1:21 To discuss and we're only down to one episode a week so it makes it a little bit easier for podcasters like us so I'm happy to have a good old chat about it yeah I'm so I'm so like again we spoke about it I think last week where we said for podcasters one episode a week is perfect opposed to two or three episodes but I feel like we're well and truly ready for it I saw this comment online I think it was one of the Survivor fan Community Pages where people were saying how are we gonna survive watching 90 episodes it's too much Survivor coming to us this season and I was thinking to myself you guys have got an idea if you're an Australian reality TV fan every single Australian reality TV show gets three episodes a week I mean some of them even though you get three episodes a week some of them are still 90 minutes as well like they'll go even yeah like 90 minutes three times a week yeah like Australians are dedicated when it comes to watching their reality TV let's have a lot of nails going on well you're trying to stay in the house opposed to going out where there are things that can kill you so you're like I don't want to go out into the bush because there's snakes there or crocodiles so I'm going to stay at home watch TV let's tell it to a few people here in the Life we've got Elise back hello Oreos woolly is we've also got Andrea Lee back

2:41 Saying only saw the elimination part so far we've got wool yeah and Oreo again Aussie there we go Oreo you're never Aussie in the house or are you tuning in from somewhere else I'd like to know like I don't believe we've asked you before all right let's get into the episode what did you think of the episode as a whole kuna did you like it yeah I thought it was a good episode I mean I'm not the Negative Nancy type anyway that I see on online so much that people hating on seasons and I'm like I don't why I don't see what you're seeing like I'm am I missing something because I think it's got strong competitors it's they're innovating the challenges as they always do sometimes they work sometimes they don't but they're trying right and I think this specific episode the daily it's a bit we'll talk about all of that but we'll talk about it all of that things that are bringing it back to even like the original carnival game style things which I'm a fan of I like it you know I like that they're mixing it up and you bringing up the whole fact that they keep innovating and doing all these things it was cool to hear banana say what I've been saying for the last two or three seasons now where I keep giving the challenge credit for innovating and adding to the carnival games or bringing new

4:01 Elements to it which I believe like I'm not going to lie to you when I watched The Challenge this week I had the biggest smile on my face because it is becoming my favorite reality TV show without a doubt I've been on here for such a long time always Survivor first Survivor first and I still love Survivor but man survivor 45 has got some pressure on its shoulders like I wasn't as excited going into the draft yesterday for Survivor as I was watching the episode for the challenge and this is coming from a Survivor die hard fan like I'm really starting to lean that way and I don't know what it is I like the format of USA I like the format of world championship I like the fact that it's shorter episodes shorter like less episodes and we're getting through the medium potatoes a lot quicker where I think going back like if we start covering 39 if the seasons are dead it's going to be a slog but at least in these types of Seasons if it's a dud you know it's over pretty quickly and we get to see another season so yeah like the 12 11 12 we don't know yet if it's going to be 11 or 12 or 13 episodes but we know it's not going to be like 22 23 episodes of ride or delays or whatever you know yeah well friends I definitely struggle keeping up with that many episodes we'll phrase this my boy it's the wall of time I'll be covering The Wheel of Time with will just after this welcome to the live stream here we'll the Laura is saying you're looking good Dolores is our hype

5:22 Woman Kona you know everybody needs a Dolores in their life we love delays thank you they love Dolores 100 Daddy can say be there soon I'll listen in the car daddy like I feel like Danica she's always out and about like she's never at home like clearly she doesn't live in Australia you know whenever she listens to us she's always out in the car so it's always good to have you here Danica Laura's saying when you get to it'll be curious as to what you think of when TJ pulled that ball okay we'll talk about that Alina says this has been a great season these survival women have been wonderful to watch yep very strong women indeed and then later saying yes love The Wheel of Time yep well Lena will hopefully see you in that live next as well but let's get into this episode so Tyler comes back he's just done his first elimination he feels like he's in a good spot like he's just one obviously they lost a big brother player which now finally big brother is kind of waking up and they're like well we're taking too many shots here but Tyler feels good in the sense that at least now he's gone in the sand he knows what it feels like and believes that he can win more moving forward do you think this is a good sign that they showed that little bit of a clip there of Tyler talking like that do you think we could potentially see him go into the sand again in the future and maybe go on a bit of a run now that he's sort of you know got his Maiden win I mean Tyler's sunshine in human form right according

