2:55 Yeah there's people in it so yeah see you everyone that's all from me yeah like I don't know I don't understand what's going on I like the cast for the most part like I think Tanuki tan yeah she's awesome Peg leg's a legend of course Lee lots of fun I think like I like pretty much everyone but I honestly think just man the music it just makes it feel not like Survivor at all it just feels so fake with like I hear TR I hear trouble come I love Royal Blood I love muse so the Muse's cover of feeling good but I don't ever want to see them Mitch mashed up with Survivor that's like getting like your favorite Savory food and your favorite sweet food and then mashing them together it's probably not going to work like it's just and then they go into like the tribal music after it's like you have like some pop rock song and then you have like I'm not going to try vocally emulate you got you got this oh actually no I'm not gonna do that either sorry I got a bunch of like instruments here that you know but I'm not going to do that yeah but yeah anyway I hate the music and it's kind of killing the whole vibe for me at the moment yeah I will actually agree with you on that Tom because

4:16 V you know something about strand survival which I personally love is the soundtrack you I feel like each track that plays really intensifies the situation builds up different you know character situations and it makes blindid feel very EP and I'm not sure about you but the music at Tribal Council is kind of like a lullab almost rather than like oh my gosh a big player is about to go home it's like just you know I've actually not noticed it you haven't that's that no I've not tripped over the music at all I really it's not bothered me at all you know the part where it bothered me the most when like okay so the loved one like the Love Letters like in Survivor there's this really beautiful like there's this really beautiful piano instrumental that they do in like sort of sadder times I actually know the composer who made all the Survivor music and like I hats off to him for making like such great Australian survivor music but like you know you got this nice instrumental that elevates it but then in the UK one like while these people are having like their they're reading their things you just got like this generic like really bad pop music

10:56 Oh my gosh we better quickly move back to Survivor UK Tom but we'll definitely have this chat again another point we talk about Str Survivor but you know something Sur UK is has been doing extremely well is I feel like they're getting the best challenges from American Survivor and just putting them all onto the season I feel like every Prem challenge was one of our like old favorites from American Survivor and even the individual challenges as well like we had the I feel like it's like classic one you have to like stand on that seesaw with like a heavy object on the other end and it's like you can't really you know break it and then also last scas V have you been enjoying the challenges so far oh well they've chosen the classics haven't they like the two most iconic looking Survivor challenges of like instantly recognizable to anyone who's watched any us Survivor just to say we're in the same universe we're in the same place don't get scared because of the accents we're on the same show yeah I think I feel like there's been a lot of in the challenges are picking up on the classics and you know not Reinventing the wheel which I think is really smart there's no need to yeah but Tom we did see that there was a kind of a Twist

12:17 On the last gas challenge which I'd love to hear your opinions on where normally they just start them off already in the water like you know like water's already up there but there seem to be like stages to the challenge for at first I like holding it quite high up everything was fine and then they kept lowering the gates or the bars more deeper and deeper did you like that they added this twist element to the to the challenge yeah no I definitely think the challenge is probably the best part of the this season so far and I thought it was interesting like I did I wasn't like against it or like for it but I definitely thought they could have just made bars and that would have also saved them a lot of money budget wise like this mechanism must have cost like a decent amount of money I'm guessing like why they just want to waste all their money like on things they don't need to spend like spend stuff on but anyway I still love seeing last Gast was one of my favorite challenges I've always wanted to do it myself I would you know put me in a drowning simulator any day of the week it sounds lovely so yeah so I was very happy and I loved I loved hearing Peg Leg explain how he how he won like with the drown not

14:58 Against well it's interesting we went into the merge and then all of a sudden they were like right we're going to find out who's in charge here they had that absolute mentality and you know a bit of a pissing contest to start off the game the post merge and so sorry I wrote notes this time because every time I'm like I have no idea what happened I can't remember it from Sunday night but yeah it was really it I know it says you were the up there like I'm just looking up there for no reason yeah so it was a battle of the leaders and lines were drawn that you've got Lee and Chris and Ashley on the two camps and they were just rallying their troops and unfortunately Lee was on the wrong side of the numbers but as he stated probably not to the cast it seemed like he was on his own in the second episode he said his henchmen would go on which I thought I thought that was so cool yeah that was funny yeah so I'm curious guys did do you did you guys think Lee was playing a good game yes really I think he was I think he was I think there were definitely elements there I thought he was playing quite a good game yeah becoming after

