Survivor 46: Episode 4 Review

1:33 Broadcast drop the four and then subtract about three from the six and that's roughly what I'd rank this season you know coming in hot right off the bat here Tom you know not a fan by the sounds of that of Survivor 46 so far I hope that the Survivor 46 cast isn't listening to this podcast because they will hunt you down and apparently rumor has that they're very spicy online have you heard about this Tom they're at people who are not liking this season online well there's one person in the cast that I'd love to hit me up but yeah gonna who know did get one of your million Hearts is that is that the case here you're one of the million Hearts well my heart's kind of cold black and dead so it doesn't really count as one more of a subraction anything we do have a vote running as well at the moment to figure out how many of our live audience how many of their hearts have been captured by baru you know so the question is are you one of bar new million Hearts on YouTube if you're listening to this anywhere else if you want to take part of the vote we're going to have it open until the end of the show so far 64% of the audience have said no they're not part of baru's million hearts and then 36% have said yes

2:54 Kahuna big question mate are you one of Bono's million hearts on the podcast here today I had to change my vote I originally may have been one of the many millions of hearts that he might have won but over the last what have we had three hours of four hours nearly of farewell to Banu yeah I took my heart back I was like no give it back to me you have annoyed the CRA out of me you have ruined this you had my heart boo you had it you were such so sweet but you pushed it too far and annoyed me to the point where I was like no get up your feet get stand up I was like Tiffany I was like no we're not doing this get up get off your feet get off your knees like do it properly I don't want to I off the season not being one of B's million Hearts I never became one of his million hearts and I still am not one of his million Hearts but I know I'm going to annoy some people who really love him because 42% are part of that crew and listen we don't all like the same people but for me I just felt like it was too much from the start like I was never really in on the Banu train of it all and I kind of felt like Kenzie said it right here in this episode I couldn't find the words for it last week when I was thinking about Ban's game but you know he kind of was like that kid

4:14 That just they had to babysit the whole time while he was playing the game and like she said you would tell him don't touch that thing it's hot it's going to burn your hand and he would still go and touch it and burn his hand and then come back crying about it and I have this real thing personally and I mean I guess we're getting straight into it and I will say hello to everybody in the life I know there's heaps of people that are jumping in on the live so we'll get to you guys soon but I have this real thing against people that come across as victims I don't like that I'm all about like what can you do to better yourself get yourself out of the situation are there people in life that have been dealt a bad hand 100% but I just really struggle with this narrative like he even had the little voice like when he was talking to Kenzie Mackenzie why don't you want to talk to me you know like it's that whole oh I'm so scared Kenzie I need your help please cuddle me and I just can't deal with that kuna that to me is just oh my God infuriating I'm not don't have actual kids don't have actual kids because I was getting like trauma recall from all of I'm like I've heard this before I swear bu I've heard this from my three-year-old I've heard this from my like I hear that kind of behavior all the oh please don't turn my tablet off because I punched my sister please I had I had for those who watch both our shows will understand this apologies for those who don't watch Australian Survivor

8:14 Face you can't always just you know it's kind of like I'll be the Q in this situation you'll be the Banu okay and there's a way that you answer questions and there's a way that you speak to people there's a certain social game that you need to learn before you go on Survivor and I'll be giving you training I'll be to your I'll be the to youru for that sit excuse me I've already mastered all my Survivor training this is a choice I choose to be against Caroline I cannot be against her if I want to you chose to be an is what you're doing here exctly you're finally clocking onto it Chris good job good job oh wow you're my Guru you're now my Guru yeah Gabe saying the one thing that gets season 46 cast that hate each other guts to work together is people bashing on their season yeah I can I can imagine like you go out there you try your best and then people are not feeling it's probably not a good feeling it's probably not the best to go out there and bash on fans or people online it's just unfortunate for them that at the same time as the season running we've also got probably in my opinion the best Australian Survivor season of all time playing on the other side so it's like it's that contradiction or the dichotomy of both of those sort of Seasons being up at the same time kiwi saying hey D yeah go for it I just I like that Banu like is still screwing

