02 Foreign [Music] [Music] foreign [Music] [Music] welcome back to the nullify Tech channel here on YouTube where we've got the TNT takes for you on The Amazing Race 34 that's right it's the finale episode and you're joined here by team footer cap hashtag for the cap we just decided that on the spot here Michelle my co-host is here and I'm Chris your host if you don't know by now and you've just stumbled across the channel we're back we're here to rant about everything that's amazing race
22 And non-amazing race Michelle how you doing I'm good I'll let the listeners know that I only put this on because you had Survivor cap on and I thought well I've got it from The Amazing Race cap gotta balance it out you know you've got all the Amazing Race knowledge I've got all the Survivor knowledge and I feel like Derek and claired all the big brother knowledge and they became the second Big Brother team I believe to win The Amazing Race is that a good omen for Big Brother teams do they just for some other reason do pretty well when they come over I know there's been some other teams with mixed results but also remember Victor and Nicole doing extremely well in the crossover season yeah look usually Big Brother teams are young and usually younger teams find it easier I don't know look from the first episode I thought Derek and Claire are gonna win mind you last week I put Emily and Molly in the winning spot I thought I'd put them forward but at no point did I think Luis and Michelle would win but you had them pegged they went down and they couldn't get up but yeah hey I had them picked for a very good reason Michelle they won three legs coming into this so I was surprised you were so low on the chances
42 To potentially win because I feel like they were peaking at the right time in the game they got better and better started from Team you know got bit as the race continued on but I think the big thing you know if I if I the more cynical side and the person who reads the edit if I had to look at that they didn't have a very big presence from the start of the show and that was always in the back of my head because with these shows you kind of want to have people have a big at least presence in the show throughout and I feel like Louie and Michelle they really picked up steam sort of mid-season onwards and the cameras then loved them and they had these big personalities and I'm sure they had those big personalities from episode one we just didn't see it yes I you know as I've said before I look at teams judge them basically from their photo their bio sometimes their little video they do and just those the two teams that I chose stood out more to me than Louisa Michelle am I saying it wrong I can't remember because the guy at work is Luis and I know it's not Luis is it's Lewis so it's not Lewis is it Lewis it's Lewis like everybody no that's my fault that's my fault for always hey quick question how do you think you pronounced my name in South Africa trick question really
03 Yes you don't pronounce it as Chris so you know how some people will say Louis and other people will say Lewis and it's just how you pronounce names in different countries in South Africa it can only be Chris can't it is pronounced as Chris oh but that's got just a rolling in R isn't it but it's no and it's also like a sharp k sound instead of the CH and it's like the South African pronunciation listen I don't care I'm one of those people who don't care about it we're off to a good spot I wouldn't be able to even call you we're off to a great start here but I want to say hello to everybody here in the live stream we've got lovable Nikki welcome back as always and a bunch of crying emojis I don't know if those are trying emojis based off sadness or tears of joy and happiness I know she was a big I believe Louis and Louis I'm gonna be missing it up for Michelle's phone as well eager welcome back saying I definitely thought would win because they had a finale party and a lot of Recaps I think okay I'm not sure who that was that you thought we wouldn't I thought Lewis would win because he had a lot of Recaps and a finale party I just think that I think that he had a great time on the race even when at the end of it you could just see this is what attracted me to them as a team I
24 Love people that have positivity it's why I love Glinda and lumumba It's All About The Vibes The Good Vibes Lulu and Lala had Good Vibes you know a lot of positivity from them and I could see that for Lewis and Michelle like they said this was a journey they wanted to go on the show to do their last hurray before they got kids and someone that does have kids I don't Michelle you've got kids you could probably relate to this that it becomes a little bit harder especially if you've got a newborn to go and do these crazy things well yeah you know what I had a baby at one point and I knew there were racing in the next month after I would be due and I thought don't think I can do it just logistically you can't do it when they're only a month old but you know what I did give it a think and yeah just things change once you've had kids and it's hard and you know I did tell my husband ages ago you know I need to do Europe before we have kids and then he said right are we ready to have a baby and I said have we done Europe he said no and I said well we're not having kids so then we went to do Europe so yeah it is something that you try and get something big out of the way before you decide to have them yeah IGA had a guess here and said Christopher and I tell you what that brings back bad memories because yeah because I
44 Remember my English no not even because I my name is just Chris it's not Christopher but I used to be called Christopher bobber English teacher all the time when I was in trouble so you know when she didn't say Chris and she said Christopher I knew okay I missed that this happened a lot now let's pretend like it didn't lovable Nicki says Lulu and Lala helped the finale party last season so again it's just the more social positive big personality sometimes I feel like even for the survivor shows that we watch there's always someone that ends up throwing the party or getting everybody together to do it like they're the social person that loves doing that are you normally the party planner Michelle when it comes to events and things I feel like you would be because you run this admin group for the Amazing Race I don't you see I like to watch the show if someone else arranges it then I'll go like I've been to a couple of finale or episode watches I find it really hard to arrange them because I don't know people who own bars and pubs and things I find it easier for someone else to do it and then the onus is off me because I already have a lot of stuff but in real life yes I am a party person every major birthday had a theme for about 10 years there every birthday I ever had theme I'm a big birthday person you have to do something for your birthday so
