She is the number one player that hasn't won in my opinion. Yeah. >> she's socially I mean I saw her Big Brother season. I saw the last season she was on. she's barely made a mistake in any of these games. I think spoilers alert for four years ago she won the traders as well. so she yeah so she's very talented. my only concern with Ser is she's very unlucky as we have sort of seen. Maybe that luck will sort of blow out. but unfortunately I think that her threat level is too high to win. and I don't want to say that because I'm such a Cirie fan. I think that she's such a talented player, but there I just don't see how anybody would let Cirie win.

21:12 Then again, she almost won last season as well. So, you know, your bios may vary there, >> but I think that with Si coming into Survivor US, she did well in Australian Survivor versus World because a lot of people who played from the Australian tribe and some of these I think maybe some of the world players were bigger fans of Survivor, but the Australian players weren't the biggest actual fans of Survivor. A lot of them didn't really know the game of Cirie. Didn't really fully know the game of poverty. Like the fact that they like, and I'm not I'm not taking away from them. They're both phenomenal players and S's a phenomenal player because she also played big brother and went deep in Big Brother. So, you know, she's played enough of these games to know how to maneuver in them. But I think that with the US cast and with US players, she's got a way bigger threat level coming into this season than what she had playing and in fact, if some of them actually even know that she made it very close to the final in Australian Survivor recently, that's just going to add to her threat level.

22:04 So, I'm a little bit worried for Si coming into this season. she did, you know, really stand out in the Australian Survivor seen as like the more tough physical sort of competition between the two shows and she was not lacking. So for people who are like worried that she's going to come into the season potentially in the early stages and be a liability for her tribe, she did extremely well in the world versus Australia survivor. Yeah, she is fitter, but I just don't like I know a lot of points are actually given to immunity challenges as well. I just don't see her like beating Joe for example, right? so that might be a liability for her as well. but in terms of the pick, the audience picking Ser's number one, I think that's the correct choice because she is the quintessential audience sort of fan favorite. Like everybody wants to root for her.

22:56 Like there's no one probably in the cast that wants her out early on, I would say. >> Yeah. quick few comments here. Chris A1 is my auntie vote for decounting. because we're evil. Okay, Chris, we're evil. [laughter] There's no villains in Survivor, but there's villains in podcasting. That's all I'm saying, you know. Gabe says, "I do think I'm getting Cirie fatigue, though. Can't handle another one after 50." I feel like I don't blame Cirie, you know. She's probably getting close to retirement. She's like, "Get that bag. Get the money." if people are calling you. >> But I want to see something new from her. >> For sure. For sure. Chris is saying Cirie has that social game unlock. If you are awarding points for every episode, survive. She will rack up a good number for team audience. H. Yeah. As much as I love Cirie, there is no way Cirie going to reach endgame or final tribal. Okay. So, audience, it's your cho again. You also have the next pick. Let us know who is going to be the overall number four pick for this draft.

23:51 I think we're off to a start here where we've got some real iconic characters. We've got two old school players, one midschool player so far. Which way is the audience gonna go, Andre? If you had to put some money on it, do you think they're going new school, old school, or middle school on this next one? >> Oh, it's the audience. It's going to be old school for sure. [laughter] >> Okay. Well, the first one is new school. We've got a one D vote coming in here. So, let's see what happens. Willies put it another new school, Tiffany. So, we've got a tie so far. >> Interesting. >> Let's see where we're going. Let's see where we're going. I'm really interested in this one. Okay, D and Tiff, we need a tiebreaker, guys. Somebody's got to somebody's got to give us here. Okay, Chrissy. So, [laughter] it's that's it's female power at the moment. >> I love it. Can you imagine a DTI and Chrissy final tribal council, Andre? That would be pretty iconic. >> I'll be Yeah, I'll be all for that.

24:42 That would be pretty That'll be a legendary season, actually. >> Okay, we've got We've got Drew coming in with a Tiffany. So, we've got two Tiffanies so far. and then another Chrissy just to >> There we are. >> Okay. >> I think Will might have to break the tie here. Will like we've got a tie. So, if we don't get anybody else, we might give you Will the tiebreaker between a Chrissy and a Tiffany for this one. he's coming back doubling down [laughter] on the D. >> I'm loving this. I'm loving this. This is like a little bit of she will make it far trying to change people's votes here. I think it's a tie at this stage. Willie, you're going to have to go for either Tiffany or Chrissy. You're going to have to choose. You're going to have to break that tie. It's like a survivor third place. >> Okay, Willie, this is your This is yours. [laughter] >> This is your moment, Willie. This is your moment. You're getting your opportunity to break the tie here. Who was the player who broke the tie in Ghost Island?

25:34 Do you remember her name? >> Oh, Laurel, was it >> Laurel? Yeah, I'm testing your knowledge cuz I couldn't read. Okay, Willy's going for Chrissy. We've locked it in. Chrissy, iconic female character of the show, played only once in Triple H, right? And in that season, had the tied the record for most immunity wins of all time. I don't know how you feel about Chrissy coming into this season. I loved Chrissy that season. I thought her social game wasn't as strong and that's why she lost. just the way she made people feel around her and you know and I think that there was a subtlety about her social game that didn't get her quite across the line but she played a really good strategic game. She was always in the numbers. She won a lot of immunities for instance well during that time. but I'm just wondering if it's just like we should have seen Chrissy come back I feel like almost 10 se like 10 seasons ago 41 42 like when we had another All-Star season.

26:29 Do you think she can still reach the heights that she reached when she played in Triple H? I think she can I think she does suffer from the Christian or I guess it's I would say it's an advantage that she hasn't played for quite some time. People don't remember her as a player or her threat level as much. you know very similar position as Christian. I think that both Christian Chrissy also a shout out to Dom. I don't know why Dom is not playing this season. I feel like he's sort of another person in that mold. I do have a hot take. I don't think Chrissy could have won either way. and the reason that is I think that Devin was such a good player and I think he was the strongest player on that season. >> people will point to the whole Ben the Ben advantage thing being her downfall. I think it's her almost getting to the end with Deon was and Ryan didn't do too badly as well.

27:20 So this could be a thing that she was playing with some fairly strong players or fairly got strong allies that she might bring that into the new season. but as a character, I love her. she was high on my list as well. I think she was maybe in the top five of my list. just because of like she has very good gamesmanship. she made it very far. People don't remember her and I don't think that she'll have as much problems with this cast as she did with the with her cast. I remember there were a lot of negative interviews about her or about the way that she played the game. I don't think she'll face this issue this time. but that is a little bit concerning that maybe she rubbed people the wrong way. U going back to your point on sort of her social game and that's probably her weakest area. >> Yeah. Well, you've got the mic and also the next choice here in the draft.

28:10 So where you going to go for pick number five overall of this draft? >> I'm going to do a do a crystal pick. and I'm going to go with somebody that I don't well I mean coach could win but somebody that I don't think will win but I really want to root for and I think is probably rivals coach as the biggest character here and that is Q >> Q. >> He's not going to win but I want to root for him. >> Yes. Yes. And I you know what I am a little bit like I probably couldn't have coach and Q both in my draft this early on but if you if you allowed him to slide to like maybe my third pick or something I absolutely would have like been tempted to go for a Q because I reckon Q is like the only thing I did not like about Q I will mention that was him trying to quit the game right and I know he said it was a part of the strategy of what he was trying to do but >> I read that as his strategy at the time but maybe he there was a part of him that want did want to quit.

29:07 >> I feel like there was a part of him and then when they, you know, when they called him out on it, he back flipped on it and it's probably the only reason why he's coming back is the fact that he didn't quit cuz if he quit it that show, I don't think Jeff would have called him. >> But by far, I remember watching the season being high in Q. Loved his character. He's just an agent of chaos. And let's be honest, this is what we miss in Survivor. We miss these players that sometimes come in that are like casual fans of the show or has these big because if you think about the early stage characters like your coach and you know your Tyson's and all these people who played like very early on in the show the biggest characters were the people who weren't necessarily the super fans. It were the ones who played loose. It was the ones who did you know they took chances. They were innovators of the game. And Q in a lot of ways with his Q bag if it does make an appearance this season is such a big character.

29:57 >> The Q skirt or something. Yeah, it's he's such a big character. I mean, in the new era, there's not that many players that I think 10 years from now, you'll remember, but Q is one of those memorable characters. So, I don't I don't flaw you. I don't think he's going to win, but I think he's going to be a hell of a lot of fun to watch this season. Let's see what people are saying. she wasn't too happy with the Chrissy pick for round two. And says, "Quan, coach on one team would be too much." Chris, you know me. You know that's how I like to do drafts. I like to go all chaos on some of these drafts. And I've broken many of drafts by doing that [laughter] over the years and this is going to be no different. But now I've got to choose like and maybe there's a part of me that's wondering if I should go the opposite direction here >> and make a sensible pick because I went for one that you know and I don't know like I'm a little bit nervous about it.

30:50 You know what I am? This person I don't think this person's going to come back to me. And I've got to think about who potentially wouldn't come back to me at this stage. No. In fact, you know what I'm going to do? I'm actually going to go for Joe. I'm going to go for Joe. And I just recently watched the season. >> I've just recently watched the season. So maybe it's because of recency bias that I'm choosing him. I don't know what his endgame's like and that's the problem for me. But coming into the season, I've got a feeling he's going to make it very deep. And the reason that I think he's going to make it very deep is because of the way I've watched it up until about the merge, just prior to the merge in 48. He's such a loyal guy and he preaches loyalty that I think a lot of these players who are coming into this season is going to want to snatch up Joe and want to play the game with him. I don't know if he can win the show, but I think he's going to go deep and I think he's decent at challenges. So, feels like a sensible pick to counteract the chaos pick of coach at this stage.

31:45 >> Well, he is a loyal Both of them are very loyal players. I see a theme here. I think maybe you maybe jumped a gun of not seeing his end game because I think that his end game is one of the weakest part of his games. I think the early part of his game is pretty it's pretty strong. but there is and we have to look in the entire cast and consideration and what I have noticed is there are a lot of sort of big strong guys that preach loyalty in this cast. You've got coaches, you probably got Jonathan, you got Ozzy, >> you've got some pretty strong guys, you know. Yeah, exactly. Ki he played with Kyle, he played with Camila. So, he's I think his placement is probably one of the stronger placements in the entire cast and I actually don't think that he's going to be coming up as a strategic threat as much either. So, I think placement wise he's very strong, but he's Joe. and again, you haven't seen >> Do you think he can kind of do you think he can and with this is my blind spot and I do things like this on the fly.

32:41 This is the problem when you don't prepare [laughter] in advance of your with your ranking order because I was between three players. I'm not going to tell you who the other two players are because I don't just in case they come back to me. He was probably the lowest one, but then I but then I changed I changed it up a little bit. and I think with Joe, like from what I've seen so far, I feel like he would have been well loved by the public outside of the game, and I feel like he's probably somebody that is well respected, but would do you think if he played a good game this season, does he have the reputation and the respect to get to a final and win this game? Is there a way for Joe to get to the end and win this game? That's what I'm sort of after. Do you think the Survivor community respects him? >> the Survivor community is a different story. if he does play a good game and he has a good tri final tribal council, he could win. and he does have the capacity to play a good game, he does have the capacity to sort of be self-reflective, I think.