9:35 That tribe after the fact like not even in the tribe when he's like spilling the secrets and blah but now they're all having to put up with like this season sucks like they're all like having to put up with his like first jalinski Jess suck baru ruin two episodes in a row and that's what the castmates are having to deal with rather than their gaml than being like this season's crap like oh great that's what I've been waiting to go out for you know yeah and there is a problem here right there is a problem here if you look at if you look at the fact that we've known for two episodes in a row now B Banu is going home again I don't want to be that broken record that keeps saying this but you know in that off chance that someone from production listens to this that off chance I just want to get it out there once again having this format where you only have six players in the game it is boring like we know it's a predictable outcome most of the times there going to be a predictable person who's going to go next it takes the suspense out of it for me get more people on a tribe split to two like do something different you know Tom what how do you feel about the fact that we've now had basically I feel like what is it six seasons of exactly the same show with like very minor tweaks to it's basically we're watching the same thing yeah look it is like the most boring Survivor format

10:55 Or I don't know blood vers water Australia was pretty trash it's probably of boring formats surviv history and I think I person didn't mind actually I liked Banu and now that he's gone I don't know there's only one thing to look forward to for the rest of the season which I'm not going to I'm not going to comment on but no but I think if Kenzie got voted out two episodes ago and then this episode was when what was it Brandon the orange tribe dude his arm decided to stop working them that would have been really convenient to me and my entertain but Brandon's arm was not on my side sadly because then bar would still be in I'd be happy but oh well yeah I'm with you on that a few more people here Frank says mkey as your heart Chris all I call beers listen Chris is desperate to have the love of alen and I have it okay Mar very confident here remember who can decide if you're on the interview with alen or not right just card on you but anyways everybody in the live welcome I can see it's alreadying off we've got Thomas and saying I voted yes because I thought that was going to be the majority now I feel embarrassed no listen Thomas there is literally no wrong choice here

12:15 I hate it when people feel like because a podcaster says something I have to agree with them or just because one person doesn't like a certain player but I do like them I can not like them no like who you like you know if Banu is your guy that's who you want to fly your flag high for you know go for it like I think he wasn't my cup of tea but I definitely can understand why some people really resignated with him there was definitely certain things I can see there's a whole new community of people that he repres I don't know if he represented them the way that they would have liked to have been represented on the show but at least now at least now they have seen someone from India who's immigrated through to America go on to the show and get on Survivor so that should give people hope that they could also apply for the game anding wor player in the history of the game do you reckon he's worse than Z like I mean probably his Zay KN of Zay KN survived like the first couple of episodes probably it would have been similar and he also had jalinski on the very same season let's not forget Caroline oh come on get off Caroline come on it's chalk and cheese mes chalk and cheese that a take this no for me he is the absolute worst play player in the history of this game he says he's a Super Fan that's watched every single episode and then he's like

13:36 Help me what do I do like you shut up like what do you mean don't say that like it felt like he doesn't it's not that doesn't know how to play this game it's like he doesn't know how to like human yeah like the funniest people is he could he couldn't believe when they told him you can lie to Jeff you can actually lie to Jeff for he's like really we can lie to Jeff for Tribal Council like what do you mean like you're and he kept saying he was a super fan and I feel like how he's embarrassing all of us don't say you're a Super Fan that's good maybe it means they won't cast any more super fans on American Survivor that'd be really refreshing after a while yeah I've been saying this for a while I would like to see more just characters than anything else but Ken welcome to the live as well I don't think I've seen you here before but welcome to the show saying Canada forever Survivor fan I just watched Titans versus Rebels and I think it was the best season ever I can feel myself getting embarrassed watching Survivor 46 so far it's the worst ever and that is sad like is it really like I hate like while the season's going like I'm a slow burner like you guys know I don't I don't make a decision on a season almost closer to the end then I'm like this is how I feel about the season but is it heading down that way Tom like is this potentially heading down the way as the worst season like what

