00 Welcome back to the nullify Tech channel here on YouTube where I've got the TNT takes for you on Australian Survivor Heroes vs villains episode 20 that's right I'm back so let's get straight into the top five takes here for this episode it was an extremely straightforward episode to be honest with you because we all knew that George has been running this game he's now gotten rid of his biggest adversary in this game towards the end game and that's Hayley someone that he felt like he needed to get rid of ASAP because she was coming after him in the game and I do think at this point maybe strategically she's the only person that could have been someone that could have been a rival term in this game but getting into takeaway number one we see a little bit here that Simon's game is really in a bad place and he knows it he talks about the fact that maybe having a non-strategy is his strategy in the game and that is something that he could pitch to The Jury at the end I don't know how the jury will receive such a pitch if he actually does get there but he's been doing something right in between doing everything wrong because he's still in the game on day 40 41 and he's won some key immunities having four individual immunities to his name at this stage in the game you've got to say one thing about Simon you know like I've talked about him a lot on this top five takes and it's probably because he's been the biggest player outside of George and that rivalry between
20 Him and George has been fun to watch throughout the season to see who's gonna get on top of the other but I think George has been winning that for a very long time in the game and Simon has just been hanging on by a thread but I really do admire his fight the fact that he's not giving up you know you can say what you want about him trying to go to Jerry going to Matt trying to have these conversations about being pawns being Lambs led to the slaughter as soon as they get to the end they're not going to have anything to pitch to The Jury but he's got to try something right he can't go out without giving it a good hot crack so I actually am really enjoying Simon not leaving anything out on the table he is playing like he's never going to return to the game again which I think hot take here maybe not so hot take Simon is a lock to come back for a future season and I would love to see what his game is going to look like if he's ever to play the game again because I think his biggest weakness of the season was that he got locked in on George so early on and he never really showed a flexibility to go and move with the one takes him outside of that George Target takeaway number two we have to bring up Matt's journey in the game we finally get a couple of confessionals from him this episode he's been very quiet you know sometimes we kind of forget that Matt is playing this game and he breaks down and is in
40 Tears because Simon called him someone that is a bit of a goat in the game or a bit of a lamb being led to the slaughter and he says it's very hard when somebody says that to think that about your game because he's out there playing for I don't know if it's his wife or his partner they've got a kid on the way you know you know we finally get to see his motivation and normally if we see this type of scene early in the season I would say keep an eye on Matt he potentially could be a winner this season but we are seeing this way too late for me right now to think that Matt's still winning this game listen stranger things have happened in Survivor believe me we've had winners come out of nowhere and win the season but I just don't see Matt being the person who's gonna win it from here on out and I think this is just for us to fuel some sort of empathy towards Matt because he's not making a move in the game and I remember writing down on my notes when I saw him crying it's like why are you crying you're still a player in this game you can still make a move right now I think the problem here is Jerry is so locked in with George and he's a man of his word if he's given his word he's not going to move and he doesn't want to cut George I think Jerry will cut him but I don't think he wants to cut him at this point in the game and that makes Matt's moves very difficult as well but Matt knows that he's been on the outs for that vote against Haley he wasn't trusted so it does let him know that he's potentially in a
00 Very bad spot in this game right now and we do see throughout this episode he's open to making a move the problem is the numbers have dwindled to such a degree that there is no one that he can make a move with he's waited too long and I do think sadly if Matt gets to the end he's a zero vote finalist maybe the only person he can beat at the end is Jerry but I don't even know if he could beat Jerry because I feel like Jerry's had a more impressive game than that you know at least he's burned that right-hand person to George for a long period in the game and he's someone that has even though he doesn't really bring much from a strategy point of view you know he had the Stevie vote where it was his decision and he's been talking to George about strategy throughout the game so I think Maddie at this point is probably the person with the least amount of chance to actually win this season takeaway number three I called it a bit earlier in the season but George wants to be the middle vote going into the end game he lets us know he's got two alliances one side of it is going to be Liz and Nina and the other side is going to be Jerry and Matt and he can choose which way he wants to go in the game he's got that day spa lines and he's got his I don't know what they call the other lines that they created on the Heroes tribe when they were there but it's interesting because you know the way that the game shapes here in this episode is that he doesn't fully know if he can trust Nina and having that flexibility to know he can
