4:13 Survivor but also watches Survivor us so obviously hard talk about it yeah exactly and everybody I try and keep it as like I try and keep it as spoiler-free as I can on this channel at least but more people dropping in we've got di Bean also in here City says I prefer Australian Survivor for sure yeah I hate to make it Australian Survivor ver surviv us but this season's just been too good like Australian Survivor and they've had like back to back they're not missing at the moment with good season so it's kind of swaying it that way for me a little bit as well but let's talk about survival 46 episode three we get Jess voted out last week you know they go back to the yanu tribe and that's the purple tribe in fact most of the time I don't even remember the names of the tribes anymore but you know the purple tribe they back there they're having conversation Banu feels very left out and this was a big theme of the episode The Banu of it all like I mean he got all of the screen time I feel like for all of the wrong reasons Jake because what kind of strategy was the whole game that he was playing this week it was so bizarre to me I've never seen it's the pity strategy like if you feel sorry for me you're going to keep me in the game kind of it's he's trying to make an appeal to emotion and this is the worst type

5:33 Of era to be making that sort of appeal people just don't give up their best interests to help somebody who feels sad about how their game is going like I can empathize with Banu that you know he's made he had made mistakes and you know he made some more so I sort of feel less empathetic you know but at least at the beginning you know it's like he's made some mistakes and he feels bad about him and so he's just trying to you know do you know whatever he can but it just comes off so bad it's yeah some it got it gets to the point where it's a little rough to watch for me personally yeah I to be honest with you I was not one of those million I get I get really bad secondhand embarrassment like even in shows like obviously this is real you know but even in like red TV shows like the office like Michael Scott is just too much like Scott's TOS Scott's tots I can't watch that episode the premise is hilarious but it's hard to see it you know yeah and with Bary you know that there's also this like you want to be respectful of the fact that there is a cultural difference

6:53 Like he moved to America I believe and I could be wrong here probably a couple of years ago but he was probably like in his mid-30s or something when he moved so you know culturally there's a real difference there as well but he just seems to be a very cookie special character really he's a wackadoodle exactly and you know it was interesting because you know you have him there back at tribe back at Camp you know and he's talking about the fact that oh they're telling me I can't play with emotions and he's so taken back by this you know and the whole thing is just at Tribal Council he's giving information away so this is a legitimate worry for the rest of the people that are back at Camp because they're like if we going to go to like a merge with this guy if there's a tribe swap he's going to give away the game plan he's going to tell people about our strategy and camp and it actually plays out this episode because of his paranoia as well but you know he just spirals from that one comment and seeing Q who you know for me this season I came into the first week and I said I don't really have many people that I'm that I'm rooting for Q was one of those people and then even with him it's been a roller coaster this episode and we'll talk about it yeah wow forgot about that yeah but with Q you know coming in here being the guy who's trying to like coach him and be like hey you know wackadoodles have won the show like don't quit

8:13 On yourself right now don't completely give up you know it was so fascinating to see the dynamic in this tribe and what is it with the purple tribe that they're always the one that implodes in every single season it's true yeah like and this gave me really it gave Deja Vu of oh I cannot remember the name of it but inal y Tri yeah in 44 yeah where they were about to go to tribal and then somebody got medically evacuated so they came and cancelled the tribal council and so and they got saved happened a bit later in the season because I believe they just merged immediately after that but still and just seeing yeah like just the parallels of seeing people so happy of somebody else's Misfortune we'll get into that L though but yeah 100% let's read a couple more comments here Gap said bu new fun character but he's not making the merge I think like listen he's getting a massive edit and this win or not win but this save that happened for them in this episode could play out in a way where maybe there's a tribe swap maybe something different happen and they were they were so close to winning yeah like yeah like I saw people were already last week saying like oh yeah they're just gonna lose every single challenge

