Survivor 50 | Episode 9 | Recap

Podcast episode · 25 Apr 2026 · 1 hr 9 min

Episode summary

Chris and Andre are joined by guest Drew (Angel Cake) to recap Survivor 50 episode 9, where Christian goes home after the Jimmy Fallon twist. They ask where Christian’s game went wrong, with Andre admitting he was wrong about him winning, and agree the twist left him no strategy because he had to vote for himself and read the note aloud. They also fault Christian for naming Ozzy as a target to Cirie. The group compares production twists with ones the players create, such as Rick Devens’ idol bluff, and spends time on Jeff Probst joining a challenge and Joe winning immunity. Cirie and Ozzy get most of the credit for running the game, and the hosts rank Ozzy, Cirie, Jonathan, Rizo and Aubry for the win. They also cover Cirie and Emily arguing over the rice, Rick’s chances, the fantasy scores with Andre on 45 points, and whether voting out Mike White early hurt Christian.

0:00 [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] >> Welcome back to the channel.

0:57 We're back to talk about Survivor 50 episode 9 here on the Nullified Take channel. And we've got a very special guest Andrea and I today. For those that have been around the block, you know, Survivor 50 brought back legends to come and play the game of Survivor 50. You guys knew I had to go back and bring back one of the oldest guests or I should say the legends of the Nullified Take co-hosts. Angel Cake is back here. Feels like old times Angel Cake Drew. How you doing? I'm doing good. I'm honored to be here on such an great episode to come and talk. Like I think of all the episodes that we had so far, this is probably the best one to be here to talk with both of you with. And I feel like Colby because I feel like the last time I was here on the channel, I didn't have as many gray hairs in my beard. And now it's like fully my chin. It's wild.

1:48 It's fine. I'm not the only person now with gray hairs in the beard. I like that. And you know, this season truly is in the hands of the fans. And you know, the community's spoke out early in the season. They wanted some Angel cake drew on the nullify take channel. So you know, we got to give the fans what they want and Drew's like Cochran to us here Andre. He's coming in on the boat. He's going to come give us some advice in the middle of the game in regards to how we should be analyzing this season. >> [laughter] >> It makes you Debbie, you know, he's coming in the boat be like guys, this is what you've been missing all season. I've been looking forward all jokes aside I've been looking forward to this recap with you Drew. Andre, how have you been? It's been a week since we've spoken. Are you still okay? You know, we've got are you okay day over here in Australia and I feel like I need to ask you. Are you okay after losing your number one draft pick for the season Christian?

2:39 That was a rough episode to watch. I have to I mean like beside the twist just to see the whole thing from beginning to end was just it was hard to watch. There were some tears shed for sure. Yeah, tough episode. I know that we had you know, Chris very coming in very hot saying worst twist ever. Drew you mentioned before the podcast started that the hourglass broke you and took you away from Survivor for a while. Is this truly worse than the hourglass was getting very close to the hourglass twist in the game. Where does this sit in rankings of worst twists ever? I think I think this was like rough to watch. I will say that I think seeing how the episode started with Christian and being like offering up a shot in the dark then also then throwing out Ozzy's name to Ozzy's number one.

3:34 It was kind of like okay, we're setting the rails to this and then the twist happens. And I'm like, okay, well, maybe it was already a sinking ship. That hourglass was just like added nowhere. And it was like I just remember that shocked and I was like I'm ready to riot. Like let's do this. >> [laughter] >> Ready to get on Reddit and let the producers know what the hell's going on with Survivor. will you hear say saying as well, Jimmy Fallon twist ducks and robs or spray sucks and robbed Christian. It feels like for me, Andre, like I know you've been on the Christian watch from the beginning of the season. You were quite >> [clears throat] >> adamant that he's probably like the player that could win this season and I've said throughout the season, I think it's too obvious. Like it just feels like he's being edited in such a way that surely they're not making it that obvious that he's winning unless he's winning in a Tony Vlachos over the top character kind of way, but not many people have been able to do that.

4:29 So, as our Christian expert, the person who's been keeping an eye on him throughout this game, where did it go wrong? Was it truly this twist cuz it feels like he potentially lost momentum even before he went onto the boat? Yeah, I think I think when you said the Tony Vlachos line, I think that's where I was coming from. I thought, okay, the last the last season that we had with returnees, we had Tony win. So, it's kind of like the obvious thing. It's like, okay, well, maybe the equity maybe wasn't like maybe a little bit more above like 10% which actually is pretty good equity I felt. but I was obviously wrong. I don't know what to make of the edit, but then if you actually think about sort of Christian as a character, he's a very good narrator. So, of course we're going to see him and of course we're going to see him cuz he went to pretty much every single tribal council. So, in retrospect, it's obvious. It's Christian. Of course he's going to get it.

5:19 If he comes back again and he come goes out third, he's still going to get a big edit because that's just who he is. So, I definitely wrong there. Maybe it was more that I wanted him to win you know, on addition to that. You know, I'm happy to sort of admit that I was wrong on that particular side. Yeah, well, I mean, Christian I feel this season has only done his chances he didn't do any damage to his chances of coming back and playing the game again. Like if we were do a game changer season, first player to ever vote himself out of the game, you know, he's definitely he's definitely in the in the talking. And I feel like in some ways Angel Cake like if we look at Christian's game this season, he had a really big game. He was in control of the narrative early on. He ran a lot of the votes. We got to see his perspective in most of those votes early on. And then he goes out in such an epic way. Like if you were to play Survivor, there's only one player that can only like truly win the show.

6:11 You know, at least he's got he's had his moment. He's had an edit this season. He's gone out in such an epic way where I know a lot of fans are going to be upset about it, but he's surely not going to be forgettable. And I think three times is definitely on the cards if they ever were to go back and get three time players back to come and play the game. I mean, look at Ozzy. Look at Cirie and how many times they right? So. Yeah, and I mean it's kind of interesting because there was so much so much talk in the beginning of this season, at least on Reddit, is like the Tiffany edit and the Chrissy edit, they were getting underutilized in the edit. While Christian was like surging and he was the narrator of the entire season, having the funny moments, having the strategic moments. And I think that only benefits you and helps the audience get you on like their side as well as then going out in this big way, seeing the audience react to not just this twist, but also Christian as a person leaving the game.

7:07 I feel like he has the wind at his sails even with him like chastising Jeff {slash} Jimmy Fallon because I don't know who that was pointed to. I mean, he did was he left it open when he was like, "You know who I'm talking about." kind of thing where I'm like there's some plausible deniability being like, "I'm not blaming Jeff and production, but >> [laughter] >> Yeah, it was amazing. And his eyebrows just said it all. Like it was so massive and big and I'm looking at and even Jeff was like, "Are you are you like angry at me? Or what's going on here?" You know, like he felt like he was like, "Are you joking?" >> [laughter] >> But we've been talking about this for ages. Like I feel like Jeff is just so out of touch sometimes when it comes to like what the fans want. And the season pretty much like there's jokes out there. It's in the in the hands of the celebrities and how much of the fans really had a say in what's happened so far in the season.

8:04 How you feeling Drew about the season in its totality coming in into this episode? How it's played out? Has it met your expectations coming into this? I know you're covering it on your channel as well. So for anyone I'm sure there's no one that's watching our channel cuz you know, most of people that watch both our channels kind of know about both of us. But if there's anyone that stumbled across us and haven't checked out Angel Cake's videos, go and check it out on the Angel Cake channel here on YouTube as well. He's also covering Survivor 50. But what's your overall thoughts? Has it sort of met that bar for you at this stage or is the jury still out depending on how the season turns out towards the end? So if you want a like a newcomers like look at Survivor, then you come to me cuz then I'm just giving you the off-the-cuff stuff of like where I'm coming from. But I think it's like it's weird. I feel like this roller coaster of emotions throughout this entire season so far because it's like sometimes the gameplay seems to be really good and the focus of the episodes.

