Episode summary
Chris is joined by Bandit Survivor for Survivor 51 Episode 6, with Andre away on a work trip to the US. They open on the jump from the new era to the open era, then Kristin’s 25 years of applying and whether the edit is building her as a winner. The main topic is Ori, voted out at a three-person Savu Tribal Council after Devin stuck with Jelly. Chris asks if anyone can stop that pair, and wishes Devin had to live with the risk of keeping Jelly for one more episode. The two split on the tethered idol from the summit: Bandit says Sharonda only got half the information, while Chris says there is no free lunch in Survivor. They also cover Eric’s tears and Sharonda’s eye rolls at Dina, whether the merge is rushed, Lewis as the first Irish player, and justice for Maggie, who got no credit for last week’s move. Bandit’s top three are Sharonda, Kristin and Lewis. Chris picks Kristin, Lewis and Devin to win, and would most like to see Lewis, Mike or Maggie do it.

0:01 Welcome back here on the Nullified Take channel on YouTube where we've got the TNT takes for you on Survivor 51 episode 6. I'm very excited because I get to talk to one of the friends of the channel, someone that I've not spoken to in a minute. I feel like it might have been 2 years or something since we've actually done a collab. I don't know why it's been that long. I just, you know, you're on the other side of the world, so that's probably why. How are you doing, Bandit? >> Oh, yeah. as you're saying Chris, like you're literally you're Australian time zone and I'm Northern Irish. So I think you're literally at quite possibly the other end of the world for me, but I think actually the last time we chatted, correct me if I'm wrong, but I think it was Survivor UK. So that just felt like a completely dystopian time now. But I'm doing really well. Glad to be on here. You're a good friend of mine as you know you said about me and I'm really excited to chat about Survivor 51 and importantly this episode.
0:59 >> I don't know if you've got the stream on in the background. You might want to turn it off because I can hear us talking to ourselves on the stream. There might be. Just have a look. >> Let's see. Can I still hear myself? I can't hear myself at the moment. So, I do think it's on Bandit's side somewhere. So, Bandit's going to go and turn that off. Actually, I can. So, maybe it's my side. Very strange. Bandit, I'm going to get you to come back on for a second because it might be my side. Actually, I'm not too sure. Okay, I'm going to get you to come back on and I'm going to drop out for a second and then come back and maybe just do a little bit of an intro.
1:53 I think it might be my site, so I'll come back in a sec. >> No worries. Well, hopefully it's not my end. I'm trying a new setup. But hopefully everyone in the chat is enjoying Survivor 51. I know it's a bit of a different season, especially compared to the new era. And it's kind of weird going from what's the new era to now the open era. Just kind of technically it's very hard to judge, but I'm excited for it. I'm happy that we're getting to see some of the changes. You've probably seen on my channel that I've been able to talk about some of the changes that have been happening on the show. Again, as I'm sure Chris and I are going to discuss, there's a few situations that are coming up that I'm a bit worried about. I'm a bit worried about, I suppose, the Mr. Beast mega beware, $2 million advantage within this whole thing, but I hope it's not me that's causing the reverb.
2:44 Otherwise, you might have to see me doing a few swaps here with my setup. >> All right, >> we've got it fixed. Thank [laughter] you, Bandit, for carrying the show there for a little bit. I really appreciate >> this is when you do live podcasts. Things like this happen all the time. It's been a while since something like that's happened, but I'm really excited to have you here. I do want to share Bandit your channel with everybody as well. So, just jumping in last minute here to fill in for Andre. Andre can't make the podcast of the live this week because he is on his way to the US. He might actually be in the air right now for work. and very last minute I reached out to Bandit to say, "Hey, can you jump in?" and I thought you'd be the perfect person to talk to since you are Irish and we do have an Irish player playing for us for the first time ever. But for anybody that does not know about Bandit Survivor, go check out his content.
3:37 He can be found here on YouTube under Bandit Survivor. you'll see plenty of short form videos where he talks about Australian Survivor. I believe he's got other international versions of Survivor on there as well as US Survivor, obviously the flagship show. and also I've noted that he does have some shorts up talking about this season of Survivor. So, you know, if you just want short snippets and you don't want the full deep dive like we do here on the Nullified Take channel, please go check out his channel. he's got some great content there. Bandit, it's great to have you back, mate. How are you feeling? How is this season landing with you? And also, I just want to know, have you been sticking it out with new era right through into the open era? What has been your relationship with Survivor? I know a lot of fans, hardcore fans like ourselves have kind of even myself dipped in, dipped out. One of the reasons we haven't spoken for so long is because of the fact that I kind of went offline for about a year and didn't even podcast about the show.
4:32 >> Yeah, I think it's interesting because you had like a year hiatus and I had a year hiatus as well. My hiatus was around Survivor 48 and 49 and it was just a busy time as well for me and I know that you're busy as well behind the scenes which doesn't help at all. But it's one of those situations where again Survivor 41, there was a lot of challenges there, especially with the format, but you're willing to forgive it because as always with these kinds of new environments, especially with it being the quote unquote new era, you're willing to give it a few seasons to see how it develops. But I don't know about you, Chris, but it just felt like they weren't listening to us fans or keeping on with this three tribe format. Very few swaps. very repetitive and kind of the sob stories and just overall structure within the show, the beware advantages.
5:22 I mean, it's surprising when you see fans are celebrating the lack of twist or hidden immunity idol when Rob gets an episode one and it's just a regular idol. I mean, even the contestants were celebrating it. So in that aspect again I think it just got to the point where around Survivor 47 48 and especially 49 because Rizzo and Savannah were kind of spoiled to make really deep runs in that season the wheels kind of fell off the wagon a little bit. I guess for me and I know some other content creators as well. But it's good to see the open era as I was kind of saying to the stream there. It's a bit weird to have the new era followed by the open era. It just kind of seems a bit weird from a age standpoint and the new era is now the older era. But it's good to have finally two seasons back, proper reward challenges back, hidden immunity idols back and just letting the contestants importantly play the game which is which is great to be honest.
6:22 >> Yeah, I mean I couldn't have said it better. I actually dropped out at exactly the same time that you did. I also didn't watch 4849. I did go back to watch 49. I watched the whole season. 48 I got to the Mer section and because I knew who won. I haven't finished that season, but I do need to watch it to the end because I believe Kyle is one of the better winners. People have said like he kind of dominated the end game there in that season. So I do want to see that. >> I think it helps it. You've watched Survivor 50, haven't you? I know you said. >> Okay. I think it helps that the medevac situation happened to Kyle because Yeah. like his premerge edit was a bit weird, but again, it's a situation where it's going to be interesting to see how they transpire with these winner edits because some winners in the new era famously like Erica had zero content.
7:14 So, it's a lot of people are basing it off previous edic trends in the new era, but like it's the open era, so it's going to be interesting. discuss winners and it feels like that Survivor 41 kind of mythos to it where it's like oh my goodness anybody could literally win the game because they could have had a completely different editing style. >> Yeah, it's interesting you mentioned winners edit because I famously or infamously said on this very podcast stream with Andre last week that Ori was one of the people I had my eyes on to win the whole season. and he was like in my top three and then obviously we lose him here this episode. So I do think the edit this season has been somewhat unpredictable but some people may say that it became more predictable this season because we got a lot of backstory from Kristin and a lot of fans online have been on to Kristin from the start.