6:43 To Alyssa which is such a good descriptor for a person and he's got that golden retriever Vibes for sure I do think he's a genuine nice person yeah having the confidence after like what we what we've literally just talked about is how the challenges are changing how they innovate how this do it they're doing things that they've never really seen before Tyler coming back from the spool too small for cool too cool for school I don't know if that should give you the confidence to go oh I did that weird thing that no one's ever done before that took us three hours we spoke about this but we spoke about this last week I feel like just the end like yes maybe he doesn't show how good you would be in a Sprint but showing the resistance or the mental strength to keep going and the challenge is that difficult I think there is something about that and I guess the same thing that endurance of not just the body but of the will of the mind to put up with it and all that sort of thing probably would have helped Sebastian a bit in this episode too if you yeah like you know so yeah I mean Tyler seems very competent I do like the guy but there's some beasts left in this game and if he's gonna be going down consistently

8:03 I don't like his chances to be honest because it's not like it will be that type of challenge every time there may be one where he runs into a whole brawl against the fesi he runs into a you know what a puzzle against Wes or something you know like the spelling bee competition against the Josh for instance I mean How's that gonna go yeah give him the Goof there's a murderer's road left for him to get through if he's going to go on a run so it's ahead of him but he certainly seems competent definitely yeah I like Tyler I don't think Tyler we've seen a lot from him this season in regards to his strategic prowse but I also think that the challenge is such a different show you come into the show you don't necessarily have the numbers but then again the same could have been said about the Survivor girls who have really taken control of this game I mean early on in this episode we see Michaela sit Chris down and kind of like talk to them in a way like hey what are you doing in the game buddy talk to me yeah you know why are you being this person that is talking to everyone and it was such a almost like mafia boss type of move where she's like trying to keep her henchman and check and I found it quite hilarious because between the two of them Chris has actually won a show she hasn't but she's sitting him down right now and she's got the power

9:23 I love the I love Michaela she's just solidifying herself episode after episode as a as a favorite of mine and you know what I got from it I thought she was really giving Wes Vibes like she was I can see her being like the next certainly physically capable and when it comes to women even more so than West but just that strategic smart honest sort of brutal thing and she said one thing which I thought was so good like and imagine right if you close your eyes and just listen to what she said I swear it would be like it was coming out of Wes's mouth right when she goes something I think it was like my skill is seeing what problems lie ahead and solving them before they happen like you could just imagine Wes giving that as a confessional directive with the Cockiness the ego about it and she's kind of feeling herself at the moment because but the big difference between there is a big difference between Michaela and Western the sense that when Michaela says that she says it's Stone Cold with no humor involved where West always says humor in it and I feel like when he talks to people maybe he gets away with a little bit more because he's got that cheeky humor when he delivers it where if I was sitting on the opposite side of Michaela love it for a TV

10:43 Moment but I'd be like I need to I need to check her like I need to get her out at some point she's coming for me like type of thing so I feel like people have taken a bit differently Chris is handling that in like this episode for Chris is such a roller coaster because I feel like there was UPS there was Downs it was all over the place and someone calling you out or at least but yes very brutally honest and very stone-faced that Michaela is but I feel like she was trying to say hey man like you've got us worried like you need to understand if your survivor's strong we're not feeling it and you need to understand that and what's going on and this idiot goes well yeah I'm only working with I'm really working with the people that I like well who's that not you it's the Vets like why did you say that like yeah like especially coming from Survivor right are we in This Together absolutely 100 we're going to the final four together you know what I mean like you need to kind of allay those fears even if you are working the Vets but he's basically saying look she's going hey man you're being a bit sketchy we're a bit worried about you he goes are you she says yeah to be honest with you I am and he goes well you have every right to be because I'm working with the Vets like what strategy is that yeah but what I didn't get is there isn't even that many like non-survivor

12:04 Girls left in the game almost all of the girls in the game are Survivor girls so like what is he supposed to do in that moment because I think the only thing he could say to her is listen Survivor girls they're good with me like I'm from the guy's side because the Vets he spoke about all the guys he didn't say he was working with Tori so Tori and Alyssa s are the only other two girls right that fall outside of the Survivor group in any case so I don't really know how that's what he should have said right yeah I don't feel like it's that complicated like it was he just that bad at ensuring it and then I feel like it's funny because you know again in this episode we see Chris have that moment where he talks to his wife right so he has the scene where he talks to his wife and by the way his wife seems like the best partner ever like because she's just like I hear you I'm here for you she wasn't giving him advice it was just there for him she's just looked like such a good supportive partner to have when you're spiraling and you're having this moment so Chris sort of has this moment where he complains again about us the Survivor fans because we don't rate his strategic game well buddy how can we rate your strategic game when you were voted out third in the season it is what it is like the proof that you're putting you got voted out early I give him credit for being able to use the theme of that season to come back in the game which I think is now helping him in the challenge and we'll talk about that a little bit more later on I think that

