0:00 Oh and we are back with Day 26 of Survivor 46 and 46 we just watched Cochran when fans versus favorites 2 in a season that as everyone that has been listening to this for the last however many days knows has a lot of revisionist history and we're going to touch about we're going to touch on all of that as we go through this first we have Mony from the nullified T take making his a first appearance on this part of the channel maky thank you so much for your support over the last few days or last few weeks and your comments here and there yeah it's like I've been trolling in the comments and I've made my way onto actual podcast so woohoo I could do it in person and then we have the man the myth of Legend from the LRG Community we have Alex back his first time since Amazon which was 20 days ago Alex thank you so much for coming back for this a season that isn't good but I think there is Merit to it and I think that Merit comes from the Ken vote to the Eric evacuation I think that if you just watch this season and you just watch those boots

1:20 Those episodes are actually a lot of fun and I and I want to we're going to kind of work backwards with this because I do want to talk about that final three Everyone likes to [ __ ] about bitter juries and oh well Russell Hansen win because the jury was so upset with them and all this other stuff I don't believe that I think that's [ __ ] I think a jury can be bitter and still vote for the right person in this situation I think that Cochran yeah fine give the win to Cochran these people were so pissed off with Dawn and for years i' I've tried to figure out why and I think it's because she cried like she did a lot of stuff she was the dictating a lot of stuff that was going on but I think the crying part is what really rubbed them the wrong way so just starting with this first mcky we're going to start with you what were your views on Dawn this season the first time you watched and any other subsequent times that you've watched since then yeah so fun fact this was the second American Survivor season I had ever seen I remember like you know I was still in high school I was just watching the season on my study breaks and see like the like the three MOS of the idols I was like oh my gosh this is blowing my Survivor mind you get what I mean who thought something like this could happen and with Dawn when I first watched it yeah

2:40 I was a bit like when she blindsided Brenda was like oh that was kind of a an ass move like you get what I mean like so that's so horrible and so when it came to final trouble council at first I was a little bit team brinder but also cuz I was just loving what was happening like you know when has ever been on R someone trying to force someone to rip their teeth out you get what I mean it was so funny and so my first opinion of dwn was like he a bit you know nasty and stuff like that but on a rewatch just like actually she played a pretty good game and I think was just because of the era of Survivor at the time just didn't really appreciate that Mak sense what da did Alex yeah oh my impression of dawn I mean I thought Don was a great player and I felt like yeah the vote at the end it was a little lops at I think I feel like Cochran was the rightful winner I felt like he played the best game I felt like I felt like Dawn deserved some votes but I feel like a lot of people were upset at dawn because Dawn maybe she was great at getting these

4:00 Like really emotional connections to people and I think a big reason Cochran won is because of Da and Don was able to get close to people on a really personal level and then when Don and Cochran both betrayed them they always just felt more burned by Dawn because of because of the relationship that they had and yeah I can understand that and it's like it's part of how to navigate Survivor is like yeah you're you can't take everyone to the end and you're going to have to cut some people and the trick is can you cut people but still find a way to have them not be too upset and to get them back at the end to not fully ruin that relationship and it's a constant juggling act and I think Dawn was maybe more focused on doing what she had to do to get to the end than maintaining those relationships to get the votes at the end which is yeah but I still think she played a good game I don't know what do you think yeah so watching it this time I looked at her as almost like a Sarah Lucen in Game Changers where that jury was pissed off at Sarah because they felt like she took

5:21 Advantage of the emotional and social relationships that they had with them to put her in that situation and they just at that point they I feel like they did respect her game more than Cole Pepper and troyan but like here I feel like da did the exact same thing where she is making these emotion real I felt like they were real emotional and social connections with people knowing full well I've got to cut these people and she even says it here you know I feel like everyone is looking at me as the villain here and Michael snow and Michael snow and someone else I think maybe Andrea they both say hey I feel like Dawn's getting a lot of unnecessary hate Dawn why do you think that you're getting this hate and Cochran isn't when you two were working together and I do feel like if she sat at the end next to Eddie and Sherry I feel like she would have won the game because it did feel like there were a few jurors that were trying to give her credit but just were so annoyed at the fact that she used like I don't think she was crying to manipulate people I think she was just an emotional person but I feel like people were so tired of the crying that they were more willing to give it to Cochran because he was so mild mannered