04 Yeah I did have a Survivor party many years ago and everyone came as a tribe you're put into two tribes you've got Buffs there was a big tent teepee I built out of palm fronds in the backyard which I dragged home from a park and my husband's just going what the hell there were games and people were trying to light people up with lighters and yeah the winner was the last person to leave the party so yeah they got a huge bottle of champagne yeah I chuckled while you were talking not because of what you were saying but because of Igor's comment he says I feel like you are going to referee Brazil versus Croatia today with that ref Alford love it yeah it's gonna be interesting I'm looking forward to the quarterfinals as well it should be exciting to see who gets to the finale but Michelle you know Dave definitely I think next season maybe we'll talk you know there's a high likelihood and I'd say it's about 95 sure I'm moving to Australia we spoke about that just very briefly beforehand so if that does happen then I think we'll have to at some point we'll have to do something for next season's Amazing Race in Australia I'm sure there'll be some people get together watch it you know so we'll talk about that when next season comes along but let's get into the finale of
24 This season this episode right started off with three teams in Nashville Tennessee what did you think of the location did you like this and were you aware that Nashville Tennessee was the house of country over in America yes I was aware I mean we have Keith Urban over here who actually traveled to Nashville to make his start well he had a start here but make his start in America I didn't know that it was such a happening place I'd like to know what day of the week they were there because it looked it was so lit up it was like Las Vegas or is it like that every night is it like Las Vegas every night and yeah I thought it was an interesting location because we haven't been there before and it's nice that isn't on the coast for once yeah and I love it because it gives you a little bit of it's Middle America right it gives you a little bit of that little bit of Middle America Vibe it's very different to the East and the West I don't know if I told you this but I lived in America for about nine months and a majority of that time was spent in Texas and whenever I tell people that they're like oh Texas you must have hated it and to be honest I didn't hate Texas was a great time like yeah there were certain people you get along with like anywhere else more than other people but in general
45 The vibe was very good people were very hospitable you know and I feel like we saw that with this Nashville location as well people were friendly they were all willing to help and give locations and things like that with their phone and I just really enjoyed the vibe but did give me that sort of you know country Vibe and do you like country music Michelle are you a fan of country music or not look I can cope with some of it not all of it because you know look I can do you know Shania Twain because it's country but it's sort of mainstream I can do Keith Urban because it's sort of what about a bit of Kenny Rogers yeah actually no Island's in the Stream yeah I love that and on the train Bound for nowhere what's that focus on God now you've got me now it's gonna drive me crazy not the real twangy stuff but yeah I don't mind it I love country but the thing is I'm a fan of Music in general like I love a lot of music I appreciate different genres and I think it would have been really cool but a lot of teams in this league ended up struggling with the musical challenges and I get that part of it because we'll talk about it as we go through it I think I could relate to Louie and Michelle where I'm like I can
05 Dance on the music I can have a good vibe and that and I can actually sing because I used to sing at school but I can't actually even though I used to sing I don't actually know notes or anything like that I wasn't like classically trained to play the piano for instance so I think that it was quite interesting to see how different people struggle with it and then you get to this finale and that becomes such a big thing it's two seasons in a row now where music has become a really big thing because Kim and Penn last season also had an advantage because they were musically inclined through some of the challenges so something for future amazing races to maybe take note off you know get better at picking up a musical instrument Michelle God yes you've gone to the finale really quick you've gone to the last 10 minutes no we won't talk about that yet but I just wanted to say we'll talk about that in the future but definitely get into that and also take lessons on how to swim because swimming has also now become a thing when it comes to the Amazing Race but they start off here at the beginning on the start line in Nashville it's capital of country music and they're in the city of Lynchburg I believe so it's not in Nashville Tennessee actually and they have to make their way to that in the city of Lynchburg they have to package Tennessee whiskey and they have these labels that they have to put on and then pass it on to their partner it seemed like the twins this was the best part
25 Of this whole episode attention to detail and they're very good at detail yeah and I can't believe you know Michelle's bottles they kept focusing on one particular bottle I'm not sure whether they kept showing it again and again because she could wouldn't have possibly done it that wrong every time I'm assuming she got better and was just a little bit wrong and so the woman just kept taking them off but I'm surprised they only had to do the neck part and not the actual front sticker also answer me this isn't Jack Daniels a bourbon or does Jack Daniels make a whiskey and a bourbon or in America is it called whiskey and here is called bourbon someone because I sort of you're asking the wrong person I'm so uncultured when it comes to my husband's correct Jack Daniels bourbon but they're calling it Whiskey I need I feel like they make both I feel like they make both bourbon and whiskey bourbon versus Jack Daniel's Bourbon and Jack Daniel's whiskey because okay here we go here we go here we go I've got yeah I've got it so it says bourbon is an American-made whiskey that must contain at least 51 corn in its mash and be aged a new charred Oak barrels whiskey can be made anywhere in the world though there are additional differences
