0:01 And welcome back to day 21 of Survivor 46 and 46 I apologize for the delay the 30 minute delay it's been a long day folks I finally like I know I said I hit the wall when I watch gabone but like this time around it was it was rough Nick Raga is not good and I had I did everything in my power to like keep on watching and it just it was hard but anyway we're joined today by Mark from Silent podcast last time that I did this we had mark one for both Thailand and okay spoilers this is still going to be higher than Thailand this time around too and I like and I feel I feel weird because when I watched Thailand I was like okay well at least Nicaragua Redemption island South Pacific are just boring and this time around it's like man I wish there was something problematic for me to at least something problematic that happened this season because it's just it's I mean nanka is problematic on her own but like it's nothing that it's like it's nothing that it's oh man that leaves a bad taste in my mouth it's just like it's not offensively bad it's not an offensively

1:21 Bad season it's a no it's just boring like bad so as some people know I am a defender of the season I chose this season because I do find this to be a funny season and it is one of those rare Seasons where all the horrible people are gone by episode three really like I mean like what Shannon's like really the only hor like only horrible like holy crap this a bad human being are you gay dude what's Happening Here how is that guy exists in 2010 like but like doubl down during the reunion so yeah well I mean what I like about the season though it's a season of mistakes like it's a complete like almost everything that happens this season I feel like is a mistake and they either give up on like Medallion of power or casting is a mistake and yeah I'll give you that I mean like I am a defender of the season I don't think Fabio is a great winner I think Fabio is a nice winner which that's a big difference he's very sweet and I think Fabio for a person that votes wrong most of the Season isn't enjoyable character yeah he's a very sweet and that's the thing is like knowing Fabio wins much like what I've been doing this time around with paying attention

2:41 To Winners that don't get the best edits I tried my best to watch this time around is like okay Fabio content and yes he is portrayed as a fool and there's a couple times where he like he says that he is he's definitely going in on playing the fool like you know it's hard to play he has a one he's talking to benry I believe and he's like it's very hard playing stupid all the time and I'm like okay cool like that is something that shows okay this man is not actually a fool yeah he's probably aloof you know the Marty thing and being the chess master and all that it's like okay yeah I can buy that Bobby probably bought that most people will probably buy that unless they know either the man that Marty mentioned or just no chess master in general yes Bobo's never going to be high on anyone's list but what I like I feel like the way that it's always portrayed is like Fabio's just he's so horrible as a winner it's like okay relax like he's not it's not problematic yeah he wins immunities and Everyone likes him with the exception of nanka so like and naona votes for him yeah else is not like I feel like Chase is a likable person but he [ __ ] up a lot

4:01 Sash I feel like is probably a good person but he's also not the nicest in Survivor no yeah and it's sash was sash was a pretty good player this season like there's like four people in the season Chase was a good player thisas there's like four people in the season I would love to watch play Survivor again like dead serious like at least four people like I want like sash Chase Marty [ __ ] pambo who is we'll talk about Marty God got especially this time around Marty ain't it Marty ain't it and I guess we could go right into Marty first because can we wait I want just talk about first about so I feel like what I love one of the things I love about the season so much like I feel like I always see these edits of like the first confessional for the winner and it's always like I'm gonna fight hard because I've always fought hard in my life or like or something interesting like that the first confessional for Fabio is just talking about monkeys yeah he's adorable fio is the most adorable winner that we ever had we're GNA start we're gonna start with Marty and I feel like the reason we're gonna start with Marty one because you brought it up two because we have a comment and three because historically people when they whenever people think about Nicaragua especially

5:22 The super fans are like oh man Mar pambo such a great player such a great player Mari pambo is not a great player at all Marty is good compared to his tribe Marty is good compared to that tribe Marty's good compared to yeah anyone on this season but like Marty in general is not a good player all this season everything that he does is like that doesn't make any sense and I feel like so great people like people have to look at like try to look for positives with this like oh Marty was trying to be strategic it's like yeah Marty was trying to be strategic the problem is Marty wasn't the there's a two three episode story arc after the swap so after they get rid of after they get rid of Jimmy T and he's sitting there saying oh yeah it's me and Jill and we're running everything and like we're on the Mountaintop and nothing can happen in this game to make anything like to change that and then we get the swap obviously and then all of a sudden he's being you know coerced by you know Brenda and sash and to the point where he sits