33:36 Because it's kind of like one of those things where we do find that returning players tend to overcompensate for their past failures. So I think that Joe might go the other way. He is he is quite self-reflective, I feel. he is a good player. It's just that I don't know. I feel like there might be a little bit too much noise in his game to be able to get to the end or get to that final getting from maybe final eight to final three. That's going to be his biggest challenge, you know, because he's going to be preaching loyalty. Then he's going to have to backstab and then he either backstabs people and people won't respect him or he'll backstab and get caught out. And that's my major concern, Joe. >> Yeah. Okay. Well, I do have the next pick. So obviously I knew that I'm going to be able to pick one of those two players that I was sort of eming and about. And I don't know if this person can win the game again, but I just want to root for them.

34:30 I like D. I really like D. Did you Was that the other person you thought I was going to go for? >> Yeah, that was 100%. I know that everybody wanted D for sure, including the audience. I think it's hard to I'll let you talk about it because you picked D first. Yeah, like I think it's a tough game for D to come back into having won so recently. What was the season? 45 or 46? >> I think it's 45. >> 45. >> 46. [clears throat] >> Okay. Yeah. Such a recent season. She's still in a lot of people's minds and in my mind the strongest winner of the new era. Like I thought she had control of the game from early on with her alliance. She played with her head, not her heart. that connection with was it what was the name of the guy who was playing with Austin was it or >> Austin? Yeah, that's >> Austin. So that connection and then sort of taking him to the end sort of you know really outplaying him and then >> stab him in the heart.

35:24 >> Stabbing him in the back so many times and in the heart like I know it's so brutal. She's kind of a villainous and she makes the cast which is exciting to see a player that's played such an aggressive villainous game as a female player because a lot of the times female players get judged differently in the game to men. I think that it's changed now over time. I think people are a lot more aware that, you know, that is something that can sometimes happen. But, if you're not going to have like a Jerry Manthy on the show, like she's like the new age era of that, but a Jerry Mthy that actually won the show, you know, and actually went all the way. and I just I'm excited to see D play again. She played recently in the challenge. I know some people said she didn't do too well in the challenge, but I also don't think that she did too bad either, like to be honest with you, in that season. I did watch that season. and I just didn't do any content on it. But she did get found out in the end and obviously it didn't work out her way, but I think she's got a good strategic head on her shoulders.

36:16 And I'm excited. Like I just want to see how she does coming back in a cast where the only winners and I want to talk about that a little bit. Andre, why do you think the only winners we've got this season are only from the new era? is it just because they shot their shot when it comes to season 40 winners at war? And if we took all of Winners at War out of the equation, like who's the most obvious winner who didn't make it? Like people who didn't come to Winners at War that potentially could have had a call back to come back for this season. >> I do know that Boston Rob was asked and he refused. but I don't know that put me on the spot on who a good winner from earlier would have been. >> >> Earl. Yeah, I think I think Ear What do we have to do to get Earl to come back and play the game, Andre? What do we have to do? Oh god, I have no clue. I mean, I know he's never going to be asked, but I feel like the only winner that sort of Well, the only other winner that I can think of is Richard Hatch, but he's obviously not going to come back.

37:14 I think like for a season like this, he would have been perfect. >> I would have liked to see Brian Haid. >> can I say something about just real quick? Can I say something about real quick? now that I don't really care that much if I ever was to play the game and I kind of kept a lot of things a lot more secret back in the day when I was talking on the podcast, but obviously have some connections with Survivors of Africa. Survivors of Africa might never come back and be a thing again, but Earl was at one point really keen on getting onto Survivor of Africa and was considered very heavily for some sort of an all-star season with some other US players. So, I know that Earl still wants to play the game. >> So, I feel like it's a Jeff thing, not an Earl thing about him not coming back. I feel like this cast is a reflection on Jeff, frankly. I know that Jeff loves the new the new era. but yeah, I mean I think Earl for sure, but going back to D.

38:05 >> >> yeah, sorry for sidetracking, but she deserves us to talk about hers. >> 100%. No, D, I did not see the challenge, so I don't have any sort of extra information there. I think D is definitely by far the most dominant winner of the new era. pro definitely since Tony's victory. I think that she probably can't win just because he she is a big threat and everybody knows her big threat. Everybody's seen her game. Nobody will want to take her to the end. that being said, we saw what happened on Australian last episode, last season of Australian last season of Australian Survivor. And I don't want to make a comparison because I feel like everybody makes a comparison. but she is sort of the most comparable winner to Harvey that we've had. probably and then probably Kim Sprdlin is the other the other person that I wanted to compare her to just in terms of dominant winner.

39:00 Yeah. >> So, I think that [clears throat] >> she will play a very good game, but I think she'll get found out very early on. I think she'll be targeted very early on just because of her reputation. >> that's fair. Yeah. >> So, yeah, but she might do well. She was a She is a challenge beast. She probably will win a lot of immunity challenges and she can somehow get her way to the end. I don't see how anybody can not respect the game that she plays even if she plays a massive cutthroat game because I think that this is the cast barring the Joe's and the Kobes of the world. I feel like people will respect her for sure. >> Okay. so it's your turn for this next pick. who do you want to go for? >> Yeah, sure. So I had two people for my next pick. both very similar players in my opinion. I was ping ponging between which one I should choose before you chose D and D was one of them.

39:54 The was the other one was Genevieve. I think the Genevieve is >> Is that your pick? >> Yes. >> Okay. >> She's ridiculously talented at the game. She's very good strategically. She might be a little bit weaker on the social side. but her game in I believe it was 47 was very strong. I feel like her not getting to the end and Rachel sort of pipping her at the post actually helps her because people won't look at her with as big a threat as I think she deserves. plus she's very rootable. I think she's a very rudable type of person. she's a very strong player. and I think was it the Italian? It wasn't it wasn't the Italian job. I think they ran some trademark issues there. but it was the whatever the Italian job was project Italy was one of the best new era moves.

40:49 >> pretty yeah number one. So yeah, those are the major reasons why I chose her. I like her. great game player. definitely lacked that social skills, but you know what's interesting? When I watched Savannah season and she got to the end and she won, I was just like, how? Like even I was watching it with Julie, my partner, and I was just like, how's she winning this? Like, how's she going to win it? Because she didn't even know people's name. She didn't care for the social game to that same extent. So, it just shows you it depends on the season. Like, some seasons people really value that. I could see a many seasons where Savannah loses that because of the final tribal performance to be honest and she won that specific season. So it might be a weakness that we perceive in Genevieve, but I think she's well respected as a new school player and definitely it would have been a big miss if they didn't ask her to come back.

41:39 She deserves that call back. So, I'm interested to see how she's going to go this season. Chris does ask you, Andre, though, do you think Genevieve, what do you think of Genevieve's bop? And will that give her more power or less in this game? >> I think probably more like she's sort of maybe going in disguise a little bit. It's like, no, I'm a different player now, you know? I' I've turned leaf. Yeah, exactly. It's like, who is this person? I don't recognize this Bob. Yeah. >> Yeah. Sandy says, "With Jenna Lewis in the cast, Kyle, Savannah, and D are in danger." Okay. So, I'm assuming Jenna Lewis is Yeah. Well, she targeted winners and I just don't think that game's going to work this season. It's a it's a very different era. It's a different game from when Jenna Lewis last played. I don't even know if she's got the social capital to pull it off to be honest. like these winners are coming in with some allies potentially into this game that I think will protect them to a certain extent, but would know that if a winner gets to the final, it always gives them a pretty compelling case to win again.

42:33 Because you should not let a winner get to the end with the threat level that they have coming into a season like this. Okay, so this is your moment, TNT community. I know you were sitting on the sidelines here patiently waiting for your next opportunity to choose someone. We've got the next two picks. So, spam us with some not spam, put one name each, please, in there to let us know who do you think, who do you want, to be the next person. >> Willie is Willie is throwing an Ozzy. >> Sandy is saying Jonathan. So, we've got two potentially up here. I don't know if those are official votes yet. but we'll let them collaborate a little bit. Chris is still on the Tiffany one. Really wants Tiffany in for this one. And I will say one thing about Chris, she I actually partnered with Chris once for the challenge. We did the Angel Cake draft together and she is got her finger on the pulse when it comes to these draft picks sometimes.

43:26 So, you know, just throwing an endorsement Chris's way. She's good at these drafts. Geetta saying Camila. So, Camila just recently played as well. Very interesting choice. I like Camila as well. won't talk too much about her until we actually have her coming up here in the draft picks. let's see. So, we've got a we've got like four different people. >> Always Chris got your back. Sandy is saying, "Okay, [clears throat] let's pick Tiffany." >> So, we've got two for Tiff at the moment. [snorts] >> we'll give it one more comment to see if that is where we're going to land. But at the moment, it's looking like a tiff to me. Are you in agreement with that? >> Yeah. >> Going gone. Okay. >> Okay. [laughter] And just as I do it, like Willie is like, "Okay, well, you guys can always pick a male in the next round, but for now it's Turf coming back here into this season." I really liked Turf in his season.

44:22 I thought she got screwed by Q [laughter] season time. He derailed he derailed her game in a in a big way, but she was definitely from memory had a lot of skill for this game. And I don't think she's going to come into the season as a big threat either, Andre, because she didn't ultimately win that season. She didn't ultimately control the strategic direction of the season after the merge. She had a big control in the beginning, but that was such a cluster of a tribe that she was in that she needed to survive to begin with that I think that she's got the skill to do really well this season and also not the threat level on her. But I just don't know who her connections are coming into the show. Like she's got Q, but who else? >> That's not really a connection really. That's that will hurt her rather than help her. Yeah, >> I think yeah, you're right. I think she has the lowest threat level of pretty much every anybody on the cast in my opinion. I think that she could be a strong player, but I haven't seen enough from her to be honest.

45:16 And the fact that the way she handled her tribe gives me a little bit of confidence, but I think she's the biggest wild card in the entire cast. And traditionally we of we often see wild cards and sort of low threat levels get very far and get very close to the end. My only question is if she does get close to the end, will people respect her and will people want to vote for her? That's a complete unknown. It really depends on the game she plays and I haven't seen any real evidence that she is on the caliber of some of the other people in this cast. >> Yeah. Yeah, I agree. And one of the other things is I'm thinking to myself, if I was one of these other Survivor players that are coming into this show wanting to play the game, like I want to see who are those people that could work in alliances together, who are people who you can collaborate with them.

46:09 Coach, you can do that. Christian, you can do that. Ser definitely Joe, yes. Q, I don't know. Like he's an agent of chaos. Tiff is an agent of chaos to a certain degree as well. Like I don't know if she >> say Q is not on her tribe as well. So she gets unless there's a swap, this could be very good for Tiffany. >> Yeah, 100%. So I'm just looking at these people. I'm like who can work with alliances? Who can work with others, right? And yes, Tiff did do that prior to the merge and then after the merge, she was kind of in a bad spot. So we did like to your point, we probably just didn't see enough. And I think that uncertainty when you're coming into a season like that where you know that there's certainty with other players and what their game looks like and how they would have played with an alliance. If I had to make that decision, I don't know if Tiff's going to be the first person that I'd gravitate towards, but depending on the tribe makeup and which tribe she's in, she might find some other people there that also need that person that's on an island of their own, you know, and could very quickly create those bonds.