20 Still work with Jerry and Matt really gives him options in this game and Liz is someone that he continues to pull closer and closer back into The Fold someone that he's feeling comfortable and familiar with she was a part of that spy school to lines from the start and we see it even here at Tribal Council where it's pretty live that he's got that very strong connection with Liz we can still pull the strings and get her to vote the way that he wants to go in this game but George is in a lot of trouble at this point you know he does look pretty to get into potentially a final three final four situation but like he says in this episode his game is so elevated above the wrist like clearly people are starting to notice they go to the end and Simon is continuing to put that pressure on he might not be the king's Slayer but he might put pressure on someone else to become the king Slayer by saying things like if George gets to the end he wins his game has been the most impressive you know that is something that people need to think about five hundred thousand dollars is a lot of money going into the in-game and I think George is going to find it hard I still think George is losing this game because he needs to win challenges and I don't think he can win challenges moving it to the end and if he does lose it we will have to look back at this and say it's because George did not know how to manage his Threat Level in the game he wanted to be the showman he wanted to be in the front he wanted to be this bombastic player
40 And there is consequences for being that player in the game I love watching it but the consequences are you're probably going to get cut as you go into the in-game here people are not going to give you an opportunity to put your case to the jury all right we have a good old-fashioned showdown in the immunity challenge it is one that is of endurance as we get into takeaway number four here they have to stand on these wooden pegs with their feet Bay feet and hold on to an idol it is an endurance challenge that Simon hates to do because Simon is not the best at doing endurance challenges and even goes in there with a bit of a defeatist attitude saying it's probably not going to be my day but he did give it a good red hot crack out there he ends up being the third last person falling off and losing his footing as he's trying to stretch his legs out which makes it a showdown between the two allies Matt and Jerry in the game hats off to Jerry man that guy has got a heart when it comes to trying to just stick in there and showing the metal you know they were bred differently back in the day and Jerry really does give the young guy a really good battle here at the end but they choose to go onto one foot so that they can get this over with a little bit quicker and Matt ultimately does hold out winning that second immunity of the Season which gives Matt the confidence to go and try and pull
00 The votes together against George here because when they go back to Camp George talks about the fact that they're going to split the vote it's going to be 2-2-2 and what he wants to do in this scenario is he wants to have two votes placed on Simon and two votes placed on Nina and then he wants to get Nina to throw her vote on Jerry in the spot and that's going to be interesting because there's going to be some consequences to that one vote on jury by the end of this episode but overall this is the point where Matt looks at it and says well I only need one extra person to vote with me and he tries to get Simon and Nina to come with him to vote against George in the spot but it's not going to work out ultimately for them as people still are afraid to take the king out in the spot and George reads him pretty well at Tribal Council so moving on to takeaway number five we have another live Tribal Council when we look at Survivor Australia Australian Survivor Heroes versus Villains why has it been so exciting it's because of these tribal councils being as live as it is we see votes being switched up at the last minute again it happens here in this episode where the in the tribal council George feels very uncomfortable he notices that Simon and the likes of he notices that Simon and the likes of Matt keeps talking to each other Nina and Simon gives each other a
21 Handshake there's certain body language that feels off for George and he turns to lose and he says I think that they're going to switch on me I think Matt is coming after me and Liz has got no reason to doubt him his reads have been pretty accurate throughout the season and George does something very interesting here he speaks to her in Russian and I think the reason he does that is to just create that familiarity with her and continue to work on that Bond you know him reaching out and trying to speak to her in Russian it's probably something that she's taught him a couple of words I'm assuming on the island so that's how they've bonded and he kind of play place that emotional card knowing that Liz is an emotional player in the game and she immediately is willing to switch her vote with him which ultimately means by the end of this episode they had five votes on Nina I believe and one vote on Jerry so clearly Matt at some point either told him vote for Nina it's between you and Nina that's Simon that is I think he told him to vote for Nina and it's interesting because there is a Twist to this game I hate non-elimination episodes I don't think I'll ever be a fan of non-elimination episodes let me know in the comments below if you guys like it I know people say it is a part of Australian Survivor and it's never going to go away they've tried to do better things this season they've had better twists but this is a non-elimination episode Nina gets sent to Survivor quarantine or Exile and Jerry the
41 Second highest vote person also gets seemed with them to the Exile spot the isolation spot on Survivor and it's interesting because they can't get food for themselves they can't get water for themselves so they're going to be like relying on the tribe to do that for them it's almost like being in prison out there where they can't leave their designated spot but this is potentially going to leave George's game in a very vulnerable position like I said Jerry is not wanting to move on George because he's given him his word but we can see in the next on episode that Nina is going to spill the beans on the fact that George told her to vote for Jerry and that's going to leave a sour taste than Jerry's mouth you can just tell he's one of those people you know he wants you to be a straight shooter and if he feels like you've portrayed him I do think this could turn Jerry against George moving forward in the game it'll be interesting to see how this game plays out it's been exciting we've got another episode coming up on Sunday I can't wait to talk about that if you do enjoy this content if you want to see more top 5 takes in the future please consider subscribing I hope in that subscription today please consider liking putting the notification Bell on and please remember to leave some comments below I love reading those at a later stage if you want to see a more in-depth analysis of these two episodes be sure to join us on Thursday evening 8 30 p.m Sydney time as we talk about these episodes on our podcast and live review for now grab your torches
