1:21 Habers Clark Hamish how are you I am doing good now that I have been referred to as a sexy Viking my like ego which needed boosting for the day has gone like it's for it's fulfilled for the day now so thank you for that all right any time Brother anytime get it that's what best mates are here for you know I'm here to boost your ego you hit the best my ego I mean it's naturally pretty high anyway I don't think I ever do that thank you come on bro anyways move along but yeah we're here to cover the second week of the Traders episode three and four and it was another great week what's your what's your thoughts on this week Hamish bro like I wasn't scared that it would just be like a lucky start that like the first two episodes were good I wasn't worried that it would like fall off but if anyone was worried about that it doesn't fall off like it's still like it's after watching the two episodes on demand last night I was just like in my mind for a split second I was like all right next one like let's binge this but then I was like oh we can't they're not out yet yeah no it's often with most New Zealand shows they'll start off really good

2:41 But then it kind of gets like slower and slower as time goes on but I really feel like the second week held up to the first week if not some parts are actually a lot better still in the first week I think that in the first episode at least even though it was good and there were some you know funny moments particularly with like the smartest move of the game and all that I think that like it's a lot of like character development and like kind of setting the premise of what's actually happening so it's kind of slow starting even though it's fun to watch but you know it's slow starting from like a gameplay standpoint but now it's just like we're just watching like the game now and like and now that like the character the character relation or rather the player relationships have developed more and people are starting to become more comfortable with what this person's like and where understanding the game more because there are these little things that are thrown in and I'm like oh I didn't know that happens in this game you know it's now it's like we're starting to like when we were watching this together last night like we were able to kind of like have these strategic conversations like this person would be the right vote you know this person will be the right murder you know what I mean and it's like I feel like we're kind of getting like sucked into that now in a good way yeah and I think something that really helps us as well is that

8:03 There's no weep books there's no Marmite and you know two by two everyone comes in and everyone's happy but everyone is shocked because Chris isn't there Hamish what's your what's your thoughts on Chris getting murdered I think that Chris seemed like the best murderer yeah I wasn't I wasn't surprised actually at Crisco and I just yeah it felt obvious not obvious because like the production made it not like mysterious enough but just like I just think it was just the right the right murder as for what everyone else expected I don't think that everyone else knew what to expect I think that it's quite early in the game and it's so it's like we understand you know why the Traders would murder one person because we see like hell there talking and like what the true what's going through the Traders minds and we see their like side what are they called again confessionals yeah the compressions yeah but like as you know for the people who are just the faithful like they're just in there blindly like well this person's pretty cool and so I guess like the first few rounds like it'd be hard to gauge why you know XYZ was murdered

9:24 Yeah definitely and something that I took note of is that Dan and Matt specifically chose Chris because she's the you know sweet little lamb she's like a bit of a social butterfly so it would cause a lot of chaos and confusion which definitely worked to Perfection because once Chris got murdered people started to look at Banda because Vanda tried to get rid of Chris said the last banishment she voted for Chris but then people were also suspecting was this potentially Collins doing because Colin tried to get rid of Vander and obviously that didn't work out so why not get rid of the person yeah and even went into total chaos you know everyone's sort of calling out mostly Colin and Vanda but the Dylan comes up with this great observation where right at the end of the last banishment when Lauren receives the most votes and she's like hey everyone I'm a Trader didn't notice as well everyone stands up and is like cheering and celebrating just slamming on the table might just suspect yeah and so like here's the thing like having watched that back he's not sitting back like oh no like another like we I'm a faithful and we got out of Trader I don't like that but

10:44 Like you could tell there was a lot of tension before up until she was like oh yeah you guys got me I'm a Trader and so I like you could see him just kind of letting go of it like oh so I have relief everyone else is like whoa and he's just like you know relieved that she's gone yeah I think it just wasn't that expressive but you know yeah people read into that yeah and something about Microsoft he seems like a pretty laid-back chill guy he doesn't really seem like the type that would you know if there's like a Mexican wave and like a sports event he seems like the type of guy who would not really stand up and join in the way if you kind of just like sit back and sort of laugh as it happens you know so I felt really bad for him when you know people started calling him out on that because he's like well that's just who I am you know that's just yeah he's just like he yeah he's just more chill yeah he seems like a cool guy yeah it seems super chill but we'll fast forward to the Commission huh but the mission I found this mission to be a wee bit of a an Uzi if I'm being perfectly honest with you Hamish you know there's so many different mechanics to it where so first of all there to divide into two teams one