6:41 Mcky you shook your head you think do you think that Eddie in that final three I think Eddie wins an any final three I think just his story and how he got to the end he only voted correctly two times and it was because he was on the right side of an idol plate right and I just think he's got Malcolm who's obviously quite influential as well you got Reynold there as well I rean Andrea could even like vote for him as well and so I think there are numbers there to vote for Eddie and as got mentioned dor really did burn some bridges on the jury and so I think someone like a Brenda would vote for Eddie over Dawn and that's already half the jury that's not a crazy okay Alex do you do you agree well I think if kagan's not on the final three then that means Cochran's on the jury and I think Cochran would be a big advocate for her on the jury and I think some people could potentially vote for Dawn as a vote for Cochran because maybe they wanted to vote for Cochran I don't think Eddie played a good game I don't think he had respect I think he probably would have gotten votes listen I don't always agree with the winners of Survivor so it could have been a season where I didn't agree with the winner of Survivor and it could have been Eddie for all I know but I feel like it definitely

8:01 Should have been Dawn in that final three that scenario if that scenario happened and I do think Cochran would have helped to make it happen and I think Andrea would have yeah I think there are people who voted for Cochran who if Cochran wasn't there Don was definitely their second choice and Eddie yeah I don't think he would have got no votes but you know and as much as people would love to see a dog bar I just don't think that was enough of itself and we have this comment here Malcolm said he'd vote for Dawn if she didn't do the teeth thing and that is the big thing of this specific t Tribal Council final Tribal Council of the Brenda moment now obviously earlier in this in the season dawn has a real moment where you know she's lost her teeth and she has her retainer and she has Brenda to go down and get it and she says yeah you know this is this makes me really good with Brenda blah up until this moment I loved Brenda in Survivor history I loved her in Nicaragua even though she was more of a villain but whatever I love spots of that season yes and then caramon even though she is under edited I like the moments that she had they were a lot of fun moments her face during the Andrea Blind Side was amazing I liked

9:21 Brenda until this point and at this point she turned into a lot of these former players that don't understand the game where it's like oh man you she was so upset over a moment like that she just neglected everything else and was just like no I'm I'm pissed off at you because of this thing and it bothered me more than anything else more than Eric and Sherry which was a lot of fun we'll talk about that Brenda feeling so hurt by her specific Blindside even though she was one of the main factors in Andre getting blindsided earlier in the game was so hurt by Dawn that she made her she put her in a situation where she embarrasses herself on national TV monkey I know you said that when you when you first watched this you thought it was funny interesting I don't remember the exact word yeah I was laughing off as youve watched it more and more do you do you still find it funny or do does it make you uncomfortable oh I mean look like you know for people who is a regular like gab for example and the another I take will know that I literally laugh at everything right like it doesn't matter how weird or how out there it is I will be cracking

10:41 Up in the corner and so every time I rewatch it I still keep laughing not because like it's a good thing but it's just because I've never seen A Moment Like This on reality TV where you're asking someone to pull out your teeth to like Pro that like you know their Blind Side on them was worth it you get what I mean and yeah like that's just my personal thoughts on it okay Alex fairell yeah oh I did not laugh at it I thought it was very uncomfortable and uncalled for and yeah it's not one of the moments that you look back fondly on in Survivor yeah I wish someone if Brenda when she was telling people like what she was planning to do at final tribal I wish someone was like hey maybe don't do that yeah I don't know I understand her being hurt but you know what they say like hurt people hurt people and she was feeling all this pain and she's like she wants you know Dawn to feel some of the pain and I just think that's not the way to go like it's okay you were hurt you can tell her you were hurt but don't yeah don't do that to her just don't make it worse and

12:01 Yeah I yeah I you know Brenda I also like you were saying Andrew I was a fan of Brenda as well and you know this moment shouldn't you know Define who Brenda is you know I'm sure she's still great but it but it is it was it was a very negative thing and yeah I don't know if she's apologized for it I haven't really heard from Brenda since but yeah I would be surprised if she looked back on that and was like yeah that was a good thing to do well I and I compared Brenda speech one to a season that we're gonna get to later with Kagan with Trish and Tony and then the other one oh my goodness I'm blanking it's a season that I've already watched where I can't remember but we'll just go Trish with Tony where it's like they're oh and Abby Maria and Denise in Philippines where it's like these people are very C very clearly pissed off at things that happen in the game with you and in those two situations those two people still voted for the eventual winner here Brenda is saying all this stuff and you think oh if Dawn does this she'll probably vote for Brenda will probably vote for Dawn and Don will still lose