10:53 Him Philip calling him a liability like basically saying like but to be also being like just real with him like you're a mess right now you are and you can fix it you know but you got to make the change and Kenzie you know was she being fake with him absolutely but that's part of the game you know she you know has said like there's no chance I'm working with this guy you know but she gives the illusion you know like oh yeah if you come up with a plan which he acts like is so ridiculous to say it's like yeah okay you're coming to me somebody who is just done with your BS and are saying and are expecting me to come up with something to benefit you that's ridiculous like yeah no I agree with you like you know we spoke about this for Australian Survivor I'm not going to name the names because I don't want to spoil it for the people that are watching it but there was a certain player where everybody is like why does no one take this player seriously why is no one like letting them in on the vote until the last minute you know they always tell them at the last minute this is where you need to vote and I was like well what does that person bring to the table like if you want to be like a valued Alliance member if you want to go to someone that in the social hierarchy is sitting at a higher position than you then you need to at least present a plan you need to be

12:13 Like this is why you need to work with me because x y and z are the benefits this is why we need to take out Q because he's going to win all the immunities like have a plan have something s of yeah it kind of reminds me of in Heroes versus villain when Tyson goes to coach and is like don't tell those stories people laugh at you like and you know and just like giving him a it's funny because like he's coaching the coach you know that's C yes but in keny's case like I was saying like he didn't bring anything but I understand Kenzie was definitely going to use it against him and he probably knew that as well but why entertain the conversation like if you're not going to be open with her and I don't feel like he brought anything to the Q conversation either Q's the one that's like exactly he locked out he massively lucked out that Q was even bringing a semblance of a plan up like in the conversation it's kind of crazy you know how close well we'll see next week if anything comes of it but yeah to totally agree so Chris here says I don't know if this is a hot take but I hate when a tribe of six gets steamrolled it has happened like four times in the new era just so repetitive totally agree like I ranted about this and I don't want to make this a podcast again in the first very Premier episode where I said I'm bored of the theme

13:34 I'm bored of the three tribes of SE I'm bored of them going to decision- making Island to go and do some sort of a challenge now they've done that decision making Island even further where it's not even about trying to read the other people that are on the island will they risk their Vote or not you know now it's ah you drew a rock lucky you lose your vote tonight it's so dumb Jake like why are we still doing this why are we still doing the same theme how can Jeff not see that it's becoming like watching pain dry on a wall right now yeah we I feel like this episode could have been much worse had we not had the just absolutely insane Banu breakdown at decision Island because it took up a you know a fairly big portion of the episode and it just resulted in just like yeah you two people drew the right Rock and they both couldn't finish puzzle like wow riveting you know like and it's made a bit more interesting later when we see how they whether they decide to tell the truth or not to their tribe but the decision Island scenes itself are so dumb like this is probably the worst it's been yeah I to I totally agree and it's because it's so repetitive hi Nunes welcome back to the live

16:14 Early on Jake is because there's not that many options and things that can play out now in purple like we know it's actually foregone conclusion that b will go next unless he somehow gets his vote back which he doesn't have so he can play a shot in the dark and that to me was a new thing I feel like was losing your vote always did it always mean that you lost your shot in the dark maybe it's something I've actually missed it has been that's always been the case in fact I think it kind of came up last season with Brandon in episode two he couldn't play a shot in the dark because he went to decision Island and lost his vote yeah so that was sort of a big thing yeah yes Chris I don't understand Twitter you like is that supposed to be funny when they put Jess as like Queen tear like right at the top probably is I don't know like I just I don't spend enough time on Twitter you know I'm like in and out on Twitter basically because too many times I've been spoiled on Twitter because I'm always like a couple hours behind when I watch Survivor so I try and stay off at post and ghost you know as best as I can but I sort of noticed that Aruna says could there be a series of events immunity we tribe swap finding an idol advantage that could sweep Banu to the merge there is a way there's definitely a way that b gets to the merge

17:34 It's unlikely at this point unless a swap happens I feel like because purple there's all the chance in the world they lose another challenge out there but Survivor is all about momentum and losing I guess Randon this episode for the orange tribe could have a bigger effect than what we potentially realize and could affect them but they do have hunter in that tribe who is like this season's Jonathan so I feel like he would carry his tribe to a lot of Wis one of the other things I had a thought on this when it comes to completely lost my train of thought there but let's talk about Hunter a little bit like what was your thoughts on Hunty here this episode we got to see a little bit more of his personality who he is as a person he's quite low key dare I say now after this episode he's in my select few people at the stage that I'm rooting for of the Season like I'm actually really enjoying Hunter yeah I like them a lot you know I like a lot of people on this season and Hunter's one of them you know and I feel like we're getting you know yeah they call him like Survivor MacGyver and I think it's very interesting to see him kind of explain