6:42 There and he's confused why he's confused that no one from not NPA the other one oh lafl yeah said oh yeah they have the who's like oh that's crazy I can't believe they would ever do that because I me being Marty Pano I told everyone that I have the Idol because I'm a mastermind and I'm going to tell all the people that I have the idol and so he's telling everyone on Swap whatever one he ended up on oh yeah guys I have the idol and Brenda has a great confessional she's like I don't give a [ __ ] like why are you doing this I don't understand the Marty hype that has like that surrounds the season om Marty's the greatest player to play on this season when he's just it's just one after the other just bumble oh yeah sash wants my idol so like yeah I should just give it to him because I either I'm gonna play it or I'm gonna give it to sash it's like then just play it then that's I don't understand so Mark as a Marty truther I guess what is it about Marty so I think it's more about like how much of a mess ESP spot is from the

8:02 Jump like and how excited they are to have Jimmy Johnson who definitely colors the season so much long he's like Jimmy Johnson's like galinsky for the season where he's not there that long but you feel him throughout the season like because like this is like towards the end of the time of like man we need a leader for our tribe and Jimmy Johnson that's what he does he's great at that like he's an amazing coach and like everyone like I mean he talks Holly who's actually I think one of the people that's like one of the better players in the season from quitting on day five and like and like that is a very important thing in her story and also his story in the game and like I just like can we just talk about the chaotic nature of the asot tribe in general so there's like four was the only sane person on that tribe and I ain't saying much but I related to Tyrone for besides obvious reasons I related to Tyrone like okay so there's four guys that want to be leaders on that tribe Jimmy Johnson who like is like I'm a coach I'm the leader Jimmy T who oh my God what a great last episode for him yeah then like you know like once Jimmy T's gone like Marty's like okay I can finally be the leader of my evil plans are working right now I'm gonna be the best oh my God it's G be great and then like of course

9:22 The tribe swap happens and he kind of getss [ __ ] over in the like honestly like we're gonna go deep into Marty like I have like love for this man well this is the Marty segment so like there's also Tyrone who's like you know who does an okay job trying to be a leader but like he doesn't have the numbers and then he's screwed so soon like it's like insane how everyone is obsess the idea of being a leader in like this mid era time of Survivor yeah I if I was a Survivor I want to be like everyone's friend and that's about it that it was weird the way that like that was like the main story line of the spot Wendy Joe goes home and all of a sudden like who's the real leader here I don't want Jimmy Johnson here because he's a he's a coach and Jimmy T Jimmy T is yeah doing his thing we got Marty saying oh I don't we don't need Jimmy Johnson here it's just why do you guys this isn't Samoa where you need a you need to wear a necklace to say that you're the leader of the tribe this is Nicaragua where you just need a medallion power which we will talk all about later I don't understand why people were so gung-ho and actually no I do have an idea why so when I did the gabone podcast I asked the folks

10:42 That were on there what does it mean to be a recruit because in the gabone recap episode they show everyone's audition videos knowing full well that Gabon is mostly recruit heavy right it's like right Bob was so like what does it mean to be a recruit and Nicaragua is the same way it's like all of these people clearly don't know what this game is because no like there's no way you can convince me that anyone on this season besides maybe Jimmy Johnson actually knows what survivor is because and the only reason I say Jimmy Johnson is because we know you know outside the game that Jimmy Johnson was a fan yeah you know he was supposed to be on I think he supposed to be on gabone so like we know that Jimmy Johnson is a fan but everyone else here it's like you don't I tweet I texted this to you earlier yeah where I said gabone is like the cartoon or the spoof version of what survivor is supposed to be about and necar Raga is a spoof of gabone because these people just they're just they don't get it and it just nothing makes sense all season like I said the reason I love the season is because everything goes wrong it's a season where everything goes wrong like yeah I mean like let's