13:22 But you know she'll still vote and then Brenda still votes for Cochran and once again it just kind of everything that I don't know who was here at this point but when Brenda showed up I'm was like oh God here we go because it just every time I we watch the season you know you have the brand enhan stuff and then you have this and both these moments more than anything else like really leave a bad taste in my mouth because if you remove those things this season is fine this season's fine to me like it's whatever it's very dark ages because those two things happen it really brings it sucks the air out of it's very much like the double quit in Nicaragua where it's like okay Nicaragua is just gabone on steroids until that moment and here it's like okay fans versus favorites 2 is not really fans or favorites and then we have the brand enhanced stuff but then we get a bunch of blind sides at the merge which is very Philippines adjacent and then we get to the finale where it's like okay yeah Cochran's probably going to win this is kind of boring and then we get to final tribal where Sherry you guys are favorites and we're fans and it's like what are you talking about and

14:42 Then we get to the Brenda moment and it just and then we get to the reunion where the fans are s or the Prem mergers plus Karen are sitting you know in the audience because they're trying to hey don't please don't remember the brand enhan stuff question how do you feel about the confrontation between Eric and Sher at final tribal one two did Eric have a right to be upset to try embarrass Sher well two yes he has a right to do anything like he's you are all right or not all right with anything that happens in the game as far as the first question I want to get you guys' opinions on this first because I do have thoughts about it and it's because of how I've been watching the season Alex we'll start with you okay I don't fully remember that but what I do remember in the first fans were his favorites when I think Eric was like super mad in his jury speech maybe to Amanda and then he voted for Amanda like that might just be Eric's thing of like in his mind he's like what you're supposed to do at tribal is like be mean I don't know it's because also why would Eric even be mad at anyone like he didn't voted out right it doesn't make any sense I guess he's just

16:02 Jealous because he wanted that spot in the final three I but he can't even be mad at her about it I don't know I don't know what Eric's thinking a lot of the time Mony about that yeah sorry yeah no I mean once again I found it pretty funny like I mean like I do feel bad for sure cuz I do think pre swap she was playing a fantastic game and then she did what she needed to do doing the to try and survive I do think she would have been in a lot of trouble especially still survived but post merge onward what was she doing where was she going was her plan on winning didn't really have one she just pretty much fled to the end and so I understand been frustrated especially with the way he exited as well I understand why Eric could have been bit frustrated just in general but yeah as always I just laugh for it and Alex you brought up what I was going to bring up because watching it like this 10 seasons ago I watched Eric so 10 days ago I watched Eric go after Amanda at final tribal and I remember sitting there like that like okay yeah I understood why he was going after Amanda in that situation because he did kind of feel gaslit by Amanda with everything

17:22 Going on that round I and like you said he still he still votes for Amanda and it's all fine he here we get basically the same Eric at that at final tribal from Micronesia but he's directing it at Sherry who in this situation like Mony said really hadn't done at least from what we're shown really hadn't done anything since pre- Swap and all of a sudden he's chosen her as the person that he's going to go after and yes I do agree maybe he felt like that could have been his spot if he hadn't been removed from the game because at final five there's a very big chance that Eric just wins out there like it's very possible that Eric wents out because he's established in two seasons of the game that he can be a challenge Beast there's the one challenge this season he blows out everyone I think it was the Andrea vote out round that he just blows out everyone in the challenge so it might be that yes he votes for Cochran but I thought it was a little weird that he was going after sh because even if he had gone after it would have made I guess more sense in that situation because he does have words for Dawn he does say I couldn't believe that you blindsided Brenda during that round Alex you look like I was also gonna

18:42 Say what's also weird about it is I felt like Sherry is actually the player that Eric played the game most like he's so mad is there's some self-hatred there because I feel like they were both sort of doing nothing and sort of both just sort of flowing going with the flow and it's so weird that he's so mad at her and I'm like it's episode where both of them I what oh my goodness I think it might be the Three Amigos tribal or maybe the tribal right beforehand where both of them have confessionals where they say people don't realize that I'm actually in control of the game it's like well from what we're being shown no like it could have been that could have actually been the case out there but were being shown that's not the case and the fact that they had both of them say either in the same episode or back to back we're actually running the game is it's funny that because I've never actually thought about that they were both basically playing the exact same game and it's ironic because I said before we went live before you got into the waiting room that I think there is a chance that Eric wins the game depending on who he's sitting next to and I think that and this is G against what monkey said earlier but I think