45 Depending on the production and aging process so it's an American made whiskey so there you go okay dad only drank whiskey and then my husband only drank Bourbon and then I see Jack Daniel's whiskey I'm like okay mine is confused we're really confused here I was just shocked right and no shade it's a little bit of shade but I mean they've done the show and I'm not on there but how can they not get the labels straight on this deep into the show like that would be like maybe it's also my personality because I overthink everything and I would have been like no this needs to be perfectly straight and yeah you just see them putting it on crooked time after time and not picking up on it immediately I know Eric and Louis had to tell them but I think it was because it was moving at the same time as they were trying to put it on so that adds another extra dimension of you know trying to get things straight it looked like they were still moving as they were going so that would be harder unless they pull them off and did it so the first job I ever did when I came to New Zealand my I think I've told you this my dad's a boulder he's got a Building Company in South Africa I grew up with that like working with tools and all that kind of stuff so when I when I went to England I went into aluminum glazing and Fabrication and specifically aluminum
06 Working with aluminum and that and then when I came over to New Zealand those same skills that I that I learned in England was what basically got me resonance and how I got into the country here and I actually was in a factory working on these big aluminum and glazing panels that we used to put in and I was the quality supervisor because of the experience I had at the end they would have to check to make sure things aren't crooked and looking at the lights I feel like you know this reminded me of being back there where they had to go to the supervisor at the end to tell them this is straight this is not straight you're not allowed to go on so I feel like because of that you know this is the one thing I would have done good we'll talk about what I would have been terrible at because that's going to come on with the musical stuff I would have been good at this as well only because I am so pedantic with having things straight in my life in my classroom things have to be straight and I can usually tell if they're a millimeter out which most people can't see and they find me really annoying because I say well that's crooked but they can't see now I'm looking at the mirror in front of me and it is actually like a millimeter out you know what the worst thing is when I used to work in that industry I'd go like walk to different buildings and I'd look at the outside and be like that panel is not straight that you know you take that quality supervisor mentality with you everywhere so tiring but you can't get rid of it yeah
27 Christian gal also in the live hi Christian nice to have you here says Keith and Whitney from Survivor and amazing race is also from Nashville wish they made a cameo like the country singers yeah it was cool to see the country singers we'll talk about that in a bit and then lovable nikelster says Jack Daniels is not a bourbon here it's not made the same as bourbon okay thanks Nikki yeah it's good to know it's good to know I'm horrible when it comes to knowing different types of alcohols and stuff like I should have my brother on the podcast he'll be able to educate me on that a lot better they do get out of there Emily and Molly first followed by Derek and Claire and then last Michelle and Louis gets out of there even though they got the little labels wrong in the beginning they're only about five minutes behind Derek and Claire when they get out of there they then have to go find the Korean Veteran Memorial Bridge where their next clue is going to be and when they get there they find out that this is going to be the last roadblock of the Season what did you think of this roadblock look I love that the whole Bridge was colored in Amazing Race colors I liked that it was a physical one and it was a big physical one I because that can really sort teams out it
47 Doesn't make the whole finale linear so I love that and you know there was only a little sign to take the turn off and obviously Emily and Molly went past it so that also you know switches the lead if people don't see it which they didn't you know it was funny because Louie and Michelle didn't miss it yeah because Louis Michelle kept beating them to all of the activities and then the twins would beat them at the activity so they kept swapping behind Derek and Claire and it's those little mistakes they compound at the end of the day and then you've got you know a knee that's not working well having to run on that as much as they had to run this league and it just sort of all came together to make the twins make their final leg very difficult and they were kind of their Own Worst Enemy on a couple of these things that they were missing out on which we never saw in the beginning of the race they were so good at attention to detail they were good at navigating so it has to you know it has to come into question like you know does the race wear on You by the time you get to that finale leg it is just mentally fatigue the mental fatigue that is coming in with the injuries that are making you make mistakes where maybe if you were fresh and you were in leg one or two you wouldn't have made these mistakes yeah yep definitely it could come into play just depends how quickly people bounce back from each leg
08 But obviously you know having a sore knee doesn't make you bounce very well because you've always got the constant pain yeah so I love this roadblock one of the more visually appealing roadblocks I mean Derek wanted to be James Bond in the previous episode he definitely was James Bond here or Mission Impossible whichever one you choose but he climbed up this bridge you know and very quick you know sort of fashion he got up there no issues he also I think on his podcast someone made me aware I can't remember who that person was but someone messaged me to say Derek and clear on their podcast said that they on purpose saved Derek for the last two legs because they thought it may be more physical and he was the better one out of the two to do the physical stuff and it worked out a treat for them because he is able to get up there he sees that he's done some you know some things like this in the past and it's quite funny because he didn't mention the challenge but I saw him do something very similar having to abseil down a building on the challenge so again people may forget this is Derek's third reality TV show and he came into this trade off the challenge so he was sharp you know like he was yeah on the game because of the fact yeah and experiencing these kind of shows I think do count for something the big pressure moments where other
