1:21 Down everything that has happened within the first five episodes we'll be talking a little bit about our feelings of the season if we're liking it or not and guess what I have not spoken to Chantelle and angel cake about this season at all I don't know the attacks they don't I don't think they know my takes they may no my takes but you know I'm really excited to get into it this is going to be a little bit different it's going to be a little bit less structured it's going to be a little bit more us engaging with you the audience the people who love the show as much as us and bringing up comments and just talking about things in general angel cakes should tell Angel cake how you doing YouTube I think you might you might be muted Drew your mic I was I was jamming out to the beginning intro song because I haven't heard it well I heard it last week but I do want to say that I have a bone to pick with Chris here oh here we go you're originally supposed to do this last week and I have a feeling that Chris knew what was going on in the fantasy game and wanted to wait one more week where I was in third place and I was now in the bottom so I get it I see what you're doing Mind Games I get it yeah I'm I'm sort of I'm sort of channeling into the Mastermind

2:41 Wish for the draft you know and I'm trying to like maybe not before should tell how you doing I'm so pumped to be here I you know I've been doing some weekly Power Rankings with angel cake over here and it's been super fun and a lot of people got really excited when they heard that the trial was gonna be back together so I'm really happy to chit chat have a little chin wag and hear about your thoughts of this season so far and generally each week I try to stump Drew with a little game of some sort so I put together something to stop you well you both can participate together but you just have not had to be tested before by me okay I feel like I might be in a bit of trouble I don't know if I like these surprises being thrown on me last minute but you know we'll participate one of the other things I wanted to say is that this will not be the only time that the trial will be to give it to talk about the challenge we have decided that all three of our channels it's only fair all three of us will get one live stream with all three of us this season and the next one will be on reality realness which I think is going to be around episode eight episode nine around their facility and then we'll do a final season review on the angel cake entertainment Channel as well so you guys will

5:21 Into the game what's your general feeling about the season so far I love it for the most part besides having so many Cliffhangers dagnabbit but I do really enjoy the drama that is being kicked up by the MVPs making the BET sweat especially this past week's episode and I want to see what the pressure is going to do with everybody moving forward because it's last week's episode really stirred up a lot of drama and then we were left on a cliffhanger and maybe for good reason but to me I just want to know the results now and we could have been getting the Cliffhanger of what everybody's thought is moving back to the challenge house and how and speculate what's going to happen there but overall I really enjoy the season even the people that I was questioning what why they were here like Grant has been a kind of really good in the gameplay and winning daily challenges and it's just really good it's far as far gone past my expectations of this I think it's always good Chantal coming into a season such as this with low expectations being like I don't know if it's going to work of these worlds can Collide and give us a great season and then being pleasantly surprised in the process but what's your thoughts about it so far well what I have to say like the engagement is

6:41 Way more from my perspective for this season you know definitely people love the challenge seven people watch you know any videos that I put out but the commenting and like the back and forth has been so much more than it has been in the past and I think that has to do with the fact that these MVPs are not just allowing the Vets to just run the show and let them do whatever they want and as much as I love the beds I love them I've been watching them grow up like they're my people I want to see them have these shake-ups I want to see them have an opponent I want to see someone that's going to be like hey you're not gonna tell me what to do I'm gonna play my own game and so it's really fun just seeing people not being afraid of like next season and the lions for next season and they're just willing to like no I'm playing right now I want to put myself in the best position I think possible to win this game and it's been really fun to watch and I think the people whether they like what's happening or not they're still engaged yeah zuderman he's saying I'm glad I went in having these low expectations I'm thinking of certain players automatically aligning a few people here saying that they hate the Cliffhanger the first Cliffhanger wasn't bad however it is beginning to be annoying I think Kahuna had a really interesting you know Coda my co-host for this season he had a really interesting

