2:53 Escape this but you know it obviously without that in the show and they can actually move on to other characters that's just not so dominant yeah it's going to look up like was this a good episode Standalone I don't know like how it would you look in and of itself but I feel like as the pallet cleanser for post Banu like in Pre Banu and post Banu like that it feels like it's a good episode because we're just not in you know why it's a good episode I re it's you know it's definitely the best episode of the season right and you know why it's a good episode it's a good episode because finally we get to move on from the most boring part of New Age Survivor which is the premerge you know from the merge onwards it always gets good because we've got one big tribe there's more different relationships that can get built they seem to go less heavy on the advantages we don't have decision making Island that is now a part of it or boat ride Island whatever you want to call it you know we can now say goodbye to the Prem merge and the premerge have gotten I feel like so bad in recent season that they just kept shortening it like it feels like the pre merge gets shorter and shorter because even the producers know this is the least interesting part of the game let's just get into the merge that's where it gets fun I don't know why we don't just start with one full Tri

4:13 Yeah just go like one big tribe let's just go one Mega tribe yeah what is it million dollar Island Style just have the bandaid off they get to decide where they want to put their camps up everybody gets onto the island you say Hey you know Q you tell us where do you want to have your Camp who do you want to have in your tribe you know let the players decide the rules for it now I'm being a little bit I'm stirring a little bit but definitely I feel like now that the pre merge has gone and we're going into the merge it this is where New Age normally shines it doesn't shine pre merge but doesn't that say like cuz I've said for the longest time that the small tribe thing just makes it so much more difficult to negotiate and play and actually find numbers and hide and have pluralities and different options and stuff like it just makes it much more restrictive in the small tribe format and the fact that they're going to merge earlier because it adds different Dynamics and it makes it much more exciting like you said why do they stick with the small tribe format the three tribes it's insane like I thought maybe like if they want obviously you focus a lot more on the individuals in that sense in the in the small tribe format and if they're wanting the Dynamics or the relationships to stick stronger

5:33 So that when you get to merge we get the Reber before and the tika 3 that can actually stick with it and you get the payoff of the story lines that started in episode one with Tiff and Q and forced to bond and the tribes that are built early they're so much stronger because they're small that they stick all the way through like is that a thing you think is that the thought process because I don't understand why no I think I think they've got the three tribes smaller tribes because they're trying to prevent this is what Jeff have said on his podcast before they're trying to prevent their being a ponging when they get to the merch like just one big group sticking together voting the other side out which Jeff seems to believe is less exciting and it can be less exciting let's be honest but for me mer bonging I guess I gu yeah I guess I guess so and I mean let's get into some of the comments here because the chat I love the chat man they're going off they're popping off over here in the chat at the moment Sarah saying I love how Jeff roasted yanu the purple tribe it was great and I will say you know finally I was like spicy Jeff is back we need more of spicy Jeff on the show he was really ripping into them but one thing I will say right you mentioned here that it's a bonging at the at the front end and it kind of felt like Jeff was just really kicking them when they were already

6:53 Down they're already like the whole episode in the beginning is them sleeping in the cold in the dirt they don't have fire yeah like it's it I don't know like I felt bad for them to a degree to be honest and again it's the format of the show like we've seen it now so many times if you don't have a flint in the game you don't get to eat you don't get to stay warm at night it's a downward spiral and we've spoken about this before it's very difficult for a tribe with nothing to compete is the new meta gameplay Kahuna if you're someone that is thinking about playing Survival instead of prac iing trivia instead of building puzzles in your basement to go out and play Survivor learn how to make fire without Flint like I feel like that is the new like if you can make fire without Flint will anybody get rid of you pre merch when they know there's a chance your Flint is going to take be taken away from you I don't feel like they would you need fire in this game to be able to compete yeah the Flint thing again just another one of those things where Jeff is like I don't care what the audience says I don't care what fans like or want like this is my thing like I don't understand like cuz he's come out and said the Flint thing is staying no matter what you say like CU people apparently people have complained that like what's the point of the FL like why are we torturing these people for 11 days without like why like what