18:54 Like here's my strategy like I am that kind of guy but I'm using that as to be like make it so they don't suspect me of anything but then Venus is targeting because of it not two seconds after he finishes saying you know that's his strategy Venus is like oh yeah I'm on to him yeah which and then Randon Venus is telling Randon and he's like really you think Hunter is like pulling the strings and she's like yeah I do so interesting I was low if you remember I was low on Venus for flipping out on being called a princess and freaking out to the point where she needed to go find an idol and then I didn't get to talk to you last week I was obviously away and Kahuna was talking to you but after last week I was like okay cool I've got two people I can shout for now I love Venus and I love Randon like those were my two people I like the I'm actually pretty sad that Randon is gone yeah cuz I feel like they could have been poent together and if they could have found a way to use that Idol correctly as well it could have been very dangerous but now with Venus losing Randon in the game losing the idol like she better hope that Hunter keeps winning because Hunter is not going anywhere in that tribe right now yes she's noticing it but yeah you know K wants to work with him SoDo wants to work with him it does

20:14 Look like Soto may be in some trouble next week on the next on Survivor segment because tev is kind of noticing her playing the game maybe a little bit sneakily or something like that but I really feel like Hunter is in a pretty good position I don't see Hunter going anywhere until the merge I see Venus maybe getting in there ahead of soda if soda is found out for any reason next week but yeah he just seems like a likeable guy plus you know seeing that bed that he constructed on the island with like no tools he didn't have any tools that was pretty impressive man like I want to Hunter on my season when I get cast her to play Survivor seriously yeah I loved when Tevin was like can you build me a temper Pedic it's like but also yeah it's funny it's like he's like yeah I'm just going to build myself a bed yeah just for me you know and listen like I think it's underrated like Chris's also teachers are saying Hunter is a teacher I would love to work with I bet he does the best projects I feel like and here Frank says building a custom bed hacking the rooll by holding legs and taking maybe six stries to land five backs is now lowkey Chris it's not lowkey Chris yeah that's fair it's fair he's not I feel like he's definitely going to be a threat people are going to look at him now like but the problem that you have in Survivor is always this especially in a six-person tribe like and this is probably

21:34 Why Jeff loves the six-person tribe you can't hold back in these challenges you can't be like ah I'm willing to hide my physical abilities in these challenges so that we lose a couple because there's Deb weight we can get rid of well now there's like one or two people and then you could be that person out or you could be one of the two people that they want to make a big move or an example of in the first tribal so it's a big risk to throw a challenge or to hide your ability on the new sort of format of Survivor so I don't Mark him down for coming back from behind and winning obviously you know him building things at Camp I don't think is going to be seen as something that will make him win Survivor so I don't think that adds to his threat resume at all yeah wend was good at it and people wanted wendle around you know for to build things for them so I feel like he's okay with that it's not like he's like saying ah I'm the provider I go and catch fish and bring fish home so if you vote me out you're not gonna have fish you know because like that I feel like yeah he's not like Aussie I don't feel like with that but I get it he's definitely people are aware of him but I think he's in a socially in a pretty good spot and by not saying too much around camp that is where I mean he's like lowkey because he's not he's not trying to make moves at this stage he's trying to figure out who are the people that are a little bit more outspoken

22:55 Compared to him like and that's why he's aligned with t which I think is a good option for him cuz T is going to take a lot of the bullets and make a lot of the moves he just needs to be aware enough on what the right opportunity would be to cut T in the game because at some point T is going to take him out for his likeability you know and that he needs to be aware of that but I wanted to say I think it's under underrated that this guy went to UNI could have gotten any kind of scholarship that he wanted was on a direction to become a believe a doctor from memory only watch The Once and then had the self-awareness after doing the substitute teacher work to be like actually no I know myself I'm not that person I want to do this so I feel like having that self-awareness is coming across in this game and trying to be lowkey and trying to be like okay I can turn it up when I need to so I feel like that you know self-awareness in a game like Survivor is an underrated skill to have but it's very important would you agree with that Jake definitely I think he knows he's very he's just aware of his position in the tribe and that's why it gives me hope of what you were just saying that he would kind of know when to strike against Tevin or soda or whoever he's you know aligned with that might be a threat to his chances of winning yeah YouTube b cat is saying tev is running that

