0:00 Welcome back to the nullifier take where we've got the tnt takes for you on survivor 42 episode 11 here on the nullified tackle we're going to be talking about today we're joined by a very special guest here on the youtube channel today she's played the game before all the way over in philippines on the survivor south african franchise tony welcome to the nullified tech channel for the very first time and i see you've got some merch that you're rocking today you're a mutant i think okay it's almost so a few of my friends and my boyfriend try to steal this cap from me i'm gonna have to i'm gonna have to get some more nullified take i guess caps out to you at some point you know we'll talk about it off here i don't want them to steal yours no and also joining us today is my co-host jake all the way over from arizona it's in the middle of the night over there but jake thank you so much for staying up and talking about survivor 42 of us today of course could never miss out on talking about some survivor but chris why don't you send me a cap oh yeah there we go shaming me on the live stream i'll have to i'll have to sort

1:20 It out i'll sort out a cap for you first before i sort out caps for tony's friends over and saying i should be the top priority no 100 we'll get that sorted out all right well let's get into the episode you know it's a great what have you thought of the season i guess as a whole tony so far you've been watching survivor 42 do you like this season i mean this is the second season in a row now where we've got i guess less days in the show it's a little bit of a faster format how do you feel as an og survivor player that played more of an og format watching this and have you liked seeing the cast here this season no the thing that stands out for me most is the cost i think they've absolutely made the season you know when it first started from day one i could not pick a favorite i could not pick a winner and that's the kind of season that you enjoy watching you know and that every episode your winnipeg changes or your favorite person changes or your most hated person changes and i think you know you can i don't like all of these weird advantages and too many idols and things like that but if you have the right cost you can almost forgive the idols and the advantages because that cost can carry it nothing this costs absolutely carrying it i agree with you i think myself and jake both have been very high on this season as well

2:41 Early on in this episode one of the most loved characters of the season is mike he's called himself stan mike on a lot of social media platforms i think everybody loves mike but the power is starting to go to his head a little bit here he's had a few blind sides in a row now he's taken out hai who is supposed to be his closest alliance member in the game in this spot and he seems to be playing from an emotional sort of driven perspective at this point what did you think of mike's gameplay here from the end of last episode voting out higher leading into this one and wanting to take a bit more control in the game as someone that's played this game before how difficult is it when you see things going your way not to get a little bit power hungry sometimes out there because fastest views we don't know we've never been in that position i've never been in that position either you feel powerful i wasn't good but the thing is i have been i'm an emotional player myself so i can relate to that but i think what he did right was when look it was omar is a dirty dog let's not forget that because omar planted a seed in mark's head about hi saying oh he's my puppet whatever i didn't say that and mike took that information and played with it which is maybe had that information been

4:01 True it would have been a good move but i think if you have somebody that is your number one communication in this game is everything and what i would have done if i was him is but i mean woulda coulda shoulda because i probably maybe wouldn't have but i would have actually taken hi aside and said listen omar said you said this and i could have been like listen i did not ever say that and they could have taken out omar who i think is a huge threat to win this game i agree i mean it's to the point now i won't bring up the points because i we rank players here every single week and at the end of this recap will get us due to rank as well who you think is playing number one two and three at the moment omar is that far ahead that i think even if he was to be voted out next no one can catch him for the rest of the season he's that far ahead in points compared to anybody else because we myself and jake and all the guests that we've had on here i think in general have agreed that omar is playing a really good game and it's really coming to the front here in the end game which is where you want your game to become very strong as you get closer i guess to the end of this game i also just want to say hello to christian gal here in the live stream and christian is saying i think mike is the next to be voted out on the next episode it's surely not looking good for him especially at the end of this episode and we'll go into that a little bit later on you know him losing his idol potentially in the game because he had to give it to omar

5:24 With omar is so i've always been a little bit hesitant about people lying in the game to get further in the game because it can also it can be called out so if you put mike into a jury now and he sits and talks too high and tells high what omar said the lies are going to come out so almost chance of winning could be quite a lesson because you could lose some jury votes there because your lies will be caught so is omar up for a win i'm not sure because if these last come out he might lose votes unless they say you're good he really got us you know you just don't know what kind of and i think mike likes honesty over everything so i don't think he'll respect that kind of move yeah i agree i agree with you and it's interesting because you know when you're a guy like omar jake you know he's almost someone that builds these massively deep connections like i told you last week jake you know when he took that opportunity with mike to get him to turn on high he did it when mike was at his most vulnerable and heard back from his family back at home so he's using a motion to play the game which is i think the most difficult thing to do and people feel more burned about that than anything else in the game when you're building connections at that deeper level it's almost more difficult for someone who builds that type of connections

6:44 To have people want to vote for them and feel good about the fact that this person basically used his family against them to make this move jake yep if mike's on the jury and omar's in the final three i think he's got some explaining to do for sure because mike's gonna get to ponderosa talk with hi tell him exactly what omer said to him and he's they're gonna realize holy crap he played me it was all based on a lie completely took out my closest ally for no reason and he's gonna be pissed because in his mind he was in a good position and he had all this power and i already know that if he's on the jury he's gonna be he's gonna be looking for an explanation and some forgiveness yeah tony do you think and i know we're jumping a little bit forward but i think it's okay it's kind of relevant to talking about mike and omar and their relationship mike trusts omar this much at this point where he is actually giving him his idol in the game and there's a lot of talk about will omar hold that idol and vote mike out next in my mind omar cannot do that like i feel like if he wanted to do it he needed to rip the bandaid off and vote him out as soon as he took the idol but now being in the game for two more days telling mike to his

