2:54 I was like hey I'm not the one that was sick what the heck yeah so let's Kahuna should be with us any minute he just had his computer do an update on him just as we went live so he'll come and jump in and have a bit of a chat with us as well I'm sure he has got a lot of different takes he finally lost only his second person this season when Kelly went home but someone that Jake I thought throughout this whole season I thought Kelly was a potential winner like she had a really good edit for very large part of the Season were you shocked to see her finally go here in this episode definitely and I yeah I just never thought it would come like this either like I thought that she would be able to like ingratiate herself very well with the Reba people and not be like such a easy alternative to Bruce you know but unfortunately you know as she said and that we'll get into you know he was just a ball chain around her leg that she just couldn't get off and she paid the price yeah it was it was hilarious to see like every time she try to walk away to have a conversation with someone he's walking with her you know reassuring her that I am your number one we're number

4:14 One we're good you know and she's like we don't need to have this conversation for the 20th time today Bruce like I need to go and make friends with other people on the island you're cramping my style you know being around me all the time thank you anun I really appreciate that Scott yeah got to stay on top of it I don't I don't think I'll need it now for the next six months at least you know I've got the natural direct the natural immunity right now Dan saying not to get too far ahead of yeah it's good it's good yeah I think I like I like Jake even more after this episode yeah he feels like a dead man walking though still for sure but yeah we'll see we'll get into your hope is fully on Emily like Emily's going to bring it home for you this I we'll get into it I still think there could be a chance that Jake you know survives a couple more tribals but yeah definitely besides Bruce is like the guy that is gonna you know be getting some heat yeah for sure okay so they go back to Camp after the two tribal councils the first group getting there first not sure who's going to go home from the second group but they speculate

5:35 That it most likely will be Caleb that's the person that they kind of had in sight with the previous one when he did the S the shot in the dark and he saved himself at that point and they do find out that he did go home but this is now the point where Jake has kind of got to own up to everything because he went rogue on the vote so he has to talk to Mama Julie about the fact that he voted against what did you think of this conversation because Julie didn't want to have a bar of it yeah I mean I mean Jake's just kind of going through the motions you know you gotta you got to have these conversations you can't just not have them just ignore them you know they're but you know as you can kind of Imagine Julie was not too not too happy to have to hear what he had to say he said it wasn't personal but you know in Survivor it's hard to not take it that way Not only was Julie not happy with him for going rogue on the vote but even his main man Bruce wasn't happy telling him that you know you needed to tow the party line you had to go in line and actually vote out the person that we wanted and maybe this played a role a little bit in Bruce's mind when you know he could have decided to play an idol on his ally in this round he didn't end up opting to go that way but ultimately you know there is no better safety than your own safety especially in new survivor

6:55 Where alliances count for very little sometimes we saw it here in this episode when Bellow and Reba finally started locking sort of you know they had the targets on each other coming into this episode but none so other than the big girl Alliance this was the very interesting thing kuna that happened and welcome to the live here as well this was the very big thing for me in this episode was seeing the Girl Alliance potentially forming and saying that the boys probably know what's up and the boys are just having fun on the beach they're not thinking down the lines of boys versus girls this season what did you think of this girl Alliance and were you shocked not to see it sort of take shape throughout this episode yeah like I think it makes sense when you look across at what the guys have with an Austin with a Bruce very physical dominant potentially in the end game when it's individual challenges it's a right move to make or at least have it as an option and see what you can sort of work with it with d and Julie D my girl Reba there's only two women there right when they go in and Emily potentially with them but there's three Bellow strong they're going to be outnumbered there so it's okay to just sort of keep them there get rid of Bruce get rid of Jake then you've got

8:15 Austin and Drew there for you can make a move and you've got options at least so I like that but really the I mean to Emily it fell apart faster than this morning I tried to log on I came in my computer reboot started doing updates I reboot my camera wasn't working I apologize it fell apart faster than the old girl Alliance seg well you're here now that's all that matters and I was gonna say Chris here in the live section saying I'm glad Emily didn't go with the girl Alliance it would have made no sense for her it would have probably made the best sense for Bellow girls at this stage because they would have been the tightest three within that six if they did go down that road Emily is sort of dragged into an alliance with both D and Julie because of Drew and Austin but that's clearly where her Allegiance is in the game right now she even told us that in the episode as well Chris says and I'm usually all for the women teaming up I'm kind of bored with the women versus men kind of thing so when it came up I was like can we move on from like these types of alliances personally doesn't get me very excited but I understand where sometimes when you see someone that you've got something in common with then that commonality is enough on a game like Survivor to bring yourself together right and form