13:22 Because like there are people like Jimmy T who you were never going to reign in who like Jimmy T is [ __ ] bat [ __ ] in like great TV way and like Wendy Joe as mentioned earlier is like perfect first boot like it's just like give like I love my first boot being some I can remember like I don't remember much from myy Joe because you know like it's I know Wendy Joe had an alliance with Holly and that's pretty much all I remember oh and that she had the confession where her brother said that he she talks too much yeah but like I like get like I'm the fan of like the Zay nights of the world you know like the people are like holy crap that's a great one episode Arc I told to chinsky I'm like dude you're might be a one episode character but you're a good one episode character you remember and you're like yeah but yeah I'm sorry I no no don't worry I think that the twist the problem is that they have nobody in their 30s I think they go it's 30 and below and then everyone over 40 and above that sounds right yeah so all of a sudden you're just missing like this big 10year time gap of folks that you could have on the season and like yes Eve was hot but also like Eve was actually one of the people that actually I feel like was playing it pretty well

14:42 And that's why she gets voted out when it's between her and Dan and they vote on Eve because she's playing harder and it's like do you understand that if the tribal stage stays Dan is such a liability and that next episode where they have to do the one where they have to jump off of the and throw the ball in the net Bobo P pees in the pool and Dan can't he can't jump Dan can't jump these people so many stupid decisions in this season I don't get it Dan limpo is such a was rip the God yes oh my God like holy [ __ ] that guy like I think we're brushing over one of the most fascinating plot twists in the in the whole season that Holly destroys his shoes I think in episode one and like and then they never talk about it until like he's until voted out you destroyed my shoes and Barefoot is he just barefoot no I think I think it's because he does have he does have tennis shoes out there he does have like Talon shoes out there but also why are you bringing $1600 shoes cuz he's a [ __ ] Godfather like I don't understand what this is all about but

18:43 Other than oh the first episode we're going to start with a race and the first person to get to The Medallion of power we don't know what type of power is going to be but like it's trust us this is good [ __ ] like we're this is going to be a big deal and The Medallion of power is not a big deal at all because I do feel like at least for me if I'm on a tribe I'm not trying to like unless I know that we are going to lose this challenge if we don't play it I'd rather keep it because I'd rather keep it than giving the other side an advantage and so I'm glad that they got rid of it that early it's same thing with The Hourglass like hourglass lasted for two Seas Seasons 41 and 42 too long too long I mean but too long for us but like production wise they did it because they did them back to back yeah they you know they got rid of it soon as they realized fans hated I think in this situation they saw how this was going anyway and they realized hey maybe we should just put the kaios on it because No One's Gonna like this at all it's that tricky thing though right like the season before this is everyone's top three seasons of Survivor like and this season is

21:23 Holly is the best player in the season and it's not saying much but like Holly does understand what's you know everything's going on she's smart enough after and that's another big storyline with the season without going into the quits yet by my count we have four different people this season to quit have specified that they want to quit there might be more but purple Kelly nanka Holly and Dan at one point or another say they're done yeah and it's funny the domino effect of Holly wants to quit and Jimmy Johnson talks out of it and then Dan wants to quit and he's talking to Holly about and Holly's like don't do it don't do it and then nanka and purple Kelly want to quit and Holly once again is just like don't do this like Jimmy Johnson back in the day told me I shouldn't quit and I like took that to heart and then they you know they finally quit and everything the I obviously we know you know with the benefit of hindsight we know that like Kelly was in a [ __ ] spot out there with the clothing that she had to wear yeah and I like quitting is quitting whatever I do I put Kelly more in the Austin quit category of like they were just in a [ __ ] situation where they had no clothing and it's