8:05 I've not been in into the hype. I haven't believed it, but I've got to say she got a full-on backstory of applying for 25 years. I believe since season one, she must have or close to season one, she must have started applying for the show. are you sort of looking Kristin's way at the moment as well and saying she's con kind of staying relevant even when she was the only person in that tribe that swapped into that tribe from her original tribe. They've constantly checked in with her or people have constantly talked about how good she is at the game and how dangerous she is. It does feel like they're kind of trying to build a resume even though Jeff says that Winners Edits does not exist. >> All right. Jeff would never lie to us, Chris. He infamously never does. Definitely not with the hourglass or anything. But it's crazy like Kristin's been applying since to your point season 2 when she was 24 years old. and I don't know if you saw there was a tweet by Kayla Afro. I don't know if you've watched her content.
8:56 And I know she's been in some of the videos that I would feature with you in when you would send in voice clips like the 10 YouTuber videos and the 20 YouTuber videos. But she had a really funny tweet which is like how did the Survivor producers have 25 years worth of video footage from her on her casting calls? But again, it's kind of interesting with Kristin because a lot of people were actually kind of writing her out because a lot of her more personal scenes actually were deleted content. In episode 2, when her leg injury happens, it actually turns out that it was a deleted scene where the doctors go over to her. I think she broke a small part of her bone, but it wasn't enough to pull her from the game. And then there was another scene where it was actually this episode where she comes back from exile and she has to explain to her tribe what basically happened and kind of go through that lie with everybody.
9:47 But it's definitely the paradigm has kind of shifted because at least she's now getting personal content. There's a little bit of worry that so much of her potential content has been cut out, but I think it's clear now that she's in the top five, >> potentially top three of a lot of people's lists online. I think that's almost unanimous. Yeah, I mean they've definitely misdirected us a few times within the season. Like I said, I had my eyes on Ori. I do want to say hello to Jay in the live stream here that said hello to both of us. He's also endorsing your videos, Bandit. >> 48 is a slog to get through. So, I still have to do it, Jay. Like, I feel like, you know, I can't really call myself a Survivor content creator if I haven't seen all [clears throat] the seasons. So, I've got to do it at some point. But, you know, like I said, the Mr. Rick was there. Ori got such good backstory in the previous one. Immigrant child coming into the country.
10:37 His mom had to do a couple of different jobs to get him through or get the family up and running there in America. And it felt like he had a bit of content, a bit of backstory. Andre and I spoke about the fact that we got it from both from Ori and from Alexis that episode. We didn't get anything from Jelly. And we kind of marked Jelly down because of that. And we said, "Well, maybe Jelly doesn't go deep or win this game." But ultimately, she does survive this episode in a threeperson tribe and takes a bit of control with Devin here. And the title of this live is, can anyone stop them? And I'm talking about Devin and Jelly. What's your thoughts? Because this is a dynamic duo. A lot of people know that they're coming. They've been working together for so long, but can anyone stop them in the game right now? >> Yeah, I think it's interesting because like the edit really made it out to be that Ori was the correct call. is a levelheaded, constant person that Jelly was almost pushing ideas off of and they almost seem to in some scenes have the better synergy with one another.
11:38 But Devin is presented as chaotic, as untrustworthy, as this bit of a drama person. But again, as you say, it was a bit of a blind side that Ori was taken out. It's kind of interesting. thing. I know some people have speculated that coming into the merge, we're basically going to have the helicopter alliance versus the farmer alliance and kind of the extra people on each side. So, I mean, Jelly's definitely got a few allies. I mean, she's got Sharonda, she's got Brady, she's got I mean, Mike, if he's not floating in the abyss, and then you have a few floaters in the middle, kind of your Erics, your Cristians. So, I could definitely see her and Devin kind of going later on into the game. And again, like when you're getting into the merge, I know a lot of people were saying, "Oh my goodness, like there's six women that have been voted out of Survivor." We've seen in San Die and even, you know, you and I are Australian Survivor afficionados.
12:29 Like the paradigm does shift eventually. They're going to be looking at all these big guys that had a bit of an easier time during the premerge, like your Devin's and your Bradies, and they're going to be getting the target before Jelly. So, I think her edit definitely screams longevity to your point. bit worried about the lack of personal content. Maybe it could be a situation where she gets it later on by herself, but I did notice that about the tribal council where it was Ori was basically saying jelly story for her about her nan or something and we didn't get any of that. So, that's a bit of a worry. >> Yeah, definitely a bit of a worry. But I'm like I always say on these lives when I do them that I believe that the premerge is not detrimental to your game. Like if you don't get the content premerge, if you don't make the moves pre merge, people forget like it's really what happens after the merge as you get closer to the end.
13:22 So I do think Jelly still has an opportunity to have her personal story come out closer towards the end where we could suddenly feel like we need to get behind her to win the season. I mean people have won this game on less of an edit than what Jelly's had so far in the game. So I am not willing to write her off. Like we all know those winners that came from nowhere and we were like what the hell happened? What were the game? How did that I mean, we at least can see Jelly's game this season. We can see her logic and why she chooses who she chooses. it's an interesting one. Her end ending up going with Devin. It shows how close she really is with him. I actually thought for the longest period of time this episode that Devin was finally going to go full villain because people look at Devin as this villain. Even Andre believes that Devin is a villain in the game. I don't see it. Like, I don't know what I'm missing, Bandit. And maybe you can enlighten me on why people think that Devin is a villain.
14:12 To me, I think his personality is that he's this smirky guy and he's got a certain way of speaking that people just don't resonate with or don't like, but I don't think he's actually done anything villainous in the game as of yet. What's your take on Devin? >> Yeah, I mean, it's he's one of those people that are coming in and he's coming in and again, he's very entertaining, but he is coming in as artificial. Like, a lot of the confessionals seem kind of preconceived. They seem a bit more over the top. And again, it's kind of like you've watched Australian Survivor Redemption, have you? >> I did. Yes. >> Okay. I just want to double check. He feels very much kind of like a Ben character in the season where like he's just going so overboard with his confessionals and every second he's flying his hands up in the air and he's creating these insane analogies. And again, Devin, I think he is there to some extent, and I wouldn't blame him to get some exposure for his acting career and stuff like that, but again, you kind of see usually on Survivor seasons these people that are big, that are boisterous, that if they get their way, they're really acting it up and they're feeling like the top dog.
15:19 People almost want their comeuppants to come on ahead for them. >> But I love those characters, Ben. And we need those characters in the show. Like I don't And that's what makes Australian survivors so great because they're not afraid to cast these really bold big personalities that either are going to fly high like Icarus and get too close to the sun and burn or going to go all the way and win the show. Right. And that is what we kind of need I think in Survivor for a good show because one of my biggest issues with New Era was that people all seem to feel similar and bland after a while. And I just like to your point, one season to the other season, we were just exchanging people, but Devin is his own character. We've been talking a lot about Brady this season. Brady is a completely new character. I mean, I feel like personally, Bandit, I don't know if I'm just high at the moment of watching Survivor 51, but you know, yes, we've got the two tribes that went into three tribes, but damn, it's been a good season so far.