9:00 I mean this is a returning season, known competitors, known game players. We've seen these players before. It's like I would have wished that they kind of went back to an old school type of Survivor episode like an kind of a format to kind of let the players dictate the game. I just feel like there's been moments where it doesn't feel like the players driving the game but the twists and the format that kind of like just enables players to just be like, "Okay, well, we'll just get rid of this person because it's helpful for me." or it's just makes sense to do this. Christian announcing himself, Genevieve at a numbers disadvantage on the blood moon twist, Coach and Chrissy kind of just being by themselves and nobody likes Coach. It just it was bound to happen. It just feels like instead of the players coming up with decisions, it just feels like, "Oh, this was an opportunity and we'll just do it now and we'll just get it on." I think that there have been some positives, but it I just feel like it's a mixed bag at this moment.

10:03 Especially with how much celebrity stuff that it has been there. It's kind of just like, "All right." It almost feels like real quick it almost feels like it's a spin-off Survivor season rather than a Survivor season in some ways where it's like, "Oh, we got all these celebrity cameos. Let's have some fun." It's like, "I never We've never done this before. I don't know what we're doing." Mhm. Yeah, it's and like the Australian Survivor is more like the OG now, which is crazy [clears throat] for me to say because it's always it's always been like full of twists, but like they in the Australian Survivor they've really had restraints on the twist they have. And the United the US version is just like it's essentially just Big Brother at this stage where it's like, "Yeah, here's a here's a twist that, you know, we're going to just throw it at the people." And I think what you said was really right. Like I this entire season it's kind of hard for me to think of a time where the vote off hasn't been because of a twist or because it's such a small amount of number and you kind of know where the alliance is already There's no room to maneuver.

11:04 So, we're not seeing the gameplay that I think we deserve from these players. Mhm. Yeah, [clears throat] but then again and I'm going to play devil's advocate here a little bit because normally I would agree with you guys, but I mean Cirie Yeah. >> like take a bow. Like I mean, if you're that level of gameplay like Cirie is and I think this is she spoke to this earlier in the season when she said, "The problem with the old school players is that they don't adapt, right?" And the she's got that ability. She's an old school player that can adapt to these twists and the things that are happening and to a certain degree Aubry as well. I'm going to say I was pretty impressed with Aubry this week as well making the call early to jump ship from the Rick Devens, Emily, and Christian alliance could be something that could help her and give her some longevity in the game. But Cerie's really controlling this game and she's showing that a good social strategic player can stall, maneuver their way to the top, right?

11:57 Even when the game is as twist heavy as this season has been so far, Andre. Well, to play devil's advocate to your devil's advocate. >> [laughter] >> Cerie If Cerie went on this journey and she knowing what we know about Cerie, she probably wouldn't have you know, outplayed Christian and be able to >> found a coconut, Andre. Like how can you say that? >> [laughter] >> Yeah, they just cut the entire bit where you sort of see the ropes go in. If she had to if she had to vote for herself, how well would she position not to suffer the same fate as Christian? And it's like she probably she probably would have gotten out of it, but that's kind of like >> so. the point, right? It's like it takes an amazing strategist, the probably the greatest of all time in terms of strategy, to get out of a situation like that.

12:51 If Ozzy did the same thing, I guess he had an idol, but like you know, pretty much anybody in the cast, like if Emily had gone, she would have been a marked person. Yeah. If Jonathan had gone, she he would probably have been marked as well. So, it's like what really could Christian have done strategically to get him out of there, especially since he was like backed into a corner. Like they forced him to read out that note in front of everybody and he had no Even if Christian had known what the note had said and then he had to read it out, at least he would have had some time to sort of go around it. So, I failed to see what he could have done. Yeah, it's an interesting call out there cuz I think I could have been on board with this twist. Firstly, from a you know, I know Educated you're someone who loves good cinematography and you love the scene. How good was the whole scene with him trying to put the puzzle together and it just like gets ripped away from him and yanked away from him.

13:43 It was like just so visually appealing seeing that in the moment, right? But my biggest problem with the twist Educated here isn't potentially the twist itself. It's that last bit. It's like you have to go like in Survivor the whole point of Survivor is to be able to lie, cheat, and steal your way to the top and you're removing the ability of him to go back and say I got something and I'm not telling you guys what it is. I'm playing it tonight, right? So you just that level of strategy just gets taken out of his hands by him having to be honest about the fact that he has to vote for himself. Yeah, I mean him going on the journey and losing it is bad. Him having to vote for himself is bad. But then having to read the note, I mean it's basically just saying vote for me, I'm pretty much out of here. Especially with everybody knowing where every single advantage is, knowing where every single idol is. And again, it's kind of like Genevieve's.

14:33 She found two Billie Eilish boomerang idols. Christian was the only other person to find one and now that one was wasted for because of peer pressure and so now Christian who could have had an idol in his pocket is just gone. He had to use his vote on himself and it just it just sucked. It was That was the worst part about it. And I did watch the Jimmy Fallon interview this morning about with Christian being on there and basically Jimmy Fallon was throwing production under the bus being like I thought of all these cool ideas and then production called me up and was like this is what we're thinking. What do you What do you feel about it? And Jimmy Fallon just was like okay, cool, do it. And so then they just slapped his name on there. So they were always going to do this twist. They were just looking for a celebrity to be able to use in the trailer and Christian saying Jimmy Fallon may hold my feet in if the game in his hands or whatever.

15:29 So it's like, okay, cool, I guess. Yeah. Yeah, and I mean the same thing with Billie Eilish. It's pretty clear now that Billie Eilish had nothing to do with it the idol and it was always it was always at the end of day production that were doing it. So I don't know what to make of it. Why don't they just take like they did with the like last week's twist? Let's just take international Survivor sort of production twists and just implement those in cuz they seem to be much better it turns out. Like don't [laughter] don't give don't give the American crew like the creative freedom to do it cuz it did Look what happened. Look what happened with the Billie Eilish idol. Yeah. Look at Jimmy Fallon. Well, we've got a we've got a we've got a we've got an American on the actual podcast. So let's ask the American like how did how did the paired destinies twist land for you last week? Did you think that it was something that you enjoyed? Did you not To give you a bit of an idea, that twist was first used by Survivor France way back and then Survivor South Africa used a version a lot more closer to what the US used probably about like what how many years now?

16:29 Like three four years ago. So this is the first time it's been on the US version of the show, but it's been used by international versions. so what did you think of the paired destinies twist? Did you Did you enjoy it? Do you think it brought a certain level of different kind of strategy to the game opposed to what we saw this week? I liked it in I liked it compared to all the other twists just because one, they got to put themselves into pairs. So however you determined what you wanted to do and who you want to be paired up with, it's in your hands. And so you're either signing up to do the challenge that way or however long it's going to last. I felt like that was good that they didn't have to like go for rocks or throw a die or anything like that. And then because of the And it just made sense because the cast was so big to start off the season that they had to pair down faster than they normally have to.

17:20 So, doing a double elimination, I felt like that was an actual like natural organic way of just not getting rid of two people out at once. And I And again, if you lose if you lost or was on the chopping block or whatever, you had a chance of talking. You had a chance of like getting other people to vote for somebody else or anything like that. So, overall, I felt like them just putting themselves in pairs and then letting the game play out, it kind of worked. And it was totally I was fine with it. And I'm not just saying that because I don't like Coach and he left. I'm legitimately like okay with it. it just felt like the other It's just It's just this one. And then the Blood Moon twist was also there. >> this last episode coming into the jury didn't change [laughter] him one bit on him. Like I mean, he was looking shocked.