26:45 And then she goes like five more episodes with none and then we have four on her quit episode so like she has literally five qu five confessionals the whole season and it seemed like everyone liked her like no one talks bad about her at all in the season she seemed like she's a decent person she won like a like hottest reality winner thing I saw like I was doing research about her afterwards like she seems like a pretty good stable human being who just had a rough time out there she was she didn't have any clothes she didn't have any clothes she a tiny little skinny blonde nurse yeah she had no clothes I get like I you know people quit Survivor you know it sucks and I get it and watching Elena's face Elena and Brenda's face and Marty on the jury as the quits happen I felt for them so much because it's like yeah I'd be so bothered by that too like we want to play two people are quitting the situation I get it you know I get I actually get their perspective and I get purple Kelly's perspective I will never get Nan's perspective mean she's playing The Villain Like that's exactly like what your friend G what Gabe is saying in the chat was always going to get the same exact edit whether she quit that episode or made it to the final or wasn't there for four episodes she

29:25 Times now is benry J ER cuz I don't remember him beside for his name so benry for me is the is the generic white guy of the season because we actually don't have many generic white guys on like Chase I think like Chase Rice has been saved by history because he's famous now like Chase's edit is honestly coleby like but kby L yeah okay I'll give you that Charming southern guy makes friends he's yeah wholesome Fabio because he's he is such a character this season Shannon's a piece of [ __ ] so he can't be generic Jimmy T is crazy so Jimmy Johnson so benry is the generic white guy of the season and the only benry thing that I remember is his two VOD on confessionals for Tyrone and for Alina yeah hey Tyrone the new king of asata before he drops the thing and it falls on the ground Elena is calling her a dirt squirrel and oh and then the Dismount I think someone mentioned the CH the Dismount after they lose the reward challenge but benry is yeah benry is so forgettable that when I was watching today the double quit episode I was like okay yeah so then

30:45 H Jane goes and then we're in Finale known full well that benry is still there I just forgot that benry there is an episode where benry gets voted out and sit sitting here right now I tell you a single thing that happened in the benry vot out episode either one I didn't pay attention or two I did pay attention and I don't remember it because the season is so boring especially when it's a benry vot out episode I'll as a person that's on here to defend this podast this season and I'm very proud defend the season and I wa the way I watched this season when I rewatched it was I was watching two episodes a day or so like for a week which is what I'll be doing for my next one which I'm more excited to watch because that is one of my favorite Seasons We're Not Gonna spoil that yet but it's that thing of like I remember watching the Ben reod episode but that's it the honestly for me the best episode of the Season like the only really good one is the Brenda vote out episode The Brenda vote out episode is from Top from top to bottom it's a very good episode you get the reward challenge where the winners have to go on the volcano or the whatever go ahead go ahead no I

33:25 Is one of the more fun hilarious is quiry Southern characters out there she ain't better than twia she ain't better than okay fine whatever no keep going keep going like I think like Al also I think she adapts well I think what's interesting about this B tribe is they don't adapt well at all once the swap happens and Jan becomes immediately best friends with everyone on the floor like in a genuine way also like she [ __ ] cries her [ __ ] chicken dies they murder her chicken murder her chicken she put out the fire when they tell her she's going home and I will give credit to Jane on that because even in the previously on for the episode after the swap it says both swaps both tribes swapped and Jane and Holly were the ones that were able to adjust yeah to their no new situations and I like we said earlier I feel like Holly is probably the best player on the season and I don't think that Jane is that bad but like Jane's entertaining in this season yeah sure but that's not saying much because sugar and Kenny are the two best players on gabone

36:06 To3 make no sense at all to the point where we get a Sit situation where there's a swap and knew whichever one they end up on the side of they have to pick between Eve and Dan alluded to this earlier and they their own the fense cuz like oh do we keep someone that's like really playing the game or do we keep the physical liability knowing that they're probably not going to merge next and they keep Dan who can do didly [ __ ] like it's not like it's not like he Sandra or something where you know they can do challenges the liability but they can still at least perform form in it Dan can't do anything yeah he physically cannot do anything and they decide oh yeah let's keep being during the Kelly Bruno vote out where your boy Marty gives up the idol and they split the vote and Marty is so shocked that this actually happened they vote out Kelly which you feel bad for because she probably shouldn't