16:18 You oh no after you Tom's got thoughts I feel like he telegraphed every single move like he was really honest but the thing is people still didn't like fully trust him even though he was so unbelievably honest like if you can be if you can be such an open and honest person and people still can't trust you that's a huge knock against your game he was also very aggressive towards people and red people the wrong way like he basically made sure that Christopher would never work with him again by yelling at him for that like that's terrible move he had Point yeah but don't like do it like that like anywhere like yeah it doesn't matter if someone like I going to say stabs you in the leg but no you can probably get mad at someone if they stab you in the leg anyway no it doesn't matter if like someone makes like a huge blunder and like it and puts you got put you puts you in your alliance at risk you still got to handle it the correct way otherwise you're going to get that person like on your bad side like if I yell at you for something even if it's completely Justified like they're probably not going to that person's not going to like me anymore probably and then and like I think sorry I was to say one more thing when

17:38 One thing he did do well when he was getting voted out was saying was bringing up how to n was getting targeted by Christopher and Ashley but well one he should have brought that up sooner address it with sooner to get her on side earlier but I think he also should have in the moment because he did save it to the very end he should have gone well if I'm the one lying if I'm the one who actually wanted to get tanuk out then what was I yelling at you about Chris because like I'm guessing a bunch of people here know that I yelled at you about something what did I yell at you about you trying to was about you trying to throw the challenge like make more of an effort to out them before he gets voted out because he should have he should have known at that stage that he was probably the one going home like a 50-50 coin toss yeah I think you know when I say Lee was a in my opinion a great player I'm not saying he's up there with your Davids your georgees your Boston robs and whatnot I'm saying he's a great player for the season right because like this cast is not very strategy heavy and I feel like Lee has definitely sort of capitalized on that as well as a few other players like T like a Doug like a peg League

18:58 And has been able to storm his way through the Prem merge but I do think his argument with Chris in the previous episode was actually his downall really well I think my whole argument for Lee was that initially and yes maybe the argument with Chris was his downfall he played excellent social game it's like what I was saying if you've got all the tribe if you're rallying the whole tribe with a freaking machete going we're going to win this yeah and everyone's just going okay yeah then you've done something right and I think if he'd continued that momentum then he could have had everyone eating out of the palm of his hand and he was trying to be the Godfather and everyone's dad but yeah but it just goes to show he's still had loyalists even after he got voted out yeah in pegle D yeah I personally felt that he was like out of the players who were left going into merge he was probably one of the worst players left but yeah but yeah each did their own and yeah I think the best thing the thing he was best at was throwing two people under the bus as he left and also finding a way to get the pillows seven nights in a row if he was able to like if he was able to apply whatever strategy he

20:18 Used to get that pillow for seven nights to a Survivor game he would have been the best player hands down yeah but I do I do think something well that works for him is you know this is something I had in mind for our reality TV squid game but since Tom hasn't seen it I'm not going to I'm not going to talk about it just yet but where Lee is obviously the most strongest player there like on the tribe so it's like if they got rid of Lee there's no way in how they're like beating Nathan Shai Lawrence Doug and pigl right so they kind of especially a one-on-one challenge as well like is Matthew going to go up against Nathan you get what I mean mat's no slouch he's no slouch he's pretty Prett tough yeah he's definitely not slouch but I do you think Lee's probably like your best most physical competitor to go up against someone like a Nathan what's the thoughts on that be sorry I just had a chopper go across say again so your thoughts on like they needed to keep Lee for as long as they did because he was like the and I honestly think that I think he still had incredible influence I think that's the whole reason that he was voted out was because there was two camps basically and Lee was leading one and

21:38 Chris and Ashley so I think he still had influence until the moment he was voted out he even had influence after he was voted out and I think he was kept because people looked to him for guidance or they didn't see it as the right time and of course they're strengthwise as well but once Matthew joined the group he's got an incredible amount of strength so it wouldn't be as much of a worry yeah exactly so the oh sorry I was just going to say I feel like it was a mistake on every on most people's behalf to take him out I think he was someone that was causing a lot of trouble that he's someone that you could easily turn the votes on whenever you wanted to I think would have been smarter to take out one of his henchmen that would have weakened him making it harder for Lee to actually be a threat like because it's a lot it's a lot harder to get all the votes on Peg Leg for example or one of one of Le's other like really tight teammates so if you manage to weaken him by getting rid of one of his henchmen like pegleg and then keep leing the game as someone that you can turn into an easy vote at any stage like you don't get the biggest threat out of the game at merge that's just a stupid thing to do and that's why that's another knock on Le's game it was like to me it was so obvious that people should