24:15 Tribe totally agree but it's been a couple of episodes of or this episode at least did T even get a confessional this last episode I feel like we didn't even see him I don't think so no which is kind of interesting yeah you'd think that you know Survivor especially in the US they love giving their winner confessionals at least one in an episode and not seeing it kind of interesting to notice Gabe says the players you want to positively Cher for on sigga and Hunter and Venus and Nami that's it I think yeah who do you have you said you like quite a few players this season so far Jake who's the players that you've got their back so far this season yeah I like Hunter and Venus definitely I was rooting for you know Randon and Venus sort of as like a pair you know so I'm a little bummed that Randon is gone I liked their little Dynamic you know I've soured a bit well no I was about to say one person specifically but I've soured on them a bit which is Q yeah he you know we can either talk about it now or later you know has talk about yeah we could talk about it Q talking about how he wants to be voted out yeah never right with me

25:36 Weird like what are we doing in Survivor like casting these people that are so will two seasons in a row two seasons in a row yeah and a lot of it like listen as people who are armchair critics at best you know hopefuls to go and play Survivor one day we can't pre we can't really understand the mental struggles that you go through when you go and play the game but we've had many seasons prior to the new era where people played the game and they never thought about quitting right so it's like something has changed from that era to this era where now we're casting different people maybe they're a little bit more flawed because you know there's certain things that Jeff sees in them like you know Q's this quarterback or this person who played football at school and you know was the star player who always just missed out and his insecurities are coming back out now you know from his school days where he was supposed to be the one to carry the team and he's not doing it and he's putting all this pressure on him so it's mental like it's all mental in his head where he had one of those low moments and we saw it on TV and I've been told that a lot of Survivor players have those moments where they're like man I don't know if I can continue to do this but I think that moment just got captured on camera and made him look even worse because he seemed okay after that like he was back into the game

26:56 And was like okay noo I'm going to work with you this is how I'm going to you know so that's why I'm like 50/50 on Q I feel like we saw in a weak moment I'll let it slide this time if it happens again I'm like it's going to be I was just about to say like if this is a pattern of like he and especially I'll get really annoyed if like he like goes like bipolar of like one second he's like I want to leave and then seconds later he's like no I need to stay in I want to win you know that will get old for sure so I'm hoping that yeah like you said this just like a off moment but I like I like Q I honestly I like Kenzie and Tiffany you know I think they're fine I think Turf especially like for me personally I was thinking about it today I was like okay who do I like CU like I'm still like I'm a slow burner when it comes to survival like I either like people immediately like the cast is phenomenal or like it takes me a while to get used to some of the players I'm in on Hunter after this episode I've liked Venus since last episode big fan of Randon like I thought that was a fun Dynamic rand's now out of the game sadly and tur for me has got all of the instincts of a great Survivor player but Tiff is a great example of someone that is possibly going to get screwed by the Sixers tribes because she now

28:16 Just doesn't have the numbers and the agency to make moves if they get to emerge unless the other tribes can implode on itself like and we have seen that play out so like to be fair she could still come back but I feel like could Loki be the person that has that natural skills to be a Survivor great like a good player at Survivor but she's running out a Runway very quickly at this point I was just about to say like she is an example of like if you still believe that Survivor takes zero luck you are a fool because you can't tell me that Tiffany would not have astronomically better chances of winning if she were on NAMI the orange tribe or sea 100% like if she rep soda in their tribe right yeah different game oh my gosh like yeah the fact that she got stuck on a trip with jalinski Banu and Jess like that right there Jeff did her dirty Jeff she deserves Second Chance from Jeff based on what he did with the casting or and her and Kenzie Q if you know you're acting a little funny right now might you know you know but though yeah but specifically Tiffany I feel like is just like screwed

