00 Hello everyone I thought I would jump on and do another short video on the challenge episode 18 I just called up on episode 18 this morning before work and I wanted to get my thoughts out there firstly the finale of The Challenge 40 being in two parts love the fact that they're doing that clearly there was a lot going on in this first episode that if we had it in one episode we wouldn't have been able to see how people performed and we've had it before in the past where finales felt disjointed and you could tell certain parts of finales were taken out to actually make it fit into an episode so really love the fact that they split it over two episodes L the fact that it was a heavy waterbased final like with so much swimming involved I would have hated doing a finale like this I'm self-aware enough to know I probably wouldn't have performed much better than kyin did and it really is bad for him that he's had such a good season where he's competed with Jordan head to-head but then they go into a finale and it's just not something that sits within a skill set but for me that's one of the reasons I really love the challenge I love the fact that they keep innovating they keep they've got certain amounts of puzzles and things like that but they don't rotate the same
20 Exact puzzle season in and season out like they do on Survivor or there's like very little changes to a format of a season on Survivor the challenge keeps things fresh and by doing a finale like this where it's so water heavy you can tell that a lot of the contestants were caught off guard it clearly plays into the favor of Jordan's a beast regardless like all round but you know when he's that much better than everybody else at swimming and this kind of plays into his skill set it does become quite a one-sided Affair this episode and I don't know if anybody can catch Jordan even if he gets low Karma votes let's talk a little about Karma votes actually it's one of the things that stands out for me at this point I love the fact that your social game matters and I love the fact that you know depending on how you do throughout the season and how you treat people it can come back to affect your game at the end now that is as far as the like and love about all this kote stuff goes for me because there is still a problem for me when the producers don't make it clear to at least us the audience how Karma votes are going to affect the finalists in this game so I understand maybe they wanted to keep it for a suspense and not tell us the viewers how it's going to play out but we're at the end of the season now so I think starting
41 The finale and having a clear explanation to us the audience on how it's going to work would take away any potential controversy when it comes to the end of the season because to me and again I don't like having a tinfoil hat on I really don't like going down that direction but it's really hard for me to say that or to even like believe that the producers won't influence the final result if they're not transparent on how it's going to work I don't know if that makes sense so I'm a little bit worried about the fact that we still don't know how Karma votes are going to work and how much of an effect it's going to have in the finale because we've seen how things have played out now in this first day and especially with the women I think there is a big potential for things to be manipulated in a way that production may want it to go if you look at the men Jordan's clearly you know so far ahead of everybody else because he's had I think what is it now four checkpoints in a row that he's finished first so there's not much room I feel like for them to do something on a Jordan win but when it comes to the women you've had Jenny Finish First for a couple you've had Michelle finish first and I forgot who the other person is who finished first and the other ones but maybe there's a little bit more of a way that they can manipulate that because even like second third and fourth place have changed quite a lot so
01 When there's something like $400,000 at stake in a finale I think that you should be transparent about things like this because there's a lot of money up for grabs and I think even second place gets like 75,000 or it's like a share of $75,000 so that's a lot of money and I wouldn't want K votes to have that big of an impact I would have rather have had K votes be something like you get a Time penalty or something like that but it still comes down to your ability to perform in a finale to actually see if you're going to win the season let me know in the comments section what your thoughts are on Karm votes to me it just seems like there is still so much for us to learn and hopefully they make it clear to us in the beginning of the next episode and it's not something that at the end comes from left field and suddenly it actually affects the placement or whoever's going to win this season as far as the performances from different people on this finale I was obviously very impressed by Jordan once again showing us why he is I think pound-for-pound the best Challenger out there right now and I mean he's proving it he's going up against bananas who has won quite a few of these and he's smoking him he's smoking every single person out there he's in a league of his own banan still good enough to finish I think the day in second place getting quite a few second place finishers and pacing himself throughout the episode
21 As well so obviously someone who's done a lot of finals knows that it's going to go over more than one day and I think of bananas's case he's probably hoping that this finale is going to be like some finales that we've seen in the past where you know whatever you do in the first day almost doesn't matter because it gives you like a Time advantage or something very small going into a final race where the final leg is actually that's going to determine who wins I hope it's not the case this season I really hope that every single one of these legs for our both days actually plays into who's going to win the season but with the challenge sometimes they let themselves down by doing something like that where they'll be like great the first day doesn't really count for that much it just gives you an advantage going into a final leg and then it almost defeats the purpose of pushing too hard in the first day if that final leg is a massive run and you know the challenge always has runs like distance runs and things like that maybe because of the island location they' they've changed that cuz I don't know if they can run that far on the Philippine islands where they're at but you know this one's got a lot more swimming in it so I'm really interested to see how the final day is going to play out and if the first day is actually going to count for much heading into the end so all of that will obviously be revealed other people who've done well Jenny did extremely well we spoke a lot about her asthma we spoke a lot about her gasing out when it comes to endurance challenges and things like