16:11 We've got good cast members out there playing the show this season. >> Exactly. It's been so entertaining. And it's also been really full. Like I know the swap episodes we've kind of got more personal content which I don't mind too much. I don't mind those kind of moments of Carter making the swinging and everything, but they should be those kinds of separate episodes like Survivor 46. Like how many times did we get Ben and Charlie having singer battles and Bhanu, you know, going for 20 minutes a monologue about different things. >> It's the same stuff over and over. >> Exactly. It's good to have those three very full episodes where it felt like nothing was filler. It felt like okay, like the only thing that potentially could have been argued as filler was Brady's thumb, but again, that was such good character moments and everyone got their opinion. It felt so full and again you have a lot of these other really good dynamics as well.
17:02 Now they were on the three tribe format. The previous episode five, was fantastic with everything that blew up in that situation. So again, I think the pacing as well is massive. And again, I don't think they would have casted a Devin in Survivor 41 to 46. I think he was too villainous for that point, but it's great to see now that they're kind of casting these Devin's, these Bradies. Even Ori, I don't think he would have been casted earlier on just due to his kind of casting size and the fact that he's a bit more of a recruit rather than a super fan. So again, it's good to see these kind of out of the box people that have been >> they were leaning away at one stage in Survivor. They were leaning away from the classic jock archetype. Like I mean Jonathan stood out like a sore thumb in his season when he played in season 41. And I felt like that happened throughout where they were and it's one of the reasons why the challenges in a lot of ways for me they lost so much steam on the challenges compared to Australian Survivor.
17:58 Australian Survivor were doing these crazy things because they had physically active people playing the game. But they had to like lower the bar for people in Survivor US just to be able to get through challenges because they didn't Well, that doesn't help. >> Three Tribes doesn't help. And I think it comes down to also the like I say this as a Survivor fan and I say this with love. I don't want to see 20 Survivor fans play the game. Like the really nerdy archetype out there playing the game. Like I'm okay with it being there and there to be balance. And I think it's great this season having Kilby there. I think it's great having like a like Cristian there and Eric. They've all added so much to the season. And it just funny that it so happens they're all on the same tribe at the moment and how that worked in the split. I don't know. But I think it's great to your point when we've got that diversity and cast. We've got different people from different backgrounds coming in.
18:49 Like even having Carter this season who's the good old farm boy, the JT archetype that needs to fit in with all these you know big city folk playing the game like that is an interesting dynamic. That is what's always made Survivor great for me personally. I do want to go and bring up this question from Jay. Jay saying question for Chris and Bandit. Jelly and Devin seems like Shan and Ricard 2.0 in my opinion. Do you guys see it? I'll let you take that one, Bandit. >> Yeah, I suppose it's interesting. I'm just trying to work out like would Jelly make it to the final five is my question. Like it definitely seems similar to that. You have these people that are the final two, they survive a disaster tribe. Devin, I suppose, is the Shan in the situation who's more villainous. Jelly's the one with kind of better winner odds. I mean, there's definitely kind of connections that you can make with one another.
19:42 I suppose my thing is that Shan and Ricard, they were coming in as only two, very few connections. At least now we know of Devin and Jelly. They've got Kristin, they've got Sharonda, they've got a few more dynamics, so potentially they could last a little bit longer. And again, the only real alliance that has been brought up over multiple episodes has been the helicopter alliance, which is better than Shan and Ricard, which was basically, yeah, we've got an alliance, but we're openly going to tell each other, "Hey, we're targeting each other. We can't go to the end." Yeah, I think that I agree with you. I also agree with Jay in the sense that I can see it because Devin is already aware that he will need to take Jelly out at some stage and he's talking about that to us in the confessionals. I also think Jelly has mentioned a couple of times she doesn't know how far she can go with Devin just because of how honest he is. And that's interesting. I mean, I would have almost liked for it, to be honest with you, Bandit to play out for one more episode before the merge.
20:36 I feel like we're just pulling the trigger this one moment too early. I wanted Devin to have to own the mistake he made this episode by keeping Jelly in the game, right? Because if they were to go back to tribal council and she played her idol, he would be out by default and it would have been his fault for not trying to take the other angle with Ori and actually doing the right thing here to blindside Jelly who I always thought was not going to play her idol in this moment. She felt extremely comfortable with Devin. I don't know how you feel about that. I thought it could have made like normally I wouldn't say you want somebody to be twist screwed out of it but it would have kind of been just this to be honest just for the for the move that he made there but he's never going to have to wear that consequence now because he's going to get into a merge tribe very soon. >> Yeah, exactly. I think it's definitely an interesting point that you bring up. I would have loved to have a merge at 14 just like having Ori there would have been so interesting and having a big bigger merge with a lot of these people.
21:30 But again, it would be interesting just kind of to see Devin's almost downfall keeping Jelly too long. And again, to your point, like when Jelly says she's going to play the idol and she's making the public, you know, she's not going to play the idol, she's just going to try and bluffy and get to an ax round. So yeah, that's >> And there was no risk. There was no risk for Devin in this moment because if she played the idol and he had his two votes and he split, I guess the only thing is there would have it would have caused mistrust between Jelly and himself. What I was thinking in the moment, I was like Devin could play as two votes. He could put one on Jelly and he could put one on Ori, right? Which would have been a safe bet for him and actually it wouldn't have because Jelly would have still voted for Ori. H my numbers are not working out in that one. So yeah, it was a it was a risky move for him, but if Lewis was there or Kilby was there, I felt like they would have pulled the trigger. They're there for the they've got the BMT, the big match temperament to take out big threats in the game and to go deeper into the game, which I've been enjoying.
22:27 I just want to quickly say hello to Dreadful Ruby who's also here in the live saying, "I was so sad when they lost." I do agree. I think it was sad to see them lose. But in some ways also, I haven't I've been feeling similar to you, Bandit, that the helicopter Alliance had been like the only Alliance that has been named this season. And I was fearful that the season was going to become too predictable with the helicopter alliance steamrolling at some point. So for me the counter was even though I was sad to see Ori go, even though I was sad to see these three that are so close having to make this decision, it did make for very entertaining TV firstly because they had to make that choice and we hardly ever get to see three people go to vote anymore to have two people survive. So that was an interesting dynamic as a viewer. and then secondly, it has now made it so that at least we know the helicopter alliance is not going to steamroll this. Like if the three of them, Sharonda, Jelly, and Devin, find a way to the end, it's going to have to be through some serious skill and working with the other members, but a fivep person big helicopter alliance was a bit more threatening.