8:02 Perspective on that we saw a little bit Amber getting sick in this specific challenge he said maybe that there's a reason they have the Cliffhanger because if they have the elimination in the beginning of the episode and we do end up losing maybe Amber because we know she's pregnant in the next episode maybe that's the reason they did it this way but I do agree it's like we're five episodes in and we've had two cliffhangas it's a it feels a little bit off but before we get too much into that I just wanted to give my general thoughts I'm loving this I am living for this season because you guys know I'm a newer School fan I respect the Vets I love the ogs I've got my favorites I mean West being in trouble my heart is beating really fast right now because he was my first pick in the draft for the season but like Danny may just have become my favorite player this season I mean my first draft pick yeah what a what a pick what a player like for him to stand his ground under the immense pressure that all of these vets were putting on him I just take my hat off to him and any season any show that Danny plays in now I am a Danny troofer I will fight for Denny as hard as anyone else like up until this point Danny for me was like great casting he was good but he was like it was just like consistent now he's like he's come out of that consistency Shadow and he's now a Bonafide Superstar yeah he's making a name for himself absolutely and you know you could tell like a lot of people some

9:22 People are really for his move and some people are really against his moves but like I am so for them because nobody everybody's so afraid of these people and he's not and I love just like the zero fear and no like he just wants to make a move make waves put himself in the best position possible and I'm so enjoying him becoming a new player in the game Drew and I were talking earlier about the fact that like Jordan was that kind of vibe where he gave no absence he's going in he's saying like bananas who would flip those skulls and he wouldn't even care if he went out which he did like this is the energy that we're getting from Danny right now and I'm loving it because it's like he just wants to go in and do something and not be told what to do and it's really fun and it's exciting to see these people have an opponent so I put contrast Danny the contrast between Danny and Ben coming into the season right I know Ben was the last pick for me or he was in the last round but you guys know I've defended Ben in the past but I was like Ben what are you doing you're just like any of the other rookies you're just falling in line with the vets and their plans like it's good for his prospects of coming back to the main show because I have this theory that the production team wants to have people there that don't rock the boat they want people there that will help the Vets get to the end again and I think that will probably mean Ben

10:42 Is more of a sure thing to come and go over to the main show because he's willing to play ball with them but what I think the production team is missing angel cake and what we've been missing is fans for a while now is that there hasn't been anybody that has been willing to upset the apple card like the Vets are too scared of TJ like they don't want to get TJ mad they don't want TJ to make a decision we can't have that's like the worst thing that can happen if DJ makes a decision for the Vets but Danny doesn't give a single if yeah no way and I mean I think there has been some players that have come into the game that would like to stir some stuff up kind of like Michaela but when it comes into a certain aspect of the game where majority of the players that come in are either rookies that are very young or coming from an international background who have no idea what show they signed up for or coming in being like I'm just gonna listen to CT or any of the vets and do whatever they say that gets it hard for players like Michaela or Corey or anybody else that wants to start some traction against the Vets to actually gain any momentum because they have the Logan's they have their manuals they have the Emmys who are just willing to lay down and do whatever the Vets say that then at the end of the game they get ran over and thrown into elimination so yeah

12:03 The light let's say Christmas finally turning on bean welcome to the light listen I think being outside of the game is probably a nice guy but what is he doing this season like he's coming in with numbers these people have never betrayed him Sarah and him like I mean he was willing this is what frustrated me two seasons ago he was willing to give up two million dollars for Sarah and now he doesn't have it back for 500k it makes no sense to me Chantel I mean I don't know what's going on with but I think he I think he realizes that he's probably not gonna win so maybe he's just like I'm gonna have fun while doing it maybe I actually want to know both your guys's opinions what were they Whispering about in the deliberation because they'd already given their vote in what were the Whispers all about yeah it was confusing to be honest I'm not too sure I think they were trying to figure out a way of what the votes were and maybe trying to figure out like is there a way that we can like speak up to try to get somebody to change their vote and that's why they threw like Amber and Troy's name out there being like well you said this about them and that was never just gonna work so yeah I think that's what it was I think that was their thought process of trying to figure out like yeah what are the votes because at the end even Tori was talking to Danny being like this is where we're at this