9:35 An alliance at least for a couple of votes Jake yeah it kind of makes me wonder why do you think they even showed this scene of them talking about this given that it went absolutely nowhere it may kind of makes me think like it's gonna come up again somehow I think it may because when Kelly went home she was a especially hurt and felt betrayed by Emily she looked at Emily in the face and said was it you and Emily was like sorry you know didn't really own to it own up to it or anything but if Emily does go to the final she may get some heat coming from Kelly and maybe from the other girls which would be unfair because Emily wasn't even the one that was driving the alliance or the idea of it being like this all woman Alliance in the game that was Bellow really trying to like push that narrative and what was she going to have to say in that moment she had to play along like that's Survivor 101 you don't say no to alliances being handed to you on a silver platter out there right so I feel like that could be the potential if we do see something coming back denica says Emily was smart to get ahead of that teaming up with Drew 100% Scott a saying in an interview Kelly said that the girls Alliance was unlikely to actually happen so maybe that doesn't come back Gabe says the Girl Alliance felt like I

10:55 It was just one time deal to vote Bruce in the long run I don't think D and Julie wanted it I agree I think they were more aligned to Drew and also Austin Drew and Austin playing a very good game at this moment because they've got all three girls really wanting to work with them in the game and they're not being targeted you know Austin probably being the biggest physical threat out there your traditional male physical threat out on the island still and then Drew also just seems to be socially in with everyone so I'm feeling very comfortable that my predictions early in the season that one of those two could still win it's still up there like I would not be surprised there's a few people that can still win the game like I don't want to like this is what makes the season so good in my opinion is that there are so many potential winners still in the game but we'll talk about that a bit later on let's talk about the return of the auction you know Jake you're a big fan of Survivor you've watched many of Seasons apparently not since what 2015 2016 we've seen an auction on Survivor did this live up to the hypee can we point a finger at Jeff and say Jeff we were right you were wrong the auction still works yes I love it love it any opportunity we as fans get to tell Jeff that he's wrong we should take that opportunity

12:16 Yes and let me just preface this that it took what so eight years since because 2015 yeah eight years for Jeff to realize H why don't we just not put advantages in the auction it took him eight years for him to realize saying that for a long time people have the one thing that broke it the one thing that ruins once they start gaming the advantages it was over and it took them eight years yeah huh yeah and I think I've mentioned this many times on the podcast but I'll just say it again you didn't even have to remove the advantage just don't make it the last thing or don't announce that it's an advantage or hide it in the food like I loved in Australian Survivor they'll hide Scrolls like in the jar of candy or something or I'm thinking of like in Redemption Island the Boston Rob had the cookies in the jar at one of the rewards it wasn't at the auction but it was at one of the rewards and it was like a scroll that looked just like a cookie they could have just done something like that you could have still had the advantage but I'm totally fine with them just not having Advantage but I just don't understand how it took eight

13:36 Years for them to remedy this it was not that difficult it was not that big of a change yeah I mean I'm just glad it's back though I'm say I'm glad it's back it was fun to see them all bit on food and get to enjoy especially since we now know that in the new age of Survivor food means that much more to them out there because they literally are starving they're not getting anything out there and I agree with Chris love the idea of them running around right from the start to actually earn the money that they were going to bid with and then there's different increments or different amounts of money in each one of those little bamboos that they that they had to go and get in the forest all the different strategies being used you know Bruce taking his time Kahuna getting the shoes on taking a leisurely stroll looking for them as people are grabbing it right next to his face as he's out in the on the island looking for it how did he find freaking Idol if he can't find these bamboos with the money in it kuna hey man he's got old man intuition apparently like he I don't know what he thought was going to happen lot of these young people slow and steady wins a race it's not like there's a finite amount there apparently like did he think it would be unlimited because these guys are like picking at five or six and he even telling him run Bruce like move man you know so he deserved what he

14:56 Got when it was coming up to the I can't believe great minds think alike right I want to just point out Cass's comment here cash imagine Idol in the middle of the fish eyes that's what I thought as soon as you like hide it in there somewhere Jake I was like there probably was we don't know like yeah nobody would have known I'm sorry that was like that's one of the first times except for maybe like you remember that like rotten fish thing they would they did on maresis or All Stars those are like the two times with this these fish eyes where I've like gagged at what was on my screen like why are they so big why are they so big it like what fish is that's a dinosaur what fish is that from is it from a shark like oh my yeah when oh it's so like gelatinous and chewy didn't look good I think I think Austin also I think he underestimated like how chewy that was going to be because he only took one real like sort of bite at it and he's like no I'm done like I'm not having I'll take it with me but I'm not eating a Jeff like you know so that was that was rough to watch that was definitely not Bruce should have gone for the eyes if he threw his 80 bucks at fish eyes no they would let him have it right