28 People are freaking out I think he's lost twice Claire's lost once you know so they feel a little bit more calm in the fact that they've the worst has already happened you know yeah their dreams have been dashed but they stay calm here and do extremely well Michelle and both I forgot it was Emily I think it was Emily that was on there we're gonna have that again but the twin that was on yeah on great so Emily and Michelle they both struggled to get up there Michelle especially because she had the wrong technique trying to physically climb up instead of using the rope climbing up and then there was that little bit of detail also that Michelle missed at the top where she just needed to get the pick out of the Qatar box to be able to go to the next one and she waited for Emily to go down first before she went down where they lost a little bit more time so a lot of those small mistakes but I thought Louis was extremely you know supportive throughout this episode even the places where Michelle was making mistakes you know it was a team sport between them and I don't think even if she would have got that and come straight down she it still wouldn't have made them win at the end because they basically went straight to the next place they didn't really have a problem getting to the next place so bringing that into account they still wouldn't have won but yeah he was so nice to her very nice
49 IGo here says this roadblock rides me off the roadblock an Amazing Race Canada a Premiere that had stairs this didn't did you watch The Amazing Race Canada eight do you know what he's talking about I have yeah I've watched yeah all of them they don't leave Canada anymore I find it so frustrating but yeah I still watch it because it's erased now doing logistically that roadblock it is a scary thing to actually get someone to go up that bridge because you don't know how strong the wind's going to be you'd have to check the weather way in advance like logistically to get it because it was 350 feet in the air and for someone who's not afraid of heights that's all good I do think when you get to the top it would be pretty intimidating and again if there's like a slight bit of wind I know with the Auckland bridge over here they closed the Auckland bridge at times I would have closed it if it was windy because at one point I thought wow how long is the let the little leash that they've got because if they fell off the side are they going to like hit their head on the steel pylons I was wondering how much give they had and I was trying to see but I couldn't see because at one point you know Emily says I don't want to look over but I still did because you can see the GoPro on her head she did this and I'm like another good
09 Idea why are you looking over if you don't want to look over not a good idea whatsoever when you're like halfway up there but can you imagine some like having a panic attack or a freak out in the middle of that how difficult it would be to get them off that bridge when they're in the middle of it but that's why they sign the waivers before they go out there you know it's like just in case something does go wrong you're there oh no Amazing Grace is not going to be held accountable but luckily they all got out of it safely yeah look at it I had to even sign a waiver just to have a snake put on me you know they get you the same waivers for anything yeah I the snake thing you know my feelings about that like that just freaks me out to begin with when you tell me that but let's say they're about five minutes behind when they when they get out there so again they're all within five minutes of each other they're constantly racing together as they go through this they have to drive to the next checkpoint which is the Gibson garage and they talk to locals and how to get there Derek and clear they get there first and they have to get the different instruments me calling it instruments with the guitars going around on the roof so cool God I want to go there and I'm assuming it's like somewhere where you can get dinner or drinks or something I'm a little bit gutted we didn't see a performance when they got in there you know because I feel like a good little
29 Bit of country music would have been cool to see when they went in there the country singers were there but how good would you have been knowing the differences between an acoustic guitar and an electric guitar and all these different things you would have been sweet yeah what's your musical background have you played some instruments I'm sure we know I haven't okay my mother was an opera singer and she also she sang on the stage she also when we owned pubs here she used to be the entertainment on a Sunday so I grew up with a lot of music around me we used to go to musicals I played the piano I did music for my HSC which is my fine the final exams in Australia wow so in my year 12 I did piano and I did music and yeah and I was in lots of choirs and I've sung at the Sydney Opera House yeah so I've never done some stuff you've done some stuff like I feel like any musical challenge we've just determined you're taking that off my hands and handling that business especially like I said I've definitely I've been in a choir of some of you know I've sung before but the thing that I don't like I'm not classically trained I don't like you give me a sheet I don't know I can only listen to the note and then hit it that's I do it off by ear because I didn't grow up
49 With it because my background was I used to love doing acting and performance and stuff and then I got to my second last year in high school and they're like oh you've got a good voice do you want to do this leading role in a musical and I was like I can't sing and they're like no you're okay you can sing quite intimidating but maybe a story saying you can sing and they want you as the lead vocalist you can sing it was on Moulin Rouge so we did Moulin Rouge no way yes I had you and McGregor's role back then so and he is so much respect for you McGregor I've got so much respect for you and McGregor a lot of people don't know how good of a singer is but his notes when he sings how he goes between his lowers you know the lowest notes you can go on to the highest it is like instant and it was very challenging in a Range yeah he's got a crazy range yeah playing his song in my head now yeah especially that one the slow one he does with Nicole when he's looking at Nicole and he's singing on that roof yeah Chris welcome to the live says Louis had to be joking when he said he didn't know the difference between acoustic and electric and leveling saying we don't allow Louis slander over here I think there's a lot of I think there's a lot of people who honestly don't know and I think I've never they've never had that exposure to musical instruments like I'm not surprised and