18:11 >> shocked. But I do want to say like how dare we because how dare we like get rag on these celebrities with all their twists when Tyler Perry's idol in that one season was so perfect and everybody loved it that they wanted to keep doing They decided to They It's like they forgot. They forgot like, "Oh, celebrities, everybody loves them. They want their twists in this game." Remember that Tyler Perry thing? I remember everybody loving that one. It was like, "No, we all hated it." Everybody hated it. Actually, one of the things with the Tyler Perry idol with Tony, did he actually tell them what the special power was? Cuz I think he just claimed that he had a special power and it did have a special power, but he No one knew about it. But I think what he really did well was he actually he bluffed about what the actual power was that it went up to final three or final four, I think it was. Yeah. And it And I see some similarities to with what Rick did last episode, where the best twist is actually the twist that the players come up with that production did it.

19:11 So, it's like again, you know, that the idol in Tribal Council, it's an international twist. This wasn't done by production. In fact, production is literally said, "We're never going to do this." So, it's just let the players play and just be creative cuz that brings out the best TV, in my opinion. Don't >> But I think I think this episode kind of showed us that truly Jeff can't let the game play out. He needs to get involved in the game. To the point where he was actually competing eating in this last episode. Like his ego did not allow like it's like, "No. Me doing all these twists, the pants down one, just so that I can be entertained on the island cuz I'm getting a bit bored with the game right now. That's not enough. I have to physically get into the challenge and compete." Andre, for the first time ever, Jeff had to put his money where his mouth's at. What did you think of this? Did you enjoy seeing Jeff struggle against these competitors?

20:04 It's the best twist this season. >> [laughter] >> Cuz it didn't have any stakes. And we just we got to see the really great sassy Jeff from older years. And I Yeah. kind of made me wish old wish for old Jeff. I want old Jeff to be back. I want him to be the sassy prick that he's always been. He hasn't been in the last it feels like since COVID. so, I loved it. I thought there was like a you know, old school you got to see what you what I what I really liked about Jeff back in the day, you know, back in back in the like very early on you saw the attack zone. You saw the Penner interaction. It was amazing. Yeah, that was the best part of the season, to be honest. Yeah, when Jeff back in the day when he got annoyed with someone, he let them know, you know, in no uncertain terms on these games. And you know, I feel like Drew, we both watch The Challenge and we enjoy T.J.

20:57 Sometimes getting a little bit sassy with some of the players if they're trying to quit and things like that. It kind of had a little bit of that vibe to it. and in some ways, I want to know, do you think, Drew, there's a chance that Survivor maybe dip their toes into the pool to see are people still craving this Jeff? Because Jeff has become so soft and maybe they're like, okay, let's just see how the new school fans who don't know this side of Jeff react. Will they enjoy seeing Jeff being a little bit more savvy? Do you think we could potentially, if there's some good fan reaction to it, we could see sassy Jeff come back in season 51? He said he would go soft on them after this for the rest of the season cuz he now has a new found respect. But maybe season 51 we get a little bit more of a sassy Jeff back in the game. I'll be honest. I did a massive rewatch during season 40 getting ready for like winners at war and stuff and watching it the this past week I was like, I don't remember this Jeff.

21:49 Like I'm sure I watched it during that rewatch but I was like, there were some drops in there that I was like, wow, I out of all the sassiness they picked those. Like he said the I don't want to say it here but they I mean he cursed on there and I was like, holy heck, like that's surprising that CBS would be like, yeah, sign off on that one. Let's do that one. I was surprised. I was surprised by all that and yeah, I almost worry that it does like the opposite effect because he was like asking for a time, he only lasted seven and a half minutes, even though Jonathan lasted only 12 minutes. I mean, this competition didn't last very long. Joe was going to win this thing it seemed like easily. but one thing I did really find really funny is when Jeff did the twist and hit the crate and it folded open and everybody would just stood there paused, silent, confused and he was like, What's going on?

22:39 I'm going to play. You should all be excited. I was Like he was like looking for somebody to be like, oh my gosh and everything and then Chris Kristen said it with Jonathan where he was like, five people. I want five people and nobody raised their hands and then he was like reluctantly like, all right, four. If they said three, he would have been like, all right, three, fine. Like he I wonder how low they could have gotten it cuz he really wanted to play. Yeah, so bad. I think I think it exposed how much Jeff wants to be involved in the game without the true stakes of being able to get voted out in the game. But, yeah, he struggled and I was a bit surprised I guess Jeff is getting a bit older now, but for some other reason I've always thought Jeff is more athletic than probably what he is. This is a very tough challenge to do though. Joe Andre I didn't watch that far into that season where he won it, but he How long was he up there for in his original season?

23:30 >> Over an hour. Cuz there was the other guy, who was it? David? And that guy was jacked and he beat David. It's like this is a dude that's like probably deadlifting every day. But I It makes sense. Like, he's a firefighter, right? Like, what does he do What do firefighters do? They hold onto a massive hose. So, he's doing that all day. He's He could probably last for 3 hours, really. Yeah, all grip strength and, you know, forearm strength on that one. But, yeah, Joe winning again, Andre. Like, you know, he's a difficult character to It's like sometimes you like him, sometimes you don't like him. He was funny the way that he was mocking Rick Devens and kind of, you know, that conversation that he had with Cirie reminded me of kind of what I said to you in the previous episode on the podcast where I said, "I feel like Rick was too He went for that idol immediately. There was no looking around to kind of try and sell it like I think it's in this vicinity." He went straight for it.

24:25 And even Joe who doesn't have that much game play was like, "That was sloppy." And in that moment, do you think that, you know, this whole Rick Devens thing playing the idol, now not playing it in this specific episode, do you think that the cat's out of the bag at this stage? People know it's clearly a fake. He would have played it by now. Do you think there's still people who are thinking, "But what if?" Oh, I know. I think I think Joe thinks that it's a real idol, for sure. I don't think Joe knows enough about the game to realize that it's that it's fake, to be to be 100% honest. Like, they probably suspect it. We're not seeing it being suspected. But I don't think, no matter what Rick would have done in terms of like maybe take takes an extra 5 seconds to do it. I think Joe will still would have hated him. In fact, he would probably would have hated him more to be honest. It didn't really matter cuz they It's clearly one of the rivalries of the season. You know, Joe and Joe and Rick.

25:16 But I think with Rick and maybe to quote you know, Big Brother's Dr. Will, he made the target so big that it became invisible. And we might be seeing this in action. Like I think this actually might be the This is the way that Rick plays. Like Rick plays big. Rick plays and always tries to deflect the target off himself. And he does a damn good job about it. And we've seen it happen like over the last two Tribal Councils. He could have been voted off last week. Maybe jury's still out on that. But he definitely should have been voted off this week if not for Jimmy Fallon. So, you know, I think that there is There's I've got some hope left for Rick. >> [laughter] >> Like Yeah. Yeah. I got I got to have to ask this, you know, a player that I'm perplexed by a lot Drew in the game. And I was in her original season.

26:06 I don't really know if they're actually even a good player. Like I'm very 50/50 on Sometimes they've got good reads. They seem to be cerebral and they can like pick up on little nuances and things like that. But they always overplay in these moments. It's Emily, you know, flipping. And obviously Emily did end up getting the information from Rick that it's not a real idol in this episode. Do you think that's the thing that could be Devens downfall? Because she's been shown not to keep secrets this season. I'm actually surprised it didn't come up this week. Cuz he did I mean he told her straight up. And everything just leaks out when it comes to Emily. Whether it's like it doesn't even feel like it's like she purposely does it. It just happens. Like she just feels like everybody knows about it. So, I'm actually surprised it didn't come up this week.