12:04 Of seven one of eight which one of the attempts is called the entertainment team and they had to go to a whole separate area with all these different handbells and they had to play a tune of like a song that was in the book right which while they're playing that another team the other team has figure out the sort of tune they're playing and they have to match that to a music box which then inside that music box is a photo of a sculpture of kind of like a is it Cupid and with two oh two of them on a swing yeah and once I you know figured out which music box it was they then had to run into this Garden find the right sculpture take a photo of it was in there to run all the way back to poor Henry to give him the photo and even though it was a wee bit of a complicated challenge I actually found it quite fun like listening into the different Tunes were there any songs that you potentially recognized just from the tunes from the top of my head I think the only one like I

13:24 Didn't I wouldn't have guessed it myself but once they pointed out that it was amazing grace I was like oh yeah okay yeah and just for the people watching like in case you're like well how are they playing it from this book with these bells basically these different bells are different like tones and they would just be numbered like one seven five and stuff and so somebody would read from the book going one seven fun the people holding the Bell one would like hit it and yeah basically make this tune so it was very slow and so the other team trying to guess what it is they'd be like in the distance and they're here in the distance like one bin seven boom you know yeah so it was definitely not easy to guess since it wasn't like this constant coherent kind of thing yeah and something that I did really love though was like while they're running around the garden they got lost trying to find their way out she thinks it's going the right way but she'll run into another group going Brody's such a character she's very like yeah she's got that like Bull Energy you know what I mean yeah we're definitely talking about Brody a bit later on into this podcast which is this is definitely her week this week but we'll talk about a bit later on I

17:27 We can all just show up with some handballs and stuff panting of him as a knight yo yeah exactly but after the mission you know even gets back in the cars and they start driving and Brooke once again Brooke he is really good at you know like sorting out everyone on who could potentially be a Trader and he immediately susses out his friend Dan and say see things that Dan has been you know a traitor just because of how awkward his body language is especially when people sort of like call out you know like some of the Traders and stuff like oh the traitors are the traitor like Danny's sort of has a bit of an uncomfortable sort of shift in them and Brooke really narrows it down onto him like he hasn't completely locked but he's not sure if he should you know rally everyone to try to take out his friend or if he should find out who could be I think I think he was probably I don't know if it was Brooke or if it was Brody I remember somebody saying something about like thinking that somebody was a Trader but they were like not easy enough to vote out so trying to I think it was Brooke was

18:47 Saying that he knew Dan was a Trader but he didn't think that everyone would vote for Dan so he was going to try to find out who the other Trader was to get them out first or something like that yeah like you know see who Dan's like in with kind of yeah so that scene definitely made me think like I dislike Brooke as a human but no like it made me scared of Brooke as a player because like you know I'm team Dan like I was pretty sold last time now I'm like yeah bro like I want Dan to win this he's who I'm rooting for yeah and so any relevant threat to Dan not just somebody being like Oh I'm on to those Traders but they're not you know like Colin yeah man like Brooke scares me man yeah not Brooke he's very on to it Jenna he actually sussed out Lauren as well and kind of got Lauren to crack a couple times you know in the first couple of episodes but what Brooke is trying to suss out you know who could the other Traders be there's a lot of Suspicion around Colin and Darth Vander you know because of course being murdered you know everyone thinks that both Colin and Vanda are somehow tied to it either both of them are Traders or only one of them is a Trader there's a lot of conversation about well the people who did not vote for Lauren

