Survivor 50 Winner LEAKED by the Edit? (Confessional Breakdown)

Clip · 21 Mar 2026 · 7 min

Summary

Chris and Andre use confessional counts to size up the Survivor 50 winner race. They cite a claim from a channel they call Once Upon an Island that every winner since season 41 had a confessional in every episode, then note Rick Devens, Jonathan and Cirie got none in the latest episode. Andre says an All-Stars season could break the pattern, so he would not count out Rick or Cirie, but he doubts Jonathan. They read out counts, with Christian on 29 and Ozzy on 25, and float Colby as an unexpected winner.

0:00 Talking about like this season, Survivor 50 one of the things that's quite interesting. I was listening to the Once Upon I think it's Once Upon an Island. What's the channel's name? Once Upon an Island, yeah, which is a big channel. I'm sure everybody's aware of them on YouTube. And he talked about the fact that since season 41 when Erica won there's not been a winner since season 41 that hasn't had at least a confessional every single episode. Because the backlash was so bad on Erica's win and people were like, who was she? What was her game? It was the worst season ever. People really sort of spanned production. It looks like it had an impact on the production team where they thought, hey, maybe it's a good idea to let people know who the winner is and for you to at least be a part of your journey from the first episode until the last episode so you know what's going on, right? So they made a conscious effort and obviously the episodes became longer after 41 as well, which would have helped as well with that, but taking that into consideration there was a lot of people in this season that still had confessionals every single episode, but that number drastically went down with people like Rick Devens, Jonathan and Cirie now added to the zero confessionals.

1:12 Do you think that it has an impact this season? you know, with obviously Rick Devens, big character, not getting a single we didn't check in with him this episode. We didn't check in with Cirie, probably the biggest shock of all of them. Yeah, I mean, that's an interesting stat. I hadn't known too much about that. It is one thing to note that yes, the pattern can sort of go through for eight seasons, but we haven't had an All-Stars season in that time. So if there's any time for that pattern to break, it would be an All-Stars season. So I wouldn't necessarily count out I wouldn't count out Rick Devens yet. I wouldn't count out Cirie yet. who else was who was the third one that >> Jonathan. Oh, Jonathan. I don't think Jonathan's winning. Like we haven't seen enough of Jonathan to be honest. And I feel like if we had if he's going to win, I feel like we would probably would have seen a little bit more of him.

2:02 Unfortunately, I like Jonathan, but I wish I wish we could see more of him. But he hasn't even he hasn't even gone to Tribal Council. These people haven't gone to Tribal Council. And I honestly I detest the idea that they always try to force the disaster tribe. And then there's just one tribe always goes to Tribal Council because they take away the flag. It's like just level the playing field each time or I don't know like game design-wise, please make the game a little bit more fair in my opinion. Maybe change up the immunity challenge a little bit more. Give people a little bit more food even if they lose or like let them keep the fire. Like I'm not interested in that. If they like honestly it would be a And this is an indictment. It'll probably be a better game if they just flipped the coin to see who won immunity, to be honest. Because then you don't have to worry too much about oh, you know, like you know, physical challenges. But that's just me because I want to see the strategy rather than see the challenges and seeing just a disaster tribe having it over and over again.

2:59 It was good once. It was good in the Philippines. I don't need to see it again. Yeah. Yeah, we want more balanced tribes. We want more balanced tribes. We want balance like otherwise you're just focusing on one tribe and you don't know the dynamics of the other tribe. You don't know what's going on when they go into the merge. I don't like steamrolls either. other players that have had zero confessionals this season is Tiffany. I think we can count her out. I don't see her winning. Like there's no story. We would have known four episodes ago. Yeah. >> She might get out by the women. >> Chrissy is another person that's had zero confessionals, but she's picked it up. It was episode two where she had no confessionals. Stephanie had no confessionals as well in episode two. Angelina, episode two had no confessionals. who else do we have? Kamilla, no confessionals at this stage. So I think a lot of those players probably they are kind of in no man's land at this stage. I would say out of them Chrissy and Stephanie probably has the stronger story arcs at this stage where at least we know what's going on in the game.

3:56 I think there's probably about half the cast are probably ruled out in terms of like an edgy point of view of being real And you kind of know who those are those people are and you kind of like for me I've got maybe like a top five of people that I think are probably going to win. And it's going to be And then there's like two or three maybes, you know, like a Coach is like a maybe, you know, or a Jonathan is like a maybe. Like I haven't I don't know. And he's probably out there actually. But then it's like then you've got like big characters like Ozzy. I can see Ozzy winning. That would actually be a really good sort of you know, Christian obviously is a high winner candidate. Genevieve, high winner candidate. maybe not I just feel like this season I just feel like this season is primed for someone to win it that we don't expect. Like I think Christian flying too high too fast will get his wings will get clipped at some stage.

4:50 Like >> Yeah. Like they're getting everything they can this season. Yeah. Yeah, they're getting everything they can out of him right now. Like he's the he's like the power player early in the season. And then if you look at Ozzy like Christian and Ozzy are by far like leading the confessionals. So Christian's got 29, Ozzy's got 25, right? And then the next player after that was a tie between Genevieve and Mike at 17. And Mike's already gone. Like so you know, he So that's that opens it up. And then you have to go all the way down to Rick Devens with 14 confessionals. Coach is sitting at 13, right? So there's such a big gap between those players, but again, it's because Christian and Ozzy has gone to every single Tribal Council. We've had to check in with them a lot and we've had to understand what they're thinking is and what's happening in those tribes. So an interesting one for me was like I've still got my eyes on Colby as well.

5:40 He just gets confessionals every single episode. Like even this episode there was like two throwaway confessionals about the show and his growth and how he looks at life and like I know Jeff and him are friends. Maybe that's why he's getting it, but it's confusing. Like why are we checking in with him every single episode? >> been relevant at all. Like relevant in the game at all. Like I mean you saw very strong content with him and Rizo. Like that was That seemed That seemed obviously they're going to put that in because that's like a legacy type of thing. >> Yeah. But it just seemed like if that was going to be the story of Colby this season and he ends up winning that is actually a pretty That might be the primer of like an unexpected winner that they're setting them up for. Cuz Colby actually goes pretty far each time he plays except for I guess Australia I sorry All-Stars. But like Heroes vs. Villains, he was like the last hero remaining.

6:31 He's not a bad player. He's good socially. Yeah, he's very he's actually a pretty good player. So this might be his opportunity to sort of show that and sort of like this is the legacy. I mean if it's going to be the legacy season, who better than Colby to win? I agree. I mean And if it's going to be the redemption season because the first time he played second place. >> Scott says Cirie. Cirie is probably I think Cirie would be the one that would be >> yeah, she would be the ultimate obviously. But yeah, interesting season. Love how it's being sort of how it's evolving at this stage. Let's see what people are saying here. Jay saying but Survivor 50 would be the perfect season to subvert our expectations since we would at least expect it with 50 and make it so that there is a winner with an episode where they didn't have any confessional. Especially