26:57 I'm sure it'll come up possibly next week, maybe. But it feels like Rick is going scorched earth next week in the preview where he's like, I don't care. Christian's gone. I'm on I'm living on borrowed time. Let's just burn everything to the ground kind of vibe. And I also think that it is like I don't know. I'm getting really tired of the honesty and integrity trio because it's like they come back from Tribal Council and they're blaming Rick for picking up they don't know. I mean, they're like you show us and they're like bullying Christian into like you make him show you. And Christian's like, I'm no, don't do it. No, and they're like, you were the reason why Coach and Chrissy and we lost two people. When Stephanie and Joe also voted Chrissy and Coach out of there. Like you did it. Like at the end of the day, you voted your own You could have kept on the Rick train and just made him play the idol or see what happens, but they completely just like folded and it's just I'm just so tired of them.

27:53 I feel like most of them are living off of borrowed time, too. so, I'm just like please, just let's play Survivor. Like please. Yeah, it's interesting you mentioned that alliance because obviously Jonathan would be a part of that alliance, but he seems to have had a really good edit this season. Like we're seeing a lot of his reasoning. We're seeing him change his game in a lot of ways where he's willing to have conversations with people who aren't necessarily in his in his circle and we saw Aubry go to him in this specific episode having that conversation about potentially working together in the game and that could be a duo that could work quite well together because I don't think people are going to sort of put Jonathan and Aubry together Andre as a potential duo in the game that can work. Like I still have hope for both of them and I also I'm starting to see like is it too obvious Andre? Like who else is in the running at this stage really to win this thing?

28:45 I would say Aubry's had a pretty consistent edit, even though for the largest part of the season it hasn't been an enjoyable one to watch. I think for me it's Ozzy. Ozzy with a bullet, I think. Ozzy probably has like 30, 40 maybe percent of the equity. I just don't I don't see I see all of Cirie's equity transferring over to Ozzy, because I think the story and I could be wrong. I was wrong about Christian, but I think the story they're trying to tell is like Cirie and Ozzy are really close and it will come down to a decision. Will Ozzy want to take Cirie to the end? And I feel like if you're Ozzy, you have to say you have to backstab Cirie, I'm sorry to say. I know the audience don't want it, but maybe I'm wrong. It's in the hands of the fans, so maybe you know, the fans want Cirie to win. Let's do that. I don't know who else could have the equity, cuz Rizo's had a quite couple of quiet weeks, but he was the one that really pushed back on the plan, which I found quite interesting.

29:44 >> me throw Let me throw this at you. there's only four players left in the game that have had a confessional every single episode, right? And since season 41, every single winner has had a confessional every single episode, because there was such a big backlash when Erica won. And Erica was not someone that was visible enough, so the fans couldn't sort of resonate with her win. So the four players currently left in the game that have had a confessional every episode is Aubry, it's Emily, which I don't think Emily's in the running. I think she's Emily's had a confessional every single episode. it is Ozzy and then Rizo. Those are the only four people that have had something every single and there's a lot of people who are like online, I'm noticing a lot of people are thinking Ozzy. I think you and I Andre started picking up on Ozzy probably like couple of episodes ago we started saying Ozzy's looking really good at the moment, the way that the story's being portrayed around him.

30:39 There's a lot of people that are very hot on Rizo as well online and they think he's got a chance. I just don't know Angel Cake. Like Rizo is a kid, he's 25 years old. There's a lot of people that are coming back into this game that are experienced. They've played multiple times. Some of them have had to wait years to come back and play this game. He doesn't have the same connections even outside of the game. Like it seems like a bit of a stretch for a kid. Like he is playing a good game this week because, you know, Rizo is the one who looked like he convinced Cirie and everybody to move away from voting for Emily and to rather vote for Christian. He's the one that said, "No, we're not doing Emily. We're going for Christian." Right? So, it could have easily been missed, but he was the one who kind of felt like pulled them back onto Christian for the vote. Yeah. And I want to say right now, I got goosebumps with you bringing up the meta gaming and the looking into the edit. That just makes me feel great knowing that somebody's going through spreadsheets and figuring out like predictions and everything.

31:35 Because that's a great tidbit. It's tough because I think truly I think for the jury, I want to throw this out there. After watching House of Villains for the last like three seasons, I just covered it on my Patreon. It's >> Don't spoil it. I will not. Don't spoil. I haven't seen the latest one, but I want to watch it because I saw that Paul came back and that'd be interesting. >> I love Paul, yeah. Okay. So, I'll just talk from season 2 because season 2 had Wes and Safaree and everything. And it's like we've gotten to a point where in Survivor, the jury wants to vote even if they were like backstabbed or anything, they want to vote for the person that best encapsulates what a true sole survivor is. It And if you can fully express your game, they will give you the win. So, if Rizo can like I feel like it's a wide open field in the in the in the final three in Survivor every single season that I watched when it comes down to can you tell me your game, what moves did you do, and why should you be crowned this?

32:39 Whereas with other with other shows it feels like, "I didn't like you, so whatever." kind of vibe. So, I almost feel like there's this like sense of like anybody could win it here. It's tough because it really truly feels like the legacy players of like Ozzy and Cirie, if they were to make it to the final tribal, it's tough to be like it's tough to think why how could you not? If they were to go through this entire game, you've seen them play multiple seasons, you know their gameplay, you know that they're a threat from day one being on this beach, and they make it to the final three, like how can you deny even thinking about giving your vote to an Ozzy or Cirie if they made it that deep into the game. When you knew they were like under your nose the they're the entire time. I mean, how many times did we see the tribe swap with Cirie and D and Jonathan both were like, "Cirie's the first one out.

33:34 If we can go to Tribal Council, my friend told me I have to get rid of her." And then lo and behold, she's still here past the blood moon twist plat past all this stuff. And it's just like I don't know. It's tough, but I think anybody could win, but I just think that it's really tough when you have like Cirie who was like marked on day one going to the first Tribal Council, and here she is in the final 10. And everybody knows that she's a she's lethal. She's in to win the whole >> gets there, I feel like she wins. Like everything was seeing from her this season, how people want to work with her, they gravitate towards her, the fact that they want to vote her out and then eventually forget about it. Yeah, it's getting there. I mean, even >> Ozzy is there in the calculation. I think Ozzy is there. If she's there with Ozzy, I think it could be a coin flip depending, cuz Ozzy has all the competitions and everything, and he has the he's he has just as good of a social game as she is right now.

34:26 I mean, she he has everybody like behind him, and he has an idol that he's not even thinking about using. People don't even want to flush it out or anything like that. >> but we've seen I just want to before I read Chris is thinking we've seen this play out before with Ozzy though, didn't we? We saw this in his first season. He went with the strategist, the mastermind to the end and then Yul ended up getting the win because people respected that Yul actually controlled the flow of the game while Ozzy was the challenge piece. It was a close vote between the two of them, but I feel like Cirie is experienced enough and has thought about this moment enough that if she was to get to the final Tribal Council here, she'd be like I was the brains to Ozzy who was my Frankenstein, the monster that I took out there and enabled to go and win the challenges and sort of be the muscle while I was the one who was pointing the gun in the direction. He might be the gun, I was the one who pulled the trigger, right?