8:04 Face i'm not going to give it to you i think there's going to be additional animosity that's going to build up over those two days where mike will go in with even more of a bad view of omar so omar even though he's in charge of this game he's also got all this power which means that people will hold him solely responsible for leaving the game where sometimes you can say hey it's a group thing in this case omar is that much in power where people know he is they're the wise in the game i think omar's best move is to now keep mike on his side because if he stood at the final two whatever with omar i mean with mark he's got such a story to tell he can be like look i'm standing next to a guy who literally did everything i told him to do he gave me his idol gave it back i'm still standing here i think that's his best bet to stay and then he doesn't get mark into the jury that's going to be i think mark of all people as much as i love him and he's just amazing i think of all people he'd probably be a bitter jury member i think he would get on to would every day get some information that would piss him off the omaha's best bet is asking to sit next to michael's final yeah it's interesting richard welcome to the stream i know you know richard as well saying it's like how sarah lucina played game changers sarah is one of my favorite players in game changers i think she was a badass so yeah

9:24 I actually you know that i think that's why richard's saying that because he knows how much i love sarah he's just trying to get me worked up well it's funny it's funny you mentioned that because one of the players this season that i see a lot of sarah lecena in her is lindsay do you see that in lindsay do you like lindsay as much as you like sarah lucina i mean this episode was another big episode for her she wanted to go after jonathan but sadly things didn't work out that way for her wish you could take a stab at him here in this episode can you see the parallels between a player like lindsay and sarah lucina i think lindsay's a little bit more emotional so you know even with her perhaps lindsay in a second round would be absolutely brutal but lindsay's she plays with hearts and i love her she's such an amazing player too but i mean she says she wants to take out jonathan but would she would she actually have the balls to finally do it we'll have to find out but you know i wonder if he had if he didn't have immunity would she have done it i'm not sure jake what do you think i don't i don't think she would because i think it's beneficial for the taku4 to kind of stick together

10:44 At this point and i also think that jonathan's kind of losing steam at this point he's got great challenge prowess you know we see even though i thought you're gonna say he's got great abs but continue he's got that too and he even though he's you know he looks very weak like just kind of sitting in the shelter for most of the day he still won that challenge against lindsay and i think he could even maybe win the rest of him but i think just in general i don't think the jury is going to want to give it to him i think that and i think that lindsay knows that as well so i think that they're kind of wanting to take him to the end yeah so for those that are watching the live stream we have had tony drop in and out at some times because she's in the middle of nowhere in south africa with limited cell phone or mobile reception so this might happen a few times within the stream so hopefully we'll get it back in a few minutes here it's an interesting point you bring up there because this specific challenge that they have to go and do when i first looked at it i thought that this actually more suited i feel like it was a challenge that more suited females than men you know because you had to have the less body weight you had the smaller

12:04 Your feet were trying to stay up on that little perch holding your hands above i thought it would sort of suit them in the past we've seen female challenges like a poverty for instance absolutely dominate at these types of endurance challenges so i think you know respect should be given even though jonathan is depleted at this stage in the game he still pulled off a win here against somebody that i thought he wouldn't be able to pull it off against in this specific spot and i think that he probably pulled it off jack because he knows that people are starting to get tired of him and he can sense it to a certain degree where he knows that winning is really important at this stage in the game would you agree to that definitely because if he if he's not winning these challenges then he's not really doing much in the game he's kind of attached to an alliance but he's not really at the head of it he's just kind of along for the ride which is you know interesting to say but these challenges are really what can propel him to a potential win in my mind yeah i agree 100 and it's so needed we do have a little bit of a scene here as well while we're on jonathan in the beginning of the episode where he talks about how difficult this game is for him he eats a lot more than everybody else but he's made a conscious effort of not overeating and eating more than his fair share i mean we've

13:24 Had other big guys play survivor in the past like james clement for instance and james you know he had the whole banana etiquette thing because he kept taking more bananas and heroes versus villains so you know he could easily go down that track where he overeats but he doesn't do it here he does try and do you know not take more than his fair share but then when you look at someone like romeo doesn't have the same courtesy he eats as much as he can while he's out there what did you think tony like while we've got you back here what did you think of romeo eating more than what he's supposed to be eating out there how bad is it when you're playing a game such a survivor and there's limited food and somebody does that oh he's like teeny tiny why does he need all that food you know i like i couldn't i was doing it was silly yeah and you know i actually when i played i believe that the guy should get fed more some people put under that same impression but i do believe it's you know it's common biology that certain people need more steam you know so romeo that was a very strange move and why they keeping around him around i don't know but i think he'd be a goat to take to the end and that's maybe one yeah it's interesting christian here says that jonathan has started to become lazy for the last days of survivor and i think that we just don't appreciate like

14:44 How difficult it is for a guy of that size to keep doing what he's doing it was an interesting scene because you can see him mentally starting to check out when drea and lindsey is busy working on the fishnet andrea has a little bit of a comment in regards to why don't you help type of thing and he gets really annoyed because he feels like people don't appreciate what he's doing around camp and the fact that he's the provider it's interesting because we haven't seen him catch all that many fish as of yet but he talks about it like he's done that like what's your what's your views on that jake because we haven't seen it on the tv show yeah i know since the merge really i thought that i think you and i kind of had a discussion one of these recaps that like you know is the provider role gonna maybe get a comeback and i thought yes even into the merge we could see someone like jonathan getting some points from the other players because he's getting fish but we haven't seen a single scene maybe he hasn't we're just not seeing it but we're not seeing anything of it and that's a little concerning because in his mind he in his mind he's the provider but i wonder if it is like as long as i go out into the water i am the provider you know you need to actually provide to be the provider out there we didn't we just haven't seen it yet but yeah overall like i said i mean they go into this immunity challenge this