47:04 Let's see what people are saying here. Willie saying we need mail, then let's pick strong man for immunity points like Jonathan or Ozzy. would prefer Jonathan over Ozzy if you all want immunity. Beast next pick. What friends does Jonathan have? Unless there is a swap. This is a modern survivor. There is going to be a swap. That's true. who do you guys want for this next one? Let us know. It sounds like the consensus is Jonathan, but let us know officially who you would like for this. >> There was a heated debate here between It looks like it was between Jonathan and Ozzy. But let's do a proper round of voting. >> Yes, let's do a proper round of voting between >> I've got a I've got a hot take on Ozzy. I feel like as Ozzy is getting older and older, he's looking more and more like Robert [laughter] with the hairstyle. Like it's like, is he morphing into Robert? Robert made his way on to season 50.

47:54 >> You should get some tie dye. He'll be, you know, split image >> 100%. [laughter] He's probably still be a way more capable though when it comes to the challenges because a lot of people are a lot of people are thinking that Ozzy won't have it anymore, but he's not that old. Ozzy is only like I looked at >> 43 or something. >> He's 43. Like I feel like give him a day or two to lose a little bit of the, you know, the comfort fat of just being out there, you know, living normal life like we all have. and you know, get that island body going. Like I reckon he's going to be right back in it. He's going to be climbing the trees. He's going to be out there fishing. You know, Aussiey's Ozzy. Like you don't you know, class is permanent. You don't lose that. >> Yeah. Well, I'm a little Well, I'm not Well, let's not talk about Ozzy until Ozzy gets picked, I guess. [laughter] >> Okay. Let's see who Okay, so who's the vote here? So, I vote Jonathan for immunity run.

48:44 I vote Ozzy as friends. So, two for Jonathan at the moment. I feel like we're going to go Jonathan. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. So, Jonathan, what's your thoughts on Jonathan coming back this season? >> I think in the history Jonathan has been in the history of all Survivor, I think Jonathan has been the strongest player pretty much of all time. I think he's even stronger >> physically strong. You mean like just physically? >> Yeah, >> physically strong. Yeah. in terms of like challenges. so that's a huge plus especially if there's some challenges like 42 where he has to literally do an entire challenge by himself. I think he's going to rack up a ton of points there. And I think actually socially he's actually much better than 42 led him like showed him. so I'm a big fan of Jonathan and I think that strategically though he is a little bit on the weaker side.

49:40 I think maybe he's a little bit on one-dimensionally strategically, but >> typically when people come back for a second time, they get they would have learned from their first season. So, >> you know, it's something that is learnable, whereas being super physical is not as learnable as much. >> So, I'm pretty high on Jonathan. I think Jonathan has a good chance of getting it pretty far, pretty far, maybe to the top eight. And it's like how much can he win or how much can he maneuver with the players that he's with. I it for me it's a it's kind of an unknown if he can sort of get that far, >> but I like I want to root for him actually. I was a big fan of him during his season. >> I'm high on Jonathan. like he was one of the three players I was kind of like between him, Joe, D that I was thinking about choosing. So good pick by the fans here to take him off the board. I was always impressed by Jonathan even in his first season that he played.

50:32 I thought that he had, you know, some people towards the end of the season said that he wasn't that emotionally intelligent and things like that, but I actually thought he had a high level of emotional intelligence throughout most of that season to connect with people that in his everyday life, I don't think Jonathan hangs out with the tribe that he had from the start and you know, go very deep and he made it like he to your point so clearly stood out as a physical threat that the fact that he made it as deep as he did in the game while not winning immunity very often. I think he only won two individual immunities premerge, right? So, it wasn't an immunity run that kept him deep in the game. It was a social game and it was the connections he was making. So, I thought he had a pretty good skill for the game or like a certain aptitude when it comes to the game, but he obviously just it was never going to be his season. People it was too obvious. He stood out in that cast. There was no one. The only other person he found that was kind of like him was Mike, his good friend Mike, who obviously made it to the end, but Mike was like, I don't know, maybe two decades older than him coming into the season.

51:30 So, again, Mike, if Mike was like two decades younger, he would have been Jonathan. Like, they're kind of like almost the same, but there was no other young, strong, alpha kind of character on that season. So, the fact that he made it that far, in my opinion, actually speaks volumes for his game. But, I think to this show, early stages, he's going to have no problem. He's going to get through the early stages. They're going to want him for the physicality. I actually reckon Jonathan's tribe I'm putting a hot take out there that again don't go to tribal once before the merge. Like I just feel like unless he lands on I just don't see how Jonathan loses. Like he's such a team player. He's so good at those team immunity challenges and he carries so hard that they will have to have like just a really bad time at puzzles or something for him not to be able to make it and win those early challenges. I really like him. I don't know why. He's he seems like a likable guy and also he's good friends with Rob Boston Rob outside of the game.

52:21 So I feel like they would have talked and pregamed a lot about like what is the perfect thing to do. Maybe he's like I feel like he networks a bit outside of the show with other Survivor players. So I think he might come into the show with some hidden connections that we're not aware of coming into the season. So overall pretty high on this pick. Andre, if you don't have anything else to add to that, who is going to be your next pick? >> Yeah, I do have something to add. I see that he's on a tribe with coach, so I feel like he will fit the role quite nicely as sort of like a Tyson from Heroes Versus Village. >> 100%. >> I think that he'll slot right into that. I think this is a very good task for him. I think there is sort of like people in his demographic that I think he's going to perform quite well just because of those connections. So yeah, pretty high on him. yeah. So, for my next pick, this is probably the hardest pick so far, and I feel like I've been alternating between sort of players and characters and the players and characters.

53:17 So, I think the next one is going to have to be a character. Maybe a little bit of player in there as well. And I'm going to say Rick Devens. >> Solid. Solid. we also saw him, I think, in one of the previews. big Rick Devens fan. talk about him like what makes you excited about him coming back and playing the game finally after we know that he was in the running to come back and potentially play around 40 before they changed the whole format of the season. >> Yeah, for sure. I think Rick actually greatly has an advantage for having waited so long to play. he's sort of in the Christian you know Chrissy type of archetype where people kind of have forgotten him somewhat and they also remember that he didn't do too well at the start and obviously the last part of his game was quite impressive at least I guess physically but he also he also benefits for not winning as well and the way that he lost >> I think is something that he wants to rectify and I think that would be the ultimate redemption story for him.

54:23 I also want to root for Devons. I think that he was such a character and a lot of people I think maybe got a little bit too much Rick Deans early on, but I think it's been enough time for us to take a bit of a breather and be like, I want round two. And I think actually people are clamoring for him as a character. I do have a hot take. I think that his season was actually one of the most underrated seasons in the last 20. I would say I think it's everybody talks badly about that season, but it was one of my favorites actually. So, for that reason alone, I'm very keen to have a representative here. >> and just the fact that sort of Chris B Chris I did see Chris's challenge season. the fact that how well Chris did actually makes Rick Deans look a lot more impressive in comparison now that sort of we've seen a little bit more of Chris.

55:21 So yeah, I think I think I'm happy to have him on the team and hopefully he goes far. >> Yeah. I like Rick Devens. I think that he's a great narrator. you're not you don't have Jonathan Penner this season. I know he was in the running as a as a storyteller and we always look for these storyteller type of characters whereas Christian is there obviously. So there's clearly a trend in the players that you're picking here with Christian and both Rick Devens. I think they're in the same archetype. They're probably not in the same tribe. I think I remember them being in different tribes. They're probably splitting them out in different tribes. if they were in the same tribe, it would have been good. >> They are on the same tribe actually. That's going to be a wild >> Yeah. That's really good for them. I have a feeling Rick Dons and Christian will work well together. so that's probably positive for both of them. yeah. And also, correct me if I'm wrong here, he won a lot of challenges like he won the he won obviously the redemption exile island or what?

56:18 Redemption Island. What was what was the twist again that season? >> Edge of Edge of Extinction. >> Edge of Extinction. He won Edge of Extinction. Do we have Edge of Extinction on this season? Jeff loves it for the returning season coming back. >> Did anybody Did anybody vote for that? Was it in the hands of the fans? I don't think it was. H hopefully not because I feel like >> the season. Yeah. >> Yeah. I hopefully it's not back but if it is back like I think Rick Deans the experience of having played a season with that will definitely help him if he does end up landing on the edge. Willie is saying no Edge of Extinction and to me to me that's good. I don't think Edge of Extension >> put that into the universe. We don't need that. We don't need that in our life. >> Yeah. [laughter] Hey, I thought you said you loved the season, you know, but if Edge of Extinction came back, >> I feel like if Age of Extinction came back, Dream would have been there. Like, you can't do another Age of Extinction without Dream. Like, you have to bring it back.

57:08 [laughter] >> Well, with the twist, actually. I mean, I loved I hated Redemption, but I loved San Juan Del. So, there you go. >> Yeah. Yeah, for sure. no. I think Rick Deon's going to be fun to play like, but I feel like he won a couple of challenges and things like that, but he doesn't look intimidating like physically, but he's actually good at immunities and challenges. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. And also >> under the radar there. >> Under the radar, I think people would have forgotten to your point, if he came back sooner, probably people would have been a lot more on it than what they are now. And then the other part of it as well is he is really good at finding idols. >> And that is a skill in its own, right, to go out and find idols. So, obviously the game's changed a lot since then and sometimes you just get it by getting on a boat and you get some advantages, but for those beware advantages and things like that, I think he's probably going to run into one or two of those when he's out there. okay.

57:59 So, this next one, tough decision. It's getting a little bit harder to choose. And I'm just going to go on people that I'm actually interested in seeing. I'm going to stick to that theme for this one because the last two, like I started with coach. Coach was my first pick. I really was I was so excited to see him. such a big get for the season. And this person apparently was the first person to reach out to production to ask and to come back and play the game. And I for I'm lowkey the biggest Kobby Donaldson fan. Low key to be honest with you. And I know it's a hot take. I know there's I'm probably going to get absolutely steamrolled by the fans picking him this high coming into this show. But Kobby Donaldson, I've got this thing. I was a kid maybe I can't remember 12 or 13 when I watched Colobby Donaldson play the first time. and he was the all-American hero playing that season, winning all the immunities, you know, played such a good honorable game, made the bad move at the end and Tina won because he took it to the end, then came back in All Stars, fell flat, you know, they took him out.

58:59 He was too big of a threat. It wasn't really, I think, too much about anything that he did necessarily in the game. It was just he came back too soon. He had to come back. He was one of the biggest gets for the All-Star season. got voted out very early on and then comes back for Heroes versus Villains and goes through this humbling experience out there, Andre, where he's no longer the alpha. He's no longer the best performing character. In fact, coach beat him and one of the challenges that I had to go head tohead and people were like, I can't believe coach is dragging Colby and he was called Superman in a fat suit by James, right? So, an iconic player from Heroes versus Villains. one, in my opinion, one of the biggest legacy players of Survivor, like everybody knows, the original Texan who played the game, Colobby Donaldson, the old American, coming back to play the game again, now a lot older, hopefully a lot wiser, Andre, knows that he's not going to be that youthful person anymore.