13:23 Is the Tie we can nip this in the bud or we can go on like this so yeah well before Danny canopies I love that we have a new pool of players so many of them will work well into the Regular Show I also like the fact that they are not all 20 something loving their 30s and 40s is now the normal I do think that a lot of the audience a lot of the fan base has grown up with the show so it kind of hits still the mark for people like ourselves to still want to watch the show because these people that we can relate to but one of theories I had and myself and Kahuna we did do our pre-recorded recap for this episode yesterday and this will come out on that as well I said I wonder how many of these players will actually make it over Chantal to the main show because does the producers really want people that will upset the apple card because I feel like they've been recruiting and keeping people out of the show that will go against the likes of a bananas against the likes of a CT against the likes of their vets that they want to get to the end of the show every single time and I think they're protecting them it was for me it was so much fun to see bananas pout yeah be like come on guys it's not it's only a game why are you not voting my way it was so fun [Laughter] it just popped into my head right now but I'm thinking that this

14:43 Is a trial run for the producers I think that they want to see what how the audience reacts to having people that are willing to go against the vets and so I think that's why they're bringing them into seeing okay so let's see what happens when we bring them into Global okay now we're going to bring them into USA season two let's see what happens when they have people that are willing to that they're coming from a competitive background that are still rookies but they're willing to play ball and so I think they're testing it on another Network where they don't have to they're not going to lose necessarily their main people and then they're gonna maybe they'll start bringing in some people and if they think it's gonna work and if they think that they're going to have the audience but yeah I'm thinking that right now that this these new versions are kind of a trial as to what may work or not work lovable Nicky is not claiming Tori as an OG fan Christina here says I'm convinced that the challenge is wasting their money with certain people's appearance fees because all they do is keep the status quo and they don't they make the season a slog to watch and that's interesting because you know there's a few people here I think that continue to protect certain players like I mean deralives and power and they leave us on the Cliffhanger but I kind of feel like it's not a cliffhanger because there's no way Darrell is going to throw Jordan down there because he needs to play with Jordan in a future season again and he's thinking about his

16:03 Return Season next season because that's that they have openly said on the show Tori has openly said to Danny we played this game together all the time we have to think about that and I think that I love seeing people come back but if that isn't an advertisement to have more rotation and a bigger pool of players to bring in every now and again than I think I don't know what else is angel cake yeah I think that well and that's the thing is like we grew up on or at least what people deemed the golden era was that the there was rivalries there was people willing to go down and fight a whole other side of the game you still have bananas hearkening the vet rule of keep all the Vets safe and throw all the rookies down and we'll get to each other later but that doesn't fly with us now because nobody wants to because there's so many rookies that come in every single season that when you get through everybody you're pretty much at the end of the game and it's kind of boring we want to see rivalries we want to see players stand up and want to compete and I think to chantelle's point this isn't just the best option of doing of putting new players onto the flagship show but this is like the best thing that they could want is people getting super invested into players that are

17:24 From different International shows and international places that they can bring onto the show but we have already established a connection we already established a liking to them like Zara and then disliking by the way like it's okay to dislike someone like I want to go into a show sometimes thinking what this guy is back on the show but good entertainment I'm not talking for Joss but I mean someone that will go up against the Apple card even if I want to see them fail like Paulie maybe bring fully back like I know I'll go there bring them back bring them back bring some drama because he's another person that's not afraid to go against the power structure so I want to see him either fail either win but at least I'm going to be entertained in the process if I had to choose between hermana like a josh I'm probably leading Paulie's way I said it yeah well Josh Rumor Has It spoiler alert for a second is that Josh is on USA too so and that could kill it by the way that could kill it because Josh is so ingrained with the current meta of how to play The Challenge and how to keep certain people safe and how to keep the game predictable and boring that he could take control of a season such as that because he's now a what five-time player going into the Challenge USA going up against maybe one-time players it's