22:58 Have kept him around and he still found a way to get himself voted out because like I don't think he was ever going to win like if he got to the end like I wouldn't have voted for Lee he robon the wrong way he wouldn't have had respect from the jury I don't think so yeah they should have kept him in well I think the threat about Lee and the something that Gab brought up about Nathan how the challenges ared for Nathan types that he expects yeah gab expects that kuk is going to win more than Nathan I think that these challenges also heavily suit Lee you know he's like a is really good at you know endurance like mentally we've seen he's really strong so I feel like Lee like especially compared to Nathan I feel like Lee would definitely like has more of a higher chance of going on an individual mity streak are we watching the same show sorry I feel like sorry I had to everything you guys say but like every time I saw Lee like on a one-on-one challenge Lee would always get beaten in the challenge where they had to like go around the circle and catch the other team like he was carrying he was carrying less weights than the other guys even oh yes go yeah he was carrying less weights than the other guys in the water even though it was his plan to like drop off to just three guys and catch up to the other team

24:18 He like there's lots of challenges that I feel like he was like was not competing and even like he should have like I like I think would have been really strong but like I actually don't think he was that like great of a physical asset compared to on what he should be on paper like but I think he was holding a lot back to sort of not shoot his W too early on and for people to see him as that physical threat that's what I think yeah well I mean well we I we never saw him actually really be a physical thre yeah like yeah I mean he could have been holding it back he could be stronger than aie for you know but it doesn't matter if he doesn't use it yeah that's true I just want to say V I really enjoyed our podcast before we had this guy come along to startu get some good opin that's what I'm saying say the same for you but hey lik I'm sad Lee's gone I really he was one he was my top three favorite characters so yeah plus he's the it was his idea to do that stupid bag plan and he survived even after he was the one that came up with that idea he managed to handall that onto someone else I can't remember who so that's that

26:59 Three tribals ah maybe the extra vote I'm actually surprised use the extra vote in episode on Sunday Night episode whatever it is because that was an important vote like he needed to get Lee out across the line to although it was all for nothing because Pig leg there was enough people that were pissed off by the whole situation but I'm surprised he didn't use it and didn't see that as important enough vote but so now he's got that he can hold on to it'd be better if he' held on to his Idol but yeah you know well keep in mind that like he probably was very confident or almost like 100% sure that he had the numbers on that Lee vote I mean I mean we're seeing an edited thing so I feel like they're trying to make it look like a like a is it this way or this way kind of thing it probably was always going to be Lee like without a doubt and you know obviously he had to use the idol the next episode so I mean yeah I think he's doing the best with the bet he's made I was yeah I got the extra vote like thing all ruined for me though I went to click on I clicked on episode 9 and it gave me it said episode 9 and everything but it was giving me like the recap

28:20 Like from episode 10 so it's like oh my gosh last episode we saw the auction and Chris won the extra vote and I'm like no I didn't see the auction no I didn't so then I had to go back and watch man 10 play is terrible I'm just saying it I had to go back and watch number episode eight like I just sort of fast forward through it just to be like yep that's definitely yep I've seen that one so where's the merge episode and then I went back to episode 9 and it worked just fine but like w with 10 playay for those who don't know you get like the ad like the mandatory ads and I'm just like yeah the ads are and they're so just shoved in there at the wrong spot like halfway through a sentence it'll go to the ad like oh my gosh yeah whatever you know it's not the worst interface but on Australian streaming but it is also one of one of the worst nine plus or whatever it is the worst interface you could nine now that could possibly come up against yeah I yeah I think I was a bit like not keen for the merge episode because it took me 20 minutes just to get in like actually onto the merge episode and then and then when it came like to tribal just for about three the votes I got I had to do something like urgent so I didn't even like really enjoy the episode so yeah like you