16:17 Yeah you should have been like can we can we negotiate like how Drew tried to negotiate after he won his auction with Jeff and Jeff didn't want to know about it yeah no yeah so great like the auction worked out well the running to get the money was amazing like just to watch again like I said in a previous episode I had like a national g like a National Treasure kind of vibe stuff like the way they're running around and trying to find things I like that and the fact that it ended up the way it did with Bruce taking his time having the least amount of money and it turns out that might be advantageous in this game because the Le the person with the least one and then boom 80 bucks has anyone ever had like a bigger episode than Bruce like cuz he ended up being the slowest out there trying to get the money got the least money then ended up getting penalized for having the most money by the end of the auction and he went on because he lost his vote he went on to win the immunity challenge like this was one of the heaviest character Mo episodes we've ever seen for a person and probably the most clutch win as well because he really desperately needed that and he gets to hold on to his Idol for one round long which I don't know if he didn't win immunity if he would have been smart enough or aware enough to play the idol in this round which he would have needed to do but

17:37 Going into the next round now that his number one alies is taken out of the game now he's definitely aware that the idol needs to be played at the next tribal council that he is vulnerable so I feel like there's a higher likelihood that you know this episode worked out perfectly for him in all possible scenarios you know if you wanted to if you were going to lose your vote you want to lose your vote the one round that you're immune and that win immunity I was I was watching that play out and I was like I bet Chris is going to say man big game mentality like Bruce really clutched it out like almost like not even intentional something right he didn't I don't think he knew how in danger he was initially knew something but yeah like huge turnout for Bruce and he's guaranteed to at least seven now to go from potentially like ninth out or 10th out whatever it is and then yeah he's making it through the next one for sure so that's huge I could believe I'm just saying after this week after this week I've got like a sneaky $50 on Bruce to be the first three time player from season 41 onwards I reckon he's coming back for another season Jake he's on season 47 there you go see I knew it he's back I would have said I would have said yeah I would have said season 46 but they

18:57 Already he's not on it I wish he was but man are there only eight people left now nine I think nine sorry yeah okay yeah I got confused because you said he's guaranteed seven and I was like wait a sec does he have two there is because no but Nick oh there's nine left right yeah so he'll get to eight at least yeah Bruce may not have two Idol but you know who does is Austin now Austin does and we keep forgetting we keep forgetting about it he doesn't need it yeah I know that you know I don't usually do this but I actually went on Reddit after the episode usually I wait until we do the podcast but I was just curious what people were saying about the auction and stuff I didn't see a single person mention that Austin now has two Idols I don't think a lot of people realize and it's what it's although it's weird it actually expires at six but that's like that's fine because he has another one so as long as he plays his cards right he if you just to final six boom he's in he's in fire he's had an advantage he has he has a full on full as far as points go and he's got and he's got the potential for third you're right yeah Kelly's gone that's why just became the second Idol yeah Jah and Kelly

20:17 Were the were the two with the amulet so he's it's this is happen so fast yeah it did happen so fast I didn't even to be honest with you're right two Idols you know he's sitting pretty at this St let's read a couple of comments here before we move on from the auction Dan saying I was so happy to see the auction I was glad they got rid of the advantages in the auction that eyeball though yep we're not over it as of yet Danica gab is saying it was fun to see the auction again cash is saying imagine an idol in the middle of a fisheye which is exactly what I think you brought that up earlier kuna Nunes is saying the not knowing when the auction would end after five added stress to those with the money left yeah I've seen some people say they didn't like the fact that the person with the highest money left ended up losing their vote I actually kind of liked it added an element of risk to the auction and because there was not going to be an advantage in the auction I feel like it needed something extra but this probably won't work next time because people are going to come and prepared for this and they're going to have a strategy to yeah like everybody will do the Kendra strategy she was ahead of her time here you know Queen Kendra she ended up going in throwing all her money on some beer and some fries you know which I think the way worse that was The Meta strategy I know it was pretz wasn't