13:24 Theme actually prepared him for the challenge because and the challenge you can't just vote someone out either you have a way to fight yourself back in the game similar to what happened in the age and I think that's absolutely that is where Chris thrives he is that kind of player so maybe the challenge was made for him to begin with but when you look at his social game even that season he got caught out talking to too many people and word got back to the two main players in his tribe David Wright and Kelly they compared notes they voted him out same thing happened it just happened a lot earlier on so clearly this is within his character to make too many deals and yeah I don't know what he wants from us like strategically mate you're getting found out you're getting found out again this season as well it's nothing to against you as a person I know you want to be known as the Strategic Mastermind but maybe you're the Derek kazinski maybe you don't have the best strategy but you're just good at eliminations and then own it look he's not I think it was a really bad PR sort of campaign from Chris like if we're talking if we skip forward a little bit the bit where he's I guess after maybe we'll talk about once the nominations are all done and stuff I think we're skipping ahead on quite a few things but yeah but I S when he had the conversation with his wife when he was getting sort of grilled by Michaela I was like oh no this

14:44 Is not good great this is not looking good and then I was like hang on if he's either going or he's going far because there's not many people that get that edit like especially in the challenge he's getting the I know it was the anniversary and stuff so maybe that's why it kind of had that little bit of extra not drama but like heartstring pool but I was like hang on is this a good sign then like when I find the outcome at the end like is it maybe good that he's getting all this attention for Chris or bad that I thought without seeing the result at the end I was like this is horrible he's we're saying goodbye to Chris but yeah I'm not sure like not everyone gets an edit like that in the challenge you know 100 let's read a couple of the comments here because we've gone on a bit of a tangent see what people are saying in the chat Lena's saying I love her Candor speaking about Michaela we've also got Danica saying I'm hoping that all of all the rookies and non-vets that Tyler and Michaela make it to the finals I don't hate that I like both of them but I'm gonna say I'm kind of like Chris isn't going to support other Chris's I would say I'll over Tyler why Chris I would like Chris to make the final with Michaela because I actually I know he didn't play a good game but it's fun to watch like it's fun to see him scramble I actually enjoy it Tyler's got his win already he's got Alyssa here like he can take that

16:05 Big Win she's yeah so I mean well done Dolores are saying honestly I appreciate Michaela say it like it is Willie Lloyd is saying Chris was just scrambling because he was in the line of fire 100 he and I think he also he mentioned it he was getting a bit of PTSD from when the same thing happened to him in Survivor when he got voted out like he was seeing the signs of him losing control people comparing notes and I think that sort of had an effect on him as well and I think that having that chip on your shoulder though makes you so good kuna when you go into an elimination when you're like I've been betrayed people have gone against me you know because every time his name gets brought up like even to face it he was like I'm not having a fishy you know like he was he was really pissed you can see it on his demeanor you know yeah it does back him up in that but I don't know if it does good for the socials but in the politics you know so no I don't I don't know about that but definitely getting a little bit of fire behind you when you go into the sand Dolores is saying look at the differences West knew he was in line of fire and instead said vote for women keeping them in on his side true that Lena saying Chris statement reminded me of Nelson's conversation with Amber B their number ones didn't feel the same about them Chris is pulling a Michelle from Willie I think he is but I do think the big difference is and it's funny because I mentioned this I think it was when we did

17:25 Rankings Power Rankings with relative illness a couple of weeks ago when Michelle kind of fell down the picking order on my rankings where the first week I had a lot higher and she started falling down and I said the one thing that keeps getting stuck in my head is how terrible she was at immunity challenge not athletic like she's good at the puzzle she's good with math and that kind of stuff but I remember there was a challenge in winners of War where she had to like she was struggling to walk over a balancing beam and she had to do it like I don't know seven away type made it and this episode kind of again showed that Michelle is not she just doesn't have that athletic side to her love Michelle but Chris is not that Chris is athletic so I think we can back it up physically 100 yeah Danica saying they did the same with whispering and wife baby for his heartstrings yeah under that's true that's a very similar type of sort of connection there Christina says hello all hey Christina welcome to the live Dolores saying is it me it was just rude or fatty to talk to him with his mouth full of food I mean Fest is rude right yeah it's listen let's face his world and we'll just we're just all living in it we're just seeing basically live out his best self out there on the challenge Arya says I think Chris winning the season for men that's a big cool Warrior it's a big call because