14:56 Is the worst season of Survivor in your mind blood versus is up there for Australian Survivor if we're going to be fair Redemption Island for me wasn't a great like if you're a Boston Rob fan you loved it but if and I'm a Boston Rob fan but I wanted to see competition and there was no competition in that season so it's kind of up there for me as well like what other seasons do you have as like Seasons you didn't enjoy for me without a doubt I don't know if this will ever be topped it was 41 I hated it so much my favorite person in 41 was Danny and he wouldn't even like be in my top 75 maybe even 100 survivor Play of all time so when there's not even someone in your top 100 on the season and Shan's my least okay ignoring the obvious ignoring the obvious people that everyone doesn't like Dan from season 39 like obviously but yeah people who are like bad human beings like you know ignoring that we're just talking about them as game characters yeah like they're automatically at the bottom of everyone's list but out of the rest of the survival players Shan is my least favorite survival player I could not stand her yes know more about this why did you not like Shan cuz in the moment I was I was but actually I can no I can see why he didn't like Shan because Shan again is a strong female player and we all know Tom does not like strong female players in the game like Caroline it's just it's

16:16 Just the way she like I know like you meant OB manipulate and she did a really good job with that but the way like she would like make like JD feel bad for like not telling her something when she doesn't tell him like everything and then like I hated her stupid Dame song like he like you know like what like you look stupid please stop doing it like oh my gosh yeah everything about and when she got annoyed at Ricard for eating a little tiny bit of papaya I could go on for days but yeah that definitely I agree with you on that but I don't think Shan is like even close to like the most annoying or worst player that we've ever seen so both of us off Kahuna were big fans of Shan but so Tom's lost all credibility Kahuna I'm going to come over to you for like a proper answer what season do you reckon would rival this one as potentially the worst than Survivor us franchise see I'm the same as you in that I'm not making obviously you can't make a judgment call yet because last season started out really badly too if you remember we had a few quits we had Brandon like falling over himself all over the place like it started out it started out pretty pathetic last season as well and it came home WR with you know I enjoyed last I thought it like it overcame a pretty difficult first few episodes

17:36 And I'm hoping this will be the same as well we just haven't got to see the people like I think based on what we've seen so far Tiffany seems really competent I'm excited see what she could actually do around people where she's not constantly having to just tell them to get off their knees like what it's like it's hard to play when you're surrounded by incompetence you know what I mean like what do you it makes them look worse like I don't know if what Q can bring to the game as coach like his coaching skills seem to be like pretty basic level strategy which B you need I guess but I don't know like I'm not excited for the rest of the season especially like what you've said what has been said coming off of Titans versus Rebels which for me is the best season of all of Survivor personal bias included it's not K level yet but it's up there for me it is simply because it's there's recency buyers there's definitely recy like I add I add points personally because we covered it like we got to talk and I got with chat and we were all have you know and then we had Mark and Ferris the whole way through and ien and we had all that fun and then I'm like Banu man like just the compare and contrast makes it even worse like stand alone maybe I'd be enjoying the season a little bit more but it's when it's

18:56 Right next to it makes it so much more difficult and I know I've said his name a thousand times Banu but I can't say anything else because like even when you look at the Sega tribe bloody this is the tribe that we the first time we had the freaking Taylor Swift Metallica off then the next thing we had like them talking about I think they had to show I said this to you Tom in messenger I'm like are they seriously showing there's nothing going on at that tribe they had to show 4 days ago like they actually put the time stamp 4 days ago which would have been at the start of the whole thing and then this week they're doing bloody jumping lessons there's nothing happening jump is insane to me to the point where they have to show that and can I just say like before this before the start of this episode I genuinely I knew there was a green tribe I couldn't remember anyone in the tribe and just for people's knowledge I like I have like a really good memory like I remember everything I know every single winner back front every single season back to front all this stuff and for the life of me I'm thinking who's on the green tribe and like and then I was like oh the Taylor Swift guy oh and then I wanted to stop watching did any of you guys pick up in the challenge when he ran off the podium and he jumped Taylor Swift