8:13 Point does it serve and he's like it's staying I don't care like it's part of Survivor now like you said and I'm like why like it's a weird heel to die on you know of all the things in Survivor that you want to preserve and maintain and you know the whatever like the essence of Survivor is a flint like the big deal you reckon I think it's a massive deal to be honest and I just want to say hello to reality realness we missed reality realness yesterday in the live and reality realness not to put you on the spot but if you want to jump on and come and have a chat with us feel free like I'm happy to send you a link so you can jump on and talk some survival with us but no pressure I know it's last minute you know if you wanted to jump on but yeah I think it's a big deal Kahuna I really do think that the Flint is a game changer at the that's what I'm saying like too much of a game changer like let them like we've I we've said in again like sorry I'm falling to it with Gabe Etc but Australia ver us where we've said in the past Russell complained that it's a little bit too soft in the Australian th but what we see is that maybe they have a bit more food but what we see is the physicality come out in competition right and they get the torture we get the torture porn we get to watch them suffer through physical challenges whereas they get to watch them suffer by sitting

9:33 Under a rock and not being able to move because they're so lethargic and like beaten up by the game like which one is more exciting yeah I for me it's more exciting when they've got energy they can think about votes they're a bit more entertaining I will say in the defense of this era if you've if you're a have and you have the food and you have things going your way like we saw with green this specific EP episode they're doing salsa on the beach they the vi Tri they're having a lot of fun out there so it's not like it's impossible for those moments to happen on Survivor users it's just when you're the tribe that doesn't have anything and you don't have a flint all of that goes out of the way you get people talking about quitting the game even though Q was kind of playing it up with Kenzie like for a moment there I was like is he really playing it up or is he actually serious he's like oh well if a backfires I'm going home and I'm eating because I feel like Q I don't know man I started so high with q and I'm like I'm really multiple times now by the way it's multiple times he's done that and it was off the back of him complaining about jalinski in episode one quitting the sweat or Savvy or whatever it was like he was so down on jalinski quitting that and then now multiple times he said he's thinking about quitting and he is playing it off like it's some sort of strategy but was

10:54 It's like when my when my kid falls over on purpose and he's like I did it on purpose you know yeah I feel like he was backtracking to just in case Kenzie does come to her saying hey Q was wanting to quit maybe he changed his mind and he's like no I still need to be in the game but I don't know like it's very strange early on here let's bring up a few more comments now you know there's been a lot of talk about us saying that this cast like for me personally like I don't know who I'm shouting for right now like I don't have like a horse in the race like Hunters may be that person for me but he severely disappointed me at the challenge of doing the chronological Survivor things I'm like this should have been basic you know this should have been very basic he got it wrong nailed I would have easily nailed it would have I think for me it would have been easy I realized when I looked at it I was like oh I don't pay attention to logos I Wasing I was like oh no I don't even like I definitely would have got born B that's but I think I think this is the thing he's a new he's a new school fan like he started later in life and then like you said he went to watch the seasons that his college roommate wanted him to watch which I'll be honest when I recommend Survivor to new

12:14 People I also do the same thing I only tell them I would always be like watch Kagan first then maybe watch you know token jeans and like I'll go to my favorite Seasons I won't necessar necessarily say go to Borneo so I get with he's coming from with that but because of what that from season one I know all of the seasons like I've been a day one fan right so I feel like for me it would have been easy I thought he was going to get it I bet you Tim would have gotten it if he didn't step out of the way because he to me seems to be like a legit fan and I kind of like Tim but I wanted to go somewhere else and we'll come back about the whole I guess boat ride Island and things like that but you know when we're struggling to get likable people in this cast where we can root for the cast doesn't even like each other Gabe here says Jim's exit press also enforces this cast hates each other she hates Sega and said if you the edit didn't show it so I mean if they don't like each other how the hell how the hell are we supposed to like them they're the ones that supposed to be like unified on the island they're going through this experience together I don't know why she's so pissed by the way when she's the one that made them dig for three days in like the pile or whatever it is like with ants biting them she was the one that was driving them around and playing them like fools and she's like pissed off a DE I don't know what they did out there maybe it was just too much Taylor Swift and Metallica yeah