41 That but so far she is doing really well on the first day and then U Michelle as well who would have known like that Michelle somebody who a lot of people thought would be a layup coming into the final would be probably around second place at the moment with the finishes that she's had she's done extremely well to also keep up and obviously being a good swimmer has helped her in this finale day two may be very different because it may not be as swim heavy as it has been so far and that's going to really tell us where she's at and then Tori's been surprising she's struggled I don't know how much of an effect that's had on her being out on the water competing with Kara Maria for as long as she did the night before maybe that has had an effect on her ability to perform going into the finale and I've been surprised by that Rachel is getting a lot of content so for me again not knowing how this is going to play out I'm just wondering why is Rachel still getting so much content if she's not going to be in it at the end and she's someone that I'm afraid of when it comes to the karma points like will it potentially benefit Rachel because she's not doing well in the finals she's not actually on Merit winning the season at this stage but she's well liked by the challenge community and I don't think anybody who left the game would have given her low Karma points so there's a big chance
02 That she's someone that can go from last place or second to last place to second to First based on Karma points of production really wanted that to play out but overall I think the person who's been struggling the most is obviously kyland it's not been a great finale for him seeing him cramp up and going through all sorts of pain I do want to say hats off to him for not quitting and keeping at it saying he hasn't quit a day in his life so it's great to see him fight through all of that pain that he's going through so this is just not his final but kylin's going to be a beast in the future he's going to be tough to beat clearly now you can see him competing this season staying up with someone like Jordan who I don't think will be on the challenge roster in the future because if he does win the season like you said he may be able to go fulltime and actually put all of his effort into becoming a race car driver so I just have this feeling that someone like kyin will go up immediately as soon as bananas falls out Derek's not the youngest either so I don't know how many seasons he's going to do in the future but if he does come back I'll be happy for him he's proven himself this season as a competitor I just think kin longterm has got a lot of room to grow and if he works on his swimming he's going to be tough to beat because he's pretty decent in most things when it comes to the challenge so potentially the best Big Brother player outside of Casey
22 And Amber who's one to come over to the challenge so yeah so that was all very exciting let's have a quick look at how the episode ended we ended up on this final leg where they had to do the overnight portion I love the overnight portion of the challenge whenever they have to fight against sleep and then go into the next day and perform this really is the thing I think that sets the Pretenders from the real challenge Champions apart it sets them apart because you mentally have to stay in the game someone like Jenny who had a really big first day and I've been hard on Jenny a couple of times on the podcast saying that she's not that entertaining to me but this I think this episode shows why she should continue to come back in the future she is just an out andout Beast she's a competitor there's a couple of things she does need to work on obviously when it comes to her endurance but and maybe the fact that you can see her breaking down at the end of this day when they go into the nighttime portion of the game shows that she may have not paced herself appropriately but you can't argue against the body of work of her first day she pushes through the pain she pushes through any kind of endurance issues that she has and she's a decent swimmer as well I think this day proved that she can definitely keep up when it comes to that so but it was
42 Definitely heartbreaking to see her break down at the end and go a little bit Delirious almost by the end of the day I love the whole thing that they put together with them having to count coins which is such a tedious thing to do when you're tired it may look to us the viewers watching this that it would be the simplest of things to do and then they have to go out every 30 minutes or so to go and sing a song which had me laughing so many times I just love how they put this thing together for the final sort of checkpoint but yeah let me know in the comment section what checkpoint did you like the most who do you think is in the best position to win it right now for me 100% would be for the men Jordan you can't go against his full body of work after the first day and then when it comes to the woman like I said it's open race I would like to back Jenny and Michelle shout out to Michelle for just having a good really good first day I'd like to see one of those two when because they weren't necessarily the two people that I would have thought would be in the lead after the first I would have thought Tori with how well she's done this season would be out in the front leading the charge and then Rachel has had such a big edit this whole season that I would have thought she would have done better as well so but yeah I think Jenny or Michelle for me I'd love to see one of them win but I do think Michelle when they move away from the
02 Swimming portion of the finale and if they do go into more landbased challenges could fall behind like so far the swimming has really played out in her favor but let me know what your thoughts were on this episode did you like it what did you dislike how do you think the karma points are going to come into play and I'll catch you guys on the next update when Kahuna and myself will talk about the season as a whole and ALS so the finale and how everything plays out but for now if you do like this content you want to see me just jump on do a little bit more content like this in the future please hit the like put subscribe on it and I'll catch you guys next time bye