18:44 Not going to be fair angel cake and they're going to be from Big Brother and so he's gonna be like oh my God it's gonna be so annoying I mean maybe it's gonna be amazing maybe who knows but I am gonna be my normal pessimistic self and say that usa2 I'm not very looking forward to because I wasn't a huge fan of the first go around and now we're bringing in MTV people to first of all why but anyways I really wish that they weren't because I mean that's what I liked about this CBS the original version is that they were getting to learn how to play the game and we're going to see people to see a format that we enjoy and these people that we recognize and know playing the game that we love and so it's nice and then now they come in as MVPs and then maybe pair them with these Legends again maybe like that's the format and we do this again but I don't like the fact that the MTV people are going to infiltrate how these new players play this game it's just it's just annoying because then it's just like training them how to be boring exactly give them a chance to flourish on their own look at what has happened now with the likes of Danny and Sarah coming over we haven't spoken much about Sarah has only got one gear and that is to be antagonistic in the way that she approaches the game she's not afraid to take people on she doesn't care to be the popular one and

20:04 That's why I'm a fan of Sarah because it is going to make for entertaining TV she's not going to go down without a fight yeah this season I don't know if I'm a Stan yet but I don't dislike Sarah at all you guys heard it here first clip it clip it everyone I do want to say that with MTV players and this is the last thing I'll say about the challenge usa2 if we want to get back to a world championship at some point but with MTV players being put onto the challenge usa2 it makes it feel more like a Champs versus Pros or Champs versus stars in my opinion than its own Standalone thing because for a lot of people these spin-offs were looked at as like a Proving Ground new players can be added to a challenge like game and maybe they'll play hard enough to get onto a world championship and maybe that will result into a flagship show and we can see their Journey from spin-offs into the main series whereas I don't know I just don't like the idea of like seven or eight MTV vets coming in and then having a really strong connection with each other bringing in more players it'll just make it feel like a chance versus stars in my opinion which doesn't make me excited at all no not at all and especially with the lineup that they have a we've just seen them for like two years straight and D like

21:25 I heard one of them it might be Zach and I'm like why what is happening what are they doing and so yeah Cody is not it as well I think I think Cody is a nice guy I think that if you if you hear him in his streams and how he is on Twitch and how he talks about I think he's just the super nice guy I think he'd be fun to hang around outside of a reality TV show is he gonna be compelling I don't know but like would it be compelling reality TV no I don't think so I think he would be boring if you had to choose between Paulie and Cody I think Cody is the better brother as like a human being but Paulie is the more entertaining messy brother for reality TV that's my take on the time I choose Angelina we just watched Cody on the Traders and I'll think anybody else could have played that like I've been on the show I didn't need to see him again so yeah I'm done with the if I'm gonna see another caliper you can clip this as well it would be Paulie I do not want to see Cody on the screen because pulley like listen I get it a lot of people don't like the guy at all but it's okay not to like someone to come to the show like I feel like we've been so afraid in recent times to have villains on the show people that

22:45 We can root against the way I'm missing someone who doesn't give an if that's gonna go out there they're gonna upset people because you're gonna tune in Chantelle to see Paulie either get his ass handed to him or finally winning one and you're gonna hate it but you're gonna talk about it and the more people who talk about the show the better it's gonna be absolutely years upon here years upon years about this current group of vets that keep on coming back the vacation Alliance plus some and I like I don't need to see them win again right like I need to see people go against them and if it's gonna If It's gotta be Paulie that does it then it's got to be Paulie that does it because I just want to see I don't want to see a one-sided game we don't go to any sporting event to see one team club or another team is just absolutely boring so I want to see people that are willing to go Toe to Toe with these vets and Paulie's one of them he is and I'm here for it a lot of people saying Devon I've seen her name a few times I wouldn't mind to see Davon back she said she's done but she was wasn't she this close to getting on the challenge 38 though right wasn't her partner gonna be Josh at one point and she said nah I think it was Derek F at one point and then it was oh that's what it was you're right you're right Derek if would make you say no let's be honest like

