00 Welcome back to the nullified Tech channel here on YouTube where I've got the TNT takes for you on Survivor 45 episode 2 that's right I've just finished the episode and here's my top five takeaways for this episode starting with takeaway number one we start right off on the yellow tribe with Emily coming to the realization that she massively overplayed within the first couple of days out there on island she immediately tries to backtrack her tribe does hold her accountable or her actions up until this point for being too aggressive right off the bat we hear throughout the episode them talking about the fact that she came pretty hard to add Bruce she came pretty hard at Sevilla and Caleb potentially for having an alliance and Sevilla takes this quite personally so a big part of this episode we sort of deal with Emily and the Fallout of it and Emily coming to the realization that she really isn't a bad spot in the game and it's all of her own making now I don't like to kick someone then they're down obviously last week I was pretty critical on Emily's game and I feel like it was well deserved based on how she started the game but she does come to the realization she needs to change things up this episode and she does do a bit of an apology tour she does reach out to certain players during

20 The game and I do think a lot of this was probably helped by the fact that Caleb did come to her and extended the olive branch to start having conversations around how she could get back in the game now immediately when Caleb did this why Spidey scenesis went off and I was like I don't know if you want to play with a snake because I do feel like at some point Emily's going to put her game head off the yellow tribe so I feel like Caleb bringing her into the fault could be a risky game move at the stage but when you're playing with only six people in a tribe they're already lost their first person last week and Hannah who quit she quit the game that meant that they only had five players in the game and Brandon not pulling his way throughout this episode that becomes a big talking point towards the end when they need to think about who they're going to vote out of the game but Emily did an extremely good job after Caleb came to her to also go around and do her best to talk to Sabia make sure that Sevilla was okay with her talk to Sean really sort of appeal to the emotional side within Sean because you can definitely see here as a player they're just going to play a very emotional game he has got a very strategic part of his brain that he's using at times as well but you can see that I feel like Sean is kind of like an Empire and that he can really feel the emotions of other people so her appealing to that is really good but like

40 She said here in this episode herself how long can she downplay her personality or her attitude who she is as a person by Nature she normally works as a data analyst which is a lot more easy to get away without that emotional stuff if that's not something that comes natural to you but in the game she's gonna have to tap into a side of her which I think she doesn't even know if she's got it herself I post really still don't think I made a very brave call on the podcast and I said Emily can't win this game I still don't think she can win the game but this is a step in the right direction and the game is quite long so maybe she can still prove me wrong now that she's survived a vote can become a player that can make one or two very exciting moves at some point and can flip the script so there's still potential there do I think Caleb did the right thing going to her and bringing her in I'm not so sure about that yet I feel like Caleb could have stuck here with an alliance that was a lot more a sure thing but then again they had to choose between tribe strength versus someone that potentially could bite them in the butt later on moving on to take away number two here we do get Jeremiah very early on in the episode trying to decipher what the code is on their tribe flag and she can't figure it out Austin in the meantime sits back like a g and sees

00 Her tried to decipher this code and he's thinking to himself I'll go do this when nobody's looking because he did find the beware advantage and he's got the first part of the clue he goes there he decides it and then realizes that he needs to go do another part of this he still doesn't have a vote in the game luckily for Austin he's in a very solid try you can see them bonding out in the camp you know a lot of great content with Dee and her very long toe and how that may become like a thing later on in the season when she potentially could balance better like we saw the balance beam or pick things up with her feet it was quite a funny scene the only person there that seems to be ruffling feathers at this stage would probably be sifu who seems to be a little bit of an out there character he has a little bit of a dramatic Flair to everything that he does in Camp I'm loving what he's giving to us as a TV audience but it feels like he's annoying some people out there on the island a little bit so he seems to be the person that at this stage is the most out of place another interesting thing that develops here as we talk about takeaway number three because we've talked about the potential Alliance of the blue girls coming together let's talk a little bit about the red tribe and some other alliances here that have come together in this episode obviously the bluegill Alliance they are looking