29:37 Like not screwed I shouldn't say that but like she got unlucky man yeah and this is actually what I was trying to get to earlier that I forgot when I was like I forgot what I wanted to say Jeff made obviously and the production team made it harder in Camp life with no fire or Flint at all which means less food and that's another thing I just don't like I've never liked it in the new era is the fact that we've seen it we've seen this story play out so many times one tribe loses the Flint at the start and it seems to be enough for them to just go on a losing streak because they never get that Flint they never get to be able to start fire so they can cook rice or whatever their little resources they have to actually eat some food and it's just too much of an imbalance when it comes to the challenges you always see that tribe which happened to be the purple tribe the last couple times just not being able to get back up because they don't have Flint you know I Feel Like Flint is too important to not actually just provide the basics to everybody from the start so that we have at least an interesting Fair competition when it comes to the challenge side of things and maybe I'm putting too much into it but it just seems to be so much of a coincidence that the tribes that struggle are the ones who just don't be they're not able to get the basics from the start here Jake yeah no I completely agree it's a pretty big oversight

30:57 By the production team that they didn't sort of consider the domino effect that would have seems kind of like an obvious you know con of implementing that you know yeah frankia says yes and when all one mcgyver must can make fire he is going very far for sure aligning with t Hunter is playing I agree I think Hunter could be a threat if they don't take him out and Venus alone noticing it isn't be it's not enough it's not no yeah Gabe saying Nami trop I still feel is Venus versus teev cool kids Alliance I hope she survives it yes I just I'd like for Venus just to get to the merge I think that would be fun if she can get there Chris says well Erica was a winner in 41 and there was several episodes we didn't hear from her so T still could yeah you're right I always I love it how Chris like puts me on notice you know like I always forget like that with certain winners you know we don't get a lot of content but I just feel like to bring it back Chris like T's got a big personality not that like I feel like Erica had a personal but it was a little bit more of a neutral personality where if you're someone as over the top as tev you'd feel like they focus on him a lot and give him a lot of content you know and I think yeah I think a reason for this is just

32:17 They might this tribe just might not be losing like they just might win the rest of the challenges and that's sort of why we're not seeing things fully develop you know we're only seeing a little tidbits yeah we've got someone here in Instagram I just had a quick look at Instagram saying you should pay maky a 75k salary to play the recorder on the nullify take every episode for those that don't know we had maky do a live song on the podcast last week for one of his favorite Australian Survivor players apparently was a big hit a lot of people want him now to do a full album but like I said for those that are watching on Instagram unfortunately we can't see the comments unless I actually switch over to Instagram so join us here on YouTube if you want your comments to be read a little bit more often so yeah so let's have a look at a few more comments Here YouTube aat say Q is way too hard on himself he's only 29 and I really thought he was older and in his 40s he kind of has I think this way about him where he comes across as a lot more mature but yeah I feel like it was a low moment probably there you is saying is this casting still a result from co I don't think so I think this is a result of a completely new casting team but the format is still a result of Co like the excuse back then was we needed

33:37 To shorten it for the co pandemic we needed to cut down on a lot of things so we can make the show quicker and now I feel like Jeff has said you know the reason we do the six tribes and we do it in this way is because we need to fit it into x amount of days or something like that and I'm like no one wants 26 days everybody wants 39 days go back to two tribes it doesn't have to be two tribes every single season but just mix it up like just do something different I feel like you know I feel like Co gave production an opportunity to be lazy at certain aspects of the game and they've taken that opportunity and they've stayed there like okay this costs us less we can be a little bit less creative on some things we can be creative on other things like creating more game mechanics and twists but like the bance is just slightly off but and the oh can I just say one thing that is that is just bother me so much it's such a little thing but it just really proves either the laziness or I've heard another excuse of why they do it and I think that's stupid too the Idols are so lame yeah they're so lame they're literally you know it's funny because Jess with the fake Idol last episode was like oh yeah this just looks like the beads from to me I couldn't I couldn't tell you like you know from my perspective as a viewer like