22:57 Myself I'm not the biggest Sweet Tooth either so for me I'm like I want food I want protein or I want carbs that's what I want for it looked like the leftovers from Halloween two weeks ago right they were at the bottom of the bag when all the kids didn't when they didn't want stuff Jeff just brought it from his house like oh I got this laying around yeah the kids didn't want this stuff yeah we'll come back to the Bruce immunity one in a bit Chris saying I was surprised Kelly went home because I figured if she did Austin would have a confessional about that extra Idol so I was taken by surprise yeah they didn't actually bring anything back with that being mentioned sort of on it but yeah I had a lot of fun watching the auction play out very happy to see the auction back in the game so I hope we do get to see a bit more of this in the future we get this moment from home about Kendra we haven't had many of them this season Jake because a lot of people don't like the flashback scenes what did you think of this moment with Kendra talking about her biological dad who she didn't know for 18 years is you know obviously the strategy was to get rid of her money as quickly as she could but if she could also sort of Honor her dad by getting the beer which her dad would have loved you know she was going to go down in that direction it felt kind of to me like it was a heartfelt moment but it felt like why are we why are we getting it right now like it f out of

24:17 Place like why are we seeing do Kindra going next like ex she's not winning she's not winning she's not I don't think she's I was like no she's not she's not winning I was as I was watching I was like If This Were Australian Survivor I would like immediately bet all my money she was going home that episode because Australian Survivor will do that they'll like zero confessionals for like 12 episodes then boom flashback epic music show like heartfelt story backstory gets voted out in that episode but maybe that like Kendra's got this awesome story really touching thing with the biological father and she's so wacky out there we don't know when to put this in the edit she's not getting it anywhere we can insert throw it in here yeah she was doing enough noises we got beer we can relate beer let's do it all right edit it beer done yeah beer my dad lik beer that's how we tie it in yeah but no like being for real though I it was it was nice it was nice to see get nice to learn a little bit more about her about her life I still feel like survivors trying to figure out where they can insert these flashbacks from home because a lot of people have not been enjoying them on Survivor us I personally don't I don't have a problem with flashbacks from home or

25:37 Anything like that but I know a lot of fans don't like it and they're like okay we're not going to do it all in the beginning of the season but maybe we'll like sprinkle it in throughout the season you'll get little bits and P yeah you know who else got a flashback from home yam and he ended up winning That season so you know you never know the way Kendra all the way man like this might be the rise of the cat you know but you know who else got a flashback from home was Jake oh you had to you had to bring it up and he got it a lot earlier right he got it a lot earlier in the season couple episodes ago yeah it's when he was talking about his him losing all that weight yeah there you go so there's a few people that we're getting to know a little bit better here but by the way right leading up to this the challenge like when it's weight based he's like thank God well it was pre it was pre the season right so I feel like he probably got slammed more than most people it was a third of his yeah no I mean if he was like me as well like anytime I hear weight based percentage things I was like because you have like a ratio of like weight to power I think like d and someone maybe like Austin a little bit would be stronger than yeah stronger than their weight would necessarily allow you know what I mean but

26:58 Once you go over a threshold it's the other way around old man old man you can't you can't beat the old man's stream but before we go into the immunity I did want to talk about one more thing that happened at Camp prior to getting into the immunity we do have at this point Emily pulling Drew aside giving him the heads up that the girl Alliance is forming they're potentially going to come for them and based on that Drew ends up pulling catura in knowing that they can use the girls to get rid of Bruce and I thought this was a great conversation between Drew Julie Emily and Katara where Drew says to Katura like listen we want to work with you as a show of Faith why don't you tell us who you want to vote for knowing very well Katura has only had one target this whole season she's only wanted to go after Bruce like she was not going to throw a random name out there so he knew he was still in control of that conversation and she comes up with Bruce obviously and finally feels like people are listening to her so just master class I got to give my boy drew a little bit of a clap here and I don't clap very often here on the podcast but I've been so impressed by him Jake like Drew is a great player of this game and I think that's why when we go to the strategy side of things they give us a lot more Drew than Austin but Austin is he's the funloving guy he's got all the advantages but yeah really enjoyed seeing this play out yeah for sure he's doing