59:49 And I just like him because he, I think, socially did extremely well in Heroes versus Villains. Like, people liked him. even though he didn't do well and he couldn't win those challenges, they still wanted Colby around because Col's philosophy, even in Ner's villains, he talks about that is that you want to be likable and you want people to want to work with you out on the beach. And I think sometimes we get so far away from the social game and the core dynamics of what makes people want to work with you and have you out there. And I think people are going to look at Colby and say, "Yeah, he's not that big of a threat anymore. He's not the guy he was when he played in season 2. He's not that physical beast. And he's someone that is kind of loyal and I can work with and build alliances with." And I think they're gonna, again, he was in the in the preview for the season. I think he's going to get a lot of confessionals. I know we don't give confessional points, but I think that the, you know, he's got that relationship with production where anytime he phones to say he's ready to play the game, they'll put him on the cast. And apparently, he was the first one to do it as well.

1:00:41 So, I'm excited because Col's excited. I think he knows where he went wrong. And I just want to see a redemption arc for him. Even though his last season wasn't that bad and he got fifth place, I just think that he can come back and close this chapter on a high note. Yeah, I think Kobe actually played a quite a decent game in Heroes versus Villains. It was clearly a villain's game. it was clearly a villains game from the very beginning or I guess since the merge. as soon as they got screwed over by JT, it was there was no way that he could win. So, he made the he did the he got the best out of a bad situation. And I think I think there's two there's two Colies. There's a Colby that was that played Australian Outback and was on Kerb enthusiasm. You've got the Colby from Heroes Versus Villains and All Stars. It was the grump the grumpy Colby. >> Grumpy one. Yeah. Yeah. >> Yeah. I don't even if a grumpy Colby can get pretty close to winning Heroes versus Villains because I think he was he was actually relatively close to winning Heroes versus Villains if he had won a couple of immunities.

1:01:40 I feel but you know, I think that speaks to him as a character. I think that he's somebody that will always have to rely upon immunity challenges to win as he did in well he didn't even win the Australian Outback. He made probably one of the worst decisions of all time. But that being said, I think that you know he's a more mature person. He's more likely to be that just based on the interviews I see in the comments that he seems to be a little bit more excited to be back and maybe it's been what 20 years now. Has it been 20? It's been 16 years since he last played. I think that there will be a sort of renewed interest from him. and maybe he can play like maybe a Joe type of game where he can sort of start to maybe not necessarily be the most physical person in the world, but you know, be more like the old Colby.

1:02:33 And I'm hoping for that because he does have a legacy. and I just don't want sort of like a an Ozzy game changers type experience where you barely see him. I want I want to see him as a as a character. I think we're all rooting for Colby as a character. Maybe whether or not he wins it's I'm up in the L for, but I want to see that legacy be a have a massive stamp on this season. >> Yeah, a couple of comments coming in here. Chris saying Kobe's legacy pick for you, which I agree. Willie says, "Lobbyby Donaldson after his first season hasn't been the same." And then Sandy saying, "I've been surprised by Col's pregame interviews. He looks happy to be back and I'm glad he's back. Too bad there's no Jerry on the cast. And I think it's one of the reasons because I haven't seen everybody's preseason things, but you know, sometimes when I'm at work and I'm in lunch, I like to scroll the Tik Toks like the kids do these days, you know.

1:03:23 And you see these little pregame comments coming up or interviews that they're having behind the scenes. And I got that same vibe, Sandy, seeing Col's pregame sort of just his view on life and coming back to play the game, why he wanted to play the game. He's aware that the last two times he wasn't in the right head space when he played it. And to your point, even still went quite deep. So, I'm excited to see what he does. And about Jerry not being back, I would have loved to have seen Jerry, but I'm okay with Jerry coming back in a different season. In some ways, I'm actually happy Colby gets to play this season on his own. And I would want for Jerry to come back and play her season on her own as well. They don't have to always come back and play the same seasons in my mind. In fact, it's kind of I think it's good because he doesn't come in with any In fact, it's good for him. there's no baggage coming into this season cuz Jerry clearly she there's still something there like Colby said like you know I'm sad not to have Jerry here in his voting thing and she went back to say do you guys really believe that?

1:04:17 So she's still got a thing there like [laughter] so I think it's good for him that Jerry's not on this season. Okay, I've got the next pick as well. And I can go so many different ways here. And I'm leaning I'm leaning old school, the nostalgia of old school, seeing Stephanie back on the beach, you know, after such a long time. I kind of want to see her do well this season. She's made the finals before, similar to Colby. Colby and her kind of have that, I think, unspoken sort of bond and they will work together if they get the opportunity in the game. And in fact, I think they're in the same tribe. I think production looked out for him a little bit. I do think that they would work together. >> They are on the same tribe together. They're on the same tribe of Q. So, >> yeah. Interesting. So, I feel like there's something there that potentially could work for them. so yeah, Stephanie coming back.

1:05:08 I like her. She's a she's a game player and again didn't have the best time out on Heroes versus Villains, but I felt really bad for her. I thought she was picked on by James early on that season, saying that she was the reason that her original tribe lost every single tribal council. She was outside of the numbers, which I think was predominantly maybe a bit of a pregame alliance with the Black Widows and you know, we had Cirie, Amanda, and James working together very early on and then JT going that way and the heroes her tribe. So yeah, I don't know. I just felt like we again, it's a big character from the early stages. She was beloved in her first season, the only person who survived from her tribe to go into a murder situation, come back, do extremely well, probably not as likable in her second season, and that's why she ultimately lost because she was such a game player and so ruthless. I don't know if she wins this game, but just from a standpoint of me rooting for certain players and wanting certain players to come back and play the game.

1:06:01 And also me wishing that we get more great casting like some of these early castings that we had on Survivor. I just want to put her in my draft and I want to root for her this season. Andre, I don't know what your thoughts are about Stephanie. She did play a couple of reality shows recently, Snake in the Grass and also Traders. So, she's still a gamer. >> Yeah, I didn't see her season of Snake in the Grass or The Traders. I think she played with Ser on both occasions there actually. so I don't have any further knowledge on how she is like now after I guess heroes versus 16 years. >> she's still pretty intense. Yeah, I just never I don't see her ever winning. And I'll eat my words if she does win, if she somehow has like figured out the recipe. She will she's a player that will get far, but in thus getting far, she will never she'll burn too many bridges to ever win.

1:06:51 I just don't see anybody ever really voting for her to win. I guess she did make it pretty far, but Danny beat her. So, and Danny didn't really have the best showing in Winners of War either. So, that probably puts things in perspective for me. again, another legacy player. I do like legacy players sort of, you know, making stamping newer seasons. I think that makes the season that elevates the season a little bit more. I just don't see sort of Stephanie getting too far. Like I like not much past merger. I don't think there's many people in the class section really click with. I don't know how she played with Cirie. I don't think she has too many connections. >> Yeah, they get along. >> Ser and Stephanie, they get along. Yeah. So, I think >> Oh, yeah. That might change it. Yeah, three could drag Stephanie in my opinion, too. if both of them are able to get far. Are they on the same >> I don't know if they're on the same >> I don't think Sice with Colby and Steph Stephanie.

1:07:46 I think they're in different tribes, but if they do meet up at some stage, >> Sice played she's played with Stephanie before now. I feel like there's the connection between the two of them. And the audience can definitely correct me if I'm wrong here, but I feel like there's a show, what was it? It was Traders that I think they played together, >> Snake in the Grass, I believe. >> And Snake in the Grass. And I think they got along pretty well on Traders. They actually had each other's back for quite a bit in that season. So I feel like that bodess well cuz S's a loyalty player. She's played with you before. She knows she can play with you. I think that they could work together. And then by extension of Si's game, that brings other allies into her game as well. And with that social game that S's got. then you're banking on Ser going deep in it. So definitely could go one of either way here, but like I said, I just want a draft of players, Andre, that I really enjoy rooting for this season. So, you know, not taking it too serious here. Maybe I should play for the win.

1:08:38 But, you know, I've embraced Jeff's new era of Survivor. Let's just have fun. Let's have fun with the show, Andre, and I'm having fun with this draft. Okay, over to you for the next one. actually just before I get you to do this next one, I wanted to acknowledge Chris's comment here saying Stephanie could be on the typical new era disaster tribe and it won't even phase her. Been there, done that. That's true. She was the original disaster tribe. so she would be more than comfortable in that situation. Andre, over to you. Who's your next pick? Yeah, this one's another pretty tough one because there's no one that really comes out of me as like either I really want to root for them over everyone else or that I think is going to win over everyone else. so I think I'm just going to close my eyes and hope for the best. And I'm going to go with someone that I don't think I'll get again. that's it. Yeah, know this is tough. I'm down to two and I should do I want to do the one that I root for or do I do the one that I think might win?

1:09:34 I'm gonna go with one that I'm really fun. Andre, >> yeah, >> Jenna Lewis >> is my pick. >> Jenna Lewis, there we go. All the way from Borneo. >> Yes. I think I've been very like inspired by your last two picks, you know, legacy picks. And I feel like I haven't actually had I don't have a legacy character on my on my team. I think that Jenna Lewis played an exceptional game in All Stars. don't know if she can win. but she I feel like she actually almost did win. all stars. >> She was banking on Rob or Amber cutting each other. And we all know how that went. It's like how often do you have a couple that comes out of Survivor, then I having four kids. Like there was no way they were going to break up. But we didn't know that at the time. her strategy to get rid of the winners and actually just finding I don't think she has anything against winners.

1:10:28 I think that she was very smart in saying here's a clear target. Let's all band around this and let's just get out the people that we want to get out and as long as kind of to borrow sort of strand Sandra's phrase as long as it isn't me I will go to the end and she was very instrumental in bringing together Robert Amber and Rob. So I think that was a pretty strong alliance. She can create alliances. She was there from their beginning. She has a legacy. She could have won Allst Star in my opinion. I know a lot of people will probably disagree. but yeah, I just want to root for her because it's like she was she's we haven't seen her in so long. She was on season one and to me that's just I got to have that on my team. >> Yeah. I had one person here in the audience. I think Will said good pick Jenna Lewis could make friends out there.

1:11:20 I don't Jenna know Lewis I think she's going at the right time of the draft here kind of mid draft because it could go either way for her. She's been out of the game for so long. I don't know how in touch she you know stayed with the community outside of the game since she's played in Allst Star. we just saw a season in season 40 where a lot of these old school players really fell flat and they didn't really deliver when they came back. I've got a feeling that this season is going to be very different. I feel like even though there's it's definitely leaning more new school, mid school to new school in cast, I just think the old school players are going to play a bit more ruthless coming back in this game. I think they've got a point to prove and Jenna Lewis is one of those players. She is a strategist. I think she's one of those strategists that are forgotten by people who aren't super fans because to your point, she didn't win that season and she just fell short. So it's like in sports, right?

1:12:11 You always remember the teams that won the championship. You don't remember the runner up or the people who played for third place, right, in the third place playoff. So, she's kind of >> I do want to make a I do want to make a comparison on that. I think that the best comparison that she has is probably Kimmy Kappenberg in Survivor Second Chances. >> She played very well, Kimmy. and I wasn't expecting that because she was not a strong player in her original season. >> I think that I think that Jenna Lewis will play a very similar game to Kimmy and might do even better than Kimmy does. Yeah, we've while we've been talking about Jenna Lewis, which I'm excited to see as well, I'm just going to put Charlie on because it's already been decided by the audience that he'll be the next pick. They've sort of sorted it out while we've been talking about Jenna Lewis. I like that pick for you. I think Jenna Lewis, like I hope she does well.