20:08 Could potentially be the Traders which that ironically was Colin Vander and Matt which matters you know already a Trader but Dylan once again he goes around and tells people about you know Mike and him not really you know a like celebrating his hard you know with Lauren you know being promoted out and once again that raises everyone's eyebrows and suspicions but Brady she sits back on this one you know and I feel like this was actually a good move from Brady to sit back on this one because you know she sees Mike as a friend they've done television work you know before but she doesn't want to you know go out of her way again like she did last week and saving Robbie to try yourself Mike what's your what's your thoughts on everything that happened before the so okay I guess that like I understand the idea of like going with the grain because like you know if you don't vote with the majority do you look like a Trader I get the but here's the thing Brody seems to be somebody who is not an unsure person she'll be 100 sure about somebody she could be wrong but she's not wishy-washy with what she believes

21:28 She either believes somebody's a Trader and she's wrong or she's right and so I think that if you're that sure somebody's a traitor or if you're that sure somebody's not a Trader let's say you vote against not with the majority but that person gets voted out anywhere and then lo and behold you're right that person was a faithful I don't think people are going to be like oh man like why did you not vote with us to get out that faithful you'd just be like yeah bro like I just I my intuition told me they were faithful and I like to think that people would be like you know what maybe she's got like a good Instinct maybe we should listen to her you know so I think not for everyone but as Brody when you're that sure of yourself I think she should just trust her gut maybe not drive it so forward and draw as much attention to herself but I think I think she should trust her gut which she ends up doing which we'll get to yeah no I mean this is really the theme with Brody you know throughout this entire season so far whenever she's got a suspicion on someone she goes hard after it but also not in terms of going after a Trader in terms of saving people you know in the first episode or first week I should say everyone is piling on Robbie because she's the only you

22:48 Know normal person in the castle celebrities and once again everyone's piling on to Vander for no real you know solid reason and you know brighter shoe sticks up for vanders some of how she sticks up for Robbie and it's like do guys honestly think that you know Vanda would be that stupid to murder someone who she was trying to take out which then she immediately puts her to daggers at a column for Colin potentially being a Trader trying to throw for trying to throw you know Vanda under the bus and Colin takes some heat it takes a lot of heat during this yeah that's true yeah like I forgot exactly what he said but I'll just quickly find the quote now yeah so Dylan you know he calls out you know Mike and Mike and he's just you know but speechless he's not sure what to say but Vander sticks up for Mike's being like you know I really don't think you know Mike's a Trader and everyone you know they applaud for vendors you know you had an easy out there but you chose not to not to take the easy out so therefore we think you're a faithful right he

24:09 Sits there he's got his you know his fingers you know twinkling he's playing with this you know cheeky little mustache and goes yeah he actually did and he's like Zander yeah I think you're a faithful yeah see I don't I don't get why that many people submit like yeah he was going for her it's like he's allowed to change his mind but yeah dude like Brody and a few other people no you can't you can't change your mind okay yeah that's it Brody off she like immediately snapped at him and a few other people you know start like you know going hard though like yeah he was going for her earlier but there were people in this episode that were gunning for her like there was heat on Veranda right and when those people are like oh actually you know what because you did that I reckon you're faithful no they didn't they didn't get you know dirt on them but because he was against her for more than one episode nah bro no you have to stick with that is off yeah I didn't get that Brody confused me there why she was so mad yeah but she did Apologize straight away which I feel like was a great move on her behalf like sorry for coming at you it's just immediate emotional reaction there's a

25:29 Very intense moment but then you know we get right to the vote and poor Mike he gets you know red slim dunk on here he gets immensely Brooke and Sam's bow but then out of nowhere Philly finally get some screen time and he's like you know what I don't trust this person I'm voting for Julio yeah like we're shocked when Philippe you know revealed his vote to the Julia I wouldn't say I was shocked I think that like I'm kind of expecting there to be a few one or two people that just have these ideas you know what I mean like that happened that happened in the one beforehand right when Lauren went out like there were people voting for whoever you know Chris or whatever and so no I just kind of thought like well he's just on a different Buzz you know yeah he everyone was on one ship but he you know he jumped over the ship and landed in the water with him he's very observant I wouldn't I'm not saying that his observations are necessarily right but you can see that like he's like Brody he's not basing his judgment on oh man like everyone's going for this person because we think this