22:57 Season just because of one person but I'm being I'm being a little bit dramatic but you know you get I'm enjoying I Tiff I don't know like her personality I don't like her person I just feel like she I get that vibe that she's competent that she's good and she's being hampered by what's around her on the other sides I really like soda I don't know if that's going to come to a head with Kevin which is an interesting plot perhaps but she's fun I like her she I like her personality she Vibes with me but I don't necessarily know if it's good in the game because we haven't got to see much of what's going on yet you know at least with the socializing side of it's important but I do like soda and I do like tff okay Gabe no swap coming this time I think okay that's not great Chris there's excuse you know they did dig in a pile of ants yeah that was entertaining and I was going to say if I if I had to choose a player that at this point like I agree with you with Tiff but just to be some just go in a different direction here I have like Jim because she's probably the closest player that we have to someone who's willing to be a little bit villainous in the game like no one else is really getting their tribe mes to go on a goose chase and you know dig with his aunts she's sitting in I really hope it was specifically where the answer cuz that back huge they're going

24:17 To be like hey I know that you faked it but did you have to put it where the B ouchie answer 100% there for ages if she if she gets caught out I think it's going to be trouble for her but the weirdest thing for me it's like basic human psychology like she did save it well towards the end of the episode but her just standing on the sidelines Tom not even lifting a finger helping out like isn't it like a dead giveaway this person knows that there is no Idol or nothing down there like why did no one else pick it up she deflected well by throwing Tim under the bus for overcompensating which I think was a good cover but I would have immediately been like okay who's trying too hard and who's not trying at all those are the two people the number one on my suspect list well she was overcompensating to put Tim at the Forefront like yeah I thought it was like it was terrible gameplay I mean I enjoyed it and I like Jim she's probably she's my top four I will say I didn't know her name until you just said it but yes Jim is my fourth favorite player and yeah it was terrible gameplay but somehow it paid off but that's how modern Survivor works you know and I'm just goingon to list my other three favorites Tevin and Hunter and Venus yeah but yeah you yeah bandit in the live as well Bandit welcome to the live saying didn't Banu have almost as many confessionals

25:37 In four episodes and as Russell Hans did in four episodes into SAA well I've heard that Banu has had more confessionals this season then Natalie White had the whole season of Samar is what I've heard wow and why my biggest do you know why do you know why they were all so different and varied there was so much Nuance to his confessionals that we got this different Insight every it was so insightful we needed to know about him breaking down we needed to know about him blaming the man the man upstairs you know like oh no like how could you have done why did you even put the cringiness of all of it but when someone literally asks God for help and then nothing happens I'm always like oh no like don't do that because what happens to your entire Faith structure now as well no he's being put through a test he's being put through a trial mate like you know there's a purpose and a plan with that but you know at the end of the day yeah that was that was sad to see like when he was like you know why did you even put me on Survivor cursed him he cursed if I was G to if I was going to be one of the first people to go but I think a lot of it comes down to the fact that who do you go to for content and we're now going to see them getting exposed after Ban's gone because you know you've got the girl is it Liz who is allergic to everything so what kind of confessionals are we going to get there

26:57 Hunter is like based on his challenge ability alone he's he was one of my top two players that I was kind of shouting for but now he's kind of he's maybe just in my top four because he's so boring like he's so Bland right Hunter I'm just like I'm just I'm just excited to see him do well in the challenges at this point that's why he's kind of still in there I loved Randon but we lost Randon last week so that was a player that I would have been behind but I just don't know if there's anyone specifically that's T's probably the only hope for the show right now like I feel like to like would be the other player that you've got sort of somewhere maybe Venus but I feel like T has got the personality he's got the personality potentially yeah I'm not going to lie after the first episode I think I watched the second episode 10 days later and Tevin was actually the only person I remembered in the entire cast like and I remembered him as that actor guy but yeah he's definitely got the best personality out of the lot and I think he is he's being built up to go far he honestly feels like a bit of like a jam in terms of how like I re he's going to win like and they're not even hiding it like he's just in the Forefront I Reon so as well yeah I'm getting I'm getting winner vibes