24:05 If you're like Derek if's the person you're gonna be attached to for the challenge no way it's like you'd be like no I'm out like I have a hot take a hot question so I believe that Derek F stated like he's giving Danny props about like how the fact that like he's coming for these vets or what are these Legends and I feel like he's doing it to make it seem like he's going to be one of these people that is going to go and get like are we on Derek F side here and want to see him go on to the challenge to see him go after the vets yeah but he's not going to win to get power like how is he gonna win a daily like I just don't see him like it's the challenge is too athletic you know and I just don't think he can while we're on the topic of the challenge so this is something that I've been mentioning a few times now on the podcast that we did with myself and Kahuna I am so impressed by The Challenge like obviously sometimes with safety rules and things like that they get it wrong they don't always dream team and test things beforehand but the challenges this season so far has been so much fun to watch and when you compare it to Survivor 44 where it's like a reiteration a regurgitation of the same type of challenges that we get every time how is the challenge

25:25 Still innovating they're like over 40 Seasons nearly 50 Seasons if you look at the offshoot seasons and we're still seeing new challenges that we have not seen before Chantel it's so entertaining to watch I mean I love the fact that they're being creative with their challenges but like I was like I produced a couple of like big brother weekends before and it's you can come up with challenges like you just like you're like okay what kind of challenge you're gonna be like you once you start brainstorming about challenges if you brainstorm one you can kind of brainstorm 10 variations and then you can like tweak and tweak everything I love that the fact that they're being Innovative and they're doing some new things because you know Survivor us right now it's just kind of recycling what they've been doing and I haven't seen something new and Innovative and so yeah I've been loving all the challenges they've done so far this season I thought the one this episode really cool with them swinging around I thought it was a little bit unbalanced with the fact that Sam was left-handed and someone's right-handed how that was working but other than that like I thought it was pretty cool like to be swinging around on those Contraptions and such a cool Challenge and who would have thought that would be Zara's weakness angel cake that she just couldn't get the timing right on those ring tosses because she's been doing extremely well up until this point and have actually outshone in certain ways up until

26:45 This point I mean it was the hindrance of both her and Wes I mean they both kind of flopped in this past week's daily challenge I mean it was rough I did hear from someone in the comments so remember they said that Zara said on the podcast that she was able to get 25 rings to West and West was only able to land two of them so who was who dropped the ball or the ring there sorry Drew no I think it's a fair assessment but I just think that both players just did not provide well enough I mean Ben and Casey also did not provide well it sounded like Ben got the Rings to Casey and she just couldn't get it in the bin either so yeah it was rough but I really enjoyed this daily challenge I mean we did a tier-based ranking system in one of the bakery after hours live streams on patreon and for the challenge 38 there was quite a few daily challenges that were pretty high up or mid-level and not so many were super flaps if I can remember so I mean it is rather impressive that they can put together so many challenges especially for a 22 episode season and then doing all these Seasons back to back to back to back to back is rather impressive feat now some hit

28:05 Some Miss but luckily this one was a real hit because we were left on a cliffhanger if it was if it was a flop this Cliffhanger would hit harder I think for everybody else yeah I think the one that really impressed me was that first challenge where they had to run over the Sand Dune go down grab these heavy chains pull them up and the further they pulled the chains the easier the puzzle were was for them to figure out and running on Sand having done that before would have been so tough but you know who impressed me we haven't spoken about him yet is Theo he was country miles ahead of the rest of them when they had to run for that like I was really impressed with how he can move and Theo has looked impressive he's been a little bit tame from an entertainment standpoint so far but I think from next week onwards we might see a bit of a rival reforming between him and Danny which might be very interesting because they showed in the future clips of what's gonna happen Danny and him are going to have some words so we haven't seen the spicy side of Theo yet but we do know that it exists I know I can't wait I mean I love both Theo Danny so I don't want them to be fighting arrival season are they playing for future Seasons that would be so good then you stole people on Twitter that he's not because people were coming from on Twitter and