16:04 Is where the other really big twist is going to come up right it is the do or die twist and hopefully we can get tony back on for this one because i really want to i want to get i want to get tony's thoughts on this one so we've got the dual die twist that happens here in this episode so you can either play the game you know risk safety or sit out know that at least there's no chance for you to go home without being able to play an advantage like an idol or you know using your die to try and save yourself or any kind of advantage in the game none of that works and you know jeff is not explaining to you as a player here what it is that you're going to have to do so you don't know that it's choosing between three different boxes you might think it's a game of skill there's no skill involved in this is all luck how would you feel as a player hearing this and you know what would your gut instinct be would you want to compete because i feel like everybody wants to compete in survivor but is it worth the risk at the end of the day playing a game of luck like this so as a competitive person there's that side where you just want to compete you know but you know this game does have some luck as john would tell you but you can't rely on completely on that if i was feeling super safe in my alliances and stuff again i would not play it at all

17:24 I would just i'll just leave it and so it's a horrible twist like the game's voting you up oh no we lost there right in the middle of her train of thought there but jake what would you do in that case would you play ah it's tough because you don't know who you are i don't think i could play i don't think i could play just because i don't know what the game is that i have to play a tribal council i would be asking jeff what is the rules to the game can you tell me what the game is about yeah and if he's like i can't tell you that then it's too risky right yeah i mean even if you're at the bottom i mean we see the only two people that chose to even participate were not at the bottom at all so that's pretty interesting to see that like a guy like romeo did not choose to play because he knew he wasn't going to win and i think that's probably going to be the case most of the time if they keep doing this twist you're right they just there's not enough information to even make an informed decision so it's just like just like the game is it's just like a blind decision to even participate yeah tony i think you're a mute there but you know you were sort of saying that it's such a difficult decision to make because you don't know what it is that you have to go do and play there for at the end of the day but you are a competitor so i feel

18:44 Like most competitors like your lindsays and your jonathans will want to play always yeah and because like you say we don't know what happens at the end of it so you might let me compete i might win it and whatever's at the end of it let's roll the dust you know i'd especially feel that if that had come up when i was in my final seven i would have done it because you know i came seventh in my season and i wasn't feeling safe so i would have thought it let me just try you know yeah and there's a chance you could walk away there and win the game you don't know what the game is and then no one can vote for you regardless so you've got safety it's basically like a second immunity when it works out in your favor duncan here says i wouldn't play it even if i felt i was in danger unless it was a challenge i knew i could 100 win and christian here saying that do or die twist is horrible for both seasons back to back hopefully it doesn't return for future seasons and it's quite interesting because it is the monty hall craziness which myself and jake spoke about a little bit before we went live here and with the monty hall dilemma i believe it's something like we had christian ubiqui say on twitter that there was like a 10 chance that both these players on both different seasons would be safe so that's how low it is and it just so happened to work out in such a way where both times they chose the right box

20:04 To be safe in the game but i cannot imagine what must have been going through lindsay's head going up and flipping these things and she was very hard on herself for the rest of this episode as well i felt really bad for her watching it so i was kind of relieved that it didn't blow up in her face but then i was sad for who ultimately ended up going home in this episode oh yes absolutely but then again you know you're going to be sad whoever goes home at this point because they're all just so great so but draya the left what a queen you know and she's very competitive herself and i'm pretty sure that although she left with such grace she's probably she's probably sat in ponderosa feeling pretty sad and she still handled it was amazing i definitely see her coming back for a return season she has to otherwise myself and jack would absolutely riot and we will get all the super fans together and we'll bloody ride and tweet i know jeff doesn't listen to the tweets but we'll work a plan to get dra back on the show but you know it's interesting because again it kind of proves something that i've been saying for more than one season now i've been podcasting since survivors of africa community island basically until now in different seasons i've always said if you've got an advantage in the game or if you've got an idol in the game it's just not worth sharing that information like the downside to it is so much worse for you because that person gets free information which is a currency in the game and they can use that to their benefit and again here jake

21:25 Draya finally feels like she can trust omar of all people showing again how much of a grip he's got in the game and she tells him about the fact that she could take mike's idol making the biggest mistake here what did you think of this play here because it looked like draya was playing this game as a lone gunslinger without having an allegiance to anyone and then when she finally tries to trust someone that person stabs it in the back here yep it's funny because the advantage is called knowledge is power and i think that's supposed to be a it's supposed to be a hint to the player that gets it the real power is that you know about this and you can ask someone you don't you don't need to share with anyone only you need to play it for it to be useful so why did lyanna have to tell someone last season why did draya have to tell someone this season you just there's just no reason it would just it just would have worked if you if you just kept it to yourself the knowledge is power it's a hint to the players if you think back about your first time you know you go out there you go play this game everything's new right and you get a little bit of information in the game how difficult is it to keep this quiet because there's days where there's like massive downtime right and you just want the game

22:45 To move at a faster pace probably than what it is actually moving at you know i can think of players your season that i almost felt like they made moves for the sake of making moves and survivors of africa philippines because they were bored to a certain degree i mean i don't want to name and shame but like the pk moved to devon that was one of those moves where i was like what's going on here you know i love pk but i was like this guy's got your back you know from what we saw as viewers how difficult is it to not make a move sometimes or not tell somebody something it's very difficult especially if you want to gain their trust and especially if they give you information then you feel like oh now like i need to reciprocate which is so silly because there's no such thing you don't owe anyone shuts out there actually and that's i'd like to say to any future player you don't owe any even if they give you something you don't have to give anything in return yeah and it's so tough because like i said you know you're giving them the rope to hang you by telling them about this advantage and drea had so much advantages to her that she could play this season and she was in the perfect spot here to get an idol in her pocket potentially the move would have been on mike omar was afraid to go after mike because he knew mike had an idol and he could potentially play it so everything kind of just worked out for omar in a way where he could then go and make his plan the main plan to go after drea get rid of her you know he could have gone either way i'm very intrigued by why he ultimately decided