28:17 From T from the beginning I was like and they even gave him this big monologue as the show started right it's like okay kind of reminded me of Tony when he said you this is the Super Bowl everybody coming back to play best of the best you know but it was even more extended and more over the top than what Tony said and I wonder if they're actually dumbing down the edit because you know Jeff is so gun ho about making it for kids maybe we're going to get to the point where it's like Dora of the Explorer and like spot the winner and then like there's like five people on the screen and one's got a crown which one do you think's gonna win kids and it's just death like being like h a few time I think I think it's interesting that you know this episode they couldn't hide the fact that b was going home so was the first time in like so long that we actually knew what was happening going into Tribal Council and it must have killed Jeff inside that he couldn't make it suspenseful like there was like hopefully this is one of the reasons he moves away from this format in the future where he just couldn't there was like no fake out that he could do so Bandit also gave us another fact on top of the previous one I sorry Bandit yes say did I say b or Bandit but Bandit said Banu had more confessionals in four episodes than poverty in the entirety of Micronesia which is crazy to me so just

29:37 Adding another fact on top of the Natalie fact there hello welcome to the live as well says it could have ruined JY strategy had the producers dig up the spot themselves and put the camera there beforehand right yeah so if they were sort of preparing like it could have ruined her strategy of actually putting something down there beforehand Tom is also saying that as part that part I really hat it as a Christian I ha it and blaming God yes I totally agree it's why like God would not be invested in any case in Survivor like Survivor would be like with all the problems we've got going on in the world like that's like the last thing I'm sure like God is like really focused on is like you know what it reminded me of that for if you don't know I used to actually be a youth pastor so I have all those like cool youth pastor jokes and stuff that I would bust out and there was there's this long time joke anyone who is a Christian has heard this one where it's basically there's a big storm a flood and a guy is like stranded on his roof in the middle of this flood potentially going to in danger and someone comes along with a boat and he says hey man come on I'm going to save you well I got a little boat that we can go on he goes no I have faith God's going to save me leave me it's fine right and then later on a bigger boat comes along and he says no

30:58 God's Gonna Save Me it's fine right and then later a helicopter comes along and he says no I have faith God's Gonna Save Me it's fine obviously he died in this Blood goes to heaven and sees God and says God why didn't you save me he goes I sent a boat a bigger boat and a helicopter what more did you want me to do and I feel like with Banu guys's like hey man I had a medic medivac last week like I gave you your chances like I gave you Jess so that she got voted out before you Ang jalinski what are you doing with the opportunities I'm giving you here yeah not Chris calling me out holding receipts here saying now hold on a minute Chris just last week you said you couldn't see te winning because of how few confessionals he's had in episode three yeah I listen it's a good call out but the more I think about it I really feel like he's still consistently they going back to him there's there is some consistency there and the fact that he's being shown strategically ahead of soda at this point that he's clocked soda and that he thinks that she's a threat to his game I feel like we're seeing it for a reason I feel like there's a reason we're seeing that and I just don't see in like who in green is winning this season like who's had any like content around them in green that potentially could win this season like I don't think there's anyone there at all is De

32:18 And the only reason we're seeing blue is oh sorry purple is because purple is constantly going to Tribal Council yeah but their game's been their game's been tanked by Banu absolutely tanked and we haven't even spoken about this Tom like I know we're talking about Banu here it's hard to like even comprehend like how he got to this point but how do you go to decision Island which is a boring Theme by now but at least it was exciting by Banu going there and just folding flopping and giving them all of the information how do you go there tell them everything about the tribe and then go back and tell your tribe mates that you buried them there like I know that no more music wants to believe that you know Banu is Hamming it up for the cameras because he's also an actor similar to yourself but you know Tom as an actor like you know like I don't know mate like how did he do that like it feels like there was just some social awareness that wasn't there like he didn't understand like his actions if he was acting then that is incredible performance because like it felt soy yeah he's better than Ferris and Raymond that's for sure yeah no I think like he would have been fine honestly if he just didn't tell his tribemates like I don't know Q said they