20 Like there could be some Rough Waters ahead for them and that it's not going to be all smooth sailing because Kelly is playing that middle ground at this point she wants to play with Brandon Brando it's confusing so she wanted to play with Brando did extremely well bonding with the girls here creating a bit of a top for himself with the buff and immediately they wanted to work with him they want to get the numbers on their side but Cali seems to be the person that is the least sure about staying with the girls moving forward in the game she also seems to have a really good relationship with Bruce seems to be doing a really good job the only person that consistently is annoyed by Bruce is Katura Katara consistently says that he's got this Aura around him because he's played before which and fairness that's kind of what Emily said may happen in a certain way it is coming to fruition so I have to give her credit there a lot of people want to work with him he does end up playing up the crazy uncle really sort of the personality comes through a lot more this season and you've got to wonder to yourself like have he never returned like what a big character we potentially would miss out on because if he stays for a long time I think he's going to be a very memorable person moving forward in Survivor but he's also struggling with not telling people to do things at Camp versus playing up this playful

41 Goofy Uncle which I think is to a certain degree a bit of a character that he's putting on this season and Katra is seeing right through this so Katra doesn't want to work with him Kendra is very solid with the girls as well and I think at this point Jake is still the target even though they don't talk too much about it but Bruce has got other ideas him and Jake they get along really well and they want to bring Kelly in and I feel like a lot of people online that once the Girl Alliance to be a thing is probably going to be really annoyed at her if she does end up working with the three boys to vote out a girl here in the early stages but she's kind of thinking about tribe strength and to go into a merged situation with numbers which again the six-person tribes not just for the fact that girls a lot of the time get targeted early but just from a boredom fact because it's now so many seasons in a row that we're seeing the same format can we just get rid of it already Jeff bring in some more mixtures for us I did also want to talk about another Alliance that is forming here at the stage while we're on alliances we do get a little bit of content from Julie who's playing up this mother role and she does end up going to the likes of an Austin a Drew and a D to potentially create a very strong four-person Alliance in that red tribe so far the red tribe's my favorite so that's

01 Very positive to see Drew seems to be the person that could potentially play a really big role and so far he's been able to rein that in and not show people that he's that big of a game player but him and Austin becoming quite close being potentially the JT and Fishback of the Season I'm loving that dynamic between the two of them Austin is a lot more laid back Drew definitely has a big personality and we'll talk a little bit more about Drew because obviously he gets very valuable advantage and the game here as well so as we talk about this next takeaway here takeaway number four we do have ship wheel Island back in the game as well and he does end up going to yes it's ship wheel Island but decision island with Brandon and Bruce he keeps his cards quite close to his chest and asks a little bit about other people's Camp situation Bruce is definitely not giving him anything Brandon is a lot more open and I think Drew would have thought at this stage he could potentially work with Brandon in the future if they were to get together but he is definitely on to Bruce for downplaying any strategy talk and just talking about Camp life and the fact that he'd like people to do more around cab but he's like too old and it's about how he communicates to the younger folks and all that sort of type of thing Drew sees right through it and they have a decision to decipher this puzzle

21 That had shapes in the back of it they had to collect three different shapes that would give them a number then they could decipher this code there's lock and they could pull out the flag to win an advantage in the game Brandon once again Falls flat on his face again showing that he's not that great at the challenge aspect of the game which is a shame because this has been such a big dream for him to go out there and play this game but Drew you know they say diamonds are made in the rough Drew does end up going out of this thing winning it and then gets an advantage which is the ability the tribal council pass where he can leave tribal and his vote won't be counted but that he would be safe in that scenario and it can be used up to the final 10 and immediately plays open cards with his Camp which was interesting I think this is one of the reasons why decision Island for me now has become a little bit boring and predictable like you expect someone when they go on a trip they're going to get something so players don't really have the leeway or ability to like fake out what's happening this is where I'd rather see reward challenges coming back advantages being hidden in a reward challenge where they have to go and look for it when they go out to have like a special day at a survivor cafe