35:17 Because she's doing all the thinking. He's outsourcing, I feel like this whole season. This whole story has been I want to vote this way, actually no, Ozzy this way. Even this last episode, he was he was kind of like I want to vote for Emily and then they ended up voting for Christian. In any case, right Andre? Like it's a it's a it's an interesting fan theory to think about both of them hitting the final. I think the more likely thing for Ozzy is either he takes her out or someone else snipes Cirie and then he gets the credit for all of the moves that Cirie made him help them make, I feel like in the game. I don't know if he can beat her head on. I don't know who's going to snipe Like the only one that makes sense to snipe Cirie is Ozzy cuz narratively they haven't really set up anybody like being that close and it's usually you know, it's Julius Caesar, you get stabbed in the back by Brutus, right? Like that's like that's an old story. That's we've seen that story play out plenty of times.

36:09 I think it's pretty most likely going to be like a final four with the with the big three, Ozzy, Cirie and Ricard. I think Ricard is getting to another 41 reference. I think he's playing a Xander game. Pretty good game, didn't win. Too young, people saw him as sort of I don't know who the Erica in the situation is, maybe there is no Erica. maybe the Erica is the Ozzy, right? the well the winner. I think that's probably what's going to happen. >> in this case. It'll be tough. >> Yeah. >> [laughter] >> Yeah, that might be a little rough >> [laughter] >> narratively speaking. yeah, I mean I just don't know who the fourth person in that sort of that final four might be, right? It could be >> Yeah. And who's getting that final Who else is getting that final three edit? I would I would argue that's Jonathan that's getting the final three edits.

37:02 Yeah. I think she he's a losing finalist there with Probst Reserve. >> I agree with you on that. I feel like Jonathan is potentially someone like that the editors still following him enough and giving us enough of visibility of what he's doing where he could easily make it to the final but not have the respect of the jury to actually win because he's thinking he's like he thought he made the D move. The D move wasn't the Jonathan thing when that move happened, right? So he's going to go out there and he's going to claim certain moves I think where the jury's going to be like actually that wasn't your move, right? >> Especially Coach. Coach is going to be like I was the one. I was the one that was running around the entire island and doing all this other stuff. So I mean if Jonathan really does try to take that, Coach is going to tell everybody on jury like don't do that. I was the one that did it. I wanted to take her out and all this other stuff. Yeah, there was that cocky sort of confessional where he's like notch on my belt, notch on my belt.

37:53 I'm like I'm not entirely sure the jury's going to see that, right? >> [laughter] >> I'm sorry to say. and can I just say how wild that confessional was cuz that was after the Jimmy Fallon, after the note read, and then also Christian is handing him his shine in the dark. It's like dude, he is done. He is on the floor in the fetal position and you're sitting there being like I took [laughter] him out. This was all me. And it's like bro, calm down. Like he's done. He's done. But at least at least he had like he had that moment where he gave him the shot in the dark back as he was leaving. I feel like that was a that was a pretty that was a good human moment cuz obviously you get to play Survivor every now and again like if you're lucky you twice like Christian did but it's like something that you'd probably want to keep as a momento going back home or something like that. So I thought that was a good move and definitely a jury management move as well.

38:45 Like a good human move but also like Christian would probably look at that favorably I would imagine. but it's another reason why this whole Jimmy Fallon thing was just so bad because with him being forced to vote for himself he was forced not to be able to play the shot in the dark. So he just really had absolutely no nothing he could have defended himself on. You know what that reminds me of that moment? It reminds me of again Ozzy's first season when I think it was Yul gave Jonathan back his hat on the jury. And it's like there's some parallels there. I think that like there's a reason that he did it, right? It's like maybe Christian probably could see through it. Like he could give it back to him in jury. Like it's fine but he did it for a game reason. He did it for a TV reason, too. Yeah. Yeah, for sure. Was there anything else big that happened this episode that we kind of missed talking about so far? I feel like we've talked about most of the main sort of talking points.

39:38 Like I mean Cirie's kind of in the middle. She's the way controlling people pulling them together. I think the one thing we didn't to talk about actually and I wanted to bring it up earlier was there's a lot of talk about Christian and how the twist sunk his game like Adam's puzzle. But I actually think that the biggest misplay here by Christian was the fact that he told Cirie that he wanted to gun for Ozzy. And Cirie said, "Well, in the rankings of the people that I want to work with in this game, Christian is number three. So I can't have my number one and my number two go." So I feel like he was in a great position, Andre, before he sniped or tried to snipe Ozzy in this moment and how did he misplace so badly in this case? I mean, we're all fans of Survivor. We've seen Cirie and Ozzy on the same season. Yes, Cirie backstabbed Ozzy in that season and took him out, but they didn't have like a previous relationship really in the game.

40:30 It feels like these two players have played together a few times now in the game. They would know each other. They would have had conversations outside of the game in a social manner, maybe at a Survivor after party or something like that where bonds would have formed. Surely, you're not going to take a direct like that at someone like Cirie and Ozzy who they clearly marked early in the season as two players that were going to work together this season. Yeah, I know that was bad gameplay by Christian. Like it pains me to say it, but that was not good gameplay. Maybe he was frazzled in the moment. Maybe he just was backed into a corner. All of the above can be true, but I feel like there are better moves to do than to throw Ozzy under the Throw anyone else under the bus. Throw Tiffany under the bus. Throw Jonathan under the Throw anybody Throw Stephanie under the bus. It's going for Stephanie. It's like You know, I guess I guess anybody The thing is that anybody that Christian could throw under the bus to Cirie's aligned with everybody.

41:23 So, the real thing is it's like it doesn't matter who he who threw under who he threw under the bus. Cirie would have clocked onto it, run back to the person he was throwing under the bus, and turned the Maybe the best thing to do would have just to be do nothing. Just sit on the hammock. Pull a coach. Sail a few haikus. And hopefully it blows over and hopefully that Emily can dig her own grave, you know, or just I don't know, sacrifice Rick or something. It's just anything, you know, anyone but me. Just try to be conservative. Maybe that's your time to do it. I'm not sure. but maybe I think he's his game was marked when he kind of like essentially didn't backstab Jonathan but kind of like double played him last episode and that kind of made him a marked man as well. And that was poor gameplay, too. He should have just owned the owned it. He should have said, "I've got an alliance with Rick. not going to vote for them." and not lie to because he knew that he was lying to Jonathan.

42:16 So, it was a very bad two episodes for Christian and I hate to say it cuz I'm biggest Christian fan. But, you know, it's like you're most critical to the ones that you love, right? I think he was so close with Rick, too, that I felt like everybody kind of grouped them together the entire way. So, if Rick is in trouble, Christian is in trouble. And I think I agree with you the most as like there's a time where you have to like do as much as you can, but you sometimes you just got to cut loose and then just hope for the best, you know? Rick is pretty much kind of marked after doing that stunt. That was supposed to be break cla- break glass in case of emergency and you can't really put the glass shards back together and make it seem like nobody's going to vote for him. I mean, he's living off of borrowed time. So, it's like But, I also want to throw this out there like I think it's a testament to Cirie and Ozzy's alliance that they are from the they started out on the same tribe with Christian and Christian feels good enough with Cirie and is unaware of the fact of how close that her and Ozzy are that he's willing to throw Ozzy's name out there to Cirie.

43:27 To where Cirie's like that's my number two dog. I got to you guys get out of here. Like it's wild that it's like that's the move that he decides to do instead of anywhere else. I mean, I don't know. It's pretty interesting, but I know that Ozzy has the idol. They know that he has an idol. Why not just try to flush it? Trying to like trying to paint the bigger target. Nobody's talking about this idol. It's there. Like why don't we try to get this out because we're just giving him a second chance at the end of the day over and over again. Both Ozzy and Cirie, they've got absolutely no heat on their back at the moment with those idols. They've not even talked about potentially playing it at the stage in the game. It is shocking to me that they've been able to duck and weave, bob and weave, you know, to use a boxing term here, all the way to the end. And yeah, it's an interesting one.