24:06 Not to go after mike after taking his idol because that would have guaranteed for him to have an idol in his pocket and i'm wondering tony mike and i know we don't see a lot of this but mike and jonathan seems to be pretty close and jonathan is close to also omar i'm wondering if there's certain conversations we've missed out on where maybe jonathan said hey it's not the move on my care this round let's get rid of drad there was just less people at this point in the game that was willing to fight for drake because i love drea as a player but i kind of feel like she said it best at the final tribal council where she said i don't need alliance members to play this game i can play this game without the alliance members but when it comes to someone having to fight for you in the game she had no one there i'm not sure if tony is still there but jake you get what i'm what i'm saying in regards to that it was just basically i feel like there was no one willing to put their neck on the line here for drea yeah i think she played a bit too much of a lone wolf kind of game like she was like kind of close with everyone but not like fully like really attached with people like kind of the opposite of omar where he's just like all the way in with pretty much everyone and this is kind of the same issue that we saw with hai where once his name started floating around

25:26 Everyone just like kind of rolled with it and didn't really bat an eye especially after omar pulled that lie with mike yeah 100 and it was really interesting here obviously lindsay had her own gameplay she still wanted to make happen here but that gets taken away from her with jonathan being safe we'll never know if she actually would have gone with jan if that was just another fake plan like the romeo plan was a fake plan you never know what the real plan actually is out there until it comes time to vote but we do hear here that romeo this is very much playing into his strategy of doing as little as possible because that means that the target's not going to be on him at this point we're all agreeing that romeo is playing the goat not the greatest of all time but the goats of the slaughter game where if he makes the finale he's guaranteed to get zero votes no one respects his game he's not taking his game in his own hands it was refreshing to see marianne verbalize in this episode that she's also playing the under the radar game she's also trying to not be a big threat in the game but she understands that she's got an uphill battle to fight now to make a case when she gets to the end game so they both are playing the same kind of game but i think in marianne's case i'm not willing to write her off yet we see next time on survivor she might be pulling some plays here we know she's got an idol that no one knows about do you think marianne still has some legs in this game like if

26:46 You had to look at this right now is she completely out of it like romeo because she's got no i guess credibility or resume at this stage in the game or do you think she's aware enough to change this narrative about herself i think she definitely can flip the narrative that she currently has going for her with romeo he says in his confessional i'm on the bottom i'm playing it under the radar game but he doesn't tell us that he's planning to later change that he's just like kind of rolling with it's like does he not realize like there is zero chance that this strategy is gonna win him the game but marianne is very aware of her position and i feel like she has been this entire game of exactly where she stands and i think that i think it's definitely an uphill battle like she's mentioned but there's definitely a chance where i think she knows what she needs to do she needs to make a big move next maybe next week or maybe we see in the finale and she comes out swinging and makes it all the way what is that big move for marianne if we're thinking about it right now is it to take out the biggest target in the game in omar is it to play an idol on romeo when people think it's a it's an

28:06 Easy vote we'll just take romeo out no one's got allegiances to it she talks to romeo says hey romeo i've got an idol you can't tell anyone about it but i'm going to save you in the game we're going gonna go for the biggest person the real person who's running this game and it's omar would that gain her enough credibility or brownie points with a jury such as this where they're like wow omar betrayed me he betrayed you every one of us sitting here omar had a hand in it and marianne came from nowhere she's the david in this david and goliath story and she took out the biggest player in the game is that her move here and is she aware enough we know she's a super fan we know she understands how this game is played i think she will pitch one hell of a case if she gets to the end but i feel like she needs a really big scalp yeah i think i think that's the move i think exactly what you just said i think it's to take out omar and i think yeah maybe playing an idol on romeo would be would be the right move because it shows that she knows that she and romeo are on the bottom and she was able to team up with him and make something happen and it was it was her idol it was her move that propelled her forward and took the biggest threat out and then from there let's see who else is in

29:26 Jonathan lindsay well i was gonna say well what that does effectively jake is it splits that group of players that are like kind of together because you know lindsay and jonathan really at this point can't stand each other or lindsay more so than jonathan but i feel like omar is the glue that are keeping them together because lindsay has respect for omar and then mike and omar are very close so without omar being there maybe you get a faction of mike and jonathan you know gunning for lindsay and that gets romeo and marianne one step closer and we had that confessional early in the season where jonathan said that he looks at as marianas like a little sister yes they bicker but she's like a little sister to him doesn't that make marianne closer to jonathan potentially and if she sits next to her jonathan and a romeo at the end i feel like she could win this season especially if she's taken out of romeo at this point so i don't feel like she's completely dead in the water i think we could see an absolute crazy game play here from left field and i also want to say lindsay and herself if she makes the end i think it's also got a really good shot you had people on the jury you know rooting her on when she had to go and get these boxes high was clearly there come on lindsay you can do it like so clearly there's people on the jury who wants lindsay to get to the end i definitely think lindsay's got a great chance if she ends up making it and then marianne i know we're kind of