32:21 Remembered those two are probably in every single Australian Cy fans top five like without a doubt well not mine because you got your sneaky Steves you got your roges got your H and your binges you know but let's get back to Survivor UK so we do see that the whole tribe turns against Ash and Chris in The Next Episode V do you think it the right time for them to flip to take out Lee because I don't think so for in that first post merge vot to take out Le I think they're making a statement I think Chris is all about statements I think he's all about being flashy and making big moves like a bull in a china shop so of course taking out his sort of rival of course that would be his first move yeah he does something flashy and then he gets in trouble and that's why I think if he survives next week then it's working for him because now he's in trouble so he's got every against him so he's got to work that like they said on the aded charm offensive to get some people back on site but I think yeah it was a flashy move it was the right kind of flashy move for Chris for better or worse and I love it when the

33:41 Big flashy moves happen I love to see moves that go wrong I love to see all that happen otherwise you've just got the game bots on us Survivor that are too so paranoid they're too scared to do anything really yeah now that's such a really good point because cuz Tom I know that we've talked a lot about you know big blindsides and big things we would like to do when we eventually go on the show but I feel like sometimes that there is a time and a place to make these moves and I feel like the first vote of a merge because what we clearly saw was Chris and Ash made this move but you know you got original koton which are still very tight together which maybe they're playing up the fact that they aren't tied together and we're just not seen that but there you still got all these other big ginormous factions that sometimes it's good just to pick a couple off so then when you do make that flip it's not like a behemoth of numbers you're going into what's your thoughts on that Tom well I think I think my favorite merge like vote out like at least in terms of like strategy and like what I would like to accomplish myself is Boston Rob and Redemption Island like that is the ideal merge boot you know just like oh we don't know they

35:01 Have an idol we don't know who they're going to play it on we have this we have this wishy-washy guy in the middle let's just vote him because they're never going to play the idol on him and then we've established the numbers majority and we burn their Idol and it's just like everything about that is like the most Masterpiece merge episode ever like I mean I know a lot of people hate on Redemption Island but it's got like at least three amazing episodes and then it's got little tiny bits here and there that are like that are okay and good and then the rest of it's just like you know medium level Survivor in my opinion but yeah that's like the ideal merge for me taking out someone that won't hurt you but it also puts you in a better position than the other tribe or the other Alliance yeah absolutely but as I mentioned earlier we come to the next episode and you know Lee he could Chris and Ash out for them you know wanting to throw the challenge you know to go to T and leani Matthew they do you know sort of fight back against Le about how he wanted a all male an all male Alliance and to lead with that which that is something that's been brought up on the show that you know the number of women that been F out and ren has been you know really sad to see V

36:21 What's I guess I guess what's your take on all this really about I guess Le's plan on just on just getting as much Mals together and like challenge threats and going far into the game I mean I didn't personally see I know that was I didn't personally see much of that I don't think I think I said last week I don't think that was in Lee's gameplay I don't think it's a smart move to have any sort of gendered alliances I think people get their backs up and it's just you're cutting down your options completely and I think everyone knows it so I think I while I love that you know tanuk said that I just can't vote out a woman this time all that stuff all that stuff is great fantastic but I don't think anyone is going is consciously making a any sort of gender Alliance I don't think anyone's quite that stupid so you know this is in the early 2000s when you could get away with so yeah I didn't you know I think there were a few misogynistic things said as jokes that maybe came off Paul were a bit rat rot but I think at the end of the day everyone could recognize

37:41 That both genders there was so much strength across both genders that there was really no point in trying to get anything going of a gendered Alliance at all even the girls I know leani lot of them have been saying it but I think they just realized that you're cutting so many options and there's really no point yeah exactly CU you the next episode yeah we do see that Ash you know she really does want to make this old Women's Alliance work but there's just so much trust that's been broken you know where Hannah is on one side on her own Ash is on one side on her own you got T Le together so it's like how can they all really make it work when then all these different factions and groups like you just you just can't unfortunately yeah and I know she tried to have that heart tohe heart with Leilani and tanuk sort of a I think as tanuk said a too little too late yeah after the whole everything blew up at tribal and I think you know she was trying to be you know Sister hood of the Traveling Pants kind of thing but yeah it just wasn't pulled off effectively and she needed Chris so she was never going to go be able to go full Women's Alliance without betraying Chris so I could see that Ashley and Chris were sort of going to stick together as long as they possibly could