26:49 He's just kind of like he's just like well what are my experiences with these people you know yeah oh yeah absolutely and which is cool and finally Mad Dog Kings he gets a bit of screen time as well you know he says he doesn't trust Julia either they're kind of like a packed Duo filling Kings they're sort of like both thinking the same thing all the time what's your what's your overall thoughts about Philly and Kings up to this point I think that like okay so they all other than like some people for sure might be more outspoken than others they all get the same amount of time with one another basically so like yeah we don't see as much of Kings for example because he's he hasn't got a lot of screen time but they've seen the same amount of Kings as they have Colin you know and so I'm sure that they all have like a personal relationship at this point with Kings I yeah I don't know I'm interested to see if Kings becomes more of like you know more important or like vital as the game continues or if he's just gonna be somebody who comes up because he's kind of a number at the moment the edit has kind of made him a number but they've showed him a bit like in these in the most recent two episodes this week

28:09 His name was thrown around a little bit by the murderer the Traders so yeah I'm interested to see if he's just like we just don't see him much in the edit or if you know maybe he'll come into the edit more I'm not sure yeah hopefully both him well we're difficult to see the next episode I feel like it's a lot more screen time but hopefully King start to you know wrap up some more screen time soon but then we start a little bit of a cheeky bandwagon here against Colin we have Vander Mike and Matt will vote for Colin and then we have Robbie on Dylan and everyone else Colin Julia Justine Matt Dylan Anna and Brooke that will vote for Mike but when the convoices started coming out does pamido thinking could Colin actually be taken out here yeah I didn't think he was going to be taken out but like it was it was evident that he was taking some heat yeah I thought he caught a lot of heat you know especially with some of especially with his comments that he made even though it's a bit of like a I mean I'm not sure how he intended the comment is it meant to me like a bit sarcastic and a bit playful like oh I think you're totally Unfaithful or if

29:29 He was right yeah or if he's being honest but he recognizes that it's a little bit like ironic of him to say that you know and so that's why it's funny yeah that's a good that's a good point who knows yeah but you know in the end poor Mike you know it gets you never see furted out you know and he tells everyone that the playing they're playing well but not well enough because he is a faithful and he walks out and everyone's just sad I think he would have made a good Trader not to you know talk down on the guy just say the votes indicated that Mike King in Philly are broccos and would not vote for each other yeah absolutely it seems like they kind of had like almost a bit of a three going on at that point especially when you know filling can't revealed their votes that he was like you know thanks Billy you know thanks yeah maybe they've like had a discussion like not in the edit right but they were just like I'm pretty sure it's you know Julia yeah absolutely but you know towards the end of the episode we have the traitors meeting right and Matt says something which I feel like is actually you know a really good quote from him where the faithfuls are like you

30:50 Know there's really harsh animals they're ready to just devour anyone all it takes is just you know a 20 second moment of silence or just a tiniest bit of Suspicion and everyone would just pile what I believe he said was that the faithful or more evil than the traitors yeah you think that at the end of a professional line and I've I truly feel like that is the case you know we see it you know time and time again where they'll all sort of think of one well they'll think of like two or three names but they go really hard against us two or three names until eventually they'll land on one and then they'll kind of just pile on that person yeah I mean it's definitely a lot of you know with the microphone Brody didn't think it was Mike but she voted for him and she even like you know in her confessional was mad at herself or like you know frustrated with herself for voting for Mike when she knew it wasn't him and you know she did it because she wanted to not look like a Trader and so like basically the faithful you know they're supposed to be voting against who they think the Traders are they're just supposed to be as good people that are like there for each other but in actuality like