23:29 >> Exactly. I feel like almost the blind side of this episode was that the tribe went to tribal council which is a really unique way of kind of editing a show because as soon as this tribe goes to tribal council especially with Jelly's whole spiel when she's in the camp you know that is screwed you know he's going home. So, it felt like they kind of elongated the amount of time before the challenge. And even the challenge itself, they focused so much on that physical portion and the ropes because they wanted to make you think, oh, this tribe with three, they're going to be able to succeed and they weren't showing them during the puzzles. So, again, it's kind of interesting how they edited that whole sequence from the producer perspective. >> Yeah. And it's funny how we went through this roller coaster with Ori because as the episode sort of in the beginning parts of the episode, he gets to go onto the boat. He gets to go to the summit.
24:19 He's there with Alliance members and Kristin and Sharonda. And I thought to myself, this could not have worked out any better for these three people to go to the beach together. They trust each other. They want to work together. They can come up with a mutual agreement of what needs to happen there. I thought that Sharonda, like I was really impressed with her read on Kristin and how she let Kristin make that decision ultimately for her to go and go to the exile island and for her to get the tethered advantage that, you know, they think there's going to be something that's going to benefit them in the game, not necessarily Kristin, but obviously in Survivor there's always a twist behind the twist, which I thought was really good because I hated the idea of the tethered advantage at first because I don't like it when production forces people to make a move, right? So they force you to lose your vote. They force you to play your idol on someone else. They force you to give an idol away like the Billy Eyish idol.
25:12 I don't like those mechanics. I want the players to have choice and at least with that last bit where if they both get voted out of the game, it becomes a full-fledged idol for her. There is some control that's coming back to Kristin's game. What did you think of the summit twist, the tethered immunity idol and everything that happened there? Yeah, it feels like the amulet coin advantage that we saw in the likes of Survivor 42 except one single advantage. It is interesting that as you say Ori is now voted out so it only really affects Sharonda and Kristin. I don't like the fact that you're giving half the information to one person and then all the information to Kristin because for Sharonda, she is now thinking that she has this incentive to keep Kristin because from what she knows, Kristin has an idol that can only be used for her. So, she's going to try and get Kristin as far as she can into the game so eventually she can play that idol for her.
26:07 What she doesn't know is that Kristin has now unlocked a brand new win condition that she's not even aware of that Kristin could actually target Sharonda to get her out and then get a fullyfledged idol. So again, it's kind of like if you and I played Monopoly and we've already had friends that have always done this in Monopoly. You go to jail, someone lands on your property and it's like, h but I actually there's the rule where if I'm in jail, I still get all that rent money. Give me five grand, Chris, so I win the game. And you're like, well, you didn't say that part of the rule. she into the entire dynamic. So, it's kind of interesting in that aspect. >> I hear you in that, but I would push back slightly on it. I mean, we are playing Survivor. We're playing Survivor and in Survivor, I feel like it's not unprecedented for someone to stay back and for that they get from it or there to be additional information. And I think if Sharonda was a student of the game, I don't know if she is a fan or someone that has watched it for a very long time, maybe she's a newer school fan, but even if you're a newer school fan, you should know there's always something that happens when somebody stays back.
27:09 There's always another piece of the information that you probably don't know. And like quite a few people said, I can't remember in which tribes, there is no such thing as a free lunch and survivor. So I do think she was 80% there, but she missed out on that opportunity to think, well, what is the twisty? cuz this is very lopsided for Kristin. There's no advantage for Kristin really in this game. Like surely there's going to be another thing that's going to entice her to betray us or something like, you know, so I just think that I hear where you're coming from, but it is Survivor. >> I know. Yes. I don't know. It just feels like one of those Survivor 41 twists to me, but I know it's very opinions can be very split, so I suppose you're more so on one end and I'm on the other, which is fine. And again, this could all work out to be a fantastic >> all the time with me and Andre, by the way. [laughter] All the time. Makes for great content from some episodes. Yes. >> But, it'll be interesting to see what transpires.
28:02 >> Yeah. Kristin here says, "Now, sorry. Dreadful Ruby says here that now Kristin only has to take out one person. Probably makes Sharonda more at risk, which I agree with. they basically stole Lewis's ring lie, the blood ring lie. I think almost the same, but it was the blood ring lie was an interesting one. We could touch on it just here for a second before we move back to this episode. I don't feel like I got everything from Andre here when I asked him about this one last time, but I thought it was such a very clever way to bring a twist in the game where it's almost like the blood moon twist where you're tied to me, tied destinies if you vote me out and I've given you this ring, you go home with me unless you can get me through a couple of episodes. I almost feel like that is a twist that we do need to see in Survivor now that Lewis has brought it in. Did you like that angle? What's your thoughts on that? Yeah. shameless plug. I know that you shouted out my shorts content. One of my first shorts that I've actually made about Survivor 51 is talking about should the blood ring be an actual advantage that could be brought out on the show.
28:59 And again, it's one of those lies that are quite believable. We had a blood moon last season. We had tie destinies. And we also know that again, Australian Survivor, they have more episodes than contestants. So, they need to have non-elimination episodes. Survivor US is different. They have more contestants and elimination episodes, so they need double booked a lot of the time. So, it makes a lot of sense. >> Bring back 39 days. Please bring back 39 days. >> Oh, exactly. Yes, I will agree with you. I'll stand on the soap box on that front, but it seems like that's a way to give the contestants more power to double eliminate. Unfortunately, I don't know if you've watched like Lewis's Tik Tok or YouTube Shorts account, but he actually went more into detail about how the blood ring he described wasn't actually the ring he had. It's his ring was aqua marine. So, Cristian's one of those kids that kind of in the mads exam, they get the right answer, but the working out is all incorrect.
29:54 So, he managed to clock Lewis because of again kind of technicalities and not really knowing the full aquamarine of the blood ring. I did I did see I did see he cleared up the air on socials afterwards because it made him look like he couldn't keep his lies straight in the game or he couldn't keep his story straight but yeah very unfortunate that it worked out that way. I like Andre didn't think that Sharonda fell for it. I thought she did like she was going around talking to people about it. That meant that she was worried about it and that you know do you really take a risk with your life in the game? you know, until Cristian gave her that feeling of certainty that no, I've seen that ring day one and he said it was something different, you know, cuz she had doubt in her mind. But I think she also she was almost ready to believe him. Sometimes when a lie is that good in Survivor and especially if it's your own life at stake, you know, you're not going to you're not going to roll the dice if you don't have to.
30:45 I wouldn't. >> And it's not it's not a normal lie. It's not like, oh, I got an idol or anything like that. It's like such a creative thing. And especially it helps now that Survivor 51 are bringing out so many new twists or variations of previous twists. again it kind of in the edit it made her seem and again it's the editors they could always bring it up for tension. It seemed like she was kind of in the middle which I think is actually quite good to have that healthy dose of fear about the potential idol. It seemed like Eric was the definite yes. Cristian was a definite no when she was somewhere in the middle. So which I think is fair honestly when you're given this advantage. >> Yeah. Jay here says, "I didn't like the tethered idol at first, but I liked it when they added the stipulation of Kristin being able to have a chance of keeping it for herself." and then also says, "I think Sharonda did fall for that lie." we've been talking quite a bit about that tribe.