28:19 Very well I still maintain that you know there could be a revolution again the Reba and he might be the collateral damage in that especially because I'm pretty sure Emily knows that it's Austin that has the that's that made me laugh as well Chris saying it made me laugh out loud when God chat keeps stealing my I'm like I'm gonna say this they're going to like it's they're gonna laugh and Chad keeps beating me to the punch man good job Chris Cura is man like I'm sorry like if I were her I'd be disappointed with how my Survivor game was playing out like it's just like your her entire game is Just tunnel vision re completely revolved around this one man I look I understand completely the way that he has treated her and some of the others I'd be freaking annoyed by it too and I'd want him out but like I just also feel bad for like maybe she is giving more confessionals about other they're just focusing on this one they're not showing it they're not showing it so I feel bad I like to imagine it's just all Bruce all the time and she's just solely focused and

29:39 The producers like what are we gonna do with this just Bruce all the like we should we should have started a drinking game at the beginning of the Season every time KRA mentions this Bruce's name we have to take a shot you know it would be absolutely wasted this that'd be a good that'd be a good drinking game to do on a rewatch on a rewatch for sure someone needs to do the Bruce count on all of her confessionals for sure let's have a look at what people are saying here Scott saying tight Drew played that convo perfectly Drew is the third most impressive under 25 player in the new era so far in my opinion Carson and maranne and he is in some great company if we can mention him in both Carson and maranne sort of space because they both phenomenal players of the game as well I'm a big fan of Drew and I think what makes me an even bigger fan of Drew the fact that I came in to the season low on him I said I again I love it like I'll make the Bold calls I'll be like Emily's annoying me and then if Emily plays a great game I'll give her credit she's been playing a really good game she's changed the game you know Drew coming in I said on the draft we don't need so many of these nerdy archetypes on one season like give me maybe one why are we but he's just so much more than that as a player and he's really impressed me so due to that I'm loving it he's my last pick for the Seas season so if he wins I get to see

30:59 A last pick player win the game which is always fun because that just proves to people we don't know the placement we've got absolutely no idea coming into this episode I still thought Kelly had a really good chance right and then she ends up going she ends up getting sniped here in this episode so yeah love seeing it Gabe saying curos edit continues to be hating Bruce yes it does Nunes is saying can't kind argument be made that the background home story has an influence or impact on the way they play the game yeah I guess her relationship with her dad was one that she didn't really know until 18 she was hoping that Bruce would be the father figure but yeah like what are we doing like are we stretching Bruce is just not giving her that you the fatherly love that she's Jeff maybe Jeff has G did you guys watch Jeff's Jimmy Fallon he talks about how it's how it's funny you know he has all these players coming on the show that grew up watching it and they tell him you know you were kind of like a father figure for me you know because either you know my father wasn't in the picture or you know or wasn't a strong presence and so you I kind of looked to you for that and then he said that recently he didn't name who but I don't know who it might be he

32:19 Said that one recent contestant said you're more like a grandfather figure to me wow and Jeff was like wow like he was like that he was like that was a he was saying how that was a crazy moment to him must have been semi most impressive 19yearold to ever play the game you know that's rough Now right's 60 year olds on there you know he's get he's getting he's getting to that age now K could say look the part though yeah no it's a lot of Botox I think it's a lot of plasticity a lot of do not look like he's as old as he is K SK say don't need to know that though what they do the game tells me all I want to know why they didn't what they did what doesn't matter to me if it isn't because of the gameplay okay yeah so that's for the for the home scenes Jay saying Drew and D could be targeted now as figure hits of the Rebo Alliance and be targeted now to go home as we see in the preview for next episode where Emily wants to Target D I think Emily should Target D I think Emily should slowly but surely try and get Drew and Austin for herself and obviously Austin and D is quite close to each other so it probably will be a good move Dan saying it would be awful if it was her in the end and she loses because Bruce votes for the other person not sure who we're referring

33:40 To there you Cur all right yeah the could you imagine if Bruce is the king maker in the end he's the Laurel I feel like it's how that should be like I think everything would be right in the world of Bruce as the king maker of this season you know comes back full circle full circle you know crowns the new Champion K good says it does have an effect on their gameplay yes I don't care other May Scott says I can't afford enough alcohol for that drinking game none of us can by the way I just want to take credit for predicting the potential D and Austin showman as we see preview next app where Emily talks to him about taking out D and says no he likes her they've been telling each other they love each other a lot this season so I don't know how yes they have been a lot of been I've clearly been missing this wow it's mainly been on the challenges like after challenges love you love you like those kind of words have been thrown around quite a bit like you've not been paying attention Jake you know I feel like this is why this is why you this is why you don't get paid to do those podcast because you're not paying attention wow you get paid the big bucks baby if I was around D and those Toes that like help her win challenges I think it's involuntarily you just say I love you like yeah