13:35 It's yeah it's very interesting obviously we've got more people here in the live that we want to say hello to Kleen welcome to the live saying New Brunswick Canada here great podcast guys hunter lost his vote till Nami loses but they are merging Vinnie lost his vote at the journey how can you lose a vote you didn't have any thoughts yeah that was a great question I feel like you need to explain that to us as well they need to have like rules flashed up on our screens with the amount of different advantages and ways that you can lose votes these days it gets pretty confusing for the average viewer and we watch the show pretty intensely you know we try and get down all the details in the show and even we as super fans or big fans of the shows podcasters we miss a lot of these things as well I think how it works from previous seasons is that you lose your vote for an additional tribal so you would have lost your votee for one now you've lost your vote for two I do like the fact that they actually put in this one where Hunter goes and finds the beare advantage they actually had the Clause that when you get to the merge because we picked up on this earlier when someone else found the beare advantage but when you get the merge yeah you're gonna if you're not going to lose which Hunter is not going to lose we all know that going into the merge you'll have one more opportunity to get that vote we don't know what that opportunity

14:55 Is yet but there is a big chance that Hunter will have an idol at some point in this game how dangerous is that though for the fellow castmates of his because the guy's a physical Beast he seems to be pretty smart he's not the extroverted outgoing type of guy but he seems a bit more introverted a bit more analytical he read in this episode Venus extremely well when she was tailing him like I feel like Hunter is a legitimate threat at this stage to potentially go on and win this game my only issue with that is the flip side of his being able to read is that he can't hide it either like the way he interacted with Venus I thought was like way too this you got to be a little bit more accommodating even if it's completely fake like that's not how you survive her you know what I mean like he basically gave her the cold shoulder and made it look and then even when they won like the challenge again and they were all hyped like you know that was the playoffs of the century according to Ben and there was like all this stuff going on but his face was just like Stone he's so stoic like I don't know if he can play the game of the social the lying the B like all that side he's obviously very smart incredible at challenges but is he going to have that little bit where he can actually navigate the treachery of survivor without it coming across on his face like really obviously

16:15 You know like he doesn't seem like a good poker player perhaps yeah chrisa says I kind of love Hunter now love a king who is big enough of a fan to BU puzzles but doesn't know the order of the seasons insane it made me Chris is right we don't understand women we don't understand what they like you know they like someone that is half competent and half incompetent is what I'm getting from that phrase basically with Hunter play in the game but you know how you're so confident about the puzzle yeah what about this would have been by the way this would have been like the only puzzle in Survivor that I would have been like chronological was it was chronological order right y car Cara yeah car caramon was aired like they did that thing like Amazing Race where it filmed before it was actually aired so what is the chronological order no it would have been when it premiered okay it would have been when it premiered like I'm sure Jeff wasn't like oh I'm hoping I'm hoping that they know this okay let me see I think we're going to be able to get Chantell in on the live this should be spicy I don't know if chantella has actually spoken about any Survivor content season anyway so it'll be really good to get her thoughts in the meantime we've got Sarah asking do you think that with how

18:55 Schedule when you see it on the actual app it looks like have all day Friday off but really it was me doing a red eye into Friday and so I just read my schedule wrong like I just was not available Thursday at all and then I was supposed to do rap tonight but then because there was no daily drops that was cancelled so I'm like so we could have just done it on Friday like we planned to in the beginning but I guess it was meant to be for me to have the sabotage SE team or the team drama team drama sorry team drama I was gonna say that I feel like the life audience they were coming in hot they were trying to really pick some good winner winners or potential people that could do really well in that season and I think if we look at the draft like my s k said it the first two rows are really someone's winning it from the first two rows the rest of it was just where can you get points I feel like basically and that's how I approached the draft in any case but we had a lot of fun sad not to have you on the live for that but really happy that we get to you know get you to talk some survival with us have you spoken about survival at all this year like I've been so busy I don't think so I've did a draft but we didn't even go live for the draft we just chose like offline and so I don't think that I actually have talked about Survivor 46 yeah not yet but I