31:38 And there was a Savu tribe. There was a big fallout on that tribe. you know, we go back to that tribe. You've got is it Savu? Yeah. No, it's not S. They've changed the It's a Dina tribe. It's a Dina tribe. The pink tribe. Yep. Sorry about that. So, Eric, >> my man Eric, he is the gift that keeps on giving this season. Like, and you know, he's so dramatic. He's almost like a Bhanu type of character, but not as insufferable as Bhanu. Not quite at that level, I would say. What did you think of Eric and all the crying this episode about the betrayal of Kilby in this moment? And have you ever had to deal with that in real life? Have you had a friend that maybe just gets to a little bit too emotional? You know, like >> the teen start crying to you know about all my wounds.
32:29 But [laughter] I don't know. It's just interesting. Like I am one of those people that if I ever went on Survivor, I know that sleep would be the ultimate killer because I get so emotional if I don't get my seven or eight hours of sleep. And you're probably sleeping about 3 hours on Survivor. So fair enough. He's allowed to cry. He's a man in 2026. We don't judge. >> Yeah. >> I've got a friend as well, a fellow YouTube content creator called Makucky who also does start crying when he doesn't have a chocolate milk, you know? So, like, yeah, he needs a chocolate chalky milk every single day. Otherwise, that guy gets very emotional. And I've been telling him, mate, you got to you got to talk to someone about that. And I feel like Eric is he's on that same train. You know, I could see a little bit of >> Asian area. What's about your chalky milks over there? You're so addicted to that. Lington [laughter] Towns. >> Exactly. Sorry, I overtook.
33:19 Yeah. What's your thoughts about Eric? >> I don't know. It's interesting. Like he seems to be such an emotional player, which is so interesting from like the super fan kind of perspective. Like he seems so, oh my goodness, this is Kilby. Kilby's being mistreated. I need to align myself with Kilby and really work with him. And just coming on too strong to the point that Kilby, who really should be seeing Eric as his lifeline in the game, is like, "Dude, you're actually pushing me away. you're being too strong with me. And then as soon as Kilby turns against him, which Kilby's logic makes sense, like he didn't know if he would get the four votes, so he has to play defensive to a certain extent. Eric Z deciding, oh no, well, I can't trust you anymore and I give you all this trust. So, it just seems like potentially the issue is he can be a bit volatile with how he reacts to people. He can either go all in or all out. You know, my favorite moment of this episode was seeing the amounts of times that Sharonda was eye rolling every time [laughter] Eric spoke.
34:14 Like Sharonda does not like Eric. She does not like the guts of him. But she is forced. She's like stuck with this guy. She's tethered to this guy for lack of a better word in this Dina tribe. She can't afford to let him know how much she just doesn't like the way that he >> challenge. Oh, so good. The Dina Divas. And she's just like, "No, just don't even say it." >> The Dina Divas. them sitting in the in the camp and him saying about, you know, I like I just like to have a good cry and get my emotions out there. And you can just see her looking at him like, who is this guy? Where did he come from? >> Oblivion. [laughter] He's so oblivious to it. And I don't know. I just I just find it hilarious and this is what makes Survivor so good is that you got people that probably in real life that like Sharonda and Eric will not be hanging out, you know, at the barbecue afterwards. I just feel like she like they probably be like on speaking terms I would hope afterwards but they clearly they're just not they're like all in water.
35:09 They're two different people but they are forced to work together. Jay as well saying yes Sharonda has great facial reactions. something that I just really loved but it's interesting. I do like and this is another reason why I almost sometimes feel like we rush into the merge like you know because we're rushing into the merge just so that we can split them back into two tribes for the next episode and vote in two separate tribes. So to me it's like what are we doing? Like there is actually some interesting storylines that are that are developing. Like for instance the Devin Jelly. I would have liked to have seen what would have happened if they went back to tribal council. Jelly played her idol. Devin plays a shot in the duck. They both end up safe. What happens in that moment? Do they both just stay? Like I think there's some interesting unexplor unexplored things that could have happened in that tribe. And then when I look at Dina, I really wanted to see if Kilby could wrestle Eric over because he was confident that he could still do that.
36:00 And then Cristian is starting to dip his toes into the water and finally come out of a shell and say maybe I need to work with Lewis and Kilby. Like there's some interesting dynamics that started forming in Dina that I just feel like we're not going to see now. Like probably the least interesting tribe would have been the yellow tribe at this stage cuz they're steamrolling. But I think if both either Pink or Savu went to tribal council next episode, it could have been very interesting. In fact, they probably should have forced two tribes to go to tribal council next episode because we've got so many players left in the game like you mentioned. And I'd rather see those players go out prior to merge than have double boot episodes after the merge. I don't know if that makes sense. It was a bit of a rant, but I needed like Eric, I needed to get that off my chest. >> I know. Exactly. I'm always a big proponent, and this is even Australian Survivor where if you're going to do your screw over eliminations, in this case, your double eliminations. I would rather them all be premerge, even that means you have a longer premerge for an episode or two, just so that our merge is completely unaffected.
36:57 It's all organic gameplay, very minimal twists, and you just let the contestants play as is. It almost felt like this episode was setting up the next episode because it was a predictable boot. There wasn't really many dynamics. There was only three people you could go to at the tribe. So, it felt like Cristian working with Lewis and Kilby kind of throwing Lewis under the bus and everything that's happening on Toka is the setup pretty much the next episode, which is interesting. >> Yeah. let's see what Jay says here. He says, "I don't think they rushed to the merge. Like I said earlier, they should have merged last episode or swapped to two tribes of seven to avoid a three-player tribal council." and I hear what you're saying, Jay. You know, I still, like I said, I just want to get a lot of these like similar to what Bandit said. I just want to get these rounds out of the way where we've got double eliminations before we get into like a merge situ situation.
37:49 I just know we're going to see like is it is it really a merge bandit when you go into a merge and you split back into two tribes or the three voting blocks? Like is that a merge? >> It's definitely not like all my negative videos were between Survivor 41 and 44 because they would take them, they would have merry, which is half the tribe voting and then you know yourself the next round they split them into two different tribes. It's like okay right so they're not actually merged on in either scenario. So again, it's not something I like. It's one of my pet peeves to be honest. I think they did the same in Survivor 50 where they got the 17 contestants together and they split them into three tribes and two went to exile and it's like this isn't even emerged at this point. You're actually ending up with more tribes than you actually started off with. So it's just insane. But again, Survivor seems to absolutely love this.
38:40 It's something that's carried on from the new era. So we can only hope it has some interesting dynamics. Yeah. >> And Jay says like he gets my point. I and I get your point as well. I do feel bad that we get these three player you know situations where they have to go to tribal council. The only thing I will say Jay as well probably again it points back to the fact that we just should have kept the two tribe format for longer. Like that's where we should have stayed. It would have given people a lot more runway. We could have had a couple of additional rounds before we get to the merge. It's both the fact that they didn't stay two tribes and the fact that we have got a 26 day game, which you know, even though I'm being a bit negative about some of these things, I'm still enjoying the season. I just want to be clear about it. I think there's a lot of great cast members this season that are making the show very entertaining to watch. And I want to talk about one of those cast members because there's no one better to talk about this person on the show than Bandit himself because he is Irish.