1:13:02 Like I just want those legacy picks to come in, do well, be on the screen for long enough. And hopefully if they're there long enough and if the audience really takes to this season, it opens Jeff's eyes to we want more returnee seasons and we want more old school players coming back. The nostalgia is a thing that is real and I think it's going to bring people back. Like there are people who stopped watching Survivor but will come back for coach. They'll come back for Colby. They'll come back for Jenna Lewis or some of Serei. How can I forget? Like some of these old school players coming back and I think they're all big gets this season. Charlie being picked here next. I was I was looking at the remaining people that was still left on the board here and definitely he stood out as a player that I think he could have should have I know could have should have didn't doesn't really get you the win but I feel like he should have potentially won this season. He was very strong strategically that season.

1:13:54 I know people really who was it Kenzie who won that season. I forgot his name. >> Yeah. So yeah, he got backstabbed at the end by his main ride or die [laughter] and it ended up costing him from memory. That's my memory of that season. And I wasn't the biggest fan of Charlie because he couldn't stop talking about Taylor Swift. And yes, you know, I'm not like the biggest Taylor Swift fan in the world. Like I don't dislike her, but it's just what's going on. I don't if he talks about Taylor Swift again this season, it'll do my head in. But he was a good strategic player and I don't know where he sits in his in his legacy coming in this season. And like people are probably looking at him thinking we got to get him out. He's too smart coming into this game. Like he's a he's a bit of a he's probably in that position that Rick Devens would have been in if he returned in season 40 or season 4142. Like I think the threat level is going to be something that he's going to have to work out. But there's definitely a redemption arc or a redemption story to his return in the game where he didn't quite get there.

1:14:50 But a lot of times these players that get second place and they get so close like your Aussies, your Colby, they come back in the next season and they fall flat and Charlie could potentially go down that same path. But definitely not a bad pick for this point in the game. I am surprised between you and me that Ozzy didn't get selected by the team before, but they probably wanted a strategic threat after having chosen Jonathan in the round before. >> Yeah, there's no other real strategic I guess Chrissy. Oh, three obviously in that team. But yeah, that makes a lot of sense. I for me with Charlie, I think for me Charlie's probably a better player than I think he is. there was a what there was such a big backlash in the community that Maria basically turned her back on him. But in fairness, Charlie made a decision and he had to deal with the consequences of that decision.

1:15:43 I think he took Maria's vote for granted, but that's my that's just my hot take. And really the only real memorable thing that I can remember about Charlie is obviously the Taylor Swift stuff which I don't care about. But I think that's a damning indictment of him as a character in if that's the only thing you can you can remember much about him then yeah maybe he's not going to be the best TV this season. >> But I could be wrong like he's such a I feel like he knows sort of what he needs to do to win. I think he, you know, he's probably along with Dom, I think he's probably the closest to have won that never has one. so I will say that's something that he has where he's >> I guess. So, yeah. he's come so close to winning without actually winning.

1:16:33 So, he doesn't have that target, but I guess I guess look what happened to Ozzy in when he returns. So, maybe that doesn't mean as much as I think it does. but I'm pretty like I'm pretty neutral on Charlie. I'm just like, as long as he doesn't talk about Taylor Swift, I'll actually probably be rooting for him. The moment he talks about Taylor Swift, I might just be like, I'm good. I'm good, man. I'm glad I don't have him on my team. We'll see how it goes. >> Yeah. [laughter] Shots fired from Andre there to the audience. states, welcome to the live stream. It's great to have you. Angel Cake saying, "I will I say I'll always remember when the Patriots lose the Super Bowl." yeah, fair enough. I think for the fans of that specific team or that specific player, you'll remember it, but for the general fandom, I think you sometimes forget about those second place or loser seasons, but I'm the same with rugby. I always remember when the spring box didn't win a World Cup.

1:17:25 It's not been many recently. [laughter] humble brag. Angel C is in the ca in that case I remember second place. so, okay. So, who do you guys want for your next one? So at the moment there's two being proposed by Willie. It's Rizo and Savannah. So season 49 the two season 49 players being recommended here. Sandy says yes and if we pick a 49ers I would vote for Rizo because winners would have higher threat level. So we'll give them an opportunity to think about who they are going to pick next year. >> Pop to the toilet for a second. >> Go for it. I'll talk to the I'll talk to the audience. so Chris here is saying Rizo. So we've got one for Rizo. Willie is also going Rizo. So we've got two for Rizo at this stage.

1:18:17 So very interested to see where are we going to land on this one. And you know, while we're contemplating who's going to be this next pick. It's looking like it's going to be Rizo. And unless I see something else coming in, I am putting Rizo in there. Yep. Angel Cake also confirmed. Rizo as the next pick here. Rizo obviously just played 49. has a bit of the Russell Hans effect that is I think going to take place here because I've seen in the early sort of content that have come up on my stream and my feed that people are talking about the unknown of Rizo. like Rizo would have been a big player like we you know coach said I remember what it was like when Russell came on and you know Russell lied to us about why he was a villain and I think some of that effect has scarred certain players like your coach your colies and that who got to play with Russell from that season they didn't really know who Russell was and I think that effect is something that Rizo is going to have to deal with because they know he didn't win because a lot of them have already found out somehow that Savannah the winner from what I can tell in the preseason content.

1:19:29 So that means that Rizo must have been either a strategic player or someone that was sneaky or villainous or something like that got him the call back to come back and play backto-back season. So I think from that perspective, Rizo is potentially walking into some trouble. when I was watching the season 49, it's the season that I speedwatched through the whole season. I was asking myself the question the whole time and I was talking to Andre about this off air and I was like I don't understand why Rizo got called back to be honest. Like that was my biggest thing. Like he's a fun character, sure, but like I feel like he I don't know if it's recency bias Andre but people just saw him play recently, but it didn't seem like he was this big strategic mastermind. So I think that his threat level is going to be way higher than what it probably needs to be coming into the season just based on the fact that people didn't see him play. I think with Rizo, his social games a lot stronger than people give him credit for because I think people came into his season thinking that he was referring to himself as the RZ god and that seemed a little bit of obnoxious but then you notice it's kind of like a Johnny Fairplay type of thing where he's only talking to the audience and not to the people and just seemed like everybody liked him and I think actually his game is a social game and his game is like yeah he held on to the idol but he was only able to do that through social maneuvering.

1:20:48 I did not know that they know that Savannah was the winner and not Rizo because that might change a few things about this pick. but I think I think Rizo is a fine player. He might be a little bit young and inexperienced, but I guess so is Charlie. I think I personally think that Rizo is a better player than Charlie and probably came closer to winning than Charlie did as well. despite Charlie getting the votes, the point of the m the fact of the matter is Charlie never had those votes to begin with. no matter who he went with because Maria wouldn't have voted for him anyway. but Rizo, I think if Rizo was in Savannah's place and if he had won that final immunity challenge or fire making, I think he would have won. He didn't win the final fire making challenge, but we don't know if there's going to be a fire making challenge this season. So, I think Rizo is a really good pick. Actually, I think Rizo is probably the better pick out of now knowing the Savannah and Rizo and who knows what.

1:21:41 I think that Rizo is actually a better pick than Savannah now. I would have said the opposite earlier, but that's interesting. >> Yes, I think that for me Rizo is another he's a character pick. He's like one of the bigger characters from not at the queue level character, but that's probably a good thing for [laughter] him. >> Yeah. But he's a he's a good he's a he's a big character. and he's a fun pick to bring back. So, to your point, it's a it's a Jeff one here to get him to come back and play the game and I'd like for him to go well, but if he does any shenanigans like he did in the last season where he just holds on to his idol the whole season, that stuff's not going to fly in any other season. Like, the fact that he got away with it in the previous season to me is absolutely crazy, but it's not going to fly in a returning season like this. So, but I also think Rizo is smart enough to know that it wouldn't. So, I don't think he would play that same game this time around. So I'm interested I'm interested to see how he adapts.

1:22:34 I'm interested to see how he does. I kind of mentioned it when you were away that he comes in with a lot of players talking about Russell Hans in their early preseason content and they're getting flashbacks of that which is not a good thing for him like your coach or your colies who actually saw what he did and the fact that he got to play back to back. So he's going to have to overcome that but I also think he's such a likable guy that people might just lower their guard a little bit if they get to know him on a personal to your point the social game. Andre, next one for you. Who are you going for? >> Yeah, I would have taken Rizo, but I'm going to go with Savannah. I think it's only right for these two to go at the same time. because they're both unknowns, relative unknowns. I think that, yeah, with Savannah, with people knowing that Savannah won, that might be a little bit problematic, I would say.

1:23:25 But then again, Sandra won before. Tony, you know, obviously won it won before. and then spoilers for the Australian se season u poverty one. So it's not out of the realm of possibility. I think with the reason I chose I'm choosing Savannah rel I would say relatively early on because with the Russell Hanss effect I would probably tend to take people a little bit later just because of the threat level. but I think Savannah was one of the players that she's the most like how I would play if I played Survivor. I was very much rooting for her. I love the way that she played. I know she rubbed a lot of people the wrong way, including the audience, but I actually really liked her as a character. I really liked her the way that she played the game, her personality. Even if she did right, rob people the wrong way. I think that she's a very strong pick.

1:24:16 She has won before, she knows how to win. And the way I thought that she was dead in the water in the final tribal council, but I was completely wrong. She read the situation amazingly, in my opinion. Yeah. So, >> I like her, by the way. >> Yeah, >> I reckon Savannah I don't know how you feel about Savannah, but and again, maybe it's again it's recency bias because I watched 49. I really enjoyed 49. I talked to you before I started watching and you're like, "Oh, if I'm if you need to watch one, watch 49 before 48." And I did and I'm glad I listened to your recommendation because I think she's maybe she's to me not that far behind D as a winner. Like I think she's probably the second best winner we've seen in the new era. And I don't think much separates the two of them to be honest. >> Yeah. Point. >> Yeah. I almost think that depending on how this season goes, if Savannah somehow makes it further than D, I think that people might regard Savannah as a better winner than D.

1:25:13 Even if Savannah doesn't win, just because they are very I would say they're very similar type of players. >> they come in with different threat levels though. You've got to be honest about that cuz nobody saw Savannah win. So they don't know if she just did it because she was likable or like they don't know the strategic site or how dominant she was. And you know what the funny thing is? I was thinking about this as I was watching her season and as she went to the win like you know how we mark certain people down for finding idols and keeping themselves safe. I don't or you know people win immunities out and they win. I also don't write them down, but a lot of the community will always feel like if somebody immunity run their way to the end and they win that it's not as good or if they find idols to get to the end, it's not as good. I actually think that it's a different skill set that I respect. Every single season is won in a different way. I in fact like community runs. I like community plays.

1:26:03 Like for me that's always an exciting way to see somebody win the game rather than just by the strategic social game, but I also respect that part of it. And I was wondering what people thought of Savannah's win because I wasn't following it live. And if people were sort of downgrading her win based on the fact that she won so many immunities to get there, but in my mind, it only adds to her legacy and it makes her an even better winner because she just outright beasted her way towards the end. And I thought she had a pretty good game and she was the number one target for such a long time. Like she had no other way to get to the end that season, right? >> Then again, didn't So Sofh won the final immunity challenge. So, she didn't she didn't really I guess she won the final fire making challenge, but nobody beast her way to the end. I don't in the history of Survive has anybody beasted their way to the end. >> I guess was probably the closest, but I mean that's including Immunity Idols as well. >> withd Ben Dberen with the idol plays for instance and things like that.