30:46 Talking about like oh wow she really has a chance to win i really think it's only that one scenario honestly where she's against jonathan and romeo i think jonathan romeo i think they're i think they're done is it too early to say i think they're done i think it doesn't matter the combination that they're with i think that they're gonna be a losing finalist and i think marianne is i think that's her only win condition is to be sitting next to those two yeah it's interesting i still think mike as well is another one i don't know if mike can win it at this point either because he's just betrayed so many people he's fighting he's been preaching like i love mike as a person i can tell he's a genuine guy but i feel like he's been preaching loyalty i'm gonna stand by you type of thing i'm an old school player but then he doesn't really play that way you know and he does take a lot of joy and cutting these people that he's supposed to be close to you know he was supposed to take a bullet for lydia he was supposed to be with high until the end he ends up taking high out you know it's an interesting game play here but you know in this tribal council it was it was a lot of excitement in this tribal council i'm not gonna lie like when i saw i looked at the timer and we

32:06 Had about 15 minutes of the episode left of actual episode left when we went into tribal council i knew we were in for a banger like i knew it was not going to be straightforward and it did not disappoint because we go to tribal council lindsay is still feeling very down and out about her choice she really struggled with the decision i thought it was really heartwarming and showed a different side to marianne both to marianne and mike when they said don't take this personal don't let this change or define who you are as a person marianne saying yeah you don't lose that hunger to be competitive because that's admirable i thought that was really cool like them standing up for her not to make her feel worse than what she was feeling in that moment so if she did go home you know it would she would have still taken a chance on a million dollars and this could have been her way out of the game but at least they were sort of standing with her in solidarity in this point she does go out there she does make the choice she is safe somehow which is crazy two episodes just two seasons sorry in a row two people saved exactly on the same way can we now put this twist to bed do you think this twist comes back in 43 or is it officially like none of the fans love it hopefully jeff has heard this as well and luckily we've just not lost any casualties to this dumb twist i pray to god that it's done but maybe jeff is like we'll put it

33:26 To bed once someone gets fully screwed by it because you know we've seen both desean and lindsey were ultimately saved and got the torch in their box but you know it's two out of three chance from the beginning that you that you don't so it's not to get too into the math but it's a very low percent that happens twice in a row especially with the monte hall craziness crazy it is really crazy jeff there's just there's just no need there's no need let's move on like i mean if you if you could get rid of fire tokens after one season surely you can get rid of this thing after two seasons as well because i felt like fire tokens without edge of extinction had so much more potential with it like what we could do at becoming a social currency to a certain degree you know it will actually incentivize a player such as you know an omar who stabs you but people don't know he's the one who's got the knife and they're like i'll give omar more currency because he was my friend in the game as they leave you know i would have liked to have seen how that could play out within the game but do or die now second twist that is going

34:46 To be a dud here in this truck and i do relish these twists failing and jeff's face when he's using it out there is the knowledge is power two seasons in a row now these players don't know how to use the knowledge as power correctly they talk about it the plans get blown up two different seasons two different seasons players are coming up with the same plan to move the idol from the position of where the person with this advantage knows at and this fails as well and i tell you what man i was living through marianne this episode like her facial expressions seeing all of this go down i don't know if you've seen like the screenshots afterwards that people have put online like she was living for all of this action that was going down like because can you imagine as a fan sitting there seeing this plan fail that would be crazy yeah it's one thing knowing all of the information and seeing it unfold when you kind of already have the setup but like if you if you're marianne you have no i'm assuming she didn't know anything i think sometimes i don't otherwise she's the best she's the best actress in the world because yeah and i don't think i think marianne just her emotion she that's the only thing with her i don't think she's got a poker face like i honestly think that yeah they wouldn't have told her i'm sure she didn't know coming into this thing it looked very authentic to me like her reactions like go and watch the episode again and watch it from tribal

36:06 Council to see her reaction at the point of dra playing the advantage mike's saying he doesn't have it to her going for a vote go have a look at the expression like she literally had to like put her jaw back after that like it was it was golden i'm telling you this is why i love marianne on the show and why even if she in some ways i'm selfish i don't want her to win because i think if she doesn't win she'll probably be a lock as one of those players that'll come back just because of her personality yep i yeah i agree i think you and i are maybe a bit biased with her because we i feel like we both just really like her and want to see her succeed in any way yeah like i don't know if i could play with marianne like i don't know how her personality would be like if you're like struggling but you know you're like physically you're hurting and you're hungry and she's like high energy all the time but on my tv screen i love the characters i love the top the top players and things like that so i love it like i can see her on the tv screen again but i also know that a lot of people don't like that sometimes like some people want everybody to be a little bit more toned down it's just not exciting tv for me when i'm watching it but right i think it was interesting to see this play out obviously mike moved the idol and drea does end up getting blindsided here she ends up getting voted home but i thought it was

37:26 Really cool to see how she took this in her stride and we don't see this very often on the us survivor i know an australian survivor people seem to play hard fight hard but then leave it all on the floor when they leave there's a lot of respect in general there has been exceptions to this rule in australia as well but in the u.s it seems to be in general people feel really betrayed and hurt by people betraying them but she it was almost like she was a different person when she got voted out did you notice she was showing more of her quirky side she had a bit more personality like this was like a whole new dream we didn't see this whole season it's almost like she was relief the game was over i definitely yep i think i think that's exactly right like her mind was finally like oh we can finally just let go and just relish the fact that like we just played freaking survivor like how awesome is that i don't know if she's a huge fan but i think she's a pretty big fan so i'm sure she was really loving being out there and i think we got to see a little bit of that in her confessionals i think you and i both thought pre-season that she was gonna be a good player but maybe a bit boring and confessionals like she just was very she's very she's very monotone when she when