39:30 What is your take on the first ever Irish survivor US player to play the game? Are you enjoying what he is doing? Is he representing for the clan back home? >> I think this is just showing that we need Survivor UK finally revived. It's been three going to be four years now. We know how to play Survivor here. Like we don't have many people that watch the show, but the people that do watch the show, they're fierce and they're ferocious. Shout out to my man Deal as well, who I've played some orgs with. He is an Irish man that is very scary if you get on the wrong side of him. But again, Lewis, like he is just raising so much stock for Irish people and even people from the British Isles because like his gameplay, it's so fun. It's so infectious. This hopefully I'm not sounding too biased, but this is the person you want if you're a casting director. He almost doesn't even like I'm sure if he wins that's fun, but he just wants to go out there, create big moves, and have a legacy, which is great for entertainment.
40:28 He's I look at Lewis and I think to myself, he's the triple threat, right? He's got the looks, he's got the he's got the BMT, the big match temperament to make things happen out there, and he's got a little bit of that Irish swag, a little bit of that charm, you know, like. So, I think, you know, you can have two of them, but ultimately having three of them, that makes you a triple threat in my eyes. And I do like Lewis this season. Andre got a little bit of flack on one of our shorts where he compared him to Tony, saying the first British guy on a podcast and immediately we've got to compare him to Tony and it's coming from a British guy. Firstly, Andre is not British. He's Australian, so they got the accent wrong. But I don't think he's Tony level yet. Like I do think Andre is all in. But I love what I'm seeing with Lewis. I love what I'm seeing with Kilby as well. I think I mean both I credit both of them with actually following through in the previous episode.
41:19 Probably even more so Kilby cuz he was in a position where he could have played it safe if he wanted to. And then more than anything else, I also want to bring up justice for Maggie. We spoke about it. I think we were one of the few podcasts that actually really credited Maggie with the move last week, even more so than Lewis and Kilby who had to just follow through and follow the blueprint that she put out there. But she could have held on to a lot of what she had that ammunition, but she chose to give advantages to her allies. So, she's got numbers going into the merge. And this could be something that plays out massively in her favor when we get into the merge situation as she ends up on a split tribe after the merge and they have to vote together. I'm pretty sure they've they're going to have her back. What's your thoughts on Maggie? Apparently Maggie's been going at Jeff a little bit because even this episode I didn't see her get any credit for the move. >> Yeah, I was going to say like they made an Instagram post where like insanely they didn't even credit Maggie in the Instagram post.
42:13 It was like, "Oh yeah, Lewis and Kilby, they made this fantastic move and Maggie's in the comments section like, hang on, what's going on here?" So, I don't know. It's interest It makes me worry for Maggie if that's the situation that's happening. hopefully everything's okay because you've kind of frozen there on me. Am I okay? >> Yeah, you're good. >> Okay, perfect. but yeah, it's interesting because it's basically like someone equated to her hiring hitman. like she put the head out. She said it's Linnea. She gave them the advantages. And again, as you say, great on her for identifying that she can put her two votes together to make a 4-4 split and work on that. And again, you're not really going to be using your extra votes for many scenarios. It's a very niche advantage, so you might as well put them together and try and make something.
43:03 And again, having Lewis in this game, like I don't see a situation at the merge where Maggie goes before Lewis, in my opinion. Oh, >> I definitely can. I mean, Maggie is rubbing people the wrong way. And by that I mean rubbing Brady the wrong way. Dreadful Ruby is very happy that is happening, but I don't think it's good for her game, unfortunately, because I do think Brady still has some allies in the likes of Devin and Jelly who's going to come back. He seems to be making some inroads with Carter. How true that is with the two boys getting along. I don't know. And it was it was really funny seeing Maggie this episode. Like I mean I'm going to give all the credit from a strategic standpoint, but she doesn't seem to have the social aspect when we talk about triple threats. I don't think she's got that. and even this episode not wanting to partake in some of the shenanigans of the boys building the sling and swing not getting on it and trying to catch fish with the hammock to annoy Brady even further because he can't sleep on it.
44:02 Like I mean there's lots of red lights around Maggie, but I do want to give her flowers for that move. But again, great casting and they should be going all in on Maggie because these are the kind of players we want to see. I don't want to see a perfect player. I want to see flawed players on my screen so that I can laugh and enjoy and find some enjoyment. But perfect players are boring. >> Let's get those blue collar workers. I mean, it's we've been crying out for 5 years and finally they gave them to us. I did forget about that swing moment. Yeah, that wasn't great. And then her putting the hammock in the in the ocean. Okay, I did forget about that. But again, like I feel like Maggie is one of those kind of emotional boots. And I feel like yes, it's not great. I think that she I don't think she gets to the end at this point. But like surely you've got to go after like Lewis or Kilby like if you're want to take a big shot or a kill shot as Patt would say.
44:56 >> Kilby's got some enemies in the game. I mean they try to come for Kilby before the swap. he just survived and Patt ended up going home and you know the likes of Brady, Devin, Jelly, they're not going to forget. They're going to work with Sharonda. Eric is now against him. I can very easily see Kilby being one of the merge boots like very early in the merge. I think Lewis survives a couple of rounds still because he's got the charm. He's got that Irish charm. He can move around in the game and I think that we're going to see a like my thinking with Lewis is I just don't think he's winning it. But I think we're going to see a couple of big swings happening towards the end and he's going to be entertaining to watch. I actually thought of him like when Andre compared him to Tony, I compared him a little bit more to like a Rick Devens, a showman type of player in the game, which I think he can be. The only difference is that Rick Devens seems to burn bridges a lot quicker than Lewis and then it's his back against the wall and Lewis hasn't gone down that path.
45:51 I don't know if you can think of someone that's maybe a little bit more close to what Lewis's game has been this season. There's been a lot of unique players and maybe Lewis is playing a unique game, but I see I see Devens tendencies in him. He's an entertainer. I see the entertainer in him. >> Yeah, I mean I'm trying to think about I don't know like maybe like a Rizzo if you want to compare him to a new Europe player. I kind of got that vibe from him as well just in terms >> but I feel like he's better than Rizzo. >> Yeah. >> Like I like Rizzo, don't get me wrong, but the thing with Rizzo is no one likes Rizzo more than Rizzo. Like Rizzo talks himself up the big game all the time and I'm like >> are you actually are you actually doing all the things that you're telling the camera? Well, Lewis is definitely doing it. Like I feel like Lewis have had more big moments than Rizzo's had early on this season already. >> It's just this is this is my call here.