32:10 They're trying to save their own asses and it's this kind of mass history it's kind of like if you've read like Lord of the Flies hell you know everyone starts basically like killing each other sort of you know it's that like human nature like everyone's out for themselves you know and I think the faithful here because they're so scared which was the Trader's plan like when they when they yeah Chris right there what they wanted to do is to create this hysteria they wanted to throw a spanner in the works and scare people and make people frantic that was the idea that was the point of killing Chris yeah it worked you know yeah to Perfection yeah so I think that this here watching everyone kind of start go witch Hunty you know it's like this person said this like that it's like that kind of Salem Vibe you know what I mean like yeah the Traders are doing well up until this point yeah definitely and we see the Traders meet you know Matt and Dan and they are extremely happy with how the vote went you know the over the moon and all the chaos that's going on and they've got two really big targets and I think they said like Colin and it wasn't vandals Dylan I think I think people sound like a little bit suspicious of Dylan from being

33:30 So hard at Mike and from to be faithful where they decide to seduce someone yeah and that was the time like that they've played off what they wanted to do now it's the time to recruit yeah absolutely and still kind of while the chaos is brewing as well you know like you know Chris has been taken out anyone's not really safe they took out Mike it's just you know one of the greatest you know nicest guys you've probably even me so then by adding more Miss Chaska around the circle definitely yeah they're trying to keep them on their toes if they kill another person it's just like okay another person's been killed but it's like they're trying to do what the you know the faithful don't expect right and so it's like they took out somebody they didn't expect now they're not expecting a seduction you know yeah exactly and there are three names that they're sort of go circling around so they've got Brooke you know because Brook is sort of like a bit of an alpha the group you can say you know like he'll similar to Brody he'll sort of lock in a few names and you'll go you know really hard just send it yeah against them and you know really get their names out there they've got Anna which also another real strong key player

34:51 And kings which I thought there was a bit of an interesting call to make obviously we see Brooke gets seduced to be the trader but how old do you think Anna and Kings would have been as Traders if they were chosen so Kings I think that well obviously we don't see a lot of kings in the edit and maybe he would have been better than like we think but I think the only reason that Kings would be a good Trader is because people wouldn't expect it and so he just wouldn't be voted out but aside from like having a good shield in that way I don't think that he would have brought a whole lot to the Traders team in the way of like you know tactics kind of like influence you know you know other than maybe with Philly as for the Anna you know Prospect if they were to seduce her I think that Brody is such a vocal part of a game and she is influencing a lot of people and if she's correct about who the Traders are then she's very dangerous but if she's incorrect she's basically like a tool for the Traders let's get let's get Brody to full send it on somebody else and everyone follows her and I think that Brody is very like influenced

36:11 By her own experiences but yeah I think we're starting to see that she's kind of got like a almost like a right-hand woman that being Anna I think that Anna you know her yeah her second in command her like almost like advisor you know they're very like Pals and I think that if they recruited Anna could possibly influence Brody and then so they don't even have like I feel like if let's just say they seduce Brody would probably overthink it and not full send it she wouldn't go as hard the reason she goes so hard is because she's so passionate about it but if they could manipulate what Anna believes with not answer with what Brody believes with Anna I think that would be really powerful to use that and if eventually Brody figured it out then okay I'd like that you know that tool that being tool being Anna would just have you know served her worth for the Traders but yeah I'm happy with the brook vote as well I think there's a seducing Brook is also very useful yeah I feel like we haven't seen enough game of Kings yet you know even at the vote he seems to be going with what the sort of majority of what has brought you know fully you know it thinks with Anna actually really likes the point

37:31 You brought up on if you seduce Anna she could be like the Brody Whisperer yes and sort of whisper her in the wrong direction everyone Whisperer you know she's exactly so yeah I mean yeah I think brick was a very good vote for a lot of reasons particularly because he was on to Dan yeah you know and as more Traders you know more Traders get voted out you know Dan becomes more vulnerable yeah hinting at Future votes but yeah also like you know Brooke is obviously good at this kind of thing he does have influence you know he's he has a personal relationship with Dan you know from like poker and stuff and so Brooke and Dan would work well together you know I think Brooke is a very he's just like a good player he's powerful he's strategically social he's just like if you take away like his specific relationships and who his relationships are I think he's just a good seduction but yeah personally I think I would have I would have enjoyed saying that Anna the Anna seduction more because I feel like that would just be so chaotic to watch like using Brody as a that's like a bazooka you know just like when you're over there now you know like man yeah I would have loved to see that but no it's