29:26 They were saying Danny how dare you go against the Jordan it's a bad move you're not going to get a future call up and he's like well you guys are thinking that I want a future caller like I mean this guy has achieved everything like why like I mean it'd be awesome for them to come back and I hope he does but this guy has played in the NFL like the challenge and he got a paycheck already like that like you don't want to go back in and earn some more money for your family but like he doesn't need to prove anything anymore and so yeah I think he I think he will get the call if he wants to go back like if he wants to go he's there I do not see them be like you know what you might have brought too much entertainment to the show we're gonna we're gonna pass we're gonna take we're gonna bring Casey back instead yeah and we're gonna pass on you Danny yeah you're just too entertaining and it's such a turnaround on this previous game because the previous game was I'll sit back on the until the end when I need to make my move but this time he's playing a lot more aggressive because he doesn't have shields in front of him like Tyson who's taking a lot of the bullets so he's got to think about it like if you're Danny you don't want to run against Jordan Wes or bananas in the final those guys will beat you with well maybe beat you with experience you want to have an easy air out by going up against other MVPs who only had one final maybe up until this point behind their belt I mean Grant hasn't even run a final yet he doesn't even know what he's getting himself into you so

30:47 That's the easier route for sure but let's talk a little bit about Theo still because I've moved on from Theo I know there's a lot of people who want us to talk about Theo how good is it to see Theo back finally on the arena it's finally see him back in the channel well I wish we were seeing more of him so like you're saying like it looks like maybe he's going to have a little more visibility next episode onward I want to see more of Theo because I think he's actually like very funny and like he wants to play He's Not Afraid kind of like hour 11 Danny's not afraid to go to its own neither is Theo he's ready to go down into elimination he's ready to run a final like he's just he's just such a good personality and character to have on the show so I want to see more from him right now so I can't wait yeah and angel cake I've spotted Theo having slight Digs at waste the whole time out there we know him and Wes went to the final together they've got this Frenemy rivalry type of thing going on there I have heard him give quite a lot of Digs at West and sort of poking the bear a few times out on the show as well yeah I think this I think the reason why we haven't seen too much of Theo is one there's a lot of personalities that are kind of overshadowing him mainly Danny and Sarah wanting to get numbers as well as put their own strategy out there and I think Theo is using this maybe as

32:07 A way to dip his toes back into the challenge realm kind of get it back into a rhythm of doing these challenges being in these high octane situations being in the house as well as I don't know how much he's been talking to his old castmates through his time of apart from the show but maybe he's thinking about coming back to the flagship show and he's using this as a way to maybe get some social standing with bananas Tori Jordan and get that kind of Rhythm back into his game to where if he if and when he comes back to the flagship show he'll already have those relationships established again and then he can just like hit the ground running during that time whereas he just wants to take it kind of Jill he does have Cavs in the game so maybe he's also wanting to let her do her thing and kind of navigate what they're doing on the show as well so I think he may just want to lay low and just kind of let the game come to him and he is partnered up with Sarah who is doing the most at the moment trying to do everything so I don't think he has to worry about that if the less he knows what Sarah is doing probably the better it is around with the Vets like I don't know what she's doing she can do whatever she wants I'm over here talking to bananas and Wes all the time or something like that now I do want to ask you guys there's one MVP we haven't spoken about was

33:27 A few of them but there's one that I definitely want to bring up I had the biggest reaction from both of you when I picked Kiki off the bat and I said this girl's got hot this girl I saw something in her and the challenge Australia that made me a believer that because I'm always impressed by those players where when I pre-judged him coming into a season and I'm like she's the pretty girl she's the Betsy girl she's not gonna be a contender and then she absolutely freaking gives me that right hook you know like she spoke about in this last episode in the challenge Australia and I have been all in on KiKi like I'm still all in on KiKi right now Chantel can you see what I saw in Kiki coming into the draft now a little bit can you see the fight no I mean I actually really like hiki on her season but I was more I liked Emily on that season so I just automatically preferred Emily but now that we're seeing them in this particular game I'm 100 all in on nikiki and I'm not a fan of Emily in this format so it just really was circumstantial I always thought she was a great competitor I always thought that she was great I just particularly liked Emily Moore coming into the season I think Kiki is great I love her and Darrell being in a partnership together such a cool partnership the whole time with dorella's like it and he's like oh sorry I sweated