24:04 Be in good shape I someone that wasn't mentioned that I don't know if I was a fan of her necessarily as it was airing but I met in real life and she's great is Ally who was out in the second and she actually is a real fan of Survivor and she was a big fan of big brother and she's now working as like a casting director for reality TV but she actually really she was a fan her edits not great I don't think people will Mily watch and be like Oh Allie's great but she had so much potential that we didn't get to see and it really is a bummer that she went out when she did and also I was a fan of Michael snow he wasn't mentioned really yeah I think he's a smart guy and he sort of it was sort of unfortunate how he went out although I love that episode and I think I'll say now the episode where Michael snow goes out we it's we could debate it but I think it's Andrea's best episode best move in every season she's been in because I really think she was in trouble and she made that happen Michael snow and they well it's not like he was a big threat but it was the smartest move for her to save herself because he was the least likely to play an idol the safe person that round yeah it was the smartest

32:05 Of Cochran now I when I did the South Pacific pod I said I felt like Cochran was a fun character that season I didn't really need to see Cochran 2.0 but you know it's fine I felt like this season he gets a lot of credit for like historically he gets a lot of credit for Stuff that happens this season that he's not actually responsible for you know even in the edit it's not like I have inside information was actually going on just in the edit Cochran does seem like he's just kind of going along with a lot of and that's not that's not knocking his game all because I think he played extremely well but I think history much like parvy and in Micronesia and much like Kem in one world history will say it was Cochran versus 19 people that had no idea how to play the game which is not true is that what history says I haven't heard yeah I interact with a lot of casuals sadly and the Casual this is like Jeff wouldn't oh people on the street people on the street I don't think Cochran would say that either I don't think and maybe people just who don't watch the season if they just look at the vote because it's like technically you could call it a perfect game that he had no votes against

33:25 Him and then he got all the votes at the end but that like that's a technical perfect game but he didn't play a perfect game but he did play really well but it also wasn't a game that he was controlling the whole time but I also want to give him maybe not as much credit as some of these casuals are giving him but more credit but maybe you're just being like Devil's Advocate a little bit very active winner and he did control a lot of votes and I would say he's more active than our most recent wins winner Kenzie who I still like Kenzie but yeah she even admitted at tribal that she didn't control like any of the votes like directly but I think Cochran did do that but I think he also admits that he was very much part of a team and some votes he was more involved in than others but I still think he played a great game absolutely oh yeah I I mean I agree I think that Cochran is a is a great is a great winner whatever that means and I think that BEC as I continue to go through this as I watch the seasons I just have these the casuals in like Survivor history in my ear saying stuff that once again I keep going back to Micronesia in one world where for years it's like oh yeah it was parvy and the rest of the Black Widow Brigade and it was Kim bradin

34:45 And a bunch of other women that were just following her lead it's like no both of those situations are not actually what is being portrayed to us on the show and then here yeah I feel like Cochran is great because yes he knows how to take a back seat his name really only gets brought up during the first swap vote where either Julia or Michael snow or maybe Matt one of the three of them want to go after Cochran and they're like no let's go after Dawn instead and that's really the only time that we really hear his name until like late in the merge and I think that's a testament to the fact that people were not looking at him as a thread even though people always look at the physical aspect of the game as like threatening and this man is out here winning challenges and people are still like oh no Reynold and Malcolm and Eddie they're all the generic white guys that are strong and everything we need to go after them it's like well no if you're going based off of challenge performance and reality it's actually this guy this time around and I think that because he it's it's almost tonyes from winners at War where Tony would make a move he'd get in the background he'd win immunities

36:05 He'd go into the background and no one ever paid attention to him here Cochran wins immunities or makes a move goes into the background lets these other people you know be in front of a an alliance where the figurehead is Philip Shepard and everyone thinks that the actual leader is Andrea belky but in reality you know yeah they could that could be the case but Cochran is still there and you guys are still forgetting him as a player how do you think T Cochran was able to navigate you know this Alliance that is full of a lot of characters I would say yeah well I think I think a lot of it is his personality already I think I think he's he's very funny and self-deprecating and I think everyone who was put on the cast with him was just very much drawn to his personality and very excited to meet him and excited to play with him and it was it's really interesting that even every time like yeah he wins a challenge or anything everyone's so happy for him and it's like it's so crazy that you know like I felt like secretly people were rooting for cochan to win the game like they like I don't know you could compare it maybe a little bit