20:15 Will be going to Chicago for rjp to talk about it so that will probably be the first time but H this is prep for when you go there exactly about it well I haven't really been talking about it so like even just popping right now I'm like what happened on the episode like I haven't been thinking about it in the way of like a good episode to start on as far as the start of the rest of the season like you wouldn't want to be jumping on guest episodes for bino experience I meting a lot we were venting a lot on this podcast for the first I think I listened a few times for sure we were frustrated okay we were really frustrated with how this season has started and to be honest I just I feel like this season it's been hard and maybe it's because we didn't do the drive prior to the season but it's really hard to get behind players like who do you have at the moment Shel like who if you had to like choose someone now that you're like this is the person I'm liking this is the person I want to go deep and win this game who would be up there for you I think I'm going Tiffany I feel like she has a really good head on her shoulder she's experienced the fact that she's had to go to tribal so many times she's had to she has two allies that are really strong allies in q and in Kenzie and she has an idol so I feel like she has a lot of tools that are be able

21:35 To get far we saw with this particular episode I don't think we've gotten to this point in the recap today but we're just free flowing by the way did we do the Recaps at the moment we talk about everything so you just you talk about what you want to talk about that's fine we'll RI the free flow into when they go on the journey it's the vibe it's the vibe podcast over here I love The Vibes are fun that means I could just like go on a tangent it's schol so yeah when they went on the journey and we have q you know immediately saying like hey let's keep these people together let's like have our parachute and make it a powerful six so when we get to the merge we have like numbers and he is already vouching for Tiffany here and so like yes that could be bad but maybe like oh they're gonna be seen as a strong Duo especially since Bono was already suggested that like hey that they're really tight but the fact that she has people that are she's being pulled into a six without even her knowledge which I think is really great that people will be potentially protecting her without her even knowing about it yet so I just think that she's in a pretty good position I don't think she comes off as strong as Q does and so like she won't be taken out first I don't think I think people will be really scared of Q and like immunity challenges so I just I just think that she's set up to do pretty well now it's hard for me to say about other people because we haven't really seen that many other people

22:56 I'd like to hope that Hunter will do well just because he was like my number one draft pick and I want to win the draft but other than that like who do we really know much about I thought Randon was gonna do well and then he got many backed and so I was like okay well that's sound question was I like Randon was fun in the beginning and it feels like a lot of the people that are getting a bit of an edit and you're kind of liking some of them like for instance Jim I was enjoying some of the things she was doing up until this episode where she definitely came on to hard with a few players trying to like get them to vote with her or try and figure out where the votes were going but she was kind of likable in a way cuz she was trying to play like a sneaky villainous type of game I really enjoyed that but now we don't have her in the game either but I do agree Tiff definitely up there for me like she'd be one of the people I would be sort of shouting for right now be Tiff and probably Hunter and I'm really outside of that I don't really know yet I'm open I'm open for bu maybe Venus maybe but I think that she kind of I'm a fan of her Instagram the hunter situation like I think great tail him like you know be on him but like be a little bit less obvious about it or maybe try to be an ally with him because we saw when a similar situation happened with Maddie and Brandon