1:27:00 I don't rate like I don't downgrade those winners that much based on the fact that they won that way. I thought it's just it's very unique. Like then to your point, it doesn't happen all that often. So when it happens, it's actually >> it's pretty impressive in my mind. and even though they might know that she's a winner coming into this season, they don't know how good she is at the individual portion of the show and winning these immunities. So I don't think she'll tell anyone that. >> Yeah. The unknown threat though, I think, is actually more of a detraction than D's known threat. I think people are more afraid of the unknown than the known. Everyone knows that D will stab you in the back, right? >> Yeah. >> Exactly. Yeah. >> Who's D flirting with? Who's D flirting with this season, Andre? Like I don't think there's any like she'd probably flirt a little bit with like Rizo. I can see that. >> I mean, who's single? Yeah, Rizo is not single.

1:27:50 I guess >> he's not sing. >> Ozzy. Is Ozzy single? I don't know. >> I feel like here. >> Yeah, >> Ozzy is always single. I'm going to guess Ozzy for this one. >> Yeah, fair enough. Safe bet. Safe bet. Chris is saying Tony mentioned here and it wasn't Chris who brought him up. Well to what you don't know Chris is that Andre had to go through a very thorough vetting process before we let him onto the channel to come and talk here. And one of the biggest things is that you know you have to devote all of your love to Tony. Admit that he's the greatest player of all time on Survivor. And if you can't admit to that then you're not welcome on the podcast. Right. So, I've got a very thorough vetting process to getting people on the channel. [laughter] >> Pull my hand. Yeah. >> I like I love I love Tony and it's still hurting me very deeply that the last two times he's gone onto the channel to play the game that he has a Oh, like I guess the last couple of times he's played the game.

1:28:47 It hasn't gone well for him and traders and both Survivor. what else is here? She flirts with Mike White to get a came white lotus. [laughter] I see that. I see that. >> [snorts] >> I'm glad Andre met the met the Tony quota. okay. So, next pick for me. I've been having so much fun seeing you guys pick who you're picking and now I don't know which way to go. you know, I'm just going to go I am going to take like I didn't think I didn't come into the show thinking I was going to pick Ozzy. but I just feel like I can't leave him much longer. And I've got the next two picks, so I could have picked him in the next round, but he just needs to go in one of these next two spots. He's probably going to be taken after this. And you know, I don't know, like somebody said earlier that they're not that excited to see Ser come back and play the game. I don't know if I'm all that excited to see Ozzy coming back and play this game again.

1:29:37 Like I've seen him a few times now. What would this be? His fifth time playing Survivor Andre. >> Yeah, I think. Yeah. Yeah, because he did the first his first one then fans versus favorite >> game changers South >> South Pacific Game Changers and then now Yeah. game changers and now fifth time. So, I just don't know like five times. He is one of the bigger legacy players again and again clear theme here that I'm going for the legacy players. I guess it's just worked out that way. I did not come into it thinking I was going to pick Ozzy. I just think Aussiey's best game was his first game and since then it has sort of gone backwards. and I don't know how >> Yeah. Yeah. South Pacific was very good. him sacrificing himself to go and win his way back in the game to ensure that they had numbers going into the merge. Smart game play.

1:30:27 No other player probably would have or could have done that in that moment. so I do give him all the respect for that. The story line between him and coach is going to be interesting to see this season if they do get on the same beach at some point. Will they be able to work together? There's clearly bad blood there. Coach believes that Ozzy is the reason he lost that season because Ozzy went to go poison the jury quite a bit against him. and that he would have done well if it wasn't for that. If that's true or not, I don't know. but I but I think, you know, to let him slide any lower than this probably would be doing a disservice to Ozzy as a character of the show. And also the fact that I think like we talked about it earlier, he's 43. He's not that old. Like he can still pull it out. I think that, you know, some of some of the greatest winners we've had and challenge beasts that we had, like how old was Terry when he played the first time? I'm pretty sure he was in his 40s or something like that. late. Yeah, >> late 40s. So, I think that Ozzy can still do it.

1:31:20 >> Yeah, he's got he's got natural he's got natural athleticism, you know, so even if he's not like fight fit, he's going to come in and find it. I'm sure. he's not going to be quite Jonathan's level of threat. I just don't know about I mean, socially, he's a pretty good player as well. So, I just I don't I don't think Aussiey's going anywhere anytime soon, and he only needs to go on an immunity run to go deep in the game. He's got some connections with some of the old school players like you and that. So, I just think he's a safe bet for this stage in the game. >> Yeah, for me, Ozzy, he is successful in spite himself. I think that he makes a lot of mistakes. He'll own the mistakes as well. but I don't I actually will push back on saying that he's a good social player. I don't think he's actually a terrible social player unless you're friends with him. If you're in with him, you're in with him and you know that. I'm a little bit bummed we didn't see more of him and Cirie in Game Changers because I hear that there was like a pretty deep relationship there as well.

1:32:15 And I'm actually bummed we didn't see him much at all in Game Changers either, but I mean, do we really want more game changers to be honest? Maybe it would have been benefited for 90 minute or two long episodes. but I think I will say that I actually think that his South Pacific game is actually stronger than his first game. he knew what he was doing and he knew his own sort of limitations. He knew that he was a very clicky person. He knew that the other team weren't going to like him. He tried his hardest, but he knew that even if the his plans like you know being a double agent didn't work out, he would still have something to rely upon, which was in this case Redemption Island. And he knew that he was able to win Redemption Island like he was under no illusions. So unless we see sort of fat game changers Ozzy, I have no I have no issue with him sort of physically.

1:33:07 I think that he'll be able to do quite well and I think he's in better shape than he was in game changers as well. So I think that he's sort of like he's like a below average pick for me. but the only reason he's a below average pick for me is because the risk of maybe physically him not being up to scratch. he's not going to be able to sort of win his way out of tough situations which he puts himself into quite a lot. But in terms of character, I mean, he's one of the greatest characters that we've seen. Maybe in the top five, maybe in top 10, top five. So, I'm very looking forward to him and you I've got a hot take where I think apart from like Edge of Extinction, I think that South Pacific is one of the most underrated seasons of all time and I think that he was one of the reasons why that was. So, I'm sort of looking forward to hopefully seeing a bit of a South Pac South Pacific reunion and sort of like maybe a call back to that season because I think that sort of in the history of the show that is one of the seasons that had one of the best or one of the biggest legacies in my opinion.

1:34:04 So, I see this I see Ozzy is one of the most ultimate legacy picks. >> Yeah. And what's your thoughts around because there's quite a bit that's come out. I think in recent times there's been lots of sort of pre-season content. Like Survivor seems pretty loose with what they allow players to talk about these days before the season has even started. And I saw something come up about coach sort of alluding to the fact that Amanda Kimmel or what's I don't know what her last name is now, but Amanda was potentially on the cast to come and play the show, but then when she realized that Ozzy was there, he was alluding to the fact that she pulled out. And obviously there's history between them. She's now in a in a loving marriage with her partner. She's got kids and things. We know that it ended Rocky between them. a lot of fans have been wanting to see Amanda come back and play the game again. I'm one of those fans. I love Amanda. She's one of my favorite female players of all time.

1:34:54 How do you feel about the fact that Ozzy was sort of picked above her or that you know like I guess maybe it wasn't. Survivor was just like get over it [laughter] like you can play if you want and if you don't want to you don't have to kind of thing. Do you have any thoughts about that? I mean, I would have preferred to see Amanda over Ozzy to be honest because I feel like we've seen Ozzy. Well, we've seen Ozzy one more time than Amanda, I guess. so that's probably the only reason. And it's also been longer since we've seen Amanda. So, that would have been interesting just to see if there's changes because I think that's where returning players are the best where you they haven't seen each other for a long we haven't seen them for a long time and they're in a different part of their life and then you might be able to see almost a completely different player. So, I would have been very curious to see what Amanda would have would have been like. That being said, I mean, if you're gonna I guess they are exes and I guess you know Aussiey's known for his extracurricular activities as well.

1:35:47 So, probably for the best just for terms of mental health. I mean, I'm not sure if being stranded on island with your ex is necessarily the most healthy thing, especially when you've got kids at home. And I think that's probably a determining factor as well. I mean, you know, it's one thing to go and you don't have a family at home, but it's another thing with that and then also having kids at home, you're like, you know, maybe it's for the best. >> but yeah, I'm not sure what not sure what to make of the I don't know the full the full story of the full situation. So, I'm sure there might be some We don't know. Yeah. >> Yes, there's probably heaps going on behind the scenes, but like I said, quite interesting to see that tears being spilled before the season is even starting. and it seems pretty loose. and I think a few of these players, like coach probably knows he's never coming back. This is a swan song. Like there's some players that are just talking a lot more freely. Let's see what people are saying here. Chris is saying, "What else does Ozzy have to show us at this point?

1:36:40 He doesn't excite me in the year of 2026." Sandy saying, "Ozzy, in my honest opinion, is the most may return from the old era." Sandy is saying, "Yes, I would never forgive production for choosing Ozzy instead of Amanda." And then, also Chris saying, "Queen Amanda, we missed out on a major icon." and very sad not to see her. She's a great player of this game. I thought she was probably the best player of the Euros tribe that season. I also really like JT and I've got a hot take. I think that JT if things went a little bit differently, he was playing with house money and he was taking some risks, but JT and Heroes versus played with a lot of if that went his way upside like he could have he could have won again. And I think JT is a better player than what people give him credit for. definitely he did damage to his legacy in game changers when he came back. Game changers, right? That's probably the season I was like, "Okay, he lost he lost the plot." >> Yeah, he lost the plot that season.

1:37:33 Okay, so I've got to pick the next player here as well. And it is starting to become slim pickings. There's I mean there's still some proven game players on the board here. just probably from my perspective, people I don't know so well and I don't really know the endgame and what got them there. Like I'm thinking about the you know the 48ers that are still on the board. and then a couple of players I don't know if I want to touch, but I keep going for these iconic players. and I don't know if I should go for another iconic player here at this stage. You know, I just want to I want to have some better mix in my team. Get a couple more female characters on there as well. I'm going to go for Angel. Angela Angelique. What? >> Angelina. >> Angelina, sorry. Angelina. so Angelina, I don't know how she's going to go this season. No idea. But it was a ch for me for me it was a choice between her and Aubry probably at this stage and I just like her more than Aubry.

1:38:28 I think she's a fun player. She should have been back way before. Probably it's what it's probably like eight seasons too late for her return in my opinion and she was just a fun character that season. We forget about the jacket. when she's going to be there I'm going to get some of those iconic points. I'm sure she's going to have some iconic things to say as long as she's in the game. and strategically she was pretty sound that season as well. She went pretty deep. I just don't know how she's going to fit in here as a middle school player. Potentially well, potentially could work with the old school players, potentially could work with the new school players. And that's kind of what I'm banking on. and this is a pick to say, you know, I wasn't excited to see Ozzy come back and play. I am excited to see Angelina come back and play the game. Yeah, so I think she's going to have a hard time just because on her season, I mean, you saw how she dealt with the jacket situation and hiding the idol from who was it that she hid the idol from or No, she planted an idol, right?