44:18 Could we get it to a position where Rizzio goes through another season without having to play the idol until the very end? It's kind of looking like it might happen. He might be a legend just by virtue of that happening two seasons in a row where we all said there's no way this kid's coming into a season with battle-hardened veterans playing the game, dangling the idol every single episode saying I'm not I'm going to play it and then it doesn't play it. And at least to his credit, he hasn't been theatrical about it this season. He's kind of kept it on the down low and I sort of hope that people forget about the fact that he's got that idol, you know? So, it's very interesting. And then another player, obviously we spoke about it a little bit earlier on, but Emily, same thing as Christian, really went to bat for this alliance here in this episode trying to shift the target onto Ozzy, burned that bridge with Ozzy as well. Andre, I'm not feeling very good for Emily at this stage. Like, I do think next week and we may be in for a pretty boring episode.

45:08 It might be Emily and Rick Devens at the bottom and this is where I think Emily could betray Rick by saying he doesn't have an idol or something like that. But it's Is it going to be that predictable going into the next round of play? It kind of feels like it could be. I don't. I think that it's sort of like the pendulum sort of theory where like if you if we make the assumption that Ozzy and Cirie and Rizzio are essentially running the game, essentially now that side has been weakened, now it's going to the other three people. It's sort of It's kind of like a It's like the This is the classic sort of like Rob Cesternino game where you sort of play two sides against each other and you're sitting in the middle and then you're the one actually dictating everything. So, it's just It's just you get a you get off like maybe not Jonathan, but you get off like a Stephanie or I reckon Joe. A Joe, yeah. Probably Joe. And then and then you go to the next side and you get out like an Emily and then you go to the next side and then you So, I think that's probably what's going to happen cuz nobody really knows Clearly, nobody knows that Rizo was with Cirie and Ozzy and it seems like that nobody really knows that Cirie and Ozzy are really that close either.

46:13 So, I don't know how they got away with it, how they don't realize this is the case, but I think when you see it in the hammock when Cirie is talking to Ozzy and she rats out Christian and Ozzy like Cirie knows him so well. It's like Don't laugh. Don't smile. Don't make that face. Don't do anything. And she knows him to the T. And Ozzy's like, "No, don't worry. I'm just going to chill. I'm just going to walk over here. And I'm not [laughter] going to say anything to anybody." And it's like that's so masterful. I mean, even for somebody like I mean, Ozzy's played like five times. So, he's sort of like he's been doing it. But I'm coming up with like a working theory that someone like Ozzy or like players in general, they tend to take the take the attributes. It's a kind of like the Breaking Bad rules of why taking the attributes of the winner of their season. And what season was Ozzy and Cirie both on?

47:05 Game Changers. Sarah Lacina. Sarah Lacina game. Everybody came to Sarah Lacina. They gave the information and she was the one that basically dictated everything. And I think that this is the game that they're playing. They saw it work once and they want to replicate that game. And I think they're doing it masterfully. I will say that you say that we could get a boring episode, but how can you say we're going to get a boring episode when Mr. Beast is going to be joining the island with a briefcase? I mean, we got one Jimmy this week that everybody was talking about. >> yeah. >> [laughter] >> So, I mean, another Jimmy's coming in. jeez. The What was it called? The Beware Advantage, but it's like an Super Beware Advantage or something. Yeah, >> [laughter] >> very interesting. Stupid Beware Advantage. Yeah, I mean >> I swear if this gets out to Cirie, I'm going to be upset. Oh, people will stop watching.

47:57 People will stop watching if that happens. Chris is not very happy with that comment. [laughter] Yeah, I don't know what to expect. But yeah I just I just want it over with. If we can get him in when I wasn't feeling great about the episode by the end, but when I saw him in the preview I was like the only thing in my mind was good, get him done with let's not get take this to the final eight or final seven. Let's get this twist out of here and then maybe final nine can just do whatever they need to do. Whatever this twist is just let it come and go and let's let the rest of the game just play out, please. Let's have zero expectations. That way we cannot be disappointed. Let's just like let's just say this is going to be the worst episode of all time. And if it if it turns out to be like a one out of 10, we'll be happy. >> [laughter] >> We've got we've got like four episodes left for the season I reckon and we've got 10 players in the game like something's going to happen somewhere.

48:49 We're going to have another like double elimination or something before the end of the season. I feel like we're due another one at some point. Yeah, there's probably going to be like a two-hour episode at some point to just get out a couple more people. Like >> Is the next episode a two-hour? Seems like it could be. Could be. Yeah. >> Maybe. Let's have no more celebrities in the final nine or final 10. Well, final 10 is we're going to have Mr. Beast. So hopefully from the final nine we've got it done and it's now truly in the hands of the fans. Like I feel like for this season being hands of the fans, we haven't had that many like great fan votes that have been revealed throughout this game. >> any fan votes. >> [laughter] >> It's all been it's all been Jeff and the production team and what they've wanted to do every single episode. Trying to think is there anybody else that we haven't spoken about really that's been playing? Like I just think the Joe move makes sense to me because in a in a lot of ways like Ozzy's trying to get the record for most immunity wins.

49:45 Like there's only one way to do that. It's get rid of Joe cuz Joe's too bloody good at these immunity challenges and he is a threat out there. So as soon as he's vulnerable, I'd say take the shot at him. Like, Jonathan's big, but we've Take him to the end. He's like a goat. >> No, Conwood. Joe. Yeah. Yeah, exactly. >> Yeah, but, Ozzy wants that record, Andre. I reckon Ozzy Like, if you're Ozzy, you're like, I can't have Boston Rob be the guy with the most immunity wins. Like, no one looks at Boston [laughter] Rob as like an immunity beast. You know, it's me, Ozzy. I'm the immunity beast. I'm the jungle man. Yeah. >> Jungle man. Like, It's bound to happen. It's bound to happen. Yeah. Yeah, they've been calling her out. >> spoken about Tiffany. Tiffany wanted to get out Emily and I think the reason why we haven't spoken about Tiffany is cuz she was not consequential at all in the strategy at all. So, yeah, they're a bit of a nothing. Well, why do they even show that plan?

50:36 I guess maybe to add a little bit more sort of intrigue. >> Yeah. Spence. Yeah. Yeah, possibly. 95% of the episode was Christian, but let's have 3 minutes right before Tribal Council to be like, what if we did Emily? How crazy would that be? The whole episode would have been like, I don't know. People would have been like, finally, cool. Christian's gone. But, then it would have been like, the whole episode was Christian. What was that all about? Kind of thing. Yeah, that would have been we didn't talk about them arguing about rice. When they finally got the rice, and Emily and Cirie were just like Cirie was legit getting pissed. She's like, I've been doing this since you've not even been a twinkle in your mother's eye. Like, she's so good at the confessionals and so sassy about that. I would have just been like, what is Emily And again, this is the whole thing about Emily. It's just like, she just doesn't have these social reads sometimes. Like, where she's just getting in a fight with Cirie over making rice.

51:28 Stay away from the rice, Andre, if you're ever out there to go play Survivor. Like, I would not be criticizing or telling anybody how to cook the rice, you know? And this is why we need food in the game, Andre, because whenever they don't have these Like, we don't get these moments anymore in Survivor. It was such an old school moment, I feel like. Like, we had the old school moment with Rizzio being lazy at camp in the beginning of the season, not working and then we had the rice. So, you know, for all the old school fans we're bringing it back and maybe another good reason to have more food in the future. Oh, yeah. I don't think we were supposed to like Emily there. >> [laughter] >> So, we're squarely on Cirie's side. Well, it's like not only has Cirie cooked probably tons of rice at home, she's played this game what four or five times? Like I'm sure she has cooked a ton on Survivor to know like the portions, the water, the all of this stuff. So, Emily coming in after just playing one season is like, "Oh, too much rice?" It's like, let's all calm down, please.