10 Like he said he just loves vibing to it being on the music and that I can relate in some ways I would have known the difference between an acoustic and an electrical though so I don't know how to defend you daily but you know I think you handled it pretty well because he did end up getting he probably just noticed there was two different types of guitars and then they ended up you know you know how they said they're really heavy it must be the cases that were heavy because guitars in general aren't that heavy you know especially acoustic guitars they're quite yeah quite light so I'm thinking the cases must have been really Hefty cases yeah well they got a re like I wish people like they had like fitbits or something on them because they seem to be running a lot and yeah right when they started it was like when they started it was Pitch Black when they ended so I feel like they ran all over Nashville and it looked intense but they do have to go and find these people and they have to run I forgot the Street's name but it's the Main Street in Nashville where everybody goes and has a good time you know in New Zealand you've got that in Wellington it's you know there's a there's a street everybody is down that street it's like a strip where people can go out and have a good time it looked like that and everybody was game and helping them as they were going through there really cool scene and again it just showed you that vibrancy I think that this was a really good advertisement
30 For Nashville because I now feel like I want to go see Nashville I want to go out yeah and have a good time and listen to some country out there you know well definitely you'd have to you can't get away from it I mean it would be on everywhere you wouldn't be able to get anything else yeah so Chris says instrument cases are very heavy they need to be heavy to protect the instruments on the inside which makes sense they have to be padded because my girls have guitars and they have the fabric cases so they have to be really careful when they carry them so that they don't you know hurt the instrument inside they've never had the hard cases and I know some of the girls at school at my school if they've got a particularly double bass or a cello some of them actually have wheels on the bottom of the cases because they're only little in it helps them with them so yeah I can imagine some of them are heavy yeah so after this they have to move on to Municipal towers for the next stop they don't really get the name of it they have to again ask some locals to help and search for this place that they have to go to and this is where when they get there's a full-on orchestra playing they're playing the theme I thought it was so cool so cool they were playing my ringtone is it actually your ringtone yeah how do I make my
50 Ringtone play without me ringing my phone will we get copyright strike for that are we allowed to play that's right I don't care hopefully not but it's a ringtone and do people know like how many people actually know what that is or is it like you're like kind of Niche secret that I know what that is from no I've actually said it on The Amazing Race pages that I have it as my ringtone and I'm actually that kind of a sorry kind of person I ring my daughter to tell her to ring me now hang on this is a an exclusive you are live right now could you please ring my phone so that they can hear the Amazing Race ringtone thanks bye very important she's literally in the Next Room yeah so Kayla made her debut appearance here we go let's see this is going to be interesting I want to hear this now where did you get why isn't my volume playing like my volume is totally gone look amongst yourselves yeah oh my god well we got a little bit of great information from this I didn't know who the composer of this was or the person who created the song John Keane back in 2001
11 A little bit of history and it's been with the Amazing Race from the start so I thought it was really cool to go in there and see this and then they have to oh my God she texts me at the same time as ringing me so then it turned itself off oh no oh no this is why we never do these things live I tell you what next time you'd give me the audio file and we'll play it we'll actually play it on here I'll add the audio file and we can use the soundboard for it do it again oh my God she's just off here okay now it's stopped I heard the first video yeah I hit the first bit yeah I heard so annoying I don't understand why [Music] I love it when someone Rings me does it like brighten your whole day when you hear the ringtones how did you okay here's a big question for you've tried you've tried to get onto the show a few times now have
31 You told them that the Amazing Race ringtone is your ringtone like I feel like based on that alone you should be getting onto the show I think I have but it only goes to one person like one interviewer and it doesn't look a party hats but from Nikki thank you it doesn't go to anybody else so literally maybe one person learns of the fact but not like the executive producers I'm not like anybody else that they don't understand how insane I am but yeah Edgar and lovable Nikki both love the ringtone I feel like we need to like start a petition to get you onto this show I feel like it's gonna have to happen so we're gonna have to like make this happen because if you've got the ringtone I don't I'm the biggest Survivor fan like you can tell with all the Buffs here I don't have anything from Survival on my ringtone at all you know so you know what when I had my Survivor party I sent back then it was the CD I sent for the CD of the soundtracks that when people arrived the voices were playing you know when they arrived so and then during the party when the challenge was on I had like challenge music on and stuff like that so yeah I yeah I should have like GIF props remixed onto my phone when I'm in the gym there's like survivors ready it's time to
51 Dig deep like all of us like saying imagine that going in the in the gym don't give up you just keep pushing through push through the pain but listen we're completely off track here but they're fine so long that's fine they loved it they loved it the piano challenge what did you think of it like the way that they did this loved it of course thinking of big and Tom Hanks and that movie as soon as I saw them run down there I'm listening to the music thinking and I'm thinking is it best to try and work out the notes are first which is what I probably try to do without looking for the you know the actual pictures and how did Lewis forget to look at The Black Keys when he knows music and I'm like what you're just looking at the whites and then he finally realizes but it's so late so down the track I was surprised Emily and Molly didn't get it earlier not trying to type cast but I know they both played instruments so you'd think they would have got it quicker than what they did but then it didn't seem like that the notes they were playing were the actual Theme notes because they were up and down quite a bit