24:17 On whatever season a couple seasons ago you know that ended up getting her out of the game because he didn't trust her and like when they end up finding like the Idol together and you know it got her out of the game first so I just think that she could have maybe finessed the way that she handled going around with them instead of it making it seem like she was like the enemy to him and like some that's annoying that he doesn't want to be have around like I wish that she had done something a little bit different so that maybe he would want to align with her as opposed to be against her you know so I'm like I don't know if she's positioning herself very well considering she's already unlikable to the rest of the tribe like I don't know try to be likable yeah what's your what's your thought no I totally agree K what's your thoughts on you know I guess the players that are currently in the game the people that are out there you know we mentioned Hunter we mentioned Tiff maybe two of those people that you know I think fans will probably feel the same like the two of the more likable people that are in the game right now you kind of want to ro for them a little bit is there anyone we're missing out on anyone that sort of you feel like you know Venus was mentioned very briefly but I don't I don't know like Venus for me she's been up and down like even her annoying don't know if she's the way and this is there El sleeping what about do you think people are T because he's clearly

25:37 A big character this oh I forgot about him I just kind think I think te's up there obviously I would put te ahead of Hunter only because I think he's a little bit more sociable and able to navigate that without looking like as big of a threat as Hunter especially post merge like when Once Hunter just absolutely destroyed all of them in the first immunity challenge like people are going to be like let's this one if we have they might not even have a chance to be honest with you like to get him out who knows like unless it's going to be some of the one of the you know the small woman balancing enduring on Tiny pegs type of thing that might be a hunter downfall we don't know yet but I feel like he could even dominate those too so s and on Sig I think Maria is kind of feeling like she might be in a in a good position she threw away extra vote here but it seems like at least everyone even Tim going to the journey when asked for his plus one like I love how they're like are you gonna who's going to bring a date like what date should we bring and they all got their plus ones and Maria got Maria got Tim's plus one which we hadn't seen anything of like Premier episode Premier episode they bonded a little bit I guess the fact that they're both for parents yeah so that was like a thing but then what Tim doesn't know is that Maria's

26:57 Closer to Charlie which is what Sarah is saying here so Sarah saying I think the scene between Charlie and Maria means they both at least getting to the final four not sure if one of them wins but they don't just put that in for nothing and then she said look at the scene with Dean Austin last year with the Boston Robin Amber flashback so they did the what she means by this is the scene of Denise and Malcolm there was like a flashback in the beginning of the Season similar to how Dean Austin had a flashback off Boston Rob and Amber look at Sarah with the good takes here like really good they're doing the flashback stuff because we got it this episode so they did the Malcolm Denise and then this one we got the we had the whole montage we got B Rob and best part of the episode talking about all exact like why are they reminding us they're like hey guys remember when so much better remember how you love these characters way more like what are youing you know what it's kind of like I think they're using it to validate the new era people and be like look at that we have a similar situation like but those things happened organically you didn't have to telecast that like hey two older women younger boy coming together in Alliance it's going to be like

28:17 These two let's bring that on in and so I totally agree that I think it's kind of lazy for them to be using these flashbacks because I would have liked to see this emerge and like me be like oh my God these are a dynamic duo like they are their new entity like the a new Duo that people might want to emulate and so yeah I agree that they're theying they're reaching right now because they know like and Mak look worse because it doesn't stack up it's like compare and contrast like one of these things is not like the other but you're showing us how different it is this is not this is not TI this is not like boss Rob there's no Boston Rob on this you can't show Boston Rob and then expect us to go oh this is just as good like what are you talking about yeah there's a lot of people who've been saying this like I'm catching some comments on T here and I've seen a lot of people online sort of talking about this a t it gives a lot of side eye he comes across very mean gole hope he loses Sarah says T's negative scenes are being cut from the show that says something I've heard there's been some hidden scenes where potentially he wasn't nice to Venus that didn't make the main show so a lot of things happening behind the scenes potentially here gab says I think because he's a leader of the cool kits lines maybe that's why he's hard to cheer for but I don't