52:23 Let's all take a deep breath. >> than the rice that I have at home, actually. That I cook [laughter] at home. It's like it's very >> really fluffy. cooked the rice. Yeah. Yeah, very fluffy rice. yeah, I think this is probably a testament to how twist heavy this episode was and it comes back to what you said, Drew. It's like the biggest part of the episode that we talked about was the twist and the way that Drick was voted out. And how the tribal council kind of played out. There wasn't too much game play around that because of the fact that it was so dominant by that and kind of took a little bit of the mystique out of the game, but we do need to talk about our draft and we do need to look at where things are sitting in regards to that. and obviously on the draft something that I know Andre you're not going to be too happy with, but you lose one of your two remaining players left in the game with Christian your number one overall draft pick out. TNT community still leading the charge here with five people left in their draft.

53:18 Andre has got Drick Devens. It's Devens or bust at this point, Andre. >> good. It is not looking good. [laughter] You've got to hope that, you know, that you got to hope that comment you made earlier about him having a bit of Dr. Will mystique about him and maybe making his target so big that it disappears and playing from the bottom is something that he can pull off, but I think it's to be a tough ask with these group of players. >> there. >> [laughter] >> It's a group of assassins left in this game and then I do I do have some hope. I've got hope in the sense that I've got Ozzy still in my team who I think can win this season and I've got Aubry who in the beginning of the like by the way Drew, Aubry was the pick that fell to me at the end of the draft. So she was right at the bottom. So for some ways I just wanted to win it because it's not very often that the last pick wins the draft, you know, or gets to the end and actually takes it out.

54:08 But I do think Aubry's got a an outsider's shot at this. Stephanie has disappeared in recent episodes. So definitely off the radar. Joe clearly is not winning this season. So I'd say TNT community with Cirie, Ricard and Jonathan have some strong contenders to left in the game. Drew, who's the who's the contenders right now? You know, who do you think like out there is most likely to win if you had to choose like a top three at this stage? top three, I mean it's tough because I feel like we're being so dominated by like it's so easy to pick the people that are dominating the edit or the narration cuz it feels like we know them the most. So we're seeing their game play. So it's hard to go against like Cirie and Ozzy being like so like so forefront. Also Ricard. I don't know. There's something about Aubry who in the beginning of the days was just like I'm an outcast.

55:01 Nobody likes me. Everybody hates me. I hate them kind of vibe. And here she is at final 10. And she's getting a consistently getting consistent confessionals. It's like I don't know what to make of her and I almost feel like she's slowly but surely gaining momentum being able to maybe keep on climbing her way into like the top five, maybe even in the final three. I don't know. I'm getting that kind of vibe from her. But everybody else, I mean like Stephanie seems to be kind of just there to be eventually get voted out. It doesn't seem like she's doing a whole lot besides getting an extra vote that one time. Emily, too. Tiffany's tough because I think she's is a good competitor, but we're just not seeing much from her. So, it's like I don't know. It's It's a weird It's a weird Survivor edit. Coming from The Challenge and knowing we had to read that show easily, Survivor can be predictable and unpredictable at the same time, I've been slowly figuring out.

55:58 Yeah. I think it's interesting you mentioned Aubry cuz obviously spoke about her earlier and I think like her edit has shown It's shown her consistently, but not always in a positive light. Like I felt like between her and Genevieve, we like I was more rooting for Genevieve to win that one than Aubry. She kind of brought the whole rivalry up with Genevieve with the fact that she didn't even want to talk to her about game in the beginning of the game. Didn't look good on her. And I've always been thinking like even if she does get to the end, how does she get the votes? Like do people really like Aubry that much that they would vote for her to win this game? So, I feel like for her to win, we would need to see her have a very strong end game. I mean, it's been done before. Chris Underwood had the perfect Yeah, how many days? Five days in the game Andre previously when he won the show. So, with him five days coming back from Edge of Extinction, played everything right, won the game. So, you can definitely do it still.

56:48 There's enough sort of leeway here in the game for her to come back and play an impressive game. One thing that stood out to me, Andre, was a couple of weeks ago Aubry saying that people still underestimate me in this game. I'm a lethal player and I'm going to show them why. That Like they didn't need to show us that confessional a couple of episodes ago. So, I feel like there's still something here with Aubry. We're still going to see that Aubry that played the original season in Kaoh Rong who was a strategic mastermind. I feel like there's some strategy yet to come from her. Yeah. Yeah, anybody Honestly, anybody can have a very strong second half of the game. I mean, Drew, you came just from 41. Like was that the last season you watched and we saw what happened there. Yeah. So yeah, exactly. It's like you can either sort of either look at it like everybody has a chance if we just take that take that logic or like two people have a chance.

57:43 And for me, like I just don't see where Aubry sort of fits in there. If I if I give Aubry sort of any equity to win based on the negative edit that she had very early on, then you're starting to let in like a Rizo who's had a quiet edit or you're letting in someone like you know Jonathan I mean Jonathan I actually think has like has a good chance of winning there. So, Aubry's a Aubry's a tough one because I didn't I didn't appreciate her at the start of the season at all, but I know that a lot of the casuals did and like a lot of people were really firmly in the Aubry camp when it came against Janet. People thought the Janet people was arrogant or something. I didn't see it, but maybe that was actually the narrative that people are people with like the editors were trying to show us. I just feel like if Aubry wins, it'll be more of a coronation.

58:33 They'll be giving Aubry the edit that they're giving Cirie, I feel. Like they would actually really show her more than just like people underestimate me, like actually see her machinations and see her talking to Jonathan more. But to me that's only a story of them getting to maybe the final four or maybe the final five and explains why they get there, but doesn't explain why they win. so that's my only interpretation when it comes to Aubry could be like fourth or fifth in terms of equity for me. Yeah. we've got Reality Realness Chantelle here in the chat. Hey Chantelle, I hope you're doing well. feeling out at the moment. We'll definitely get you on one of these recaps in the future. I'll reach out to you and we'll get you on and we've got to get you, me, and Drew on the same I feel like it's been good catching up with Drew. It's been a while. I said to Drew before the live it's probably been like over a year since we've done a podcast together.

59:26 So, it's a it's really good to be on the channel. We'll definitely do something again. let's see what else people are saying here. Something There's somewhat ironic that Aubry's edit this season is reminiscent of Michelle's edit in Kaoh Rong. That is kind of funny. But, I feel like with Michelle, she was a lot more she I wouldn't say it's completely the same cuz Michelle was a lot more social from the start and I feel like people liked Michelle throughout the season and they wanted to work with her. I don't feel like Aubry's giving up giving off these vibes that everybody wants to work with her at the moment. Yeah. So, instead of invite to you Shau Kahuna, they're all going I would love to have Kahuna back as well. Kahuna is actually completely he's not watching reality TV at this point. So, like I'd have to get him back into like watching >> [laughter] >> challenge. I've actually kept up with the challenge, Drew. I've kept I watched season 41.