18:45 He's got to get through bananas he's got to get through West tour the best to ever do it Corey who I think is having a pretty decent season so far fessie who's a beast this season as well like I mean it's not an easy road to the final it's a bit cooler very bit cool Christina B is saying Chris realized all his top four thoughts of him is Expendable and then Dolores if Chris wins it's because he earned it 100 yeah that will be the case if he does end up Chris needs to realize when he says his big four thinks he's expendable he's either putting his eggs in the wrong basket by saying he's big for people like a Cory and a fessi who've been doing it for years with other people like literally Corey's been on it for nine Seasons like what you're not gonna make his top thing and then he by being thinking that they're his top four he's also alienating the Survivor crew so it's yeah it's tough you know like he's putting himself on the guy's position to work out of I still don't get why the girls are feeling so threatened by him being close to some of the vet guys unless the vet guys are coming for them directly it doesn't make sense to me because there is only one other survivor guy in the season which is sea bass it's not like he's turning his back on like a bunch of Survivor guys and it sounded like up until this point sea bass was close with him and then I think it's because maybe he started like he kind of alluded to this in the previous episode

20:06 Where he said he's happy to work with Tyler he wants Tyler to come back so that they can take on some big threats in the game so maybe it's because he was there was some stuff happening where suddenly he's now talking to Tyler as well and they found it strange that he wasn't talking to him like I still find it bizarre that Michaela felt so threatened with the limited amount of people that are in the game there is only two women that are not Survivor yeah and if I guess once maybe it's like once they're gone once a list is gone if he's saying he's alliances with a Corey and a Facey are they going to protect Tori over Michaela actually I think we're missing something big here now just thinking it through I think we're missing something big I think it's got to do with the fact that Michaela Chanel and Desi made that deal with bananas and with Tori and they probably want Chris to work with bananas and Chris doesn't want to work with bananas he's wanting to work with the other guys which maybe that is the little bit that we're missing in this because I just my brain was hurting trying to think why does she feel so threatened by him being close to Corey and fessie and Josh but it's clearly because it's not bananas right who's got an actual deal with Survivor girls exactly and they also know that of the of the vets who is Josh and fessi more likely to protect right then the Survivor girls are they

21:26 Gonna pick the and we see it play out in this very episode right are they going to protect Big Brother girl Alyssa are they going to protect vet friend vacation Alliance Tory or they're going to protect the Survivor girls so if you're picking their side their side's coming after hours next even if they don't protect Alyssa once a list is gone they're not going to take out Tori they're going to go for Survivor girls so that even though they might not be in danger immediately which they kind of are anyway because again it's only a listen thing there's no other option so they have to come for Survivor you want to make sure that your numbers are solidified as much as possible yeah we kind of avoided talking about this for quite a while and I think we both didn't want to bring this up because it's a little bit but Tori and sea bass like early on in this episode again we get the we get the whole thing like Tori I didn't expect to come out here and see you and you know he's like I'm so in love with you and all that kind of stuff I think he even dropped the love word at the end when he was leaving which was a big bomb yeah so yeah so anyway so I think that it was interesting that both Chris and sea bass got a bit of airtime before the daily challenge here and I think as soon as that happened I was like oh they're talking a lot about getting Survivor in there they're showing CVS his relationship with Tori

22:46 They're showing a bit of Chris I know they're close but wouldn't the best move be to throw the two Survivor guys in there to ensure that a survivor guy goes home wasn't my thinking when I saw this play out how did you feel about sort of getting the those scenes very early on and the reason that it's like I don't want to hate on everything Tori does like I mean we've spoken about it a lot there's a lot of hate out there towards story but she kind of brings it on herself when she's got like a new boo every single season like next season she'll have someone else yeah I mean first of all fessy giving advice to hey I don't know if hooking up with people is a good strategy on this game like the biggest hypocrite in the history of the game like what are you talking about Percy like was it maybe just like the first season yeah with the season he's not doing it literally it's literally the first season like it's because everybody knows everybody there was like multiplication yeah but it's because it's everybody knows this like because they're all from the same network where the last season there were people coming in from overseas they were like people who are not aware to his what he is and how he does things this season no one wanted to touch fishy I bet you no one wanted to touch him I think it's also because he's got an actual girlfriend now outside of there oh does he okay yeah like his Instagram is one person like specifically so