12 Yeah lovable Nikki says here that she noticed pretty early on that Louis Michelle were not using the Black Keys IGA says either black and yellow section because I love the clue that's my crazy The Amazing Race thing wasn't they like a song that long ago was like black and yellow black and yellow it should have brought that onto the Amazing Race completely off topic but every time I see black and yellow I think of The Amazing Race I was once driving somewhere and I saw a black and yellow tent in someone's backyard of course I stopped by the side of the road took a photo of it and then put it on some fan group and I thought yeah I've totally you know lost the plot here I'm taking photos of black and yellow things yeah I love it both Chris says The Amazing Race loves casting internet slips tell them that you're internet famous with a very esteemed podcast that'll get you on I feel like you know this is the second time now that we've done the podcast hopefully the more we do it you get an opportunity to do it or we've got to jump on that amazing race fan page and start a petition for you to get on it I feel like we need to show to come back on and actually be casting first yes so we're talking about Chris we're talking about the Amazing Race Australia opposed to the U.S like I mean sure Michelle would go in a heartbeat if she could in the USB but
32 I think the U.S teasing C's enough over the years they let Canadian people in but that's right they had last year they had that girl that was in a relationship with a guy and they were on a live show together and I'm pretty sure she was she didn't have an American passport she was yeah that's why she couldn't come back Canadian I don't know no she wasn't Canadian she was from somewhere else I forgot I forgot where like yeah but she was born in America but then I think she had a different passport or something like that hang on I don't think Amazing Race is like Canadians and I'm thinking of Survivor survivors let Canadians in you're right Cairo that's where she was from right okay so and she was on the show so maybe they're like they can make these exceptions who knows I mean I've never understood it off topic right but we're so far off topic now I've never understood how the challenge can bring in international players from different countries and they say ah listen we'll get people from Australia we get people from the UK we'll get people from Nigeria you know it doesn't matter where you're from we'll get them on the show and then Survivor and The Amazing Race in these different other reality TV shows they say oh no we can't do it we can't have non-americans on the show and again I'm not saying this is an American show so
52 It has to appeal to the American audience I'm not saying have completely people from other countries but if there is like an exceptional casting choice that is Australian like for instance think about like a Luke Toki or a David Goodman as a team on there why not give them a shot why not bring a team from abroad in I love that the challenge does it in any case yeah so do I gives everyone a chance so I really enjoyed this I thought it was a very clever Twist on the memory challenge because everybody knows that a memory challenge is coming right and because of that I think that you know the fact that they had to have rhythm get these different notes in the right order to play the song about in 11 seconds fast to do how many pictures were there they were like either 11 or so they basically had to hit each note 11 seconds for every note on a second so it's not easy that was difficult I thought that was very difficult yeah it was it was and I love how they brought a musical challenge into somewhere like Nashville because it's a very musical Place yeah and having the pictures there as well and also the keyboard
13 Was so wide that yeah it gave issues in them having to get certain notes at the same at the right time but if you don't know music sometimes it's really hard you know to see where a c is to see where the Black Keys delineate where C begins again you know it's really easy for me but for a person who doesn't know keyboard really tricky yeah I think it was really tricky and obviously Derek had played into his hands he's played the piano before he even knew the names of the different notes so he could memorize that with whatever sequencer they were having to do it and even though he knew that it still took them a long time because everybody caught up you know you had all three teams there at the end which is always the best finale when you don't know who's going to get out there first who's going to get it right but Derek and clear they do end up getting it and they have to go to the Ryman where it's like a theater that they have to go and win the money ad listen a little bit anticlimactic for me being in a theater I like seeing it when they're out in the open and yeah I get that this is because of where they're at but I felt like they did so many Musical theme things already that why did they just give us run to a place somewhere you know and have to run in at the end that was a little bit anticlimactic for me but Derek and Claire they're the winners of
33 The Amazing Race 34 you know hats off to them I was I was a big Derek and Claire fan as well I didn't want to push them too much because I knew they had fans coming into the show because of the fact that they were on big brother but I always enjoy similar to how I enjoyed Cody and Jessica win their season I enjoy seeing people I enjoy seeing people who struggled on their season and couldn't get the money come back and then come back and win it on a season when they get Redemption and I like the Redemption act for both Derek and Claire coming here and winning the money they basically both take home I think big brother is now 750 000 for the winner it used to be five hundred thousand dollars so they almost both you know got the same amount of money out of this that they would have gotten if they were to win Big Brother so I'm happy for them they're a lovable couple they've got great banter great personality what did you think of the fake proposal she knew it wasn't happening because she said she packed the bag so you know and it's very scary to take something big around the world with you unless it was just like a fake thing just for the for the show but yeah the I think it was funny because she knew it wasn't going to happen and he just played it up because I just thought no he's not gonna do that now even though it Split Second I