1:39:24 Yeah, just I just see her rubbing people the wrong way. Strateg I agree with you. Strategically, she did very well, but I don't know if she could have ever won. just because you get to the end it's sort of like I don't want to compare her to Russell Hans but that's sort of the most connection I can sort of make here she's not as bad as Russell of course >> no there's levels >> exactly it's just the same consistency there it's like she's really fun to watch and you know her schemes are out of this world she's a great character I just don't see her winning but I feel like actually she probably should have been taken earlier right because there's a lot of there's a lot of points for just surviving and I think she'll survive very far and then she there's a lot of points for like you know quotable times and she probably won't win too many immunities but I think she's probably actually a decent pick for this late I just I just don't see her winning prove me wrong Angelina >> who do you think who do you think's going to carry the ladder for her this time to get the idol like who can she convince in this class to help her >> obviously Jonathan [laughter] won't even need a ladder she'll just chuck her Yeah.

1:40:32 >> Yeah. He'll just he'll be the human ladder pushing her up to get the idol. I think a few people are a bit annoyed by me taking this one. Saying that was our pick next. So now I feel better about the pick. and then Chris Frying Shade doesn't even know her name. I know. I'm terrible. Terrible. Like I've come into this way too casual. all right, Andre, you've got the next pick. >> Yeah, this one is my second last pick. Okay, this is a pretty difficult one. I'm tossing up between two players and they're both on the same season, so you can guess. >> yes, >> I will have to go with Kyle. And the only reason I'm going with Kyle, even though he's a higher pick, and I think that I again pe like, you know, past winners have won before, so it's very unlikely that he will win. But at the end of the day, Kyle was very good socially.

1:41:23 He was he played Joe like a fiddle. he demolished Camila at the end just because you know they both turned on each other and he was the one you know that which you haven't actually seen so apologies for you [laughter] >> but I mean clearly for me Kyle and Camila are Malcolm and Denise not as good as Malcolm and Denise but I think I'd prefer to choose and in this case Denise is Kyle and I think very similar type of players. in my opinion, like they navigated the game quite well. and then sort of talking about Kyle, I think that the only reason I didn't choose Camila, I think Camila has probably has a better chance of winning, >> but I think that Kyle is a better player in everything.

1:42:13 And the way that they sort of played that sort of like hidden alliance. It was very reminiscent of the Matt Rogers and David alliance in Australian Survivor where people didn't know they're >> if they can pull out something like that again not with Camila with someone else with somebody else in the car. I think that if you're if you're yeah if you're smart enough to do that I mean you're smart enough to win a game. so I think that I think that Kyle is a bit of a steal and I think I'm sort of getting a bit of a discount for him because he's a winner and he's very unlikely to win. But if he wasn't a winner, >> if he was somehow picked out at final four, I think that he would be >> he would be as high up there as D in my estimation or >> probably even an earlier pick than D to be honest. >> Yeah, I like from again I haven't seen the whole the whole season.

1:43:05 I saw where they were lying about their alliance and how they outplayed Joe's Alliance, specifically premerge and things like that. they both seem like really skillful players, so I'm surprised we have seen both of them coming back. And I really like Kyle so far. Like, I think he's physically very good. He's socially very good. he's probably going to have a really big threat level coming in having won so recently. But I don't think he's going anywhere in the early stages of the game unless they really do want to play that game of just saying let's get rid of the strong players that are that are winners and then you know we don't care about winning immunities. But in a tribe of six there's it actually in my mind protects stronger physical players because you don't want to cannibalize your own tribe by getting rid of some of these strong challenge performers so early in the game. So, I think it might give him a little bit of a meat shield. Like, he might be a little bit of a meat shield to some people and a challenge shield to some degree and you don't want to lose those people.

1:43:57 I don't This is where you should probably look at the tribe dynamic and it will tell you a bit of a story as to if they lose him, who's going to be the player that will take over that sort of physical >> I think I think he'll be a early victim for from Q. I think if there's any kryptonite here, I think it's going to be cue like the chaos there because Kyle's sort of person likes to sort of control sort of his orbit of you know of relationships. So yeah, super worried about that tribe just because of Q. But I think >> that's why Q is such a good casting. >> That's why Q's the perfect casting, right? Like we need to get him in there. okay. So, I think the next one that the audiences are agreeing on is Camila. I'm going to give you another minute or so just to or 30 seconds or so to change your mind if you want to go in a different direction, but it's looking like Camila is going to get picked here next on this next run.

1:44:48 In fact, let's do it because they do have two picks. So, I'm just going to go with Camila on this one. you just kind of spoke about Camila as well and I kind of have to lean on you more than myself because you saw the whole season of Camila. like from what I've seen so far, strategically very smart, not the greatest TV character potentially. Like she doesn't come across as very charismatic on the camera, but I'm assuming that the reason they picked her is because of that strategic game that she brings and they've got a lot of other big characters. >> Yeah, I think I'm trying I'm trying really hard to come up with sort of like an analogy on who she's like, what other past players she's like. I'm drawing a blank there because she's a pretty unique character, but she to me she really paid played second fiddle to Kyle. and you saw that at the end. You saw that when it was between the two of them, Kyle just exerted more influence there and was able to take out Camila.

1:45:45 And I mean maybe actually going back to the Malcolm Denise sort of analogy, I think that probably is he's she's she is actually quite similar to Malcolm in a way. I know that they're completely different demographics, but if you think about the way that they ended up playing out Malcolm was never like the strongest immunity you know player in the world. and Malcolm made a huge blunder in sort of being super open on targeting Denise. And the exact same thing happened, you know, just to further out the analogy. I mean, if Joe is a god forbid Mike Scubin, you know, without the stuff after Survivor, but it's like that's like Mike played a perfect Mike Scoopin role. So, I think that I mean I wouldn't mind having Malcolm on my team if he was playing this season, which by the way, where is he? [laughter] >> But I mean, >> where is he? He could have played in instead of Ozzy because he was the newer the midschool Ozzy to be honest and in my opinion >> play the different players right like Malcolm plays >> very strategically like she he's very similar to Camila that's true >> if you think about it.

1:46:47 Yeah. >> Yeah. Yeah. Pro Joe England is closer to like >> we don't want Joe back. [laughter] >> He's nice scooping I think. >> Yeah. People that we don't want to see. okay. So, Zudman, thank you. It's good to have you in the live again as well. so who's the next pick here for you guys? Chris is saying Emily. Willie is saying Mike. which way are you guys going to go for your final pick, which will leave two players on the board? I will automatically have the last person fall on me. So, I guess Andre, you'll have, you know, whatever they choose here, you're going to have a choice. don't ever say that name again. I won't. I won't. I won't. Andre instantly shutting down. I knew I liked him. [laughter] I don't I don't stay on top of stuff that happens outside of Survivor.

1:47:39 I'm really bad so I can get myself into trouble because I don't really I don't stay in like I know a lot of people always tell me like, "Oh, this person's doing that outside of the game." I don't know. Like I just look at them in the context of survivor and as a survivor to be honest. You don't want to see some of those photos. >> Oh, really? Okay. Yeah. We'll stay away from it. so Willy's going for Emily as well. So I think they're locking in Emily here. And to be honest with you, I thought there's a chance that she may have fallen to me at the end. but I wasn't sure which way you were going to go, Andre, if you had to choose between Aubry and Emily. And I won't let you Well, doesn't matter because I can't do anything at this point. But what do you think of the Emily choice? >> It's not a bad It's not a bad one at all because she's a bit of an unknown in a way. She did make it fairly far. She does seem to be early on she was a little bit too overt.

1:48:31 But then she overcompensated in my opinion by being a little bit too passive at the end. She was a little bit too reactive. which is good in a way because it means that she is reading the situation a lot better. and she has sort of like a very good David from it's like the story of David from Millennials versus Gen X in my opinion where sort of it starts off relatively weak and there's that growth arc. So, you know, I like the growth arc. I hated her at the start and then by the end I was kind of rooting for her but by the time she got voted off. I think that she has a good chance of going but we haven't really seen her much at the at the end game. But I have faith in her that she'll be able to if she gets herself into a good situation, she should be able to adapt to that situation quite well. And I think that's something that she does have. She has adaptability. so I actually don't mind this pick.

1:49:22 I'm actually surprised you didn't go a little bit further. I did consider picking her a few times earlier. yeah, I quite like this pick from the audience actually. >> Yeah, she's a really smart strategic player. the typical kind of new school player that comes in and played the new era, who's the super fan, goes out there, sees a lot of people as pawns that she can move in her game instead of realizing that everybody's playing her own game. And that's what she got found out for in her season in the early stages. But then she had that friend Caleb from memory. Is it Caleb? >> Right. The person she played in her who was Yeah. He kind of saved her in those early stages. And I think it's hard like it's hard for someone to change who they are in their core and how they react to playing a game like Survivor. And I don't know how she's going to go playing without him coming into this season and if she's going to find that person who's going to help her bridge that gap because he was a big part of her game.

1:50:17 So that's the only fear for why I didn't pick her sooner. But very similar to you, I had the same thing. Like I remember covering that season really not liking her in the early stages of that season. Like being like I just don't like I just can't watch her. Like it just wasn't my kind of player. I didn't like it. I don't and you know that's normally the sign of a good casting. If you feel one way or the other, you either like them, you don't like them, that means that they picked someone good because you're feeling something either positively or negatively towards this player. And similar to you, I had that whole moment when she sort of let us in a little bit into her backstory and her life outside of the game and things like that. And I was really rooting for her towards the end. I was really happy that she that she got as far as she did in that season. And I do think that she deserved the call back. So, I'm excited to see what she's going to do this season. She is one of the bigger characters. And while being a big character, she's also a good strategist. It's just can she find a way to socially fit in with these people?

1:51:10 That's my biggest question mark when it comes to her. so we've got Zudman asking, "Is this one for points or are we trying to draft the winner?" there's points involved. It's a very simplified points structure. We might just go over it very quickly again before we finish off the draft for those that dropped in quite late in the live, but you have the next pick here. And, you know, where you going to go? are you going to go for Mike White or Aubry? >> I'm gonna go for Mike White. Yeah. >> Okay. the well I guess I guess I don't know if we want to just let's talk about Mike White first, right? and then we can say why I didn't choose Aubry, I guess, because this is more of this actually more of like a >> Yeah. Yeah. Let's do the same. So I chose Mike. I don't think Mike will win. Mike is a good character. >> and also in terms of I don't need more Mike White to be honest.

1:52:04 I'm not I've watched White Lotus. I really don't care. was fine on The Amazing Race. and I'm not the biggest fan of the influence that he's had over Survivor, but I mean, I do like Mike. he's just I've had enough of him, even though we've only seen him for one season. I think I got it. It's like, yeah, funny. You know, drinking wine. I didn't see too much from him. so yeah, I just don't think he'll win just because he's too successful. there's kind of like don't really have it in the United States, but tall poppy syndrome where you kind of want to pull people down that are too successful. I think that is working against him. But apart from that, this is more of like I'd probably choose Mike over Aubry. and I guess we >> And before you get before you get into Aubry, I do think that I agree with you on a lot of the things.