46:41 I feel like Lewis in the two in the one season he's played, he's had more bigger moments than Rizzo's had in his two seasons. >> That's what I was going to say. It's very hard to compare Lewis to another survivor contestant because what survivor contestant do you know basically went to exile, orchestrated a 65 vote on their first tribal council that they went to and then had a 44 tie deadlock that almost went to rocks at the second round of the game. Like it's >> but can I say something? Can I say something here also? Not to throw not to throw shade at Rizzo actually as well. I've got to I've got to give Rizzo some credit. I think Rizz's got it in him. I just don't think the format that he played in the two seasons he played allowed for it because he was playing in a sixperson tribe both times. And I've always said that six person tribes do not give you the ability to do the outstanding the crazy the like you said the six five vote like he never had that opportunity like the format kind of stifled him a little bit as well.
47:34 >> Exactly. Yeah. I don't know like I'm going through my mind. It's just very difficult to think. maybe like a Kelly Wentworth kind of like player like a male Kelly Wentworth but I don't know it's tough which is good it's good that we're not able to say this is like I remember when like we would go through the 30s and like Joe Mena would play and it's like okay that's a Tony light and then you would go a few seasons later and you would get other people you' be like okay like Warog okay that's a Tony light it feels like Lewis is his own unique character which is very good it's good casting >> yeah they used to have a couple of seasons with doctors and you have one doctor to the next doctor and you'd be like, "Oh, that's the same kind of character." I know exactly what you're saying. All the mom >> How many lawyers did we get in new era? Like, >> yeah. Lawyers that are all the same, you know, >> that all lied about their job. >> Yeah. yeah.
48:24 So, next episode, I think we spoke about that Kristin probably is the person that now has an opportunity to go after Sharonda. I don't think it's going to go early. I think she's Kristin's going to work with Sharonda and that alliance for a bit. She needs the numbers. But I do think Sharonda is in danger probably. if you had to choose right now, Bandit, the people that you think have got the best chance to win in the game. If you had to choose your top three, who do you have? Who do you think are playing the best game at the moment? The edit showing us for a reason that they're in the game and that you know, you know, these are these are the people you want to win. And I guess two here. Who's your top three that you think are going to win? And who's the three that you would like to win? And let's see if there's an overlap. I would say number one Sharonda because she's got helicopter alliance and also she's got that overlap kind of like a van diagram where she's also got her very close relationship with Kristin.
49:15 Number two then Kristin because of a lot of the reasons we talked about personal content and again like she's got that Denise Stley kind of energy to her where she just came into that new tribe and almost instantly she was able to flip the dynamics and it seems like either Mike or in this current episode Maggie would have went over her and then number three I would say kind of a wild card but again kind of good edgically I would say Lewis because he's getting a lot of content he's able to justify his moves. Again, do worry about his endgame potential, but he seems like somebody that I mean, if he gets to the end, I think he's currently the number one person to win. in terms of who I want to win the season, I would say it's probably quite similar. I would say the three that I stated would probably be the top four.
50:06 You could throw in Kilby there as well. And maybe like Sharonda would go from number one to number four. or Kilby would probably be the top one because that would be just insane. >> But yeah, it would be quite a few good people that' be good winners in my opinion. >> Yeah, I think I think you're right. I think Kristin shot [clears throat] up to number one for me this episode. She's probably right there as somebody that I think is going to win the season. I just think she's got the backstory. She's played it for so long. She clearly has the skills and understands the social game. So Kristin is up there for me. we didn't talk much about Mike, but it was really hilarious seeing Mike trying to suck up to her this episode and like he finally started getting more content, but he was being shown as being a bit more of a weasel like in the in the actual episode. I do feel bad for him because he's actually right in his read that they're coming. >> I've got to I've got to ask you because this is a big moment of contention.
50:57 Do you think Mike got a winner quote in this episode or do you just think it's kind of smoke and mirrors? What was the quote? >> Oh, it was basically, "If I don't go home tonight at this tribal council, I'll win the game." [sighs and snorts] >> Oh, spicy. I missed that. And he didn't go home. And why did they show it? Why did they show it? They didn't need to show it. >> Well, it's like it's like surely like I remember everyone ranting about Jem in episode two about she saying they should have take me out last episode. Now I'm going to win the game. So, and I know >> I know Survivor US don't want to acknowledge Australian Survivor. They absolutely hate it. But like as soon as we say the words PS confessional from episode one, you know what confessional I'm talking about. And like surely they're not going to repeat that again. It's not going to be too obvious hopefully.
51:49 >> Yeah. I think that again going back to Rizzo, he told us he was going to win the show so many times in 15 and didn't end up winning it. So I mean so it's possible that it's not happen. Yeah. >> Yeah. very trustworthy source. I just don't think Mike's got the edit for it. Like I just don't think he's had the edit. I don't think like he's being shown in such a negative light. Like it would it would be a crazy win and I'm here to watch it. Like I would love to see someone like him get out of the bottom where he is right now and work his way up to the top almost like Chris Daugherty style in Venuatu to get to the end and somehow win. I just don't think he's got the chops. I just don't see it, you know? So I'm going to say no to that. But going back to the top three, I've got Kristin probably as my number one to win the season. I'll put Lewis in there as well with you because of the fact that the edits followed him around. Like I just think that he does have an outsiders chance and he definitely would be an exciting person to win the season.
52:41 And then probably I don't know. I people are very high on Sharonda and she's got good reads and things like that. But because Kristin can take her out, get the idol, I think I'm going to bump her out of the top three as potential winners at this stage. I'll probably go with Devin to annoy people. I'll put him in there as someone that cuz he's been he's been getting a big edit from the start. He knows he needs to take out Jelly at some stage. he's still got alliance members in the likes of Brady and that side that he can work with when he actually gets together. We've seen some of his alliance members and maybe for once we'll get someone who's a truth teller, an honest person who shoots it straight in tribal council winning the season and it could change the way that people play Survivor. He could be the open era Ethan Zohn playing an honorable and trustworthy game and get to the end and win the whole thing. But now if you ask me who would I like to win this season, I think Lewis would be a phenomenal winner.
53:34 You've now got me on the Mike train. I want to see the unpredictable. Let this guy get rise from the ashes, come from the bottom, turn everything around to get to the end and win the show. And then lastly, Maggie. I mean, Maggie winning this season will be glorious. like [laughter] it just we have to see it. We have to see it now that she's made the big moves. I just think I'm always there for chaos. Bandit. The more chaotic the winner, the more I love it, to be honest with you. This is why I'm a big Tony fan. >> She has got the premerge adversity now with this episode with her using the hammock to try and catch fish. So, it's all there for. I mean, she's got consistent content, so maybe she might be able to get past that target. You never know. >> Yeah. Yeah. You again I got I got shades of Tony when she ran into the water with the hammock and it reminded me of when he caught the shark, you know, like it was almost identical.
54:27 >> I think that was the only thing she was going to end up catching with that hammock because th those squares are like that big. Like they're half the size of like a human [clears throat] head. It was ridiculous. And the funniest thing of all, speaking about Mike, is Mike is so at the bottom that he has to entertain it and he has to go out there with her and pretend like he's into it because he's like, I can't afford to piss off Maggie. I need all the allies I can possibly get in the game. It was so funny to see. do you feel like we missed anything? Is there anything you wanted to talk about that happened this episode that we didn't get to talk about? >> Yeah, I wasn't 100% sure about them swapping into two tribes. Have they been released? What the two tribes are or do we know yet? So for swapping into two tribes that merge. >> Yes. >> I actually have no idea. I don't know if anybody in the live Dreadful Ruby or Jay if you know if that content's out there.