38:46 She talks on the camera and almost didn't show emotion it's almost like she had this front of i don't want people to know who i am and then when she got voted out she was quirky she was joking around even with jeff it was like wow where was this dryer the whole time like because i loved her the way she was because i loved the i don't know how to put it's basically that cutthroatness that she was playing with she was like i'm gonna i'm gonna experience everything i'm gonna get all the advantages i don't care i'm going to put my hand in all the cookie jars i'm going to play aggressive i don't care and i love that because you only get one shot to play this game and she played it like she said even in this game she played it like this was her last shot she didn't go in there thinking i want survivor or producers to call me back for another season that's not the mindset she went in there with but it was definitely two different personalities which i just found fascinating because i would have loved the quirky drea as well i thought that was really cool at the end when i saw that i feel like i feel like we got maybe not quite to the extent as we saw right after chicago voted out but like one thing that i loved about drea was she laughed i think if you go back to her confessionals yeah she laughed at the end of her confessionals i think every single time because she just i don't know she's just like yeah just really

40:06 Enjoying herself but she doesn't show that to the other players like when she's at camp but when she's in the confessional she can kind of let loose a little bit and yeah i feel like she's just a very she was a very different person from what we saw preseason and i was pleasantly surprised from how she was on the show i really enjoyed her like listen she was definitely i think she solidified herself as my favorite player from the season when she when she left here just because of how she left went back you know had a bit of a like a wrestle with mike you know mike is saying and mike this is the first time mike didn't stay sour because mike has been sour about high's already out of the game and he's like can you hear that's that's highest head rolling as we've just defined the king kind of thing and he's that level of you know pettiness and him and emotion i think he's a good guy but he's he keeps things very personal but with him and her he broke he cracked he's like forgave her for putting two votes on him she's okay with him i'm still gonna visit you in canada i love seeing those interactions but she does throw a little bit of shade on him towards him it's like mike if you get to the end you're winning this thing so what did you think about the kiss of death that she's throwing do you think she really thinks mike's gonna win or do you think that's her gaming it a little bit still because she wants lindsay to win which is what it sounded like yeah that is exactly

41:27 What i was gonna ask you chris exactly what you what you thought personally i think she does i think she does think that he would win if he made the end because i think she personally enjoyed him and his company and enjoyed working with him and ultimately you know she just respected that he was able to turn it around on her so i think maybe she personally like if it was between him and lindsay maybe she would vote for lindsay but i think in general she thinks that the jury is going to like mike and i don't know about that we'll see until she gets to ponder and it's a like completely different story like no ways we're voting for mike at the end but i found that interesting i could see that i was kind of thinking maybe she's throwing a little bit at him but i also don't think there's much hard feelings between her and mike like i don't think like she should feel more hard done by omar and that's why she said i just want everybody to know omar is the only person who knew about this now if omar can survive this is great for omar because she's made everybody aware that he knew about this the jury now knows that he knew about this and he used it to his advantage but in reality this was lindsay's move

42:47 Because lindsay told omar but what if we did this you know omar wasn't even thinking that level of deviousness here even though omar was the one who got to explain it you know which you have to ask yourself why is roma getting the credit is the show deflecting this credit to omar for a reason and is it because he's our winner you got to ask yourself that question if you've watched the show for quite a lot but this was lindsay's idea it was it was it was her idea she was even more devious than omar this episode never thought would hear that but it's what happened and it is interesting that the show is not deciding to kind of really highlight the fact that it was lindsay and they more focused on omer like being in the middle and trying to decide if it's better to cut mike and steal his idol or you know trick drea and cut her even though it is interesting because chris what would you have done would you have taken out mike or drea me personally if i was omar in that situation i almost feel like you want to take out mike but like i said the thing the thing that i don't understand is i don't know how much jonathan had a say in it when omar and jonathan spoke where jonathan

44:07 Might have said i don't want you to take out mike i feel threatened by that because he's the only other big guy that's the left in the game me and mike have got a good relationship we can take him out let's not take him out this round let's take him out in the next round i want drea gone rather at this point because she's coming for me and that's why drea probably said to him at the end i was never coming for you even though you were coming for me i was never coming for you i feel like that conversation happened but we as an audience didn't see it but i feel like as if in a vacuum and nothing in survivor ever happens in a vacuum you always have to take other people's feelings and things into consideration of where their allegiances are in the game as well because omar is not playing this game alone it's not just the chessboard where you can move people around but you know omar for himself should have definitely had mike out in this round because he would have been able to keep the idol i don't think there is any world that might that omar can keep mike's idol i think that if he keeps mike's idol this next round he sells mike to him to the point where he does not win at the end game like there will be a hurt feelings mike is playing in a definite emotional game he would carry that with him to the jury so i feel like a cleaner blind side would have been take the idol blindside him right here you've got an idol in your hand so for that reason if we're not taking all of the other people's feelings into consideration like jonathan potentially and i find it interesting because we're just not seeing omar and

45:27 Jonathan communicate at all at this moment and you know that they're boys but we don't see it and i don't understand why that relationship was touted in the beginning of as being a big thing and it's just gone now it's really interesting because they're clearly working together i mean they voted together i think every single tribal council and it's obvious that the taku4 just in general are working together up to this point at least and they yeah it was such a highlighted thing like we make the perfect human together and we're like you know total opposites but we love each other they were going to be the jt and stephen fischbach of this generation and they just disappeared like what the hell yeah i didn't think they're going to be jt and steven by making it to the end i don't think that's gonna happen it's very interesting that they're not really highlighting that they more highlighted omar and lindsay this episode that they were that lindsay kind of omar came to lindsay with the knowledge of the knowledge's power and she was able to come up with the plan to take out drea yeah jonathan wasn't coming up with that plan let's be honest he was he was sleeping in camp you know he was trying to get you know yeah i mean love him or hate