1:00:17 So I did keep up with it. I just didn't talk about it, but at least I know what happened and I'm aware that there's a cast that's coming out for 42. When's 42 go Do you know when it premieres yet? No. It just got done finished filming like a week or two ago. So, it just wrapped up filming. and yeah, we have no idea. And I think it's funny that you're like, oh, I didn't talk about it. It's almost that weird like because of what we have done in the past with like reality TV podcast. If you've watched a reality TV show but don't talk about it, did you really watch it? Is the main thing. >> It's true. No, I'm just kidding. >> [laughter] >> No, I know I know I know what you mean though because I did I did watch it, but when you watch the show and you don't podcast about it, you look at it from a lot less of a critical lens. So, I just watched that season for enjoyment and I still like I'm sure I don't even know what the fandom thought about it, what their opinions were.

1:01:13 Oh, wow. Like obviously, I know the end of it with Turbo and everything was pretty hilarious actually. but, you know, the I don't know the intricacies. I couldn't tell you mid-season what people were thinking about different things, right? but, I'm pretty sure people would have loved seeing Turbo fail at the top of the mountain towards the end of it. and I forgot the guy's name from The Amazing Race that won with Yurmi? Yurmi, yeah, that's the one. is he loved? Like, do people like him? you get a mixed bag. You're happy they're happy that there's a new champion. They feel like he deserves the win, but then there's a ton of people there are like, "Oh, he's boring. He didn't hook up with anybody. He didn't do all this and that." And it's like, pick a side. Just pick a side, everybody. >> a He was a bit bland. Like, in my opinion, he was a bit bland, but he was good great competitor, but definitely a bit on the bland side. Some of us trust that I talked to him so much during the season.

1:02:06 Love Yurmi. Will always love Yurmi. He came onto my like stream to do like three interviews throughout the season. It was incredible. >> The dude loves to talk. So, I feel like the edit completely like under-cut him. Like, they made him seem like he was just like stone-faced, didn't like to talk, but when you get to talk to him, he's like has a photographic memory, and he could tell you everything that was going on, and I was just picking his brain the entire time. I think we talked for like nearly 2 and 1/2 hours one time. That's awesome. And I was like, "Thank you." And he was like, "I got to go I got to go mud wrestle an alligator now in my backyard for this marathon I'm doing." And I'm like, "Have fun. Like, thanks for hanging out." >> [laughter] >> That's crazy. No, it's we'll definitely at some point during the off-season, I think we'll do a catch-up, have a bit of a yarn about some Challenge stuff as well. we could have a catch and pick up pick your brain about how Chantal's brain about where the show is at and what they're going to be doing for 42.

1:03:03 If before we move on from the Challenge and back to Survivor to sort of wrap things up here, if you could choose someone from the season to make it over to the Challenge, who would you Would you have anybody from this season go over? Do you think anybody would be able to go there and make a bit of a splash? I don't know. I thought D was going to do a lot better than what she did. So, I'm kind of like I don't know about that. I think maybe possibly get somebody younger, get like a Charlie or a Rizo in there. And I think Rizo, you know, see what happens. >> [laughter] >> What about Q, what about Q, do you I think Q would do pretty well. I think he would be good. So Jonathan, I think they were in the talks of getting Jonathan on one of the CBS versions of it at one point and he didn't end up making it in the final cut. I remember there being rumors about this second CBS version.

1:03:55 And then but Q I think would be I think he'd be hilarious to be honest. I reckon he would bring a lot of drama to the house. >> Yeah. I would I would I wouldn't mind seeing Q on there. yeah. Team good TV, I think. Okay, let's have a look at the points here as we start wrapping it up. So, at the moment, we've got in [clears throat] third place, obviously, no secret here. Andre, this was the first week you went backwards in points cuz you had Christian voted out at minus five. Devon's got you one point. So, it's like minus four. It's pretty brutal. at 45. So, everything's now on Devon's really at this stage. I don't even I've run out of things to say at this stage. This has been a bit of a blowout, >> [laughter] >> to be honest. It's mathematically impossible for me to win. Yeah, it's mathematically very difficult. We've got TNT community that had Sarita, Jonathan, Rizo, and Emily all survived.

1:04:50 They all got a point for the big move this week. I kind of gave the move to Rizo in this case, which would be in their team as well, but I don't know if Rizo was the person who really drove it. Like Rizo was the one who said, "No, we're not voting Emily. We're definitely getting Christian out." But was he the one who actually pulled the trigger? I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. >> [laughter] >> I'm going to give it to someone. I'm going to give it to Rizo cuz he was the one edit seemed to show is like no why are we focusing on Emily? We're going back to we're going back that way. so all overall we've got TNT community sitting at 91 points in second place. then in first place is still myself at this stage. We had Joe, Stephanie, and Ozzy, and Aubry all survived at one point. Joe keeps bringing in that sweet immunity points with three points there. total of seven points this week, but overall 111 points.

1:05:40 So still a bit of a gap between me and the TNT community, but I do have a feeling that it's not that like it's definitely not a foregone conclusion that it's going to go my way. It can go either way here because TNT community has got all the players left in the game and we're still going to lose a lot of players that's going to give us minus five points for every single week. So it's all to play for at this stage. Have you been doing Drew, have you been doing drafts since I left the podcasting world? Have you how have you been sort of watching the season? Have you been doing them? we did the Challenge 41 draft, which it was me, Shantel, and Angie from Kiss My Cheek TV, and luckily I won that one. so that one was good. >> Keeping up the good the good momentum. The good yeah, the good tradition. I don't know how this new one's going to go, but I want to shout out Danica who said that what about Tiffany and Savannah would be good for the challenge.

1:06:33 I agree with those two picks. I think they would be great on the challenge, honestly. Yeah. Actually, I really I'm a big I'm a big fan of Savannah. I think Savannah's one of the better new school winners. I've said that before and she just came in with such a target on her back. She had a much she didn't have much room to breathe or move. Savannah going early was the best thing that could have happened to Rizo's game this season, I feel like. If she was still there, it would have been a duo that they would have felt like they would have had to deal with. Andre, last thing here before we sort of jump off, did Christian make a mistake to go for Mike White so early in the game? Do we look that far back and we say if he had the David vs. Goliath group and he took out Ozzy in that space earlier, this would have been a very different game by the time they hit the merge? I mean results are entertaining, yes, but you don't really It's kind of like the butterfly effect where you don't quite know exactly what's going to happen. Like without with Mike there, he could have been actually voted off next, right?

1:07:26 So that's a that's a really tough one. I would say yes, just the way that it turned out, like final 10, I mean or final 11, it's not really the best placement in the world, so I would have like Let's just see that version of the season. I think that would have been more of a maybe more of an exciting version with the David Goliath crew in and maybe less so much the Joe crowd. Maybe with Mike Maybe the problem with getting Mike White out is that it cut off a possible like branch for Christian to like maneuver. He could have maybe had two or three ways of maneuvering rather than cutting it off and then he got rid of Mike White and then Angelina. And so then it just kind of whittled down his own numbers rather than keeping them in and then being able to maneuver in three different ways and maybe conjure up those other and other I do feel this is more of a criticism on the game format where there's always going to be a disaster tribe and the fact that he was on the disaster tribe, he needed to show his hands really early.

1:08:34 And I don't want to say it's not from his fault, but it's because, you know, he just happened to be the one that was losing and I think also with the Emily, too, and I think yeah, it's just he was in a no-win situation unless he could have played like a Malcolm-Denise type of game, which obviously can't really in this season. Yeah. Yeah, like BBG's kind of pointing out what I was thinking. It's like I just never understood why he kept Stephanie in the game. Like they never seemed close, they never seemed like they were going to work long-term to give us strategically. With Mike White and Ham, I think there was the to your point, Drew, there was some room for him to maneuver. He would have had another branch, another option of something he could have done by the merge. But again, it's when you're results-focused. If it worked out for him, he would have been a genius this season who got rid of a potentially very dangerous player in Mike White before the merge. But I think that's it here for this week, guys.