26:47 They're really trying to build him up to like be this Mainstay guy for long term Elise says Tori said on the podcast she also tired of the couple's edit she gets every season she also said she and Sebastian never hooked up on the show come on okay that's why they stayed at the house last week very specifically yeah when the cameras went around except for the professional camera yeah Willie Lloyd says Sebastian isn't even close to Jordan level Jordan can back up as talk Sebastian can't yep yeah I mean we'll talk about sea bass in this whole I think performance but let's get into the daily challenge here kuna the daily challenge they had mini trampolines set up behind a wall they had to jump on these mini trampolines and then see I guess a bunch of numbers count them all together it was like a math equation type of thing that they had to do and then the first three men and the first three women to solve it running back hitting the buzzer they would end up going into a final round and it was to begin with I was like this is pretty simplistic but still I kind of liked it because it came down to the fact that they had to have some common sense they had to be good with numbers they had to be able to you know do the math while jumping up and down a little bit goofy a little bit different but if you count into the effect that there was still some skill involved here and if you looked at how many people were struggling

28:07 We kind of call CBS out for not doing really well he was impressive getting it on the first try here and was the first person through yeah like I kind of wish the equations were all different it might have been harder in confirming who's correct and who's not but I feel like some of them definitely looked at the borders other people or got the answer from other people because it was it was all this all the same answers all 91. yeah I can't I liked it I like the actual start bit but then I didn't like it in contrast to the second one because I just wish that the SEC everyone did the second one because I liked that like doing the whole challenge trucks scary potential for danger which we saw so yeah it was kind of cool in itself but then in contrast to the second part of the challenge I was like ah it makes the first one feel really rinky-dinky kind of crappy like I don't know how you would incorporate it into a bigger thing so it was cool Standalone I liked it as a daily with the full picture I was like yeah it was a bit more of a letdown I wish I saw more people doing the second part I actually quite liked the way they did it this time around by having less people going to the second

29:27 One and the reason I kind of liked it was because normally when you see the truck challenge there's too many people to try and keep a track off and it's hard to know like who's doing well who's not doing well you kind of forget what people are doing I get like you as a competitor being out there I would have been pissed off that I had to do the first one and I couldn't do the second one because the second one looked more fun to competing but I think as a viewer then just exercise the exercise yeah I mean it's been a minute since I've been on a on a trampoline I'll say that much like I mean who's got like a spear trampoline in the backyard that they practice on for the challenge you know I don't think many people would have that but our kids would kill that competition by the way yeah I feel like that's kind of when you do a lot of Trampoline Jumping is when you're a kid not when you're a grown-up so we've got we've got one in the backyard which I'm obviously not going anywhere near if I if I want to stay alive maybe in a year's time maybe it is something you're going to be on there you know my five-year-old my five-year-old will land on his back and land on his head I'm like oh did you just break your neck he's like I'm good dad okay keep going they fall off the champ my two-year-old or he's not even two he's a 19 month old climbs the ladder by himself and I'm not sure if I'm gonna get child protective services on my back for saying this but he I let him climb the

30:48 Ladder because I want him to learn how to build gross motor skills and learn how to negotiate obstacles in the world and he gets up there and he jumps and he runs around but the other day he just fell straight off it I was like oh my gosh he's like I'm okay I'm like good go back up there then yeah I was a wild child as a kid as well on trampolines I think I my parents like a lot of the gray hairs I'm responsible for it when it comes to things like trampolines or jumping off high places and things like that like I yeah I definitely had my first year of that but let's talk a little bit about who made it through so Josh fessey and sea bass they're the men that actually make it through so Chris feels somewhat comfortable with that because those are also in his mind his voice that he's working with Michelle Chanel and Tori make it through for the women Michelle didn't do well on this at all I wasn't surprised like I said watching Survivor just knowing how uncoordinated she is in certain challenges I wasn't surprised not to see her do well Chanel was a big shock just like Daisy said she's actually doing worse than Michelle in this challenge which is a bit of a dig at both of them at the same time here I was very shocked that Chanel was struggling and then Tori I mean listen the

32:08 Girl was eating she is eating right now she's winning like six out of nine daily challenges this season that's full fee that must be getting pretty close to a record for the season like that is healthy there needs to be less and less of those haters when you say lover or hater there's got to be less people who hate it because she's absolutely dominant in a season where Wes I said last week's episode Wes has said this is the strongest female top eight that he's seen ever in the challenge I disagree with but it's still a very strong female cast especially getting towards the pointy end here the three or the four survive five Survivor women I guess but really three Survivor women is a very strong cast and Tori is dominant in a strong female cast like that says a lot you know no Ed really I never tried competitive trampoline sports I didn't even know that was a thing but denica is saying that apparently fancy does it on ESPN so he's a professional or semi-professional slam ball I love slang do you know what slam ball is no I don't SlamBall is a game of basketball yep where there are trampolines on the court so it was popular years and years ago and gosh I do I do know you know I've seen highlights of it yeah