46:47 It like i love jonathan as a competitor on the show like i love like i think he's a really good addition you can't have 20 of the same personalities play this game you have to have differences and that's what makes the show fun to watch right but he is like a few people here in the live stream said earlier is definitely starting to fizzle out as we get towards the end game here as well now i guess you know we've got a few players left who do you think is going to be the next person who do you think is next on the chopping block here do you think it is automatically going to be that romeo vote and that they stick strong with michael do you think that omar gives them the idol back and then blindsides them in any case if they take out romeo i really i really don't know what to say about that because he's not getting votes no it's just like what because he takes some rice like if so then wow maybe the food is really that big of a factor that like him taking a few morsels of rice off the bottom of the pot is really that big of a deal but no it really it really seemed like that like they really were thinking about voting for him this episode because they just don't like that he's lazy it's not that they don't like him or think he's annoying it's just that oh he doesn't pull his weight which is very interesting thing you never thought you'd hear

48:07 That in 2022 that on survivor that was what was keeping you from staying in the game well that's what happens when you take people's food away from them especially jonathan especially jonathan hill go crazy i the right move is homer i mean really i mean they can't they can't are there enough people that want to make that move though is there enough people i don't feel like mike is as close as he now feels indebted to omar jonathan is boys with him lindsay works close with him like the only person i think that can take omar out is marianne with that is the only play i can see like i just don't see another play where if omar gets through this next round i think he wins this thing i think i could safely say like it's been pretty obvious that he's been the biggest player in the season but if he can get past those next very crucial vote i feel like he's got a very good shot unless he goes out making fire you know something like that yeah crazy like that could still okay here's a here's a doomsday scenario for you chris let's say how would this work let's say how yeah i'm struggling because

49:27 Okay so i'm thinking there's two idol or three idols i believe lindsay's has to be played next week yeah and then there's mike's and marianne's let's say if it's between omer and romeo at the final five and mike and marianne play their idols and then i guess lindsay has immunity then they're obviously gonna take out romeo or take out homework yeah well i don't even think about that like this is how many like we've got six players left we've got there's three idols in the game then you're going to have someone to get immunity so only two people are going to be eligible here this is why i hate the amount of advantages and idols we get in the game this late into it because it almost becomes an automatic vote off like we had with serene you know it's just not something i enjoy seeing like it's similar to the do or die completely based on luck nothing to do with skill you could just be the wrong person at the wrong day omar could have been there bloody having to choose something best player of the season and he ends up picking a skull and he's out like i think it's horrible but any case christian here says that the next two immunity challenges are puzzle challenges

50:47 I think omar wins both of them before heading to a final four it's interesting because we haven't seen have we even seen the puzzle challenge i feel like after the immunity we haven't even seen puzzle challenges it's all been balance or endurance it's all been physical i don't think we've seen any puzzle challenges which is bizarre yeah no puzzles i don't think i mean tori won you know yeah there was the balance where you had to place the blocks then where you had the ball on the pole they were they've yeah there's they've all been endurance slash balance very yeah if it kind of mirrors last season then some of the some of the upcoming challenges should be puzzles i believe the one that er let's hope to mix it up let's hope to mix it up they should definitely give people an opportunity here to win by puzzles as well and not make it all physical because that's why lindsay and jonathan have been the two predominant forces in this game because they're both physical beasts but i also think jonathan may surprise some people on the puzzle portion who knows like i want to see if he can let's see if he's only the muscle guy let's see if he can actually do some of these crazier puzzles and things like that in the game let's get into jake the

52:07 I think let's get into our players here for this episode the list is getting smaller and smaller there's three players that we're gonna choose number three two and one rattle them off who do you think is your top three players here for the week and why okay this is tough because i think i know who the top two are but the third one is a bit of a toss-up i would say number one and two are kind of close too i'll go one lindsay two omer three mike okay tell me all of them like i understand the three i'm really interested to know why you're giving lindsay the benefit of the doubt when it comes to between her and omar and then also why mike cracks into your top three here yeah so i think lindsay kind of edged out omar because she was the one that ultimately came up with the plan to take out drea that omer wasn't really thinking about she was able to despite making kind of a poor choice able to scratch her way out of it and you know come up with a great backup plan

53:28 With omer in case you know she did get the safe box and because she could have just been all doom and gloom and just thought like i'm gone anyways what's the point of even strategizing and you know it's not gonna happen there's gonna be no vote but no she was like what is the optimal play for me if i'm still in it i just i just really thought that was cool and now she has an idol which is and she's gonna she better play in next week because it's the last time so we know she's in the final five unless yeah knowledge is power comes back idle nullifier comes back please no that would be awful but i just i think mike maybe i need to know about mike how does mike crack in there i mean he survived here's the thing here's the thing chris who am i going to put am i going to put jonathan won immunity jonathan won immunity he could have he could have gone home if he didn't he's pissing people off i mean is he pissing you off at least okay he's pissing me off he's pissing he's pissing them off too i mean they even said it

54:49 Yeah said it themselves i mean that's what i'm saying is like the third person is kind of like they're yeah not really in the same conversation as one and two because i hear you i.e on that it's a tough one yeah as much as i love marianne she just wasn't she voted for drea but she clearly did not know what was going on with the knowledge of power and mike's idol she just was completely out of the loop on that and kind of was just a number really with this vote as much as i hate to say that and it's kind of the reason why she really needs to get something going soon because i think people if people are looking at this vote they're saying marianne just kind of following along here yeah i hear you on that one so i'll go through my top three it is stuff between one and two i feel like you kind of convinced me to go lindsay i was going to go omar i was going to go for the default option here but i feel like you make a good point like i saw lindsay making the move to go for drea instead or to keep the idol i saw that you know that was a play from her in to say hey let's move it beforehand that way drow can't get the idol that was great strategic thinking from her