29:37 Feel like T is as like coming into the season I thought T would be this very popular character he's kind of like when we think about big out there characters in the past he's probably the biggest character of this season I would almost say like you know Caroline was very fun a couple of seasons ago she was a big you know character for That season and then Tony Vos is a big character you know your Boston robs are big characters you know normally those characters are love but something chel with t isn't connecting with the audience the way that it used to well okay I think the way that they're telling stories is completely different obviously but the fact that they started off the season with that extra long monologue of kevans that shows me that they actually still invest want to invest in him as a character and so I don't I don't know I mean I haven't seen all these scenes where he's being super negative and super nasty and super mean girl like I haven't seen those I mean I could see it being part of his like I could see it happening but like I haven't personally seen it with my own eyes and I'm wondering if it's because they haven't gone to Tribal Council they haven't had to play Survivor yet they're really just Kumbaya and hanging out at the campfire and really like you know maybe liking some people more than they're not liking others or they're annoyed by people but like they can't get rid of anybody so they just have to live with the people that are annoying them

30:58 And so maybe some you know quirks come out and like him being in a little bit more of a powerful position in that particular tribe numbers-wise like maybe yeah that's coming across as like him being unkind to Venus but like if they had gone to tribal and they had voted people off and know who they can trust and I think the dynamic would be different and he might be singing a different tune when he's worried potentially about going home and so I'm GNA give him some Grace Just for the fact that like they haven't really played Survivor yet they're just kind of in like a high school Vibe mode on a beach you know yeah I think is also YouTu saying here T want soda gone as the previous episode because he wants to be the only cool guy obviously soda has a really good social game as well she's really getting into a lot of people's ears I thought that was just good gameplay to be honest like I'm like if you see someone else being really social out there similar to how in the green tribe they saw Ben as this Potential Threat that's going to be very social and everybody likes him a lot you really should be taking the shot and they didn't take the shot this episode K they didn't end up going for Ben how shock were you because this whole episode kind of the way that they edited it kind of pointed towards Ben being the obvious vote in this position here and he didn't even have a vote that's what I'm kind of a bit annoyed at because I'm like we didn't see the like we saw

32:18 Maria and Charlie like approached but not like where the where like why was Jem the target where did that come from it felt like it was angels and like the three women seemed really strong and then for Maria to flip like that is obviously a very big Boon for Charlie it shows that he got his way he wanted to keep Ben and he was able to get Maria on side to go with the that Alliance which is pretty big for Charlie but I didn't think we saw enough in the edit to see why Jem became the target for them like we did see oh my gosh what's his name Tim didn't we see him talking about the fact that he thinks that jeem was the person that has the idol so I feel like we're going to have a flashback of like to explain what happened on this Tribal Council which I don't particularly like I know New Era Survivor they just want to surprise us with like oh this what this happened oh this person had an idol oh but we personally I like going on the journey I like seeing the strategy I like being able to figure out what's going on I don't like a surprise like they had not you thought watching this episode but actually this was happening behind the scenes and they don't even there's no flashback even if they voted out Jim at the end and they then had a flashback of where the decision was made on the island what the discussion was i' be more happy with that

1:16:28 Survival yeah it's so nothing that's why what 16% chance it's going to hit like a really good thing they did this episode which was not the first time they've done it but if this is going to be the trend I really appreciate in the challenges when everyone has to complete something like we saw last week when Maria was really struggling throwing the hoop and this week they had to each do the slingshot because otherwise it would have been Hunter rocking up and doing it in two seconds flat but the fact that Venus had to have a go and they make everyone like you're not complete until every that's pretty cool that's a good Innovation I like that I don't know if it's been a in the past but I've certainly noticed it this season I noticed that it wasn't a thing for even a large part of this season but they changed it and I think they probably changed it because they realized that Hunter was going toch time similar to what Jonathan did a couple of seasons ago in the in the Prem merg part of the game as well so especially in a tribe of only like six people like that one person if you have one person in the clutch position can really just carry you to the end right I think they've made it more obvious because I feel like in the past I've seen like everybody has to try it once before and then and then maybe the huness of the of the of the tribe goes multiple times but I do feel like in most circumstances they make everybody