55:18 Maybe if you look online there might be something about it >> because that would be that would be very interesting. and for people who don't want to see it >> don't want to get spoiled, you might want to drop off at this stage. But thank you for joining us and please subscribe to the channel if you like the content. We want to continue to do this for a very long time. It's been great being back on YouTube talking about Survivor Checkout. Also, the Survivor Nullified Take channel, which is a new it's a new website that we've created. So, if you go to the website, it's got plenty of content here. Nullified Take channel. You've got all of our videos that have been released. You've got the short clips there. You can go to Spotify, you can watch on YouTube, as well as if you go to Survivor 51, it tells you who's been voted out of the game, how many players are left in the game, who's in what tribe.
56:08 This will be updated next week, what order they've been voted out on, and much more. So, go check the channel out, the nullified take.com. also, please check out my friend's channel. we've shown it earlier, but we might just go back and go into it again. Bandit Survivor. He does great content as well here on YouTube. Make sure to check him out. plenty of content about Old School Survivor. And also, if you're liking what he was talking about here today on the Nullified Take channel, go check out his shorts. I mean, everybody's got 30 to 60 seconds. How long's your shorts, Bandit? >> yeah, they're about usually a minute or so. H I remember the time in YouTube when they used to go up to a minute, so about sometimes I push it to a minute and a half. I think that's generally kind of what I'm going for at this stage. >> Everybody have a minute and a half of their day to go and check out some of Bandit's hot takes on this season.
57:03 But yeah, do you have any info there for us on who's going to be in what tribe in the next >> Oh, I have looked it up. Oh, I'll have to >> That's You had one job, Bandit. You had one job while I was like filling the blanks the blank time there. [laughter] >> H right, I'll look it up here. you tell me. Let's say if say Dina go back to tribal council, right? So there's five people on the Dina tribe. Who do you think gets voted out? >> Yeah, I that's why I wanted it to last for one more episode for us to be able to see who potentially would be going to trial or who would be going out because the big power battle would have been between Kilby and Eric and Cristian and Sharonda. Who would get Eric? Kilby felt very confident that he could persuade Eric to come back to him and he had that angle of this is what I do for my friends and Eric is like I understand it and you did the right thing but I'm still so annoyed and betrayed by you that I can't come along with you on this journey moving forward.
58:02 So it looked like Eric was going to go for Kilby. but what I found really interesting is that even Cristian started talking to Kilby and Lewis at that moment. So, I think that there was an opportunity here for Cristian to potentially cut someone like Eric in the game who is quite erratic and maybe somebody that he didn't want to work with going into the merge. So, ultimately, I think if I had to make a decision, I think Eric could have found himself out of the game if Cristian ended up swapping over to Kilby and Lewis. it felt like Cristian, Eric, and Sharonda were very shaky. Sharonda and Eric probably being a bit more closer together with Cristian being the swing vote, maybe jumping over to Kilby and Lewis. That's sort of what I thought maybe would have happened. Did you find anything there, Bandit? >> No, I even used AI to search it for me. I can't say. Has it been confirmed that they're swapping into two tribes or is it >> I think it's merge, but maybe after the merge they swap back into two tribes to vote people out.
58:55 And that's my me speculating. it's good. It's good that there's no info out there about that because that means that the season is unspoiled and I'm actually quite enjoying the fact that there's no spoilers out there. I have heard I have I don't check out spoilers, but I have heard from people that there aren't really any spoilers for the season, which is good because you always find the kind of spoilers get their way into different things like the edg community or the survivor community. Like how many people had Tiffany as their Survivor 41 winner pick that was a edge or a survivor spoiled winner and then they went to Shan and then it was like, "Oh no, Erica. We all knew it was Erica all along." So yeah, it's kind of interesting that aspect that again this might be one of the very few seasons that hasn't got a winner spoiled or hasn't really had many of the dynamic spoiled. That's good. Fingers crossed continues. >> So I think the other only other question I was going to ask you is do you think that we're on the right track here with open air?
59:52 Are you feeling positive like that the producers are listening to some of the things that the fans have been talking about, chatting about, even though Jeff is picking battles with the fandom quite a bit in the season? You know, he's it's almost like we're dragging him, kicking and screaming down a certain direction, but it does feel like, you know, maybe someone in Sundance, somebody in Paramount is actually having conversations with Jeff down at the back saying, "Hey, you need to pull it back in. You need to do a couple of things for the fans here. You can't just have it all your way." It's funny you mentioned that about Jeff. I heard I heard one thing about Survivor 52. Do you want me to say it to you or do you want me to not? >> Yeah, as long as it's as long as it's if it's a twist spoil, that's fine. If it's not people being voted out, I don't care. >> Okay. Apparently, Survivor 52 starts with three tribes. >> Jeez. >> I think that tells you everything I need to know about Jeff.
1:00:42 >> Jeff is so tonedeaf. He's so tonedeaf. >> again, that's what I've apparently heard, but >> yeah. Okay. Well, I hope that person's wrong. It's the same person who said that Tiffany was going to be the winner of Survivor 41, and we've got some hope. We can keep. >> but in terms of Survivor 51, I think, as you say, they've been kicking and screaming to get some of these twists, like the two tribe format. It's nice to see actual war challenges that aren't tacked on with going to an island or a visit. It feels like this time five years ago, every single twist had to have an advantage tacked on to have its validity reassured. But it's good now that we're getting those kind of twists that are just very surface level and don't have always lose your vote or gain a vote attached to it. The idols being another really good one. And I think they've been getting a bit more confident with the 90-minute format which is very good.
1:01:36 I am a bit worried for the future because we do know the Mr. beast mega beware coin toss advantage is hanging in the air not just for this episode or this season should I say but it'll be for the foreseeable future now and I'm not really sure how they're going to make a coin toss interesting for all those different seasons and again you could have like a pot of $3 million say for example someone flips the coin and they don't get anything they get weird out they don't get immunity they don't get the three million Not that is something that scares me for the future. >> Yeah. Yeah. It should be they should be saying whoever flips the coin is guaranteed to come back next season and play back [laughter] to back seasons or something like there needs to be like something additional on it. But I'm with you on that. I'm a little bit nervous about that as well. Bandit, it's been great talking to you here on the channel. Thank you so much, my friend, for coming on last minute.
1:02:28 It's been great catching up with you. Thank you to the live audience for being here, Jay and Dreadful Ruby, who've been asking questions and being very active throughout the episode today. next week I believe it's 50/50 on if I'll have Andre on. So I might even go back to Bandit or I go back to someone else and see if we can get someone to come back on. If you had fun Bandit, we'd always have you back. Thank you so much, my friend. And everybody in the channel, please subscribe to Bandit's channel. Please subscribe to the nullified take channel. Leave a comment below. Let us know what you agree and disagree with.