56:09 There she's still very close to omar i do like that omar had mike's trust though so i kind of almost feel like that would put omar above lindsay but then you made a great point by draya being out here i feel like she gains more than omar because she's got the idol in a situation where three people four people are going to be immune next episode and she's one of them so you've got to give her credit for that so i think dra does take the number one spot for me omar is still in the second spot he's playing a really good game i find it very difficult to give mike the third spot here at this point because i just feel like he's getting outplayed from all angles at this point and the guy is clueless like he's a nice guy but i feel like he's getting applied from all angles so i find it hard to give him the third spot even though i know that you know jonathan's pissing people off i will give him credit for winning immunity here i'm gonna give him the third spot we haven't actually had him believe it or not we haven't had him in our top three i believe since episode four or five like it's been a while that he's actually been in the beginning he was running away with it but he's kind of been out of our top three for quite a long time i can see the flaws in his game but i also think he's more solidly in with omar and maybe even a lindsay or to a certain degree marianne than what we probably know as viewers at this point and he is a part of that taku alliance that is kind of dominating at this point i just feel like mike is being outplayed he is being utilized by other

57:29 Players at this moment where jonathan i don't feel like that is the case and he did win his way to safety so i'm going to give it to him he won a challenge that he should not have won like this challenge was not made for someone with his physique to win against someone with lindsay's physique so i take my head off to that i'll give him a little bit of credit here this is the first time in weeks that i can't put rae in my top three she was in my top three for quite a while here but obviously sadly she goes home in the spot we've got not that long to go now jake a couple of episodes left and we'll before we know it'll be the end of the season and we'll be talking in retrospect of what we thought of this season as a whole but overall i'm still high on it how are you feeling at this point you know we're getting going in with two episodes are you still invested because i feel like other seasons sometimes you get to the end and you're like i'm kind of tapping out a little bit but it's not the case for me here yeah this season has been really good but like not it's never like gotten to i think this has been maybe the best episode of the season and that's good you want it yeah production file gets 10 out of 10 for me exactly you want it to peak at the end because you know then you have better i guess recency bias when you're looking at it at the end this season has just been really consistent

58:49 I think that's the best word to describe it there have been i feel like there's been no stinkers out of these episodes i agree i mean we had one episode where some people were getting nitpicky about it and it's like come on guys like let's move on with it you know like the rest of the season's been awesome and not that i'm saying that's that episode wasn't awesome but you know it's like it's one thing that had to come up people talked about it but i don't feel like it has been i don't want that to be the theme of the season when it hasn't been the theme of the season christian here asks hey chris just curious do you think that they take out jonathan before he gets to the final four fire making since he is the best fire maker out there i actually between me and you christian i think that someone like amara is not fearing sitting next to jonathan at the end i think omar knows jonathan does not have the social capital and i think that omar feels like jonathan would take him to the end because they've been boys since the beginning so i feel like from a mars standpoint it's not going to happen i feel like mike really gets along with jonathan as well and they've got that connection as to strong alpha guys that people underestimate or have judged them based on how their appearance is so i feel like he's good there i think the only person left in the game that really wants to take a stab at him is lindsay so the question is can lindsay make

1:00:09 That happen i don't know but if he does go into a fire making scenario i feel like he wins that against anyone but i've got a feeling jonathan's the final three pers i think he's making it all the way to the end i'm putting it out there i think he's getting there's not that many people left so if they don't take him out next episode i think he's there i don't think he's winning at this point i don't know who he needs to sit next to win he needs to sit next to romeo he needs to sit next to marianne if she doesn't do anything maybe he's got a chance there's very few people he can win against i feel like at this point i think that's maybe his win con is like let if marianne just kind of doesn't make anything happen which i would be sad to see then at this point she's kind of making her way towards being a goat similar to romeo i think that something's happening i think something's happening next week i just think marianne's too big of a she's too big of a fan i think to just sit back and let the opportunity go past it i think she's rolling deep she's telling everybody i'm playing my idol i've got an idol surprise everybody's going to think we're not putting votes on marianne that's too risky and then she plays it for romeo and takes out the person she wants to take out in this next round that's what i think is gonna happen you know let's see if it happens but that's the play isn't it oh sorry that's

1:01:29 Right that would be great that'd be great sorry it's yeah it's 1 30 in the morning yeah we're getting close to it in any case here we've been on here for an hour we've touched on all the topics you know but i just wanted to explore i guess those different things hopefully next week we're guys we're in a little bit of a better time for everybody there in the us really wanted to get tony on the podcast sadly she's had some connection issues today so she's been dipping in and out probably couldn't get back on which is a shame but i think tony is such a wealth of knowledge and such a great podcasting guest that i'm gonna have to get her back at some point hopefully where she's got better reception she's not out in the middle of nowhere and we can make it happen so hopefully we get to hear again from tony at the end of the season i'll see if i can make you know something happen when we get it back on and i know that some people wanted me to ask her if she would do the challenge and i couldn't say the oscar here online so hopefully you know i get an opportunity to ask her that in the future for those that checked out challenge coverage earlier today jake was anything else that you wanted to talk about here of this episode i feel like we've touched on everything i think we did yeah well for everybody here and especially christian who stayed up until 4am in eastern canada mate i really appreciate your dedication and it's always good to have you here in every live stream you always add to the conversation so much thank you so much for that everybody that you know i was watching this at the latest stage