42 Or something like that where they've got food they all can go at different times and enjoy the food like we see an international Survivor sometimes things get hidden it makes it a little bit less obvious as to who actually got the advantage on the reward I feel like this is something that needs to be Workshop because there is almost no other option in my opinion now like when you go on decision Island you actually have to be honest and it's also one of the reasons why I understand why Brandon didn't want to go for the beware advantage and why let's be a habit because he didn't want to lose his vote even though he probably needed it I can understand that and I can also understand why some of the others like Bruce didn't want to lose this vote here it's so obvious what's happening there you've got to play it honest the other two people knew what happened as well so if they're going to meet up with you at a merge situation later on in the season they could easily tell your tribe that you were lying if you're trying to keep the advantage or the idol for yourself so I feel like it creates a lot of potential Targets on your back just to go on decision Island and it's just less exciting for me so to see play out at this stage takeaway number five the yellow tribes are Miss and I think that's not the hottest of takeaways but obviously Brandon like I said he helps Sabia get the beware Advantage they do go and look for the beware Advantage it felt like this viewer Advantage was a lot easier to

02 Do than Austin's one which seems to have like a lot more complicated steps to it Sabia just had to look at the map that they had in Camp and this little key to show her exactly where the idol was and then once she got to the idol I guess the most difficult thing was that they didn't have fire and she got this candle that she's got to burn through to get to the idol which all of these things look really cool it's nice gimmicks that they're bringing into the game the one thing that kept standing out to me about that though was when there were a tribal council what was to prevent severe from just taking out the candle and just lighting it right there at the tribal council is there a rule that she's not allowed to do it that we don't know about it would be good to know that was it just that surviving uses that strict at not allowing players to play outside a little bit and to create some scenarios because I think it would have made for great TV so beer was just like Jeff everything's out there nowadays three people in the tribe already know I've got the spirit Advantage I don't ever vote in the moment I want my vote back so and I want the idle bang let's burn this baby get the idol and then you know I've got it I don't know why she didn't do that maybe it's too risky a move to do at this stage because Emily is there but I mean three of the four of them already know about it and you may as well be at this point like hey

22 Em you're now part of this we're gonna bring you in there's gonna be an idol that we play for the whole team but at least she would have her vote back I feel like it would be worth the risk reward but I know maybe controversial for some people there are some bigger game players out there listening to this right now give me your take on it would you have been that bold and that risky with just burning the candle right there at trihood Council to get your vote back which I think is very important and to know that at least you're not going to go the next Bible because you can just play it if you really feel under threat or maybe you should just get rid of it in any case but anyways that's my thoughts sort of around that situation with the candle sort of advantage and ultimately losing Brandon they're now before people it doesn't seem to be I know that Caleb Sevilla and Sean are kind of tight but I feel like with Emily still there it's going to be volatile moving forward I don't trust that anybody in this tribe at this stage can win the game I've seen enough risks like I even feel like severe believes she's more powerful than what she is and if next on Survivor is true where she talks to him about Emily about potentially going after Caleb it shows that she's trying to do way too much at this stage because Caleb should be a very solid and good number for her in the game she just complained about how she couldn't trust Emily and now she's going to run

42 To the exact person that she can't trust so we'll have to wait for the next episode to see how that plays out but those are kind of my thoughts on this episode of Survivor if you want to see a more in-depth analysis you're gonna like the thought process behind everything that I've just said join us on Friday evening 8 P.M Eastern Standard Time over there in the US as we go live to talk about Survivor 45 so two on our Recaps and please consider subscribing hitting the like putting the notification Bell on so you can know next time I drop one videos but for now grab your torches head back to Camp I'll catch you guys next time bye