1:52:57 Obviously, he's close friends with Jeff. he's had a lot of influence in how the direction that the game has gone in and we don't necessarily like some of that influence that some of Jeff's celebrity friends have had and we've got more and more of them coming in now to come and co-host the show or make appearances and things like that which we don't like the goofy nature of where the show is heading in. Right. but I do think taking all of that out of the equation, I do think you're undervaluing a little bit his strategic game of that season. I think he was strategically pretty on the money throughout that season. I don't think he's a bad strategist of Survivor. >> I mean, Nick beat him though, to be honest. >> Nick did beat him and deservedly so, but I also think that there was an element of people looking at him and saying, well, he doesn't need the money as much as Nick could do more with that money. So, I do think that >> he was never really going to win that final against Nick just based on that alone kind of >> Exactly.

1:53:53 And he was also he gave up. And I remember in that final tribal council him pretty much not fighting for it. Like his heart wasn't in it to beat Nick at the end. And I think that kind of like he had there was a world when where Mike White could have won if he owned his game. He talked about the strategic moves he made. There was just and again it's an edited show, right? So we don't know if he actually did that. And because he didn't win, they just showed us Nick's great pitch at the end and why he should be a worthy winner. I do think there's a world where Mike White could have won. I don't know if he's going to win this game. I don't think so. And I'm not like again, I think he's a good strategist. I just don't know. Like we got him instead of Rob C. >> That blows my mind. That blows my mind. And that is just I think it's the biggest the biggest loss of this season is not having Rob come back because Rob has always said he wasn't going to go play again.

1:54:44 He was open to coming back for season 50 because of how big of a season it was and more so than what Rob did in Amazon which he was one of the early great sort of strategists of the show. I know he came back in all stars he had absolutely no chance to win allstars but the fact that they snubbed him for this season after how much he's done for the Survivor community. I mean the reason you and I are doing podcast is because of him right and he kind of keeps a lot of the super fandom just ticking along outside of the game. like he deserves the call back for 50. So I look at it and I'm like that's Rob's spot. We didn't need to see Mike White come and play the game again. So I'm similar to you. I'm not high on him coming back and playing the game. He's snarky, could be funny. you know, he's a decent strategist, but again, like I just every time I'm looking at him, I'm looking at he took Rob spot. And that's my take on it. >> Yeah. >> And it's easy to be a good strategist when you have nothing really to lose, right?

1:55:36 If you have no fear on, you know, making a move and sort of needing the money, it's very easy to be like, I'm just gonna kind of free roll it. So, that's why I'm not like, yes, I do acknowledge he played a fairly decent strategic game, but I kind of detract from that just because of the placement that he was in and sort of like where he was in life as well. >> I do think that, you know, it will be a net benefit to have him on the season, but compared to Robinina, >> I mean, it's clear which one we both want, right? like >> yeah and I think the fans and again if this was truly a game >> meant for the fans in the hands of the fans give the fans what they want I think a lot of fans would have liked to have seen and maybe it is just because the super fan community or the ones that listen to podcasts are still quite so niche that it doesn't really but again I don't think Mike's got any real name recognition in the Survivor like people don't remember Mike from Survivor right so I don't think like him coming back will bring people back to watch Survivor at all.

1:56:35 >> Good enough for the traders. Like Rob was on the traders like he could have done he could have done this. >> Yeah, 100%. so Aubry obviously falling to me at the end there. and when I look at Aubry I think to myself like I remember her first season when she played. You mentioned Em like who was it person you mentioned that was Angelina that you mentioned was kind of like a Russell Hanss. I actually thought Aubry was like a Russell Hans the first time she played her season and strategically dominated in my mind. I know a lot of people up until this day will probably stand for Michelle Fitzgerald and say, "Yeah, clearly the better winner out of those two, but because the person who wins is always supposed to be the best." I think Aubry was a better player than her that season. I thought that was a season where she could have won or should have won, but the jury just didn't see it that way and I remember there being some hurt feelings around Aubry and things like that.

1:57:27 But she is one of those players that her legacy has just gone down and down every single time she's come back. Like her best game was her first game and for that point like it'll be good similar to like a Colby or some of the others to come back and maybe even an Ozzy who didn't have a last good showing. just come and Stephanie there's a there's a trend in my team now. I look at it as the redemption arc team. It' be interesting to see what she does but I just don't see a lot of upside for Aubry. I just don't know where she goes in this tribe, who she's got, who she's playing with. and I don't know. I just I'm not excited to see Aubry and I think that's probably why she's fallen so low on the draft here. What's your thoughts? >> Yeah. Yeah. I mean, I feel like her first season she got she did get a very unlucky and she did do well to play out of I think what Neil got evacuated and she was put into a very bad situation.

1:58:18 Then again like three or four people like was the three people were evacuated. so it's kind of like e I don't say it's e I feel like her path to the end was relatively easy compared to other seasons. That's the first thing that I was thinking of. >> I personally think that Michelle played a better game because at the end of the day this is a social game. Michelle played it well enough to get to the end and also socially enough to beat Aubry. So, I was never a big Aubry fan to begin. I know that Aubry has a ton of ton of fans and I see why they're fans of Aubry. It just she just didn't float my boat. and I feel like her last season, I know she was targeted. but I feel like she did historically bad as a returner in Edge of Edge of Extinction. but that was her last one.

1:59:10 Yeah. >> Q and Aubry in the same tribe. Are Q and Aubry in the same tribe? >> I think they are actually. I want to say they are. Let's see. [laughter] >> that would be >> hilarious. That would be hilarious. >> they are. >> That's perfect. That's perfect. Obviously Q calling out Aubry, voting someone out that reminded him of Aubry in the game. I can't wait to see that conversation on the beach between Q and Aubry and see how he handles it. But >> yeah, a little bit low on her. Like I think she's a great strategist. I definitely understand where you're coming from when you say Michelle did want it like deserved it as a social player. 100%. I just think that season for me I felt like Aubry had a lot more of the strategy and controlled a lot more the flow of the game. >> and I think that's negated by her second season where she just she didn't have any control or any power and it's like >> I think this is just a situational thing.

2:00:01 I think that Aubry pays her situations the way that she sees them and she like her being in control was just out of necessity at that stage and her not being in control was out of necessity at that stage. So, I feel like she goes sort of with the path of least resistance there. >> Yeah. Well, that's our drafts and you know, when we look at the three teams here, I think it's a it's a well stacked team. We're seeing some themes come up. I think I definitely tapped into the legacy picks a bit more than some of the others and supported Old School. So, I'm high on Old School coming in this season to hopefully bring us a better outcome than what we saw in Survivor 40. Andre, you had a few really strategic players here. You've got good social game players. I think out of the teams, it's like who's got the most balanced team? I like I would almost feel like you've got the more balanced team. You've got a little bit of each, you know, strategic, a little bit of social, >> the community.

2:00:55 >> The thing is I chose Q early, so [laughter] >> But it was a good pick because I probably would have gone Q earlier somewhere just because I like the characters. So I feel like >> you reacted to probably knowing that like there's no way like I would have let Q go completely because I wouldn't have known if he would come back to me. But yeah, overall I don't know like it's very tough. Normally I would ask the audience who's got the best team, but I feel like the audience would say they have the best team because they were part of this draft and I think it's going to make it interesting every week as we come back to talk about the episode to look through the points which to remind people that are logging in late. We've got a very simplified point structure here this season. Survive an episode, you get a point. Win immunity, you get three points. Find or play an advantage, you get three points. If you get voted out, minus five points. if you win the game.

2:01:46 10 bonus points if you go to the final tribal council, 30 points if you win. and then we've also got some optional fun chaos add-ons. so two points if you say something iconic, two points if you get caught lying, two points make a big move and the Greek group agrees life that it was a big move and then minus two if you have a meltdown. So Aubry not looking good could have that meltdown. Q >> Emily like there's a few people you could have that >> a lot of yeah messiness here. but overall that's the draft and I had a lot of fun doing this you know this is kind of this specific live was just to get rid of the cobwebs get back out here talk through the season you know that's coming up season 50 it's a it's a milestone season 25 years of the show I had to come back Andre I had to come and talk about this I'm very grateful that you've agreed to do this with me for the season as well and I think we're going to have a lot of fun with the audience this season and we're going to try and keep it as close as we can to this time same time slot every single week when we do the recap.

2:02:49 So, next week we'll be back at the same time. If anything changes, we will give you guys enough heads up time to know that it's going to be a change. sometimes if our schedule doesn't permit, we might have to do a pre-record session here or there, but we're going to try and be live as much as we can. Andre, any final thoughts from you before we get into the season? Anything you wanted to talk about prior to getting into the season? >> Yeah, no, I'm really excited about the season. no, we I think we've caught on to everything and let's just hope that Jeff doesn't ruin it. Let's be honest. >> Yes. Yes. like I'm excited to talk to you about the future of Survivor, what we think is going to happen. I know there's plenty of topics we can jump into. Even the fact that Jeff said that he might not do another return season for the next 10 seasons again or he's not really that worried about doing another one. I think I'm hoping that there's great fan reception to the season.

2:03:40 I'm hoping it brings back the viewers to this season where he looks at it and be like, "Ah, actually, we have to do another one in the next two to three years because I think a lot of people like myself who checked out is about to come back and watch again because of players returning and playing the game." I think we need returning seasons. I like the fact that we've got a theme season. It just gives a little bit more spice to the season as well. You know, it sets it up and that's what those are a couple of things that I don't want to compare the two shows to each other a lot, Australia and Survivor US. I don't want to go down that path, but I think Australian Survivor is still very much in that doing themes and it does create a certain hype and excitement around it. >> Yeah. I mean, I would have loved 49 to have been an all-star season for the new era and then have sort of the legacy makers for the for the last nine seasons to then be able to, you know, punch their tickets to get to 50.

2:04:32 We wouldn't have gotten 49, I guess. But, you know, maybe get rid of 48 and then bring the players from 49 up and then and then have sort of like an all out because I feel like there's just not enough representation for old to middle school. I feel like maybe a 33 sort of like middle school versus new school versus old school probably would have been better because we all know what happened with Rob C and Jerry and everything. that would have been my preference, but you know, I'm not going to be begging for things. I'm just going to be thankful for what we have because how long we been waiting for this for? 26 years. Let's go. >> Yeah, 100%. for those that have stuck with us the whole time, thank you so much. anybody new to the channel that have just sort of tuned in, if you do like this kind of content, subscribe, to the channel to let us know that you like it. Put a like on the video as well.

2:05:23 That we do appreciate it when you subscribe and like the video and it helps us get recognized in the algorithms which we've got to rebuild right now because this is the first time in a year that I've actually put something on this channel. But yeah, I've really had fun. Thank you everybody that was in the live. Willie, Chris, Sandy, who else did we have here? Zudman. I hope I'm not missing anyone. I know we had a few people jump in earlier that had to jump out, but you know, Angel Cake for jumping in as well. we really appreciate everybody being here. We're hoping that weekly you will jump in and also let us know about your thoughts on the episode, what you're thinking because I've always said Andre that the biggest power that the nullify take has and the thing that makes me want to come back and do this is really the people the fans who watch the show survivor who come in here and also take part in the conversation that we have each week.

2:06:14 >> It's been it's a pleasure and I'm looking forward to sort of covering the season. >> Awesome. Okay, so thanks guys. That's it. We'll catch you next week. Bye. >> Bye.