53 Thought I loved it I loved it's so cheeky because so many people have done it at the end of a reality TV show and it's so tongue-in-cheek but luckily Claire took a you know like a good stride he knows that she can take a joke they've got a great I've in great relationship they get along really well like they said they just started dating before doing this show so you know maybe a couple of months eight nine months prior to doing the show they got together and then they had to learn how to work together is there better preparation for married life than having to go through a stressful situation like The Amazing Race different people work together I don't know if there is no there is a it's a very good God like jump in the deep end of a swimming pool sink or swim sort of thing definitely God yeah Cindy says hi to both of us hi Sandy welcome back and since I joined right when Chris said Cody and Jessica and like Michelle my action is no thanks sir yes no people don't like them I don't know why really I'm not on did they do anything I didn't watch big brother so I don't know what they were like on Big Brother but I'm just taking it on what they were like during the show oh they were very competitive yeah what they no I don't mind competitive I'm fine with that it was what he was saying just didn't like what
13 They said a lot of the time and you know you can say oh it's the edit but you've got to physically say these things for them to be in the edit look I can't remember actual quotes but I just remember they just rubbed me up the wrong way and I know on the groups of fan groups gosh they were not like we had to moderate them really well this was prior to the spicy cough that happened in the last couple of years so it was bright I don't know if I'm even allowed to talk about that on YouTube I feel like things are okay now you can talk about stuff anywhere but you never know so yeah I mean that's fair that's fair I'm definitely not gonna like go down the rabbit hole or say I'll fight God but I just didn't have the same they're not my favorite team but I didn't have to dislike you know I was pretty neutral on it and they were bullied pretty badly in the Big Brother house so because of that I was quite happy to see them get a win outside of it but yeah Derek and Clay they win this season is that a satisfying outcome for you we get the twins coming in second we get Louie and Michelle coming in and third are no lovable Nikki she's crushed by that I like all three of these teams to be honest yeah I like all three I thought
34 Emily and Molly to win even though I thought Derek and Claire would you know the huge pause I had at the end of last week trying to give you a team name was because I was so torn between those two yeah and I gave Emily and Molly because I really wanted them to win but I'm happy Derek and Claire won you know nothing against them and if Louis and Michelle would have won I've been fine as well but yeah they're good teams yeah no I listen I liked all of the teams I thought it was a very competitive season with different teams winning at different times it definitely wasn't a runaway I found it a lot harder I feel like Derek and Claire's edit this season was well done because I did not see them winning this throughout the show I wasn't even sure coming into the finale if they were going to win when normally I can read the edit I knew Kim and pin was winning last season I've been pretty good at reading those edits but I feel like whatever the editors did this season keep doing it because you did a good job some people maybe got less airtime than others but that's always going to happen it comes down to your personality and it comes down to how much you give the producers to work with and I feel like you know if they wanted to this could have been the Derek and Clay show because they're so charismatic both of them yes so they didn't go overboard with that Chris saying Cody is
54 Not very inclusive person I wasn't aware of that like I said I mean if there's anything that he's done online that's why I asked there's something on social my thing is I'm very casual when it comes to the social side because you can get lost in the source when it comes to social media I know Michelle is a lot more Captain than me and then Edgar says we're talking about two different codies Cody C has only been on the show it's in peacock that doesn't mean okay it's in peacock yeah okay I get I get I get who they're talking about they're talking about Cody Kelly of Kelly of Fury which he's never he's never done the Amazing Race but he's a Big Brother winner he's a Big Brother winner one I don't want to spoil which way in case people want to watch it because he's played more than once but he is Cody calafuri is on a peacock show called traitors us so he's oh my God it's three's on that show I have to watch that show oh my God three yeah I love three yes sir he's back Sorry's back so I mean it's gonna be fun and the problem with Traders I know it's a completely different show but when is that starting is that like in a week or two from now I feel like it's like everything's dropping the UK one has dropped three apps or is it four I'm not sure I have to watch
14 It now that I'm on holidays I can watch the UK one and then the US one is a starting yeah I've got to watch all of that before Australian Survivor starts because then I don't have a life yeah while we've got you in the Life everybody in the live typhoon who do you want to see come back from this season let us know if you could choose one team to come back who would the live audience want to see come back for another season and while they're thinking about it and they're typing it in there Michelle out of everybody that played this season who do you think should come back and represent the Amazing Race three four Emily Molly that's your that was your team from the beginning and that is the team that you're gonna go by no no I thought Derek and Claire would always win they were my team first episode that I thought would win but Emily Molly came in second episode and I for me they really stood out and I love them both equally and I just need Emily and Molly to come back lovable Nikki no surprises team Louie and Michelle Sandy the twins odds and I want Louis Michelle and Abby and will Abby and will had a very tough go at it you know the way that they went out and then Chris also said I would love Emily and Molly back with no knee injury listen all good teams all good teams I love yeah all of them I'm gonna shout out Marcus and Michael I enjoyed them this season
36 Actually I had so many good teams Glenda La Mumba I mean I love them as well so it's just it was a good season it was a good cast maybe no villains on the season do we need villains on these shows Michelle that you miss not having a villain team that you could shout against look it was easier to moderate a group when there isn't a villain but then there was a lot of people disappointed that there wasn't a villain because they liked to complain about somebody I think it adds spice I don't think it hurts a show but I was okay that there wasn't one so I'm okay either way I think if it was just like this season every season then I would miss a villain but I don't think I need a villain every season yeah I think it's something to do with the way that they cast over in The Amazing Race as well you don't see many villains come on the show and at least not villains that are self-conscious that they're being a villain you know that those are the most fun ones I think the ones that are like I know I'm being a bit devious here I know I'm being a little bit Evil by doing XYZ but I also feel like they've kind of changed the rules in The Amazing Race in the sense but you can't really sabotage other teams too much so it normally comes down to people just having a really bad personality that's
56 Why they're becoming the wrong thing that they shouldn't say like you know like Paul and Steve Amazing Race Australia too like Paul is just a ticking time bomb with everything he says and it's like wow they let that through back then in 2000 and when did they do it very different times the culture was very different back then and well yeah like seriously even when you look at all even when you look at old survivor there's like some fan favorite survivors that you look back at it now and you cringe at some of the things they said because it was just so different and certain awareness wasn't out there as much as it is now it's I think it's a lot harder to be on reality TV today than what it was back in the 2000s and oh yeah for good and for bad but it's just people have to go into like reality TV now thinking well I could be doing real damage to myself and my personal brand outside of this just by saying the wrong thing at the wrong time or being misinterpreted or just being a bad person so if you're a bad person model of the story don't go on to reality TV at the moment I would love to be a villain on a show like this but I would like to be one where I'm like devious and trying to sabotage or you know that's why I think the mold would be amazing you know or like the Traders was fun because you could sabotage the mole you can track you can sabotage throw
16 People off by you know throwing a challenge or stuff like that you know it's like innocent let's see what other comments are coming in here Sandy's saying I hope they give Abby and wool and the three teams that are dropped out from season 33 a second chance that could be a great season the Second Chance season for some of those teams that just didn't get to finish it go also says Survivor big brother have villains it was a nice break from negativity yeah I agree negativity isn't always fun and I think that for Michelle being a moderator or an admin on a forum that's horrible like I mean I bet you this sometimes you almost can't sleep because you've got a moderate all the time oh my gosh you wake up and there's so many moderator alerts and it's like well my God what's happened overnight yeah it's hard so Christian you're asking hey Chris can you do toughest Nails next year episode coverage on January 4th please so does it start January 4th is that what you're saying it does you're away okay yeah well let me think about how I logistically fit things in we're coming up to a point now where we've got one less show that we're covering the challenges sort of going away I'm sort of considering Traders as well which I'm also hearing is starting in January so I'll see what I can do I wish I had more time like continue to subscribe by the way like you know the bigger this channel gets maybe the more and more I can spend doing podcasts
37 Opposed to doing a nine of five and I can you know get Michelle onto this as well the problem that I have is having a nine to five and then also doing these shows that we love but I'll consider it I've heard good things about tougher snails I would be going into it as a newbie I've never watched it before though what should I expect from tough as Nails because obviously full Cogan is in there as well Michelle look it's a good show it's real Grassroots show you know people who you know work with their hands as their job and they're very toughs they're basically tough as Nails these people they you know they've had a tough time in their life maybe and you know their soul to the Earth kinds of people and they're just trying to get by and that you know even if they're voted out they've still not voted out even if they get out because it's something they've not done right they still have to help their team so they're still in the show so they don't you don't suddenly see them just leave they actually and actually help the team is for like the person that sits there and says you're fired almost like The Apprentice if they don't do it well or you're out yeah not fire same thing it's the softer way of telling them you're gone
58 Yeah well I guess that's sort of the end of the season Michelle it's been a great fun season to talk about we'll be back hopefully next year again to talk about season 35 I know that's a thing they've just stopped filming right Michelle 35 I thought you were talking about Australian Survivor they just they finished Australia did they finish yeah they have finished 35. I think 35 has just stopped filming I saw it somewhere yeah it has it has sorry yes it has yes and there are also narrow in the process of recruiting for 36 it sounds like both 35 and 36 will be all newbies as far as I'm aware maybe with one team that they'll push in there from a big brother show or something like that they always love to do that but it sounds like most of it's going to be new so looking forward to that looking forward to talking about that as it comes up here next year like I said we might talk about what we can do next year for a live event that could be exciting depending on if I'm already based somewhere closer at that time but if you got to the end of this thank you to everybody in the live stream it's been so great to chat with all of you throughout this season we'll definitely be back I'll have a look at tough as Nails and maybe Traders see if I can take some more content on over the next year which is going to be pretty busy if you like the content like I said earlier please consider subscribing we hope we earned that subscription today considering liking the video and commenting below to let us know what you thought about it if you're watching
18 This at a later stage and like always see you next time bye
